Motorhead Products NFL 4-Piece BBQ Grilling Utensil Set

NFL Pittsburgh Steelers 4-Piece Barbecue SetThis is the 2nd time I've been invited to write a review of this purchase ... long story, but I can sum it up ( again ) in 4 words: GREAT ITEM, HORRIBLE SELLER.

The Product itself was good. I bought it as a christmas present. Shipping was not. I placed my order on Decmember 13th (gaurenteed by dec. 24). And it said it sould ship by December 17. but once shipped it whould take 3-5 days. I got an e-mail that said it was shipped on december 14th, and they gave me a tracking number so I figured that 5 days it would arrive by friday december 21st. 5 days from monday. On Monday I tried to track it and the number they gave me didn't work, so I e-mailed the company and they e-mail me back on wednesday with the correct shipping number. I tried to track it again and it said the number was there but no information yet. I really needed the package by friday and it never came. So on the following wednesday dec 26 i got my package. Then I had to pay to ship the present to the person it was supposed to get it. When I finaly tracked the package. It looks like the setup the shipping on friday december 14th. But never actually shipped the package till tuesday december 18th. When I tried to e-mail them about it, I got a responce that they were closed till Jan 2nd. Then I never heard from them again. I would Suggest buying the product from a more reliable source. Maybe NFL.com.

I kind of expected these to be a little lower quality due to the branding, but no way. Good stuff and priced very fair.

Chefs Design Cast Aluminum Single Burner Reversible Grill/Griddle - Non-stick

Chefs Design Cast Aluminum Single Burner Reversible Grill/Griddle - Non-stickThis griddle works very well (I have a gas range). About 15 years ago I purchased a double burner griddle from this manufacturer, and it also works very well. I am pleased that they have kept the same quality.

But remember, it is necessary to use low/medium heat (low heat is most successful), and to preheat the griddle, as aluminum needs time to heat evenly all over. It is best to use the old test of a few drops of cold water to determine if the griddle is ready; if the water sizzles and dances around, the griddle is ready to use). An excellent product. And cleanup is a breeze.

Mr Bar B Q 06015SSX Long Handle Dual Grill Brush

Mr Bar B Q 06015SSX Long Handle Dual Grill BrushWell priced, which is always a concern for me. This useful grill brush has three types of cleaning abilities and seems to be very sturdy and may last longer than most brushes I have tried. It works very well and I am very happy with my purchase.

Lodge Original Finish Grill Press

Lodge Original Finish Grill PressNice addition to your kitchen if you are cooking bacon, which tend to curl up. The bottom is smooth, with no places for food to catch and hide.

Cavet, the first one I had, the spring on the handle broke. (the wire spring is welded to the wire handle, it must have been overheated as the wire spring broke loose from the handle. Not incapacitating it, as the spring just rolls in you hand, but annoying.) I wrote Lodge Mfg, and they sent a replacement which has worked fine ever since. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Requires some assembly, a screwdriver and a small wrench. Easy for any handyperson to do.

I like the heft of cast iron, and the cooking results, too. I have well-seasoned skillets handed down from my grandmother. But every once in a while you come across something so darned "obvious" that you just have to smile. This is one of them. You can use it on the grill or in a skillet. Flat bacon is only one of MANY uses. The handle is also old-fashioned. It dissipates heat pretty fast, so unless you're using it in an oven or on a closed grill, I haven't found any problem.

I've used mine for years and it should last years more -paid $5. I use it for steaks, chops and burgers. Placing the weight on food for a couple of minutes presses the meat down on the grill and gives you the grill marks that add flavor and looks great when served. You should season the press before using it and this is explained in the instructions. If you don't season it properly food can stick to the press.

I have used this grill press for many cooking items. Besides bacon and other meats, it is wonderful for panni and other sandwiches....Highly recommended.

Want Lodge Original Finish Grill Press Discount?

The tools: 1 small can of Crisco. A gauze pad to avoid greasy fingers. An oven. An infared temperature tool to keep the oven temp 'honest'...set to 350 degrees.

Place well Criscoed Lodge item in oven, bake for at least an hour, turn off oven, when object is cool enough to remove do that and reapply Crisco all over it. Back into a 350 oven. Do the same thing, again & again. Soon you will see a nice amber colored varnish all over your Lodge piece. And it will be non-stick. Coupled with a properly seasoned skillet bacon can be flipped over with tongs and not have to be pried up with a spatula. It's a little bit amazing, compared to having to chisel up pressed bacon from " non-stick "

Cut your bacon packages into thirds, and that should render the proper size for bacon strips on sandwiches...flat bacon strips, that is. This press can ' level ' four strips.

Connoisseur Probe Thermometer

Connoisseur Probe ThermometerOur old wireless thermometer died and this was the closest item I could find (same brand). During the first stages of cooking the unit would shut off every 15 min. or so. I had to reset it several times, kinda frustrating. However, once the mid pint time of cooking was reached (when the temp was changing more rapidly) the thermometer performed great. I contacted the manufacturer and they stated that during the initial cooking process we may experience this problem because the temp is not changing quickly enough for the unit to respond and therefore it shuts off. It was a learning experience albeit slightly frustrating as the old unit did not do this. I am still a fan of the wireless remote thermometer.

A good deal for a hot oven cooking job...but not so good for a smoker/bbq unit...the device will repeatedly shut off as we Low & Slow smokers usually cook at 225 F ... not enough to raise the internal temp rapidly enough for the auto shut-off (inactivity) feature.

Even when the internal temp is around 160F a pork butt being smoked will stall at about that temp for a few hours, then slooowly rise; rendering this unit unfit for bbq-ing...great for grilling & roasting though.

Telescopic Marshmallow / BBQ Fork - Set of 4 - Assorted Colors

Telescopic Marshmallow / BBQ Fork - Set of 4 - Assorted Colors
  • Set of 4 Telescopic Marshmallow / BBQ Forks
  • Colors on handles will vary

We go camping a lot and making smores and toasted marshmallows is always part of our ritual and was delighted find to buy these. We go all out camping with too many luxuries (movie projector and screen, inflatable couch -not really roughing it) so between a family 5 and camping and food our car is packed!! What we do is put all of our camping gear in a large cooler and then empty the cooler and the put drinks/food and ice in it. We had the long Coleman forks but they didn't fit in the cooler == other BBQ forks on Amazon were more for hot dogs only and too wide to ensure that two prongs would pierce marshmallows. These Cooking Concepts seemed to be an ideal item for an unmet need. We go ours from joe or john bargains on Amazon and they arrived quickly and seem to fit the bill -the ones I got are about 10 or so inches collapsed as the picture shows and about 24-28 inches extended which is safe and longer than our old forks for the kids. The spacing between prongs were great for marshmallows and therefor would be good for hot dogs too. The different color collar also made it easy for everyone to know which was their fork. We've used them three times last summer and so far have held up pretty well. I read another reviewers' comment before buying and have to keep in mind these are like antennas with forks at the end of them and like extendable radio antennas you do have to handle with some care remind the kids! I also like that we can collapse them and keep them on the picnic table without worrying that someone will walk into them or poke their eyes out. Cleaning sticky marshmallows off them was a snap as we usually put the forks in a paper or plastic cup with 2-2 1/2 inches of water after use and let them sit overnight and they easily wipe clean with a paper towel the following morning. For the price of 4 sticks and convenience this was a nice find and at less $25 for four of these I feel I got my monies worth already. Others I've seen were almost the same price for just 2 forks. I see Amazon is sold out of these and will likely get more for next summer since my kids now bring their friends camping.

These sticks are horrible. They are cheap. Two of them broke the very first time we tried to use them. I only bought them a few weeks ago. I scrubbed and scrubbed the other two to get them clean. Nope. I actually scrubbed off the coating, they are so cheap. Going in the trash. I wish I could rate them no stars.

I like the color coding. As a vegetarian, I don't like my campsticks to get mixed up with a meat eater's stick.

Aside from the colors, it's an ordinary telescoping campstick fork. I like them, they're a lot easier than searching the woods for a good roasting stick.

These were a little flimsy, but work just fine.

Cabcool 1201-2 Two-Single 120mm Kits with Thermal Control

Cabcool 1201-2 Two-Single 120mm Kits with Thermal ControlAt close $90 it had better work, and it does.

I was hoping it would have been worth the money; it has definitely lowered the inside temperature of my entertainment center.

To give you some background on why I was looking into this, I have multiple pieces of equipment inside my entertainment center, an Onkyo receiver that gets very hot, an original PS3 and they definitely run very hot, an Xbox 360, my router and NAS, and my cable box and DVD.

I used to keep the doors open to keep the doors open, but I have a 10 month old in the house and now have to keep the doors closed to keep my son out.

I finally got it all hooked up tonight and ran my ps3 for about an 2 hours; normally it would be super hot inside the cabinet, but tonight after setting it all up I now have no fears about keeping the front doors closed and overheating my electronics.

Great Product at least in my initial observations, remember this is my first night with it, and first impressions are very good so far, if it stops working or fails, I will update this post.

I have these cooling the home theater equipment. They do a very good job and dnt make any noise. I love the fact that they dont run when they're not needed. They cost a lot, but work very well.

Buy Cabcool 1201-2 Two-Single 120mm Kits with Thermal Control Now

I needed to buy fans for my TV cabinet because keeping the doors closed meant that everything would get too hot. I have a toddler at home so I needed to keep it all closed. I went with this kit because I knew that I wanted thermal control, at least 2 fans, and a means to make the final project look fit and finished. The kit comes with everything I needed. You can find the stuff separately for a little cheaper, but I didn't think tracking all the individual parts was worth the savings.

Installation involves cutting into your media cabinet with a saw. Make sure you measure properly and make sure the holes are level before cutting. The face plates, grill, and screen are what attracted me to this kit. Everything was meant to fit together. I'll upload pictures of my final product, as well.

The thermal controller works well too. DO NOT remove the insulation on the thermal sensor. There is a toggle switch for constant on fan or thermal controlled fan. When the fan is off, the LED is red and when it comes on automatically, it is bright green. When you have it on constant on, it's a yellow-green LED that lights up. That way you can tell if that fans are working because they are pretty quiet fans. When the TV is on and cabinet doors are closed, you wont hear the fans at all, but you can see the light. I put the switch farther back in the cabinet so the LEDs are not visible while watching TV.

The fan displaces enough air to make sure that my HTPC and receiver stay cool. I have an Onkyo receiver that is notorious for getting too hot, thus it heats up my HTPC too causing it to shut off. These fans keep it all cool.

I have the fans set up so that one is for intake of cool air and the other is the exhaust of hot air. Intake is at the bottom of the cabinet and exhaust is at the top. I also bought another fan from a local computer store for cheap and installed it into the shelf. The shelf fan pulls hot air from the bottom compartment to the top compartment where the exhaust can expel it. All three fans are connected to the same thermal sensor so they all turn on at the same time. You will need to plan a good airflow pathway in order for this system to truly be effective. I will post pics of my set up, as well.

Overall, this little project took about 2.5 hours from start to finish, including cable management and clean up. Post questions in the comments and I'll answer them.

Great kit, Coolerguys!

The fans did exactly what I was looking for. They keep my components cool enough to close my entertainment cabinet doors; the fans are quiet, and the install instructions were very helpful.

Had a built-in cabinet installed. It contains all of my video equipment in one section, and in another is a laptop used as a house server, along with router, Comcast box, and printers. I installed one of the fans in each section, and they work beautifully. I have to check closely to see if they are running because they are so quiet. Problem solved.

Lodge A1-410 Sportsman's Grill Cover

Lodge A1-410 Sportsman's Grill CoverI never thought I would write a review of a grill cover, but Amazon dared me! Here's the skinny. The cover fits tightly but it is a tad short to cover the legs all the way down to their tips with its strong elastic edge. No big deal, the cast iron legs are not in danger of rusting out. I've had mine out on the patio in the Kansas sun for two summers and it has faded to a gray color on top, still black on the bottom, no big deal from my view either. But one little annoyance is that the seams on the fabric (all the way around the top edge when it is on) leak. So in a heavy rain water will drip inside and lead to surface rusting. That kind of defeats the purpose of the cover. This can probably be solved with the use of tent seam sealer. Are there awards for this kind of vital, investigative consumer reporting? The grill is great!

(Husband writing review:) I use my Lodge Sportsman as often as possible, but sometimes it still has to go into storage for a while. This is a rugged cover that is custom fit, and I appreciate how much cleaner my grill is when I pull it out. Keeps the dust and cobwebs to a minimum; keeps the rain out if you forget and leave it outside. It's well worth it if you're going to invest in the grill.

Buy Lodge A1-410 Sportsman's Grill Cover Now

I got both the grill and this cover last week. Contrary to what one of the reviews says here, it fits perfectly with no shortage at the bottom. I have provided my own photograph at the top of this page that shows the cover on my grill. The elastic at the bottom of the cover allows it to pull tight UNDER the feet of the grill allowing very little chance of rain getting directly on the grill. You're still going to have to put up with the possibility of rust on the grill simply from moisture in the air, but at least it won't be raining on it.

This cover is a dream come true ... I would always use anything handy to cover my grill .... but it never fit tight and would blow away and let water in . This cover does the trick and it fits perfectly ! It keeps your grill dry and extends the life of your grill . Several hours after grilling I totally clean the grill of ashes .... I Then Spray the Grill with Cooking Spray and I cover the Grill with this Cover .... My Grill almost looks new and I know it will extend the life of the Grill by years... What a " Grate Idea".

The funny thing about this grill cover is that it is incredibly flammable. Even after you've dumped the coals and any remaining embers out of the grill, the (little bit of) heat retained by the grill itself may be enough to melt the cover beyond usefulness. I've had to buy three of them for this reason. It would be better if it was less plasticky, but, for the most part I like it and it does the job.

Weber 8836 Gourmet BBQ System Pizza Stone with Carry Rack

Weber 8836 Gourmet BBQ System Pizza Stone with Carry RackI have a pizza stone for my oven but was concerned it might crack on the grill since the heat was higher. This stone sits directly on the grill so it gets super hot. I make my own gluten-free pizza and this was by far, the crispest crust I've made. The secret to crispy crust is to pre-cook the crust before you add the toppings; otherwise the cheese is cooked before the bottom is brown. Also, use the high setting on the grill, assuming you have gas. Even my husband commented that this was one of the best pizzas I had made. Yum!

We have used it make 4 pizzas so far. It heats evenly. Make sure you spray some cooking spray on it prior to putting a pizza on it.

CabCool 802 Lite Dual 80mm Fan Cooling Kit for Cabinet & Home Theaters

CabCool 802 Lite Dual 80mm Fan Cooling Kit for Cabinet & Home TheatersI bought this fan kit to keep the cabinet housing my home theater equipment from getting too hot. Upon opening the package and inspecting the components, I called CoolGuys because I thought I was missing a connector my bad for not reading the instructions beforehand. They answered the call quickly and explained how the unit needed to be connected so, no missing part. I assembled the kit in about 5 mins. All the materials seem to be sturdy and of good quality. Some posters here have complained about mounting holes not be properly aligned. I did not experience this at all. I installed it in my cabinet in another 5 mins. The fans are absolutely quiet you can't even hear them at arm's length. Great product and excellent customer service. I definitely recommend this kit.

The assembly was a snap and it installed in about 20 minutes. I tried the fans before I cut the opening and was shocked that I couldn't even hear them running 10 inches from me! They work great.

This kit is very well built and seems to consist of solid parts. It took me about 5 minutes to assemble and install it. The fans definitely move a lot of air and keep my components cool, however, the fans have been getting louder everyday. Upon initial installation, they were almost silent, but now I can hear them from across the room. I am not sure if the fans are going bad so I may be seeking a replacement/return.

When I got this and plugged it in to test it I thought the fans may be lacking in ability to move air but once I mounted them in my media cabinet I realized they work very well. My cabinet consist of a Power Conditioner, Receiver, Satellite TV receiver, PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, Apple TV, Wireless Router, and Modem. If I had more than one thing on at a time it would get very hot. Not since I installed these quiet fans.

We needed a fan at work to cool a cabinet that we decided to put a small form factor computer in. We left the computer on and the cabinet would heat up to unacceptable levels. We decided to cut out squares and add some sort of cooling fan. After searching the internet we decided on two of these. The best part is how quiet they are. They are cooling the cabinet now and I don't see us having any over heating problems. A++

West Bend 76225 10-by-18-Inch Electric Nonstick Griddle

West Bend 76225 10-by-18-Inch Electric Nonstick GriddleGriddle works great. Small enough to store in our travel trailer but big enough to cook everything we need. First attempt at pancakes I had temp too high. It did burn all of them evenly though. No hot spots or cool spots. Adjusted temp and all is well. Would reccommend to others.

My expensive B & D quit cooking on the edges after a few of uses, plus the surface became VERY sticky. When I took the WB out of the box I was appalled by the cheapness and light weight of the product. Surprise...I have used it now for about a year (75-100 times). No sticky surface and still cooks to the VERY edge. Buy it!

Bradley Digital 6-Rack Smoker

Bradley Digital 6-Rack SmokerI just received this machine. I owned an original Bradley Smoker that gave up the ghost. When I saw the digital one for sale I thought that it would be more precise and a "set and forget" solution to smoking. I have tried it four times now and have discovered that the temperature variation on the unit is as much as 28 degrees over the set point and as much as 16 below the set point for a temp swing of 44 degrees. It turns out that Bradley has a forum for owners and those interested (look at their web site). Quite a number of new owners have been dismayed and disappointed in the temp swing on this unit. When I called Bradley they just said "that's the way it is with this unit" and told me it is similar to my house oven. I doubt that my home ever varies that much. The cycle time for this variation is 15-20 minutes so the food is never at the set point for very long. I don't recall swings like this with my old one.

If you look carefully at what you get for the hefty premium, it is not much. The basic unit has the automatic biscuit feed and when its out of biscuits there is no more smoke so the smoke timer on the new one means nothing. The timer on the cooking side has a time limit according to the Bradley owners so you can't leave it more than ten hours without going out and resetting it. The temperature control is not reliable so what do you get for the extra bucks. Not much to my way of thinking.

By the way, look at the photo carefully. This unit is not aluminum. It has a door that is painted an aluminum color and the body is black. I have to say that the fit and finish is very nice on the unit.

My advice is buy the original model and save yourself the extra bucks.

I have had this unit for a little over 2 years now and I have used it at least 50 or more times. It is very easy to set up. You have three "plugs". One is a chord that runs from the smoker box to the smoker. Then another plug that does the same. Finally you have the plug that powers the unit. Simple. Inside you find the bowl that holds water, obviously 6 racks, drip tray...normal stuff. Some people debate on this or the 4 rack version. Go bigger every time when it comes to bbq. You might say you would never use it but you are wrong. Every time I am invited to a get together I am always asked to smoke something. People buy the meat, I do the prep and the cooking. Just did 2 12lb turkeys on Sunday. By the way, 2 12lb turkeys fit perfectly. I have done 4 8lb pork shoulders as well. No problems.

Another nice thing about this smoker is the ability to cold smoke. Though some mods need to be done before you can do, or you need to live in a cold area, but cold smoking cheese is great. Every winter I smoke enough cheese to put WI to shame.

The instructions are easy to follow for the most part. I did months of research before I bought this so I was well prepared for what I was getting into. If you can't find the answer in the directions go to the bradley forum, those guys over there are the best at helping you out.

The negatives about this smoker, as one reviewer already pointed out, the temp is ungodly wrong. I bought a nice double, wireless, thermometer. Absolutely essential for smoking, no matter what smoker you have. This thing tells me what the temp of the smoker and the meat is, as well as alarms that I can set. So if my smoker drops to a very low temp, say below 100 degrees, an alarm will go off. This is good in case the unit becomes unplugged, or you and your buddies have had a few too many and forgot to reset the cooker timer. (By the way, 10 hours is plenty of time. No, meat is usually not done by then, but within 10 hours you are guaranteed to walk outside and check on your smoker at least once) The other problem I have with the temp is the lack of an extremely high temp. To get a good bark on a Boston butt sometimes requires a temp of over 300. That can be a problem with the bradley. Poultry skin comes out crispy either way, and shoulders are perfect, sometimes I just want a little more. Other than the temp, this thing is perfect.

I love this unit. If you have been using wood smokers, water smokers, vertical smokers, offset smokers, your old bbq as a smoker (which I have used all of these)....whatever, this unit will be a welcomed, headache free, addition.

Buy Bradley Digital 6-Rack Smoker Now

I had just bought the four rack smoker and came to the realization that I should have bought the six rack. I like the idea of the digital smoker as I can set it and go away or to bed for that matter and not have to worry if I am over heating and burning food. I would say both units are good. but if you are only smoking once or twice a month the manual unit is fine but daily like I do spend the extra money

Read Best Reviews of Bradley Digital 6-Rack Smoker Here

I was really excited to get this product and spent over a year trying to get it to work. After a year and a bunch of research I came to the conclusion that the product is crap. You are welcome to do your own research but I think what you will find is that this product is very easy to use. However, the ease of use comes at the cost of a smoker that does an unsatisfactory job of actually smoking. As you know the key to good smoking is maintaing conistant heat and the Bradley is simply not designed to do this.

My list of issues are as follows:

1) The six rack smoker has the same heating element as the four rack smoker. So while it is significanlty larger it has no more power than the smaller model. I believe its heating element is only like 500 watts and I believe my wifes hair dryer has more power than that.

2) The heating element in the smoker is way underpowered for the six rack unit (and I suspect the four rack one as well). It takes over an hour to heat up to 200 degrees and then drops way down when you open it up to put the food in and takes well in excess of another hour to get back up to tempeture. It was so under powered that I would just leave the unit set at its highest setting, like 300 degrees, and I do not think I ever got the unit up past 250 degrees. Since it was so underpowered it took very long cook so that towards the end of my use with it, after the smoke had set, I would take the food out and put it on the gas barbque at 250 degrees to finish off.

3) Owing to the design every time you have to open the unit to check on the food you loss all of the heat (i.e. there is no effective heat sink) which then takes for ever heat up. Think about it, to service the unit you have to open the door competely allows all the heat to escape.

4) the design of the heating element creates hot spots along the back of unit and it is significanly hotter at the bottom than it is at the top. Bradley themselves recommend rotating the racks front to back and top to bottom to get an even cooking. This means you need to open the door which allows all the heat to escape.

5) the digital thermostat is located just above the heating element so it reads high. The spread between the tempeture reading on the digital unit and one taken manually from the top of the unit is like 30 degrees.

6) the digital thermostat has like a 20 degree varience between starting and stoping when it is at tempature. Do research, I read that people recommend buying the orginal and an after market digital thermostat which is far superiour and overall cheaper than buying the digital Bradley.

7) An electric smoker will not give you a smoke ring. The smoke ring comes from a chemical reaction related to the carbon burning off from charcol or wood. The smoke ring is a sign of good smoked food.

My reasoning for giving it 2 stars is because the smoke generator works wonderfully well.

The cons in my humble opinion so far out weight the pro's that a cheap guy like me gave the Bradley away. Spending almost $500 on a smoker to dump it becasue it does not do a good job hurts, expecially when all of the issues that I listed above are well documented on the net and I failed to do the detailed research before hand.

Rather than trying to modify the Bradley to try to get it to work I decided to buy a Weber Smokey Mountain. While WSM is lacking the electronics it is wonderful to use. It maintins the heat like an oven, I actually cannot believe how fast it heats up and how long it will maintain a constant tempeture without any adjustment. There is lots of support for the WSM on the internet and I really do not see it being any harder to use. Personally, I also like the idea of cooking with charcoal, it just adds to the mistique of smoking food and impresses the neighbors.

This product in my mind is just a gimmick which produces an unsatisfactory product. Please, do yourselves a favour and read the Bradley sites on the net and you will see all of the issue I mention above are documented and the modifications people are doing to deal with heat and tempeture issues. Knowledge is power.

Want Bradley Digital 6-Rack Smoker Discount?

I have owned a Bradley Digital 4 rack smoker for 7 years, I have been very pleased with it. In the past I used it very infrequently until I discovered the Bradley forums, then after reading peoples experiences I increased my knowledge and branched out into the smoking world, I just recently experienced a small grease fire in my smoker which pretty much burned it up, I am replacing it with a 6 rack digital. After reading the negative reviews for this product I had to give my two cents. Yes the factory temp sensor is inadequate, but any fault with this smoker can be overcome. First you can add a small fan kit which will circulate the air inside, you can also add an additional heat element which will greatly inprove the cooking times. If you are a serious smoker you will see the need for a PID which will control the temps far better and is highly accurate. Yes you will spend some extra money but the end result is far worth it. My best advice is to do some research before you purchase one of these smokers, you may decide that this one is not for you, if you get one you will not be disappointed once you realize what its potential is. Also visit the the Bradley smoker forums, any possible question you may have about this smoker has already been asked by someone else and has been answered.

Smart Bbq Remote Grill Temp Meter

Smart Bbq Remote Grill Temp MeterThis tenperature monitor is great, it gives me the freedom to take care of other dishes so I dont have to watch whats cooking. Lets me know when my meat is ready to come off the grill cooked to perfection.....

Works well only problem I bought several I figured I could use it on different types of meat at the same time but they all transmit on same frequency so that didn't work out too well. I guess all of the remote temp meters work the same so I just use the remote on meats that cook fastest and wired on longer cooking meats. Still I don't have to stand by BBQ till it's almos time to remove meats.

Replacement Probe for Grill Alert

Replacement Probe for Grill AlertBefore giving up on your wireless thermometer, try replacing the probe! I'm on my third probe now, which is frustrating, but these things are only $15 bucks. A new 'Grill Alert' is $70! Each probe that I've had seems to last a few years before I start getting screwy readings. When I replace the probe, the unit works fine again. I think the probes are only rated to 400 degrees, so that's definitely the weak link in this otherwise excellent system. Now I'm ordering two probes, just so that I can have a spare ready to go.

The probe has a braided metal outer jacket on the cable that causes any flexing of the cable to strain the cable where it exits the probe. This condition causes failure (shorting of the sensor wires to the jacket) at that point. I have had 2 other probes with this type of cable that failed in that mode. The best type of cable is a thick silicone jacket like used on microwave temp probes.

My original probe lasted about 10 uses( stopped indicating current temperature ) . Replacement probe also failed to indicate currentt temperature . Other reviews also indicate repeated failure of the probe.

My thermometer kept losing the signal during cooking. After replacing the batteries several times, I started shopping for a new one. That's when I stumbled onto this replacement probe. It works perfectly and seems to be a little sturdier and better built than the original. The cord is a couple of inches shorter than the original which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Delivery was lightning fast. I needed this for my Thanksgiving turkey but forgot to order until the Sunday before. It was delivered on Tuesday!

I have had it 4 years. It is reliable, the range is a couple hundred feet(at least), convenient, durable, and accurate!

GrillPro 98121 Porcelain Coated Square Wok Topper

GrillPro 98121 Porcelain Coated Square Wok TopperI have used this wok style grill topper on my Weber charcoal for a couple of years. I find that the porcelain enamel to be the best for high heat, non-stick, and food safety. I have had other "non-stick" coated grill accessories they were garbage coating wore off. The enamel on GrillPro items is of high quality and with a little cooking spray, releases food easily. I prefer it over stainless. This company has flat toppers, too. I have them and use them, too.

I use the wok style mostly for grilling veggies that need a little shaking around from time to time.

I found the products at my Ace Hardware.

Before I found this product, I used to go through two of the stainless-steel Webers a year. No matter what I tried, those turned black and wouldn't clean. When they got too disgusting, I threw them away. So I tried this one. The porcelain coating makes all the difference. Food doesn't stick if you use a bit of spray oil, it cleans up in the dishwasher, it appears sturdy. The only nit to pick is that I wish the edges of the pan were rolled a bit to be less sharp. It also seems to have a larger capacity than the comparable Weber. A win.

Take notice of the word "square" in the description. I was looking for something a little bigger as I have used a 12X12 for a number of years. I looked at Product Dimensions: 2.5 x 17 x 12 inches and thought it was rectangle. It is "square" It is really 12.5 X 12.5, if you add the handle in the dimensions it is 12.5 X 14.25. If it is like my last one I got a ace 6 years ago and use about 20 times each year it will be great.

This grill top pan is great for cooking foods such as vegetables or salmon. Coat the surface with cooking spray and the food does not stick and it is easy to clean. It is a good size and should fit on even small grills.

We've tried a lot of ways to grill veggies, and this is by far the best. It sits right on the grilling rack and easily holds plenty of veggies (or whatever) of all sizes and shapes with no fear of anything falling into the fire. Washes up easily in the dishwasher.
