My husband uses this pan to cook breakfast for our family every weekend. He uses it primarily for pancakes, potatoes, and ham steaks and it works very well. It heats quickly and evenly, and nothing sticks to it. He can cook everything in one pan and it cleans up easily. Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Potato Grilling Rack
Here are my reflections after my first time using this contraption:
1) I started cooking potatoes at the same time as the steak and vegetables. By the time my steak and asparagus were cooked, the potatoes needed another 10 minutes or so. In hindsight, I should have started the potatoes while the grill was heating up; and they would have been done on time
2) I varied from the original instructions wrapping two of the four potatoes in aluminum foil before placing them on the spikes. They cooked faster, though had less of a roasted taste (that I found very desirable!)
3) On one of the four spikes I placed a sweet potato which tasted fantastic after coming off the grill! It needed no foil, and cooked a little faster than the exposed (foil-free) potatoes.
In summary, you should probably start cooking the potatoes while the grill is heating up. You can wrap them in foil to make the job faster; though it will cut back on the nice roasted flavor that you otherwise get.
I gave it 4 stars because it isn't 100% non-stick, even with a coat of oil. When I pull potatoes off the rack, they tend to stick to the spike and tear that part of the potato open. Still taste great, though!Bought this on a whim to add to the other grill accessories in the garage. Didn't really cook the potatoes quicker than before and was tough to clean. It does keep the spuds in place (as long as there aren't more than 4) where you can continue to brush them with melted butter, mmmmmmmm. Be sure to use non-stick spray (found that out the hard way). Save your money wrap them in foil and throw them on.

There's junk and then there's junk! This thing is a candidate for the Ripoff hall of fame. Potatoes cook unevenly and the skins are burned black due to considerable amount of time needed to make the food halfway edible. Of course, there's no satisfaction guarantee offered to consumers. I'm sure the folks who brought this lousy product to market had to have known it was an impractical and useless product but they just wanted to make a buck.Read Best Reviews of Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Potato Grilling Rack Here
I am always looking for a gadget for the grill. After a few tries I found the only redeeming quality is that the potato skin is crispier than normal foil wrapped potatoes. This gadget is heading for the yard sale pile.Want Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Potato Grilling Rack Discount?
I have used this potato holder for over a year and love the quality of the steel and the functionality of securing the potato to the rack. Every BBQ chef should acquire one of these units for use during 2013.Monday, January 13, 2014
All-Clad LTD Nonstick Grande Grille Pan
I am a purist when it comes to certain cookware. Cast iron just does some things better. But cast iron isn't for everyone. It's heavy, doesn't 'clean' the way many people are comfortable with, and takes some adjustment to understand its slow cooking properties. This grill pan is great if you're looking to do the following:
1. Grill up some salmon or swordfish steaks without worrying about leaving a 'fishy' residue on that precious, seasoned grill you have
2. Tenderize and cook to near perfection some chicken you have
3. Grill vegetables with, or without olive oil (the wonders of non-stick make the pan virtually a no-fat cooking device. Think of it like a much, much higher quality non-electric george foreman grill)
What it's not so good with:
1. Strip steak
2. Hamburgers (fat tastes good, lets face it folks)
3. Slow cook BBQ (you need real charcoal or at least cast iron to cook these babies nice and slow when you don't have your own smoke house)
So bottom line:
If you're more of a meatier eater/cooker, stick with the original (and less expensive cast iron or outdoor grills). If you're into fish, veggies, and chicken, consider adding this to your arsenal of essential All-Clad supplies.

Actually, had to buy two because I had the misfortune of leaving our old one inside of the stove in our previous apartment! Well the new renters surely got a fabulous housewarming gift. This grill is easy to clean and wonderful to handle on two burners. We put one burner on medium for cooking and the other on low for keeping the finished food at the right temperature (handy when doing protein and veggies at same time). Also, if your oven is big enough, you can sear the meat on top of the stove and move it into a 450 preheated oven to panroast (the stainless handles make this a cinch). We've used Creuset as an alternative, and it's just not as easy to clean and maneuver. If you buy it on Amazon it's 99.95 plus free shipping (and whatever bonus is running--like today another $25.00 0ff with a small additional purchase in kitchenware). However, if you buy it at Williams Sonoma you can get it with shipping of 10-15 dollars but you do get garlic paste and stainless steel skewers). So you might want to see what works better for you.Read Best Reviews of All-Clad LTD Nonstick Grande Grille Pan Here
This pan is EXACTLY what I was looking for. After buying two different brands of cast iron grill pans, I have finally found one that does the trick. All of my pots and pans are All Clad, but I didn't want to spend the big bucks for an All Clad grill pan so I order two different cast iron pans and both of them were awful. Food sticking (even after much seasoning) and the pans were really heavy and cumbersome to use.
Then I found an incredible price on this All Clad grill pan on Amazon.com and bought it.
Should have bought it in the first place!I just purchased this grill last week & don't know how I survived without it. It is absolutely wonderful. It fits perfectly over the 2 burners on my gas stove. I lightly seasoned with vegetable oil just before using (as recommended) and clean up has been a breeze. It easily holds 8 NY Strip steaks & could probably hold 10-12 burgers. If you like to grill inside, this is so much better than a George Foreman grill. I ordered mine from Williams Sonoma because for the same price listed here, you get free All Clad skewers (6) & a jar of roasted garlic paste marinade. Some might think it's a bit expensive, but it's something you'll only have to buy once. I felt just like Rachael Ray using mine! It's definitely a must have!

Porcelain Coated Cast Iron Cooking Grid for BBQ Grillware and Brinkmann Grills
Update I thought I would give them another chance and had them ship me an additional set. Guess what? It came warped in the same manner. So that is a total of 6 of them all warped in the same manner. I would highly recommend steering clear of this product since clearly it has no QA process.I ordered this for my GSC2418. It fits perfectly except I only need to pieces instead of all three. Now I have one extra grid.

The grates came on time and undamaged. Opening the package they look durable and hardy. I have a 4 burner grill and usually only use 2 burners. The grates have started to warp after several uses they are sagging in the middle. I didn't use high heat or heavy objects on grates. They are better than the cracked and rusted set I had before, but I don't think they will last very long.Great purchasehard to find at a reasonable price considering this grill series is discontinued but was also at the best price found. A bit smaller than original grids but works fine.Want Porcelain Coated Cast Iron Cooking Grid for BBQ Grillware and Brinkmann Grills Discount?
THESE GRIDS FOR MY PRO 4400 BRINKMANN BBQ GRILL WERE NOT AS HEAVY AS THE ORIGINAL SET BUT THEY SEEM TO WORK OK. THE OVERALL WIDTH WAS ALSO SLIGHTLY NARROWER THEN THE ORIGINAL BY ABOUT AN INCH SO THERE IS A ONE INCH GAP BETWEEN THE GRIDS AND THE SIDE OF THE GRILL. SINCE I DO NOT PLACE MY MEAT UP AGAINST THE GRILL WALLS THIS IS NOT A BIG PROBLEM.Tuesday, December 10, 2013
GrillPro 90613 13-Inch Cast Iron Bar Burner
The price was very good as my Canadian Tire store wanted more than twice the money for each and also the 5% GST plus 9.5% PST
on top of it
As I needed 3 burners to fix my old Kent BBQ, the final price with shipping was less than half what I would have paid locally.
The only issue I had was that the Kent needed 17 inches burners instead of those 15" units but I made a custom bracket to hold the shorter
pieces and they work perfectly.
I love that Kent and it is now over 10 years old and it should be good for another 10 years with that repair.
They were made in New Zealand and sold by CTC in Canada and the warranty was 7 years. Very high quality construction with inoxydable cover
and cast iron cooking grillsThis is a solid 13 inch burner. It will bring at least ten years of daily service. Double check all your burners for gas loss or hot spots.

Charcoal Companion Explorer Folding Handle Grilling Fork
They are a very well made item made with good quality wood and metal. I like that the fold in half and lock in place relatively easily. This also holds true for closing them as well.
There are two reasons I didn't give them five stars. First of all, the hanging ring position is wrong since it is near the middle of the fork when it is open but is fine when they are closed. Second, the way that the fork is welded onto the neck makes holding it a bit awkward. They welded it on the same way that they welded the spatula on, but it should be welded on the other side since it would fit in a more natural way in your hand given the curve of the handles. I am just nit picking on these things.
I would definitely buy these again.

Lodge Logic LJSCP3 Jumbo Chef's Platter, 12-inch by 15-inch
Having used the Lodge Pro Logic pizza pan from over a year to make roast potatoes (thin skin red, fingerling, little gourmet potatoes, cut to roughly same size, liberally tossed in olive oil, Rosemary, Oregano, a dash of red wine vinegar, 450 degrees, 20 minutes then flip with spatula or tongs, roast another 20 minuts or until soft).
The possibility of roasting all kinds of veggies arises. I bought this pan to serve as a spill over pan when I had too many veggies on the pizza pan (a little space around the roasted veggies helps).
Alas, it perfectly fits 1/2 of my gas grill, I'm now thinking about roasted veggies in the summer without running a high temperature oven in the summer. I'll also use this for family style fajitas.
Like all Lodge the quality is great. The 12" X 15" dimensions are outer dimensions, with the inner dimensions being about 12"-10", 10-14" at the wide point.
When you buy this remember it is a heavy pan that will get heavier when full of food. Be in the habit of picking up a pot holder when you move towards a pan. This pan will hold the heat from the oven. Be prepared to still have your food warm on the coolest winter days when you go back for seconds, or even when it comes time to clean up.
Lodge makes a smaller version of this pan, I"m not sure if it's on Amazon yet. The smaller version has a wood liner available, but there is no liner available for the jumbo platter. The Lodge Chef's Platter can certainly be used as a serving platter. Warm it slightly in an oven to keep hot hors d'oeuvres warm. Chill it in a refrigerator for an hour before serving a relish tray or meat and cheese tray so those items stay colder longer.
The versatility comes from its ability to be used in the oven, on the stove top, or on the grill. Preheat it for 15-20 minutes in the oven and put on french fries, sweet potato fries, pizza, veggies, chicken strips, or anything else. The food comes out crispy with a perfectly thin "crust". No more soggy baked french fries!
For the bakers, this also works well for Italian bread. Pre-heat it and you'll get a nice crispy crust that works very well with Italian bread.
What originally drew me to the platter was its flat bottom (save for the small Lodge logo cast into it). The flat bottom means it can work effectively on a glass or ceramic smooth-top electric stove. You must give the platter adequate time to pre-heat when using it on a stovetop. Due to its size and slow-heating nature, it will take a good 10-20 minutes for the edges to heat up on a smooth-top stove (longer than my 12" Lodge skillet). If you don't, you'll have a big hot spot in the middle. Depending on the size of your stove and the configuration of your burners, you may be able to get the platter to fit across two burners.
Once your platter is pre-heated on the stove top, it works very well as a smooth griddle for pancakes, eggs, fried rice, grilled cheese, paninis, and everyone's favorite food: bacon.
Take the platter outside and put it on your gas or charcoal grill. It will prevent smaller items from falling between the grates. It also won't let flames to directly contact the food which can be good if whatever your cooking is somewhat delicate or has a tendency to catch fire.
The platter does come preseasoned from the factory. However, in my experience, it is a bit weak and needs a bit of help. My process for building up the seasoning on a new pan, or giving a boost to used ones is to warm the piece on the stovetop and lightly coat it with vegetable (soybean) oil or vegetable shortening. I then place the piece in a 500-degree oven (upside-down so excess oil won't pool) for one hour. After the hour is up, I turn the oven off and leave the piece in there until it is cool. This process will create smoke, so be sure to turn your range hood on and/or open a window.
The only negative to this pan is its size. The cooking surface is less than 12x15 probably closer to 10x13. Lodge needs to make a 15x20 version to fully occupy two burners on a typical stove.
The standard warnings about cast iron apply to this platter: it's heavy, it takes time to heat up and cool down, it's not dishwasher safe, it will rust if you scour it and soak it, and you shouldn't use soap or detergent on it.

The name "Platter" can really be misleading for this pan. We have found that it substitutes great for a cookie sheet and most anything else that you would use a cookie sheet for. Matt shows you this cookie sheet in our video and he goes over its finer qualities!

I use cast iron pretty much exclusively at this point, so I purchased two of these platters to replace cookie sheets. They're great! I don't normally love Lodge's pre seasoning, but these pans really were non-stick upon arrival (not that that stopped me from applying my own coat of seasoning anyway...).Size-wise they're great as well. I've used them to bake cookies (each platter holds 9 good-sized cookies), make fries for two people (two large potatoes worth), bake two personal-size thin crust pizzas (I choose these over my pizza stone for ease of use), and warm cheesy, gooey nachos. In all those applications, nothing ever stuck to the platters, they wiped clean with just paper towel, and I was able to store them easily. I definitely recommend you get one or two of these!
