BarBFork Promotional Digital
Formerly, I'd cut nicks into the edge of a steak to see how the cooking was progressing. With this lil' guy, I just poke it into the 'work' occasionally, and get very good results without a tattered looking meal. I find I have to adjust my expectations slightly it tends to have you cook things a little more for any "preference" title (as in its "Medium" is my "Well Done"). As you use it, you'll get used to this and choose your done-ness accordingly. Great tool, safer cooking. This item is not as good as it's predecessor. It takes too long to read, while your fingers begin to burn. Wish I could find the older version.

This has really worked well for me when bbq'ing. Handy to not have to put it down and pick up something else to turn the meat. I store it in my kitchen and admit to having used it there too.Read Best Reviews of BarBFork Promotional Digital Here
After having had a temperature fork, which worked great and was very reliable for many years, we purchased this fork in December 2012. After 3 months of constant frustration and inaccurate reading, we are ditching this fork for good. The ditigal display turned itself on when stored in the drawer, only resort was to remove the batteries. We are saving the batteries and cut our losses on this fork. Hopefully our next one will be better, but definitely not this model!Want BarBFork Promotional Digital Discount?
Before buying this product, I was looking for a thermometer that could easily measure the insides of meat quickly and efficiently without chopping the thing to shreds. Being a college student, I (yet again) opted for the less expensive products, which I thought were just as good--if not better--than the more expensive ones. And yet again, the sellers on Amazon prove me wrong.
Buying Price: $12.90
Not only is the thermometer slightly large for its intended purpose (it measures about 13 inches in length), but it also does a very poor job at *efficiently* measuring the temperature of meats. Granted, it will measure temperature within a wide range (it even read my indoor room temperature at 74°F), but it just takes a while for the thing to "warm up", so to speak. For me, while cooking chicken in a skillet, it took anywhere between 15 and 25 seconds for the thermometer to gauge an accurate reading, which I believe is definitely too long for any serious chef, especially if your prized poultry is burning on the stovetop or grill. The digital reading is a very nice feature to have at such a low price, but if it gives a reading slower than an analog thermometer, I'd rather take the analog's speed over the digital's accuracy.
In addition to this, the slow reading times are even more negatively affected in that the tips of the thermometer are slightly large for smaller cuts of meat. While they seem small in the picture, the tips are actually far bigger than I had hoped for, resembling the shape of a pencil. The tips are quite sharp (and the manufacturer was smart to include hard plastic protectors so you don't poke yourself), but they can leave somewhat large, unsightly holes in the meat you're trying to cook--defeating your attempts to make it look as normal as possible.
There are several pre-defined temperatures on the thermometer (Well-Done, Medium, Rare, and Very Rare), which are the same for different cuts of meat, but these temperatures can be listed directly below the average temperature for comparison, which is extremely helpful for meat novices like me who do not know that there isn't a "Rare" option for chicken (oops, time to fix that bad habit). However, this pro is downplayed by the fact that once again, it takes quite some time for the temperature to gauge an accurate reading. I cannot say for sure how accurate the reference temperatures are, but I am fairly certain that they correspond to, or exceed, the FDA's recommendations on the temperatures for cooking meat, which ensures that you have non of that yucky bacteria infesting your food and the stomachs of those you cook for.
Every time this thermometer shows a potential for a good feature, it is downplayed by the problematic nature of the other features. This digital thermometer has a blue LED backlight for the screen, in case you live by cooking meat inside a dark cave and accidentally run across this piece of technology. The feature was well thought-out, but poorly implemented by a lack of a power button. The LED light shuts itself off after about half a minute (and turns on again upon pushing a button), but the digital display remains running for a full couple of minutes before the entire thermometer turns off. It would have been nice to have a power button to conserve batteries, as this does use a couple AAA batteries.
This thermometer is very light, and can act as a spatula in a pinch (due to its thick metal tips), or a fork for moving that food onto your plate (if you don't mind small holes in your meat), which is how I primarily use it now.
Bottom line:
A well thought-out product, but poorly implemented and designed. Consider buying a more expensive thermometer that gives a faster reading time for those hard-core grillers or meat fans. It does its job, but if you are somewhat impatient and perfectionist regarding your food, opt for the smaller, faster thermometers.

Charcoal Companion Non-Stick Reversible Roasting / Rib Rack
This rack is very well made and sturdy. It says it has a non-stick coating, but you will need to treat it as if it does not. The rack heats up faster than the meat, so meat will pretty much stick to it wherever it touches unless it is treated with some oil. The first three racks of ribs I put on the rack (without treating it) got pretty well torn up trying to get them off.
When used as a rib rack, the dividers are not very tall nor do they have a lot of space between them, so if you want the best results with your ribs (especially spareribs), you will need to leave an empty slot between each rack to give the smoke a chance to surround the ribs. Also, the rack is a little small for spareribs. If you are doing spares, you may need a second rack, one for each end. It works well for baby back ribs, though, as far as size.
You may also want to slide a metal grate (such as a cooling rack) into the dividers with the spareribs to give them some more support as the ribs tend to flop over the top.
Overall a good addition to an avid griller/smoker's cooking arsenal. I recommend it to my friends that come over who want to get a smoker.the rack is very sturdy and versatile. Be sure to spray with oil before using or food will stick and is difficult to remove.

Even though this rack arrived with a broken weld on one of the dividing joints, it still worked fine and was easy to clean. It needs to be pointed out that you wouldn't want to fill all the slots with ribs in a 22.5" weber because some of the ribs would be directly over the coals. I could do 4 racks of baby backs and that is more than enough for 99.9% of my needs. I haven't tried the roasting side yet, but I'm sure it is also easy to clean. Had it not been for the bad weld, this would have received a 5 star rating.Product update 9/24/2012. After about 5 or 6 uses at least half of the welds broke rendering it useless. If the welds were good the 5 star rating would still apply, but I'm going to have NOT Recommend this product due to the shoddy workmanship.

This sturdy grill/oven rack will hold 3 racks of baby back or spare ribs if you cut them in half. The height of the arches supports the ribs well and are wide enough to handle beef ribs as well as pork. Reverse it, and it will easily hold a roast, whole poultry or ham and fit into a 9x13 pan if desired. While the rack is coated and generously labeled "non-stick," be sure to spray or wipe it with oil before use to make cleanup easier.Want Charcoal Companion Non-Stick Reversible Roasting / Rib Rack Discount?

Flavorwood Grill Smoke Can
Anyway... back to the product.
The can is about the size of a can of tuna, with a hole punched right on the top. Just peal off the sticker, covering the hole, and set it right in with the coals.
It pumps out smoke for a good bit of time... and steadily.
I did some burgers and black beans, and it kept smoking throughout the whole time.
If you want mesquite flavor and not a whole lot of stuff, this can will do ya good.
It'd work good for tail-gaiting, or any place where load-and-go barbecuing is going on.

Nutone 9093WH Deluxe Heat-A-Ventlite 70 CFM 1500-Watt Heater with Ventilator and Incandescent Ceili
- 4-function ceiling unit combines fan-forced heater, air ventilator, and light/night light
- Diecast grille with pebble-texture bezel; 8-inch-diameter glass lens; auto reset thermal protection
- 1500-watt 70 CFM heater; electronically balanced centrifugal blower wheel for even heat distribution
- Uses a 100-watt bulb for the light and a 7-watt bulb for the night light (bulbs not included)
- Measures 13-1/4 inches in diameter by 7-1/2 inches deep; on/off wall switch included
The unit is heavy enough that it will get a bit tiresome installing it, but it's very sturdy overall. I am noticing some rattling issues, but it may not be level (there were three of us working on this, and I haven't had a chance to "check their work" yet...). Loosening the grille seems to silence the rattling somewhat.
We may just need to look things over again, but this fan doesn't pass the toilet paper test, at all. Holding a long, loose piece of tissue ON the fan doesn't even move the paper one iota. We may have something blocking the damper, but honestly, if we do everything we know to and there is still no suction? Those three stars are dropping to one. [09/16/11: We discovered that for whatever reason, using 2-ply toilet paper for your test yields the aforementioned results. 1-ply works just fine. hehe!]
The "heater" reminds me of a pellet stove in that it blows a lot of cold air around before the unit warms up; and even after warming up, the air still felt chilly because of the force of the fan (why can't the vent be this powerful and the heater be as calm as the vent??).
The particular model for sale on Amazon only comes with a white grille, but if you search the web for Nutone 9093CH you can find some sites offering the unit in chrome (likewise, there is a brass grille available as well. And the same site will sell you a grille only in the style of your choosing. Handy info to have if you're looking for this unit in something other than white. This Nutone heater-vent is a replacement for a orginal installation. This was a perfect fit with the same wiring color code and hardware. The one I replaced had been in the house for over 30 years.
The shipment was on time and packaged great. The heater is very functional and puts out a lot of heat from the ceiling. At first I was was concerned it would not heat as much as a floor heater no problem. It is fairly quiet for it's output but would not win first prize. The vent and fan are about even in their noise. The nite lite feature designed for the old pre fluorescent days is a little silly as it only has space for a 7 watt small incandescent which draws 50% of a fluorescent bulb likely used. We still use it, however.I purchased this NuTone Heat-a-Ventlite to replace an 18 year-old NuTone model in our most used bathroom. Although I'm a fairly handy guy, I could not believe how easy it was to replace. NuTone should be commended for NOT changing dimensions, wiring schematics, etc. I simply unplugged the wiring harness, tilted out the old unit, tilted in the new unit and plugged the old wiring harness back in. It took me longer to clean the fixture cavity than it did to replace the unit. I would Highly recommend this product if you're replacing a previous NuTone model.Replaced a similar heater by Nutone we had for over 20 years. This new one is very quiet, but does not get as hot as the older one. The air coming from the newer one gets to 148 degrees while the older one registered over 170 degrees. Replaced the newer heater box with the older one, but the temperature did not change. So I assume the amount of power to the box has been intentionally reduced, possibly as a safety measure.

Babycakes Cake Pop Maker: CP-94LV - Purple
I could not have been more wrong. My very first time, I filled the cups as instructed. I was just sure that the bottom would be overdone on the ones I filled first. The great news is that every one was perfectly round and done on all sides and in the middle! The couple that got a little too full, flattened out a nice little rim that was easy to knock off so they were perfectly round as well.
I have tried several cake mixes and even bread/muffin mixes that work just great. I really am surprised at what a good job the inexpensive little machine does.
Hint: you will need more than the one stand provided, so keep the packing styrofoam wedge from your next box and make holes with an ice pick. You'll have all the cake pop holders you need to dip and ice.

I think the product is a great idea...I could not get the pops to look like the picture shown of this product. Instead of cake mix, I use brownie mix (I've tried a lot of different, and now just get whatever is on sale, they all work fine) One box of mix makes 4 dozen balls. Grandkids go nuts for them, co-workers go nuts for them, and I haven't had to worry about what to bring to a potluck since I baught this. Oh, I don't worry about sticks or frosting, just put them in a bowl and they will dissappear every time.Want Babycakes Cake Pop Maker: CP-94LV - Purple Discount?
I was looking at purchasing something like this as a birthday present. However, I noticed that there are two model numbers for seemingly the same product. The price difference is also almost doubled (except that it is currently on sale). Model #CP-12 is regularly priced at $50 and the over 70 reviews give it an above average rating, though there were some major overheating issues. Model #CP-94LV is $100 with only 12 reviews, however most of those are excellent reviews.I get that maybe the manufacturer updated the product and the number changed, updating it maybe have even cost a little bit more so I can also see the price jump. However, ANY other site that I search for the CP-94LV lists it at/around $30, so why is it supposed to be regularly priced at $100 on Amazon from Prestige Depot?? Not even the Babycakes website has the #CP-94LV model.
I'll just go to Target instead.
Edit: Just noticed that the CP-94LV model includes a filling injector, so I can see charging an extra $50 for that (NOT).

Mr. Heater 75,000 BTU 12-Foot Propane Hose Assembly #F273702
1. It allows the use of a larger LP tank (I have a 20 lb cylinder). I am certain the savings from buying LP fuel in bulk will pay for the hose.
2. You can locate the bulk tank a good distance away from the lit heater. I use the heater primarily in my garage, and with the hose I can put the heater up on a shelf or on the workbench, off the floor, and still have the bulk tank in a convenient and safe spot.
3. The hose can be used with any propane appliance that uses disposable propane cylinders.
Here's an essential safety tip when using this hose: be sure to shut/close the valve on the bulk tank BEFORE you remove the hose from the tank. It's possible to remove the hose end from the bulk tank without closing the tank valve and you will quickly find out that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is another name for stinky, oily mess when it comes squirting out of the valve as I've done.I bought two of these hoses to attach to two 20lb propane tanks. Attaching to 20lb propane tanks is a huge savings over using the individual 1 quart propane cyclinders. Hoses work very well. The only thing to remember when attaching the hose to 20lb propane tanks is that the couplings are left hand threaded (i.e. you must turn to the left to tighten).

If you are buying the Mr. Buddy Heater, this hose (or the 5' model) are definately needed. By using the larger (20lb or bigger) tanks you have many more hours of operation without having to change the disposable tanks. This hose will also allow you to use bulk tanks with any propane appliance that accepts the disposable tanks (stoves, lantern, etc.).Read Best Reviews of Mr. Heater 75,000 BTU 12-Foot Propane Hose Assembly #F273702 Here
I bought this extended hose to keep the radiant heater hanging on the ceiling in my garage while allowing the tank to be a good distance away. While the POL style fitting worked fine for the 20Lb propane tank I have but the other end does NOT fit in the MH40LP gas inlet. It would've been nice to know what parts I needed before hand, now I will have to go to homedepot and do research on the parts I need or having to once again order off the internet and wait...Want Mr. Heater 75,000 BTU 12-Foot Propane Hose Assembly #F273702 Discount?
This is the hose you need to hook up your Buddy heater to a larger (20 lbs) propane tank. This hose is all you need. You don't need anything else. You don't need a regulator. However, adding a fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea.
Both ends of this hose are suggested to be hand-tightened. Fine. However, I couldn't get mine to pass gas. The fitting going into the heater needed another 1/8" of turn at which point the gas flowed freely. Apparently the fitting is quite sensitive. This required a wrench as I had tightened it as much as possible, by hand. You may, or may not, need to do this.
The hose itself is of good quality, and so are the brass fittings. Nevertheless, the hose needs protection from abrasion and assorted abuse. As a reminder, recall that the fitting going into the propane tank must be turned counter-clock-wise to tighten, as opposed to normal threading which is turned clock-wise to tighten. Finally, remember to turn off the gas at the propane tank, and letting the heater burn off the gas in the line, so as not to turn the Plasticizer in the hose into gunk, which would clog up your heater.
(There is another hose, without the Plasticizer being sold by Mr Heater, but of course, having no Plasticizer, that hose will be stiff as heck.)
