OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Barbecue Fork

OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Barbecue ForkI have come to like and trust OXO products as they are generally a cut above in terms of quality and design. This fork is true to my expectation. The handle is comfortable, the balance is good, the actual prongs are both flat (a plus for just holding meat in place when slicing without piercing or for gently rolling hot dogs) while the points are sharp for all the times you need the stabbing function of a fork! It's also a good length for working over a large outdoor grill. For my purposes this product is a five star winner.

Good quality BBQ fork. I bought this for the boyfriend at the time and he was impressed. He's history, but I am glad I got it for him.

A little thin and light but great handle makes up for that. Good length and sharp tines. I like it but don't love, good for price.

I've used these now for three weeks with my new BBQ and really like the high quality SS and great grip. Good length too, so you don't get burned reaching to the back of the grill.

GrillScrubber , the barbecue grill scrub brush with replaceable stainless steel scouring pads.

GrillScrubber , the barbecue grill scrub brush with replaceable stainless steel scouring pads. This is a gimmick. The pads slip around in the grip. The grip is unwieldy and clumsy. Just by the steel pads and scrub.

Used this scrubber once and the steel brush seem to come apart. Like the long handle and is a well made product except the round steel brush. Might purchase other manufacturer steel pads and see if they work better

Buy GrillScrubber , the barbecue grill scrub brush with replaceable stainless steel scouring pads. Now

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I wanted a scrubber with a replaceable head that was relatively inexpensive. I was hesitate to buy this item at first, because another review said the scrubbing pad wasn't held securely, and deteriorated very quickly, but I found that not to be the case with my scrubber. The spring in the handle is very strong and holds the pads very well. I've used the scrubber to clean my grill 3 times now and there is hardly any wear on the scrubbing pads. I think they will last quite a while before I need to get replacements. I would recommend this to anyone.

Read Best Reviews of GrillScrubber , the barbecue grill scrub brush with replaceable stainless steel scouring pads. Here

At last a professional grill brush that does justice to the effort I put in to cooking on my bar-b-que and leaving the grill clean every time. A couple of wet stainless steel grill pads in the scrubber's mouth, a little back and forth action on the grill, I drop the pads into the dishwasher and I'm done. What I like with this product is that it cleans not just the top of the grill, but top and sides. No messing around with pads that have to be inserted into this or that holding device, no handling the greasy pads. No need for a separate wire brush. It's too easy. The spring grip is surprisingly strong and takes a little muscle but that shows the quality of the product. Having bought and tossed out so many other grill cleaning products, in my opinion this is a steal for $29.99. Jamie Oliver by T-fal C9423364 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 4.45-Quart Deep Sa

Jamie Oliver by T-fal C9423364 Nonstick Hard Anodized Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 4.45-Quart Deep Saute Pan / Fry Pan Cookware, BlackPurchased the T-Fal pan to replace an older T-Fal pan. I wanted a pan which had smaller diameter that would fit/cover the large burner on our electric cooktop. The pan fits perfectly. Heats up rapidly and maintains constant heat. The large handle and auxilliary front handle are great when cooking/serving large dishes such as beef stew, cabbage and sausage and preparing any large dish. The glass dome cover contains moisture from cooking while venting enough steam to prevent overcooking. My only negative comment would be that the cover handle is small and you can burn yourself . Other than this the oan is a winner!

I'm really enjoying using this pan. I love how it cooks so well and evenly, even with a medium setting. I cooked salmon the other evening and it turned out beautifully. I look forward to cooking plenty of meals in this pan. It's sturdy and it is easy to clean. I also love having a clear glass cover for it and extra handle on the pan so it can be lifted with both hands. That is very helpful for us cooks who have arthritis.

Char-Broil V-Shaped Combo Grill Scrubber

Char-Broil V-Shaped Combo Grill ScrubberI didn't think it would be so comfortable in my hand, but it works nicely and is much more compact than those 2 foot long brushes. Love it!

This is a bad design because the angles make it difficult to use. I never thought a product would invoke hatred, but this has. I hate it more than Obama, Congress, and Hillary Clinton.

This tool has all you need for grill cleaning, however it is a bit small. If you like to clean your grill while the grates are still hot, this may not be the best solution for you because, based on the size and type of grill you have, your arm/hand gets too close to the grill and you can risk the possibility of burn. Overall, it does the job.

I searched for some time to find a grill tool that wasn't insanely expensive. This works, but the only problem is that the scraper is bent way to low and keeps hitting the grill when you are using the bristles. Also, the bristles are not tough enough and have already bent sideways. I will have to break down and pay more for a grill tool.

Maverick Two-In-One Oven and Roasting Digital Thermometer with Timer

Maverick Two-In-One Oven and Roasting Digital Thermometer with TimerOrdered thru Amazon sold by dealer "Ace Photo".

We had one helleva time trying to locate a digital oven thermometer. The few that are out there are $80 to $100 or more. Lots of thermometers meant to use as food probes are there, but they aren't meant to measure oven temps since they have a max reading o only 300 degrees, or so. lots of analog thermometers which we did try but are slow to respond any many aren't accurate.

We needed an oven thermometer because we new our oven was way off. Turned out to be off by 45-50 degrees.

This is very easy to read, and the temp for the probe is easy to set so the unit can alert you when the selected .

The alert sound is VERY quiet to the point of being useless. Even though the timer unction works well the fact you can't hear it when time is up makes that function worthless. For our purpose, this product is adequate the fact there is no usable sound simply means you will need to look at the digital readouts to see when the oven is at the right temp to start cooking and then read the readout for the probe to see when it indicates the "done" temp is reached.

Rating for thermometer both oven and probe 4 stars (took off 1 star for almost inaudible alert tones)

Rating for timer (which is a minor function) 1 star

Dealer provided excellent communication about staus of order and it shipped within a day or two.

Greetings...

I purchased this Maverick "Redi-Chek" ET-85 for use in my smoker for monitoring pit and meat temperatures. Unfortunately, I don't think it's gonna work out well for that application. The main problem is that the temperature probe cable just isn't long enough. It's just over 36" long which is actually usable if your meat is on the top rack (I'm using a Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker). If the meat is on the bottom rack, the base unit would have to be located right next to the smoker without much slack in the cable. The way the temp probe is made makes it impossible to run the probe into the smoker through a small hole such as a grommet modification, but it will fit through the top air vent hole. You can also run it between the lid and its base, but that creates an airflow issue in the smoker. So, as for its benefit to MY intended use, it doesn't look very promising at all. I bought this, possibly, without doing enough research to find out if it would meet my needs.

That being said, this temperature probe will be a FANTASTIC tool for several other applications. I can use it very easily with my gas grill if I want to measure internal food temps and/or the internal grill temp, but the grill/oven temp scale on this unit does max out at 572° F. If you are trying to fine tune a gas grill's internal temp to 300° or 350° (or anything under 572° this probe will be a big help. The other application I'll use this probe for is measuring the temperature inside my mash tun when making beer. This tool is absolutely PERFECT for that! It's very accurate, which is important in this process. A few degrees one way or the other when mashing malted barley can make significant changes in the beer.

Even though this tool won't work for me very well for my original intended purpose, I'm still giving it five stars because its a fantastic tool for what it is. I can't fault it for not meeting the purpose I had hoped for.

Buy Maverick Two-In-One Oven and Roasting Digital Thermometer with Timer Now

I purchased 3 of these thermometers to use in my BBQ vending business. All 3 units have malfunctioned within 3 months of the purchase within only 2 uses. One was defective right out of the package, the oven temp set button was unresponsive. And on all 3, the sensory cable does not effectively attach/plug into the control unit to the point that they fall out which renders the thermometer useless. The only good thing about it is the "concept" of a meat/oven temp combination.

I never make reviews, but...this items is of SUCH VERY POOR QUALITY..... I purchased this item twice with a period of time between purchases. Each of the items failed at the plug socket where the probe connects; I have been very careful with the items trying not to cause a problem. On 12/25/2011 while barbaquing a 23 lb prime rib ($160 of beef), the plug socket failed and would not hold (again) the probe. I no longer was able to accurately monitor and control the barbaque temperature. Luckly, I had a backup, high quality, electronic meat thermometer (purchased at Macys) but no oven thermometer. Again, a VERY POOR QUALITY product. This review is to try and help those who may want a reasonable quality and reliable electronic thermometer for quality cooking.

There were certainly no problems with the accuracy of this thermometer, and I was very satisfied with it on the two occasions I used it; however, the third time was unlucky. The probe would not plug into the thermometer rendering the product useless; unfortunately, this occurred one month after the return date.

Breville BGR200XL Variable Temperature Panini Grill

Breville BGR200XL Variable Temperature Panini GrillI got a big-daddy gift certificate from my sweet brother for my wedding gift from Williams Sonoma so I had my choice of any kitchen gadget I didn't currently have. I have owned a panini press in the past and wound up giving it away. It was bulky and just didn't cook like a professional panini press offering perfectly crisped edges and a flawlessly hot inside.

I had heard rave reviews of this press and I could not agree more. Yes, some out there opt for "marketability" over quality. What do I mean? With removable plates you simply are not going to get as quality of a cooking surface. Because you have to cover the hot elements underneath and then put the removable plates on top of that so that no one gets burned. By doing this, you lessen the heating ability and true wattage of the cooking sheets that touch the sandwiches or meat and you simply cannot get a true quality sear when you use it as a grill nor a perfect crisp when you use it as a press. Why should this not result in inconvenience? As a chef, I happen to know that a perfectly seasoned non-stick pan is not one that is put through the dishwasher. A perfectly seasoned cooking stone looks horrible and black. A good seasoning has nothing to do with spices. It means you build up the surface over time. This doesn't mean bacteria as a home chef may be prone to thinking in it needing to run through the dishwasher. Because when you cook with it each time it burns off that part of what is left behind and the particles simply result in this perfect non-stick surface where food slides right off. So no, for those reasons and from owning one of the panini presses in the past where you remove the plates meaning you actually have a double plated surface that can never properly sear meats, get seaoned, or perfectly crisp a sandwich, this one was made for the chefs, or anyone else who reads Bon Appetit and "gets it". LOL

I don't eat meat and my husband does but this pleases us both. You can set it to sear and lock in the juices of a steak and then cook it perfectly with beautiful grill marks or you can stuff some country slices of bread with vegetarian sandwich fixings, or mozzarella and basil and pasta sauce and eggplant or make perfect breakfast egg sandwiches or use your leftover turkey and dressing as I did for him after Thanksgiving for the world's best paninis. Not like the home paninis you may come across with some brands, but more like the kind you would order at a French cafe.

I highly suggest the book "200 best panini recipes" to go with it; you only brush the surface of what all you can do in sandwich ideas until you explore the thick cookbook. You could go almost a year making a panini a day and still feel like you have unlimited varieties. Plus I have found they spur ideas for other things. Your recipes will just keep flowing...and use new sauces and spreads to keep them interesting like cranberry chutney with turkey and cheese or roasted garlic mayo on a burger with sauteed onions and smoked cheese, chipotle mayo on portobello mushroom with caramelized onions, ( I just mix some chipotle in adobo in a blender to taste with mayo to make that.) roast beef with thousand island dressing on pumpernickle with kraut, jalapeno mayo with beef and cheddar...you get the idea. Sure it makes a wicked 3 cheese grilled cheese but you mix up a few ingredients and you wind up biting into gourmet good enough that you could serve it with a simple soup for guests and still get wows.

For best results, put your sandwiches or meats in the back part. Any extra sandwiches or meats go in front of that. It has the perfect weight to crisp them and make your cheese gooey yet leave the bread crusts perfectly pannini.

What else does it offer you might not see elsewhere? Some have a flat plate on the bottom saying you can cook pancakes. Bypass it. That won't make good panninis or offer a good grill. Why? You need the double waffle for a perfect panini and you need a slant to be able to have the fat of your meats run off. None of which you can get on one made to double as a pancake maker.

This one also has variable temps and variable thickness for what you are cooking should you wish to stack a burger high and not have all the ingredients totally squeeze out and so you can cook whatever you wish perfectly.

This is the one for picky chefs. Trust me, after a few uses you barely need to wipe it. It is seasoned perfectly with just a light wipe each time.

Some ideas you may not have thought of for dinner:

salami, prosciutto, and roasted red pepper panini

salami, mozzarella and fontini panini

summer sausage and pepper jack panini

pepperoni and mozzarella panini on ciabatta rolls with oregano and romano

ham, turkey, avocado and alfalfa sprout panini

classic club panini

You get the idea!

I bought this as a new product, as a gift to my wife. Upon opening it recently (my wife's grandmother died on Christmas Eve, so we were delayed in "celebrating" the holiday), we discovered the top was dented in several places. The item was in the original box, but the box had clearly been opened and the packaging removed. When I tried to return the item for a refund, the seller refused to accept the return and provide a refund. For $250, this is more than a small disappointment. Suffice it to say, we are sorely disgusted with this lack of service and seller integrity. I do not know if the item works. It was clearly not "new" and we hoped after seeing it to return the item without using it. Shame on Amazon for tolerating this shoddy practice.

Pizzacraft PC0103 7.5" Square Cordierite Mini Baking/Pizza Stones, Set of 4

Pizzacraft PC0103 7.5' Square Cordierite Mini Baking/Pizza Stones, Set of 4I ordered these mini baking stones specifically for personal size pizzas. They were the perfect size--I was able to fit a pizza on each stone allowing me to cook four at a time. The crust came out exactly as I hoped. I suppose these could have been used to cook a larger pizza as well, although I have not tried this. I did notice there were definite gaps between the stones when placed together which may cause a problem when cooking a fresh, not frozen pizza. Clean up was the same as with any other pizza stone. I loved the fact that this product did not require any seasoning beforehand, so I was able to use them immediately. I definitely would purchase this product again!

Product works as advertised. On frozen pizzas, count on using the minimum amount of time recommended to bake. Pizza comes out with a nice crisp crust. Also, don't use any soap to clean, the stones are porous and will absorb the soap.

Weber 7403 Char-Basket Charcoal Briquet Holders

Weber 7403 Char-Basket Charcoal Briquet HoldersAs I'm sure is the case with most people, I bought these for indirect cooking -you have great control of placement of briquettes when you're doing indirect cooking. When you're doing a turkey, you want to pile in the coals but insure they stay to the sides. For this, they work great.

For me, the surprising part is what a great aid they are for direct cooking. By placing them next to each other, you can intensify the heat source and actually raise (as a result of stacking up the briquettes in these) the level of heat source closer to the grill. A great addition when you have something you want to sear at the start of the grilling process.

I received the Weber Char-Basket Charcoal Fuel Holders for my birthday recently. I used them first to slow cook 3 racks of baby back ribs "low and slow". I have cooked ribs many of times and used the indirect method but with the Weber Char-Basket Charcoal Fuel Holders it was so much easier to keep the charcoal in one area of the grill and to drop off chunks of wood for smoking. What impressed me the most was how easy it was to maintain the temperature at 190-200 degrees. Sounds crazy but it was much easier with the baskets.

Last night I indirectly cooked 4 half chickens. Used the baskets again but didn't smoke the birds. After 60 minutes the birds were crisp and cooked to a perfect 180 degrees. I added my favorite bbq sauce on the chicken and moved the half chickens over the baskets to just crisp up the bottoms. My family loved the meal and I was very impressed again with how much easier it is to cook with theses baskets.

I would recommend these to my entire fellow Weber charcoal grill friends. A small purchase with big results! Weber is the very best!

Buy Weber 7403 Char-Basket Charcoal Briquet Holders Now

These baskets make indirect-heat grilling very easy. They fit perfectly on either side of the Weber kettle with a drip tray in the middle, making perfect grilling of longer cooking foods, such as roasts and large pieces of meat, nearly foolproof. These and my Weber chimney starter are the grill accessories I use most often.

The perfect answer for indirect cooking, no more coals rolling wherever they want. Use in conjuction with the hinged grill. This certainly make more sense than having to remove the entire grill. Coal baskets are large enough to hold plenty of coals and are vented to keep them hot while cooking.

These came with my Weber 1427001 Performer Charcoal Grill, Green. I've used them dozens of times. In addition to all the good comments from other reviewers, I wanted to add that they are holding up well. They seem pretty light weight, and I thought they'd corrode and/or burn up easily, but they are holding up very well. Agree with everyone else about how nice they are for indirect cooking and smoking. Put them on opposite sides of the grill and place a pan of water in-between them, and you have an effective water smoker. I can keep the temp around 250 degrees for hours with this setup. I've done turkeys, chickens, ribs, and briskets in my Weber Performer with these, and it always comes out extremely good.

Holmes Ultra-Quiet Dual Ceramic Heater with 1-Touch Electronic Thermostat, HCH4953

Holmes Ultra-Quiet Dual Ceramic Heater with 1-Touch Electronic Thermostat, HCH4953I've had this heater as the only heat source in my 10X15 ft. office through two Florida winters. It puts out plenty of heat on "low," and is so quiet that I don't know whether it's on or off without looking. The only problem, sadly a big one, is that the thermostat only sets in 5 degree increments and allows too much heat variation before it turns on, so I'm always a little too hot or too cold. I'm thinking of replacing it with one of the competing Lasko ceramic heaters. A friend has one, and it seems to be just as quiet and efficient as the Holmes, but does a better job of maintaining a stable temperature. I have waited and waited for Holmes to come out with a ceramic heater just like this one but with a better thermostat, but I guess this isn't going to happen. Oh, well.

Holmes makes an excellent compact and portable ceramic space heater that really gives off a lot of heat than my older one does! Moreover, the unit is very lightweight and easy to carry although of course I wouldn't carry it while it's working or just after it's been shut off.

The heater is reasonably priced as of the time I am writing this and I sure hope that Holmes continues to make these; I would like to get one for my father. The unit is completely quiet--in fact it's so quiet that you'll never know that it's there unless you see it. It rapidly provides a good amount of heat to areas like bedrooms and offices.

This heater by Holmes is best used for spaces that are roughly 100 square feet or slightly more; I wouldn't depend on it to heat several rooms or a combination living room/dining room all at once. For that you'll either need more than one of these space heaters or you'll have to use this unit along with your central heat or oil heat, whatever you have.

I also like that the unit turns itself off automatically of it should accidentally tip over. That's good protection against fire or ugly marks on your carpeting that could be tough to remove.

If you look at the fourth picture of the unit at the top of this page, you can see for yourself the way you can control the temperature. You get "on" and "off" buttons; and there are five specific temperatures from which to choose. You can adjust the temperature a bit more simply by pushing the "hi" and "lo" buttons. Great!

Again, this is one awesome space heater that's more than worth the current price. I highly recommend it.

I just ordered two more of these units. We've been using them for the last five years or so and love them! We need more because we keep giving them away to our kids, who ask for them specifically. They run quieter and put out more heat (double ceramic heater) than any other fan driven area heater we've ever used. We also love the thermostat features and tip-over shut off. I don't think Holmes is making this model any more and it's a shame. I thought I better get a few more while I can.

Read Best Reviews of Holmes Ultra-Quiet Dual Ceramic Heater with 1-Touch Electronic Thermostat, HCH4953 Here

I have to say I've enjoyed my unit. It's the only heat I've had in my large north-east exposure, 2nd floor bedroom over a 2-car garage and still kept it toasty warm. We've had cold weather much more snow than we've ever had at one time and it's been a great little heater. I doubt the thermostat is correct ... I just adjust it up or down as needed. So glad I got it. The 2 Laskos I had were very loud and ineffective. They stopped after only a couple of weeks and not during our coldest weather. This has been very quiet and I really like it. I bought mine from Amazon, and now I see it's sold by a vendor I won't use at $11 higher price than I paid. I bought mine mid-December 2009.

It's been safe to have around my small dog and my 2 yr. old grand-daughter. I would buy it again if Amazon is the vendor and it is a reasonable price.

I hate being cold.

Update (3-28-10) It suddenly quit. Not sure why yet. The temperature can still get cold so I'm not happy. Like another reviewer said it turns itself off no matter what. So what's up with that? It's been about the same 4 month time frame as the other reviewer mentioned. Have to figure something to do about it. Not too sure I would give it the same rating now. I hate being cold.

Update 04-01-10 Discovered that the heater melted the plastic outlet on the heavy duty extension cord I had to use because of the heater's short cord. At first it looked like the heater plug had arc-welded itself to the extension cord. But instead it melted everything inside the extension cord outlet. Thank gooness it was the only thing on that extension cord and the only thing plugged into that wall socket. We thought after prying it loose from (and destroying) the extension cord that the heater was fine since its plug looked normal. But something's changed the prongs, and it won't plug in anywhere.

So lesson learned don't use even heavy duty extension cords (even with a built-in breaker and being the only item plugged into it and only thing plugged into the wall socket). I don't trust this heater enough to buy another of it's kind. I feel fortunate it didn't catch my house on fire.

Just bought my second one. Very quiet and quickly heats the room. (If you start having problems with it prematurely turning off, remove the reusable air filter in the back of the unit and rinse it with water, and voilà, the unit works again!)

Ceramic Marble Coated Cast Aluminium Non Stick Fry Pan 24 cm (9 1/2 inches)

Ceramic Marble Coated Cast Aluminium Non Stick Fry Pan 24 cmIt's hard to get a good non-stick pan at a reasonable price. So far this pan ticks all the boxes. Although I haven't had it long I'm impressed. A good heavy pan to hold the heat, and the surface appears very durable. A good quality finish overall. So far so good

I came very close to finally breaking down and buying AllCLAD, then saw this on Amazon. I decided to give it a go since it wasn't too much out of pocket should it turn out to be a disaster. What a fabulous surprise! These Ceramic Marble coated pans and pots are truly wonderful. I use them nearly every day and have yet to have one problem; no sticking, no peeling, no burning on the bottom of the pan. I have a glass top stove and the pans have no issues at all. Sometimes I use a smidge of butter or oil for added flavor but many times I cook without fats and everything comes out great. My only issue is that I wish the line had more options. I have a couple of other odd sized pots and pans I would love to replace, but so far I have 3 of these and they are worth it and such a deal.

I bought this pan about 5 months ago to use making eggs over easy and I must say it lives up to its non stick name as the eggs just slide around without effort. My Caphalon Non Stick pans aren't so non stick anymore, and I was looking for a good alternative. I considered buying the Orgreenic pans, but the reviews were not so kind, but then I came across the Ceramic Marble Coated Cast Aluminum Non Stick pan and I'm glad I did. Very pleased with it so far and am buying a larger version for everyday cooking. I don't see any wear on the non stick surface so far, so I'm hopeful this pan will last a long time.
