Maybe another brand will do a better job, but the booklet with this is worthless. It only shows a temp chart, no better specifics and no info on how long to cook. Recipes online may work for other brands, but not so good with this one. Tried a whole thawed chicken, 375 degrees for an hour + and it came out bloody. Same with a pork roast. We know a couple of people who have the brand in the infomercials and love it. I also don't like the fact that the drippings collect in the glass bowl under the meat with no way to get to them except to take the meat out of the bowl and pour it off, then put the meat back in the bowl. I think other brands have some sort of slide out shelf for this. Pretty much a waste of money so far.

When I first got it I remember thinking "These plastic pieces don't look or feel very strong." But then I decided to give it a try, after all, my husband was very pleased with the last one we had (a different one, more expensive,the one from the infomercials) and that I broke accidentally. I read the instructions prior to using it, the instruction book looks very, very basic and more like a booklet, no pictures, no diagrams etc. After one hour of trying to cook 5 small pieces of pork meat, (about 4oz each),still raw. According to the instruction book it was supposed to take only 15-20mins to fully cook. I never heard air circulating or any fan working during cooking time. Very disappointing. It's definitively going to be returned. I guess I'll the expensive brand buy next.

Seemed like a nice inexpensive way to try out these cheaper convection ovens, so I went for it. It appears to be a rebrand of the Mr T one on TV at a fair discount. I loved using it for leftovers especially. They came out less soggy than in the microwave and more evenly cooked than in a toaster oven. When I did use it on frozen foods, I tended to microwave thaw them a bit before finishing them off in this. I guess I'm not very patient.

Still, you get what you pay for. Mine spontaneously died mid-meal about 18 months (using it a couple of times each week) after I purchased it. Both the fan and bulb stopped at the same time, so there might something simple I could replace and get it working again, but if your instincts are telling you this is a little *too* cheap, don't ignore them. If you buy it, make peace with it being potentially very temporary in advance, a good way to find out if you really want something like this or not.

Overall, I'm glad I got it. Now I know I want a convection oven and I can spend some time finding a better model.

This is my 2nd Rosewill oven...I love the way it works so well, cooking faster and crispier than my regular oven, and found it easy to use and clean...I also love the lower price for this compared to the costlier alternatives ( like Nuwave/Big Boss).

But after a meagre 6 mths of great cooking, it suddenly stopped working... no bulb operating....on close inspection, there were a few grease splatters on the halogen bulb (from chicken thighs), and that must have been enough to kill the bulb, and oven. So be warned...dont let spatters get anywhere near the sensitive and unprotected bulb...I now know this is a common problem with all these ovens.

Anyway, I missed it so much I had to buy another one while on sale at Amazon...and if lasts only 6 mths like the last...its still money well spent! So far its done great for 1 mth. But I sure wish they would fix the design flaw!

Apr 09/13.....update..this 2nd Rosewill just stopped working, just like the first..the fan blows but the bulb is dead...no obvious splatters on it...always cooked on low rack to avoid this, cleaned catefully, but didnt work obviously...so definitely a quality problem, with only 3 months light use....make sure to buy a warranty with this that includes return shipping cost coverage....

Black & Decker CTO7100B Toast-R-Oven Digital Rotisserie Convection Oven

This B&D oven makes outstanding rotisserie meats and is a big leap in value over a traditional toaster oven, with one significant drawback: it's a very mediocre toaster. In fairness, nowhere on the packaging does this product say "toaster" -it's simply described as a convection rotisserie oven. But if you're considering an upgrade over a standard toaster oven like I was, you're probably hoping for the best of all worlds: rotisserie, convection oven, and toaster. It nails the first two, but is merely acceptable on the third.

Rotisserie: It takes a few tries to get a feel for the timing, but once you do, you get really outstanding roasts and restaurant-quality rotisserie chicken. The rotisserie keeps juices circulating inside, so the meat doesn't dry out like when you bake it the standard way. Some have noted that it isn't really big enough for chicken, and it can be a squeeze. But if you tie the legs with cooking twine (which you should do anyway, to prevent burning), you can cook a 4-1/2 to 5 pound bird, and anything smaller is easy (the manual suggests 3-1/2 as a limit, but you can push that a bit). Pork and beef roasts are ridiculously easy -just stab it through with the skewer and put it in -and absolutely delicious. I'm surprised at those who say the rotisserie isn't worth it, because to me, it's the best thing about this device. Well worth the upgrade over a non-rotisserie convection oven.

Convection oven: If you're not interested in the rotisserie, you can get a good non-rotisserie convection oven for $30-$40 less. That's still $30-$40 more than a standard toaster oven, but it's worth it. A standard toaster oven isn't really for baking. It's good for reheating or melting cheese on something, but that's about it. A good convection oven like this one can be used for anything you do in a normal oven. Lasagnas (in a 9x9 pan), breads, pizzas (up to 12-inch), desserts, etc. -all of these can be done here because the oven regulates its temperature reliably. Furthermore, the smaller size and the convection fan (which circulates the air to regulate temperature and speed cooking slightly) mean less energy. Why use a giant oven to cook a small dish? Pre-heating is quicker, cooking times are shorter, and the food is just as good. The broiler also works well.

Toaster: Again, B&D doesn't promote this as a toaster, though it does have a toaster setting. It toasts pretty evenly (no worse than a standard toaster oven on that front), but the larger size of the oven (compared to a toaster) means it takes a long time, and the toast tends to dry out. You can tinker with the settings a bit, and if you position the rack close to the heating element, it turns out fine, but expect it to take a few minutes longer than a normal toaster or toaster oven. This may also mean that you're giving back some of the energy you save by using it as an oven.

Two other drawbacks to be aware of: (1) it takes a fair amount of cabinet space, since it is a few inches wider, deeper, and taller than most toaster ovens, and (2) the glass on the front is not double-layered, and thus gets very hot -be careful if you're using it with small children around.

Beyond that, this is a solid product. After six months of use, I'm happy I bought it, and am really glad to have another way to cook outstanding meat during the winter months when it's too cold to grill.

I searched for a long time before buying this, it is great for heating up anything, we barely ever turn on our big oven now! the only problem is that the rotisserie is worthless! chickens dont come small enough to fit, plus the skewer pops out and doesnt spin! this is a great toaster oven but dont buy it for the rotisserie!

We've had this device for several weeks now. We've used it for baking, rot is, toasting, but not broiling as of yet.

Here are the observations:

[1] Good device for all intents and purposes.

[2] Needs improved control of the toast function. Set to 3, the toast is too light. Set to 4 it burns the edges. Instead of 7 settings. Make it 20 settings. You can afford to pay your programmers that much. It would only be a few lines of code and a more flexible circuit. I'd rather have the flexibility than years of improperly done toast.

[3] The rot is has issues with whole chickens of 3 pounds and up. They need to be trussed up in a corset of string to avoid contacting the drip pan

[4] The beep on the machine sounds too much like the smoke detector. I can live better without thinking there's a fire in the kitchen. Change the sound to something else.

This replaces a 3 year=old GE Rotisserie/Toaster Oven which no longer works.

The digital timer starts counting down automatically after it finishes pre-heating.

The toaster is nearly silent even when the convection fan is on.

The thermal readout is in 5 degree increments.

The size is more compact than the model it replaces, but the internal space is just as roomy.

The cooking tray does not extrude at the back where the pizza bump is, so you may need to use a pizza pan.

The heating elements are coiled within the larger diameter element surface (an improvement compared to conventional elements) so they shouldn't warp and bend when liquids drip onto the elements.

Overall it is a welcome improvement over the $20 cheaper GE model this replaces.

The oven is still going strong.

I have found that it cleans easily.

One of these days I might be tempted to place a small bead of silicon caulk or RTV under the top of the glass door.

When cooking for periods longer than an hour, a considerable bit of heat seems to escape.

Flip the rotisserie switch to the off position when you are not using the rotisserie.

That will stop the 'mysterious' squeak you are hearing.

Just bought this and love it. We're a family of only 3 and it more than suffices. Haven't used as convection yet but oven and toasting is a breeze. Minor adjusting time and temp as presets are automatic.I haven't really had to adjust anyway. Using it for breakfast and dinners. Not home for lunch otherwise would probably be using it for that. Music City Metals 95181 Stainless Steel Heat Plate Replacement for Select Gas Grill Models by Brink

Just got dome rebuilding my Perfect Flame BBQ. The stainless steel burners were rusted out to the point where there were large holes in them. Likewise for the Stainless Steel heat plates. What you need to know is that these items were made from a very low grade of stainless steel and rusting will be inevitable. I find it very interesting that you can get four replacement burners for less than $20 however to replace the stamped plates it will cost you $25 X 4 or over $100. If this item had four plates I would consider it however at this cost they are not practical. I also have noted that many of the other Grills do not have louvers in their plates so fabricating these should not be an issue. Remember if a magnet sticks to your stainless it will rust. Three hundred series stainless is non magnet and will not rust.

I just received this heat plate today. It took nearly a month to receive it. I was under the impression that it was a four pack of heat plates. How wrong I was. Only got one for $25. I will return this item due to the cost. I agree with the first review. This should not be to difficult to fabricate myself. I'm looking at about $130 for the gas tubes and heat plates. A new grill could be purchased for a little more. Very unsatisfied.

My nephew is a chef. When he saw our stainless steel stove (porcelain top)and how I struggled to get it clean, he gave my hubby a can of this stuff. OMG it is frickin' fabulous. I bought 6 cans and my husband has cleaned all our All-Clad stainless steel pots and pan and they look brand new. He has done our stove top, outside grill and it works fabulously. We do all every thing outside so we don't have to deal w/ the fumes in the house. At one point, we will have to do our stainless steel oven.

Just spray it on and let it sit for about an hour and then wipe it off. Depending on how baked on stuff is, it can take several coatings but there is no need to scrub. As someone else said, where gloves and be careful

Don't waste your money on this wreath. The picture is deceptive. I thought the balls were attached to a green wreath. Wrong. They are attached to a gold tinsel-type material. I ordered 3 wreaths. One broke while I was hanging it; the wire circle holding it together broke in half. There are also very few lights on the wreath. You can barely see the lights when the wreath is turned on. The wreath is cheap and is extremely cheaply made. Please save yourself the disappointment I felt at viewing this product when it arrived.

The wreath arrived in a timely manner.

However, when opened most of the glitter was off of the wreath's balls.

CucinaPro 1448 12 Inch Griddle & Crepe Maker

I wanted to make dessert crepes and purchased this because of the price. This baby works like a charm! Takes about 5 minutes to heat up and man it gets hot! For best results, put it on level 2 or 3 and pour the batter right in the center. That way you got time to spread the batter around the surface before it firms up. Try to control the thickness of the crepe because you don't want it spongy. You want it as thin as possible.

Other points to note:

1. The only way to clean it is to use a cloth and wipe the surface clean.

2. The included spreader is very good. Maybe a bit too big for it, but it works great.

3. You don't need to buy a wooden spatula or anything like that. A regular plastic spatula works great. The crepes don't stick to the surface even without spray or butter.

4. The edge of the surface is elevated. This is not like traditional, larger crepe makers which are totally flat allowing for the crepe to be handled by a straight spatula. This isn't a downside though because it can keep the batter from dripping down the side.

Overall this is an amazing crepe maker for the money. You won't be disappointed.

There is not much more than I can say. This is a fantastic crepe maker. I have used the villaware flip over and the pans and never enjoyed making crepes like I do with this maker. It takes a little practice using the spreader but when you get it, you will make perfect crepes every time. I used to love going to the pier in San Francisco and getting crepes, now in Florida I really missed that. The only thing I can mention about this is to thin your batter a little bit. This will help the spreading of the crepe. It also makes some of the best pancakes around as you can really control the temperature well.

I have been looking for a crepe maker for a long time now and finally found this one online. The price is what drew me to purchase the CucinaPro 1448 12 Inch Griddle and Crepe Maker. When I received this I was a little worried to open the box because it was shipped only with its original manufacturer's box and not placed in a shipping box. The box was a little beat up. However, the crepe maker was unharmed. It had styrofoam packing materials so the crepe maker was not damaged.

I was skeptical at first if it would function like the crepe makers I see in crepe restaurants, but after my first try I was really impressed. It heats up fast and it has an indicator that tells you it is ready. It does not stick and produces a well-shaped crepe approximately 12-inches in diameter. It came with an instruction booklet and basic crepe recipe. It also has a wooden crepe spreader, so you would not have to buy one. Buying separate spreader can cost you at least $15.00 so that is money you can save and use for ingredients! Furthermore, it is easy to clean and lightweight. I use it to make crepes for my family. I make breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert crepes with this one. A lot better than doing it in a pan. It's a great conversation piece whenever I am entertaining friends and family. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a crepe maker that works and easy on the wallet!

Had it for 4 weeks now, and love it. The only thing I wonder about is the thermostat; anything over 2.5 is too hot,and you wont have time to spread the batter out before it gets to hard. But that's OK, just set it at 2 or a little above, and everything is fine.

The recipe in the manual is not really for a real "French" crepe though, this is the basic recipe you should use:

10-12 crepes

50g (scant half stick) butter, melted

4 eggs, regular size

2 teaspoons of sugar

a pinch of salt

250g (9 oz) of flour

and 1/2 liter (2 cups) of milk

Mix dry ingredients then add eggs milk and butter and let rest for at least 1/2 hour before using.

I use it mostly for breakfast crepes, and I recommend trying it. Immediately after you flip the crepe over, quickly, and I mean quick, add cheese, some diced ham, some chopped tomato (remove seeds first), and an over easy egg. Then fold the 4 "sides" over so it becomes a square package. Remove and serve.

Use whatever stuff you have, like seafood, sausage, mushrooms, herbs...

Make a batch and practice using the wooden spreader before trying to impress on your friends and family. It takes some time getting the hang of it. And remember: THIN crepes! We are not making flap jacks here...

I passed a crepe snack shop up at San Francisco a couple of weeks ago and stopped and bought a fruit crepe, and it was incredible and I found myself wishing to be able to have these tasty treats when I could whenever I wanted. This crepe maker was a great find and for the price very affordable on the wallet, it's neither to heavy or bulky for a persons kitchen and it's very easy to use so don't worry about to many complicating directions an the like. The machine just has the on/off button and a temperature lever in front to decide the varying degree you want to make your crepe at as well as a wood spreader to spread the crepe mix evenly over the cooking plate, that's probably the only mess you'll have with this machine as I expect that with first time crepe makers like myself will have to learn how much of the batter to put on and to spread it fast and evenly on the cook plate but no worries live an learn with the experience and soon you to will be an expert crepe maker too. You can of course make pancakes as well on this if you want there's no reason not to and it works fine doing that as well but if you're like me and bought this for a more easy way to make crepes than just use the standard frying pan for pancakes and leaves this for the crepes, also for first time makers like myself who have no recipes on how to make real crepes the manual with the machine will give you two recipes to make crepes but if you want more this site has some great crepe recipe books for affordable prices or you could just go to your regular book store and buy one as well. So for people who have had the craving for crepes or have tried them at crepe snack shops and like myself now want to make crepes themselves here's a great item for your home to try out....

Purchased this set and on the first use the non-stick finish, started peeling off. Not worth buying.

I've used the baking sheet of this set maybe 10 times in my toaster over and the teflon is already flaking off. I was very suprised, since I've been careful cleaning it so as not to scratch the teflon, but the teflon is peeling off anyway. So, don't waste your money on this product.

Porcelain Coated Cast Iron Cooking Grid for BBQ Grillware and Brinkmann Grills

I bought these to replace my old grates in my GSC2418n / GSC2418 BBQ Grillware. They showed up with a huge arc/bend that was easy to see even before putting them on a flat and level surface. I am not even going to bother to use them. They do fit, but are completely warped. I am going to see what else is out on the market and won't be getting a replacement set sent to me. I will post up a picture or two showing the warp that I am talking about.

Update I thought I would give them another chance and had them ship me an additional set. Guess what? It came warped in the same manner. So that is a total of 6 of them all warped in the same manner. I would highly recommend steering clear of this product since clearly it has no QA process.

I ordered this for my GSC2418. It fits perfectly except I only need to pieces instead of all three. Now I have one extra grid.

The grates came on time and undamaged. Opening the package they look durable and hardy. I have a 4 burner grill and usually only use 2 burners. The grates have started to warp after several uses they are sagging in the middle. I didn't use high heat or heavy objects on grates. They are better than the cracked and rusted set I had before, but I don't think they will last very long.

THESE GRIDS FOR MY PRO 4400 BRINKMANN BBQ GRILL WERE NOT AS HEAVY AS THE ORIGINAL SET BUT THEY SEEM TO WORK OK. THE OVERALL WIDTH WAS ALSO SLIGHTLY NARROWER THEN THE ORIGINAL BY ABOUT AN INCH SO THERE IS A ONE INCH GAP BETWEEN THE GRIDS AND THE SIDE OF THE GRILL. SINCE I DO NOT PLACE MY MEAT UP AGAINST THE GRILL WALLS THIS IS NOT A BIG PROBLEM.

This is a great value for the money. I was able to get the temperature down inside my stereo cabinet from 100 degrees to 85 degrees. The fan is very quiet. I mounted it in the back of the cabinet. I cannot hear it at all from the front of the cabinet. The kit comes with a fan, two grills (front and back), a mounting plate, an AC adapter and the screws to put it all together. One minor note, I had much better results when I configured it to blow cool air into the cabinet than I did when I configured it to draw hot air out. I recommend you take a "before" and "after" temperature and try the fan both ways to see which works best for you.

I bought this to install on the side of a cabinet I use for Reef Aquarium equipment (i.e., Sump, Top-off Reservoir, etc.). The cabinet gets warm and heats up the water plus it's really humid in the cabinet. I thought I might need 2 of these, but decided to initally try just one. Works like a charm. Keeps the cabinet vented. Can't hear the fan at all. I have it running 24/7 for about 3 months now.

I didn't have any trouble with the installation. It was pretty straight forward. Happy with this purchase!

Pins were loose in the 4-pin connector at end of wire coming from fan. When I connected the A/C adapter to the 4-pin connector, one of the pins fell out, and the wire came loose. I carefully reassembled everything (very carefully, as the wires are very thin), and everything is working fine. Other than this problem, I would say that I am very pleased with the operation of the fan (very quiet).

I thought I was purchasing a turkey stand that would hold the turkey upright on my Primo smoker. I wanted to cook 2 at one time. Even with the largest Primo, there is only room for one 12 LB or above turkey. I will continue to look. I no longer use the beer can type because they never infused any flavor to my turkey meat. The liquid and seasoning never gets hot enough to boil thus it stays in the can. The best way is to brain the meat before it is cooked. That way it will get the most uniform flavor into the meat. If heat can travel into the cavity of the turkey it will cook quicker and more evenly.

UPDATE 6/6/13: Great news! I took a chance and ordered the shallow flat plate grill George Foreman GFP84GP Evolve Grill 84-Square Inch Shallow Griddle Accessory Pan and it fits perfectly! This will allow cooking of flat items like fish filets that rally don't need a ribbed surface. Other 84 square inch replacement grills such as the deep pan and cupcake insert MAY also fit. The top crosshatch grill is a slighty different size to overfit the others, so only the bottom grill in 'optionable' as far as I know.

I'm upgrading my rating to 5 stars having cooked weiners, bratwurst, steaks, cubed steaks, hamburgers, fish, and chicken, and grilled flatbread. The temperature control has a good range of "slow cooking with minimal grill marks" to "heavy grill marks". Like most hinged grills it doesn't get hot enough to ideally sear steaks for rare/mid rare but it's close.

You cook by ear -the grill cooks VERY quickly -once you hear steam generation START to drop off take a look unless you want whatever it is well done. Weiners cook best at below mid temp, lighter grill marks but jucier steamy insides! BEST appliance-cooked weiners I've had! (Campfire weiners are another story).

The one weakness of this grill (and all hinged grills) is that it doesen't do a very good job with uneven thickness items like one chicken leg quarter. All thighs, or all drumsticks, should be fine (cook bone-in chicken for a longer time at lower temp to cook thoroughly).

I cook simple meals since it is just the two of us and I use this pan several times a week. I debated between the 14 inch and 16 inch pan and decided on the 16 inch. It is large. Probably more than the two of us need but it really doesn't matter. It cleans up with a wipe of a towel and it has even heating.

Holmes Ultra-Quiet Dual Ceramic Heater with 1-Touch Electronic Thermostat, HCH4953

I've had this heater as the only heat source in my 10X15 ft. office through two Florida winters. It puts out plenty of heat on "low," and is so quiet that I don't know whether it's on or off without looking. The only problem, sadly a big one, is that the thermostat only sets in 5 degree increments and allows too much heat variation before it turns on, so I'm always a little too hot or too cold. I'm thinking of replacing it with one of the competing Lasko ceramic heaters. A friend has one, and it seems to be just as quiet and efficient as the Holmes, but does a better job of maintaining a stable temperature. I have waited and waited for Holmes to come out with a ceramic heater just like this one but with a better thermostat, but I guess this isn't going to happen. Oh, well.

Holmes makes an excellent compact and portable ceramic space heater that really gives off a lot of heat than my older one does! Moreover, the unit is very lightweight and easy to carry although of course I wouldn't carry it while it's working or just after it's been shut off.

The heater is reasonably priced as of the time I am writing this and I sure hope that Holmes continues to make these; I would like to get one for my father. The unit is completely quiet--in fact it's so quiet that you'll never know that it's there unless you see it. It rapidly provides a good amount of heat to areas like bedrooms and offices.

This heater by Holmes is best used for spaces that are roughly 100 square feet or slightly more; I wouldn't depend on it to heat several rooms or a combination living room/dining room all at once. For that you'll either need more than one of these space heaters or you'll have to use this unit along with your central heat or oil heat, whatever you have.

I also like that the unit turns itself off automatically of it should accidentally tip over. That's good protection against fire or ugly marks on your carpeting that could be tough to remove.

If you look at the fourth picture of the unit at the top of this page, you can see for yourself the way you can control the temperature. You get "on" and "off" buttons; and there are five specific temperatures from which to choose. You can adjust the temperature a bit more simply by pushing the "hi" and "lo" buttons. Great!

Again, this is one awesome space heater that's more than worth the current price. I highly recommend it.

I just ordered two more of these units. We've been using them for the last five years or so and love them! We need more because we keep giving them away to our kids, who ask for them specifically. They run quieter and put out more heat (double ceramic heater) than any other fan driven area heater we've ever used. We also love the thermostat features and tip-over shut off. I don't think Holmes is making this model any more and it's a shame. I thought I better get a few more while I can.

I have to say I've enjoyed my unit. It's the only heat I've had in my large north-east exposure, 2nd floor bedroom over a 2-car garage and still kept it toasty warm. We've had cold weather much more snow than we've ever had at one time and it's been a great little heater. I doubt the thermostat is correct ... I just adjust it up or down as needed. So glad I got it. The 2 Laskos I had were very loud and ineffective. They stopped after only a couple of weeks and not during our coldest weather. This has been very quiet and I really like it. I bought mine from Amazon, and now I see it's sold by a vendor I won't use at $11 higher price than I paid. I bought mine mid-December 2009.

It's been safe to have around my small dog and my 2 yr. old grand-daughter. I would buy it again if Amazon is the vendor and it is a reasonable price.

I hate being cold.

Update (3-28-10) It suddenly quit. Not sure why yet. The temperature can still get cold so I'm not happy. Like another reviewer said it turns itself off no matter what. So what's up with that? It's been about the same 4 month time frame as the other reviewer mentioned. Have to figure something to do about it. Not too sure I would give it the same rating now. I hate being cold.

Update 04-01-10 Discovered that the heater melted the plastic outlet on the heavy duty extension cord I had to use because of the heater's short cord. At first it looked like the heater plug had arc-welded itself to the extension cord. But instead it melted everything inside the extension cord outlet. Thank gooness it was the only thing on that extension cord and the only thing plugged into that wall socket. We thought after prying it loose from (and destroying) the extension cord that the heater was fine since its plug looked normal. But something's changed the prongs, and it won't plug in anywhere.

So lesson learned don't use even heavy duty extension cords (even with a built-in breaker and being the only item plugged into it and only thing plugged into the wall socket). I don't trust this heater enough to buy another of it's kind. I feel fortunate it didn't catch my house on fire.

Just bought my second one. Very quiet and quickly heats the room. (If you start having problems with it prematurely turning off, remove the reusable air filter in the back of the unit and rinse it with water, and voilà, the unit works again!)

I have purchased many of the thinner stones to use on the grill and they all seem to crack after one or two uses. They are less expensive but end up in the trash. This stone is thick and it has a porcelain glaze. I use it on my Weber gas grill to get the stone 500-600 degrees to cook pizza (simulating a wood oven). It works well and hasn't cracked yet. Clean up is easy as well because of the porcelain glaze.

I use the primo pizza stone with my Primo large oval charcoal grill. A critical part of the success is getting the pizza dough just right. Many of the easy bake doughs won't hold up to the heat without burning.

The pizza stone works very well to get the crust done well if you use a good yeast crust.

I use this grill/griddle in my business. It is great. I have had several of these and my employees did not read the care instructions...this time I read them and it is performing SO WELL.

Only wish there was an easy way to cook eggs without them running into the drop edge along the perimeter of Pan. But other than that, this is my new favorite end-all pan. Its great in terms of quality, and I'm very picky..It is perfect if you own gas, as it will cover both burners, and thus allow you dual temperature zones. Air King 9166 20" Whole-House Window Fan

Air King has had a 20", model 9166 for quite awhile. I bought my original in 1998. It filled the important niche between an industrial strength attic fan and a smaller lightweight window fan. In 2004 the original plastic fan blade failed, but fortunately I was able to obtain a replacement. That model 9166 continued in service until last month when it screeched to a stop with a seized "lubricated for life" bearing and another cracked plastic blade.

The new model 9166D (under review) was purchased as a direct replacement. While the new 9166 now has an aluminum blade, unfortunately it has a weaker smaller motor, resulting in inferior performance. The old 9166 had a quiet low speed of 520 RPM that moved a respectable 4160 CFM. The new 9166's low speed is a noisy 1100 RPM, but at that speed it only moves 2510 CFM. So at that twice the speed it moves only a little more than half the air.

Air King's 9166D specifications tell the story of the weaker performance. The weaker motor consumes less power, but is noisier at all speeds.

I have read a lot about this fan, both good and bad. With some of the bad reviews I had to ask myself, "How far has fan motor technology progressed in the last 20 years?" I have fans over 20 years old that still run and that made me wonder about the complaints of "motor burn out." Lets take a look at what might be happening with "FANS GONE WILD."

First of all this fan is like an engine, it needs air to run properly. That pedestal fan or ceiling fan in your home has and endless supply of air as it isn't removing or replacing air, it is only moving it around. But a window fan needs more an unobstructed source. Since it is moving air either in or out of a capsule (your home) it must be able to do so freely. I know, I know, I'm just like you. I love to turn a window fan on, crack another window open about 2 inches and feel that wind roaring through but that isn't what is best for the fan in the long term. You need to have at least 2 windows open = to the size of this fan to help it live a long and healthy life. This fan is already working hard moving a lot of air it shouldn't have to struggle for the air.

As well, get rid of the screen where you have the fan installed, that equates to about a 50% blockage. It impedes air movement in either direction. It blocks air being removed by the fan if you are exhausting air from the home or it blocks air trying to enter the fan if you are blowing air into the home get rid of it. As well, this is why you need 2 windows open to run an exhaust fan. Those 2 windows probably have screens that impede the air movement as well. You can leave those screens in place but open at least 2 windows.

The test: Open the intake windows you plan on using while running your fan. With the fan running now crack a door open to the outside of the home. Without closing the door or lodging it in place, gently push the door closed. If the fan is still trying to pull air in through that door, pushing it back open, you need more windows open. Air should be entering your home with the least amount of resistance possible.

My 19 year old son and I installed it he said it was the easiest thing we have ever put together and installed it was. It is a little noisy so you will need to place it away from a main living area. If you are like me however, that fan will put you to sleep in about 5 minutes in your bedroom. It looks good and the Storm Guard feature works easily and as advertised, allowing you to close the window when the fan is not in use.

Remember and trust that this fan is moving a lot of air as advertised, you don't need a small cracked intake window with a 30 knot breeze blowing through it to know that. 2 intake windows open to the size of the fan should do. All you are looking for from where the air is entering the home is the sensation of a vague feel of air movement not a 30 knot breeze. To restrict the air flow of a fan is like driving your car with the parking brake on your brakes will be gone before you know it.

That fan that sits on the counter or pedestal doesn't have to work for air, it is all contained within the capsule, your home, those fans merely moves air. An exhaust / intake fan is different, much different. Make it easy on your fan and make it easy on yourself.

Good fan I like it. If the motor craps out on me this decade I'll let you know and take back all of this.

I haven't disregarded the bad reports I have read, I shall keep the box for a while.

I'm also pleased to see the all metal construction, this fan is built to last. (plastic blades will flex and your cfm will drop.) Yea, it's noisy at full speed but I've got some light weather stripping that'll be perfect to significantly reduce the vibrations. We'll mostly run it at low speed anyway which still moves 2510 CFM. In contrast, we recently purchased TWO $8.00 twin plastic window fans from a local big box on closeout, [ regular price ~$20.00+, very much like, the Holmes HAWF2030 ] and those things are not worth spit!! The Air King will just about suck the cat through the door from across the room! I'm confident that my Air King was well worth the money.

We have a steam and radiant-heated home, thus no vents for central A/C. Plus, here in Michigan we don't need it too often. My wife and I prefer fresh air in the home anyway and only use our bedroom A/C unit when absolutely necessary. Now we have this Air King fan which we bought from (great price and delivery). Installation was a breeze (yuk-yuk), but make sure you have a window large enough to accept it. The height specification (26 1/4") is ideal, but the fan needs about 24" of open space to be effective. The 27" minimum width is required, however. Follow the simple instructions, and you should have no problems. Just make sure the window has a screen on it. I installed the fan in my wife's study on the upper floor. Since hot air rises, I prefer this location to a main floor one. By adjusting which windows and doors are open, you can control the amount of air pulled thru the home. Actually the amount is constant for a given speed, but the effect can be enhanced by closing off windows or doors to create a greater venting effect throughout the home. Today, it hit a balmy 90 degrees, and we really felt how well this fan keeps the air 'fresh' and not stagnant. Noise is the biggest negative, however. At the highest speed, my wife can't stand being in the same room with the fan. The low setting is still powerful, but the noise is tolerable. By noise, I mean air 'white' noise and not motor noise. We usually keep the fan on most of the day at the low or mid setting. On hot days, the high setting is best for our 2200 sq ft home. The fan is well-made and I expect it to last for years. This is well worth the comparably high cost vs the cheap box fans.

I've had the previous version of this fan for 8 years and it is excellent. Moves huge quantities of air without excess fan noise. This new version is very loud and on the low and medium speeds has an annoying whine. So, I studied the specs between the old and new. The old fan, at high speed, drew 364 watts/3.2 amps at 834 rpm. The new fan draws 170 watts/1.4 amps at 1600 rpm. So, the motor runs twice as fast, draws less than half the current and moves less than half the CFM. A real let down for $170.00. This is my third Air King so I am quite familiar with the brand. I wrote the factory and they told me that they are using new CFM measurements that are more accurate. HAH. This fan is FEEBLE!
