I will forever buy George Foreman grills I've had a few (each worn out from so much use). This is the first time I've bought this model I am frustrated with the on/off switch and the cook at high temp, then cool down for a bit, then cook at high temp again. The others may have done this, this one just has a light that tells me when it's doing it. Still love the grill. And note, if you put a piece of foil over the bottom plate, clean-up is a breeze, no matter what I cook.

Nice addition to your kitchen if you are cooking bacon, which tend to curl up. The bottom is smooth, with no places for food to catch and hide.

Cavet, the first one I had, the spring on the handle broke. (the wire spring is welded to the wire handle, it must have been overheated as the wire spring broke loose from the handle. Not incapacitating it, as the spring just rolls in you hand, but annoying.) I wrote Lodge Mfg, and they sent a replacement which has worked fine ever since. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Requires some assembly, a screwdriver and a small wrench. Easy for any handyperson to do.

I like the heft of cast iron, and the cooking results, too. I have well-seasoned skillets handed down from my grandmother. But every once in a while you come across something so darned "obvious" that you just have to smile. This is one of them. You can use it on the grill or in a skillet. Flat bacon is only one of MANY uses. The handle is also old-fashioned. It dissipates heat pretty fast, so unless you're using it in an oven or on a closed grill, I haven't found any problem.

I've used mine for years and it should last years more -paid $5. I use it for steaks, chops and burgers. Placing the weight on food for a couple of minutes presses the meat down on the grill and gives you the grill marks that add flavor and looks great when served. You should season the press before using it and this is explained in the instructions. If you don't season it properly food can stick to the press.

The tools: 1 small can of Crisco. A gauze pad to avoid greasy fingers. An oven. An infared temperature tool to keep the oven temp 'honest'...set to 350 degrees.

Place well Criscoed Lodge item in oven, bake for at least an hour, turn off oven, when object is cool enough to remove do that and reapply Crisco all over it. Back into a 350 oven. Do the same thing, again & again. Soon you will see a nice amber colored varnish all over your Lodge piece. And it will be non-stick. Coupled with a properly seasoned skillet bacon can be flipped over with tongs and not have to be pried up with a spatula. It's a little bit amazing, compared to having to chisel up pressed bacon from " non-stick "

Cut your bacon packages into thirds, and that should render the proper size for bacon strips on sandwiches...flat bacon strips, that is. This press can ' level ' four strips.

First off, let me say that I am an avid griller and smoker, so I usually have high expectations for things I buy. I usually smoke ribs, so that is the type of application my review will center around. While I haven't used it for such purposes, it does appear to be well made for roasts or BBQ Butts except for the aforementioned sticking issue.

This rack is very well made and sturdy. It says it has a non-stick coating, but you will need to treat it as if it does not. The rack heats up faster than the meat, so meat will pretty much stick to it wherever it touches unless it is treated with some oil. The first three racks of ribs I put on the rack (without treating it) got pretty well torn up trying to get them off.

When used as a rib rack, the dividers are not very tall nor do they have a lot of space between them, so if you want the best results with your ribs (especially spareribs), you will need to leave an empty slot between each rack to give the smoke a chance to surround the ribs. Also, the rack is a little small for spareribs. If you are doing spares, you may need a second rack, one for each end. It works well for baby back ribs, though, as far as size.

You may also want to slide a metal grate (such as a cooling rack) into the dividers with the spareribs to give them some more support as the ribs tend to flop over the top.

Overall a good addition to an avid griller/smoker's cooking arsenal. I recommend it to my friends that come over who want to get a smoker.

the rack is very sturdy and versatile. Be sure to spray with oil before using or food will stick and is difficult to remove.

Even though this rack arrived with a broken weld on one of the dividing joints, it still worked fine and was easy to clean. It needs to be pointed out that you wouldn't want to fill all the slots with ribs in a 22.5" weber because some of the ribs would be directly over the coals. I could do 4 racks of baby backs and that is more than enough for 99.9% of my needs. I haven't tried the roasting side yet, but I'm sure it is also easy to clean. Had it not been for the bad weld, this would have received a 5 star rating.

Product update 9/24/2012. After about 5 or 6 uses at least half of the welds broke rendering it useless. If the welds were good the 5 star rating would still apply, but I'm going to have NOT Recommend this product due to the shoddy workmanship.

This sturdy grill/oven rack will hold 3 racks of baby back or spare ribs if you cut them in half. The height of the arches supports the ribs well and are wide enough to handle beef ribs as well as pork. What's scary about this BBQ brush is; when cleaning your grill the metal bristle come off. If your not careful it can get in your food and in you digestive track causing all kinds of problems.

G5 Next Grilleration - Red

I bought this from an on-line/tv retailer when it was offered as a special value. I paid about $100 for it at the time and did not do any comparison shopping because the seller offered a liberal 'no ask' return policy which had been extended for Xmas returns.

I had a specific reason for ordering this item. I wanted a multi purpose grill/griddle/waffle iron that would eliminate the need for separate appliances since I currently have too many appliances stashed all over the kitchen.

After reading the instruction book very carefully, I was good to go. This makes excellent steaks, chops, and burgers. I've used it to make grilled cheese sandwiches, grill vegetables, make mini pizzas on the griddle top as well as quesadillas, potato pancakes, crepes, bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles on the waffle iron component, and pretty much anything else someone might normally make. The results have been good to great based on the suggested cooking times.

I have encountered no problems with this unit.

I've owned a couple of other Foreman grills in the lower price ranges and liked them but wasn't as enthused because the units weren't submersible. In this case, cleaning is easy because the multiple plates provided with this unit snap out easily and can go right to the dishwasher. A simple soap and water clean-up is all the exterior of the unit requires.

If you follow the instructions that come with the unit you will probably have good results. I would suggest that you shop around for a better price as these appliances can vary a lot in price between sellers.

During our move a year ago we gave up many (most) of our small electric appliances. I purchased this so that I could replace many of them it turns out it is all I need.

I have made waffles on several occasions. They always turn out perfectly, even better than my old waffle maker.

The grill itself has held everything from hamburgers to steaks, and my husband has been pleased with those results.

It acts as a small oven, baking small portions, and it also works nicely as a portable griddle. I have also used it for Paninis. It is the most versatile item I have owned, and I highly recommend the fact that it packs a lot of functions in a very small space.

I have added the George Foreman Omelet Plates for the G5 George Foreman Grill and now use it for pocket sandwiches and omelets. This little plate can make three small pie crusts or even turnovers!

Since I have an electric stove, it takes no longer to warm up than the burner on my stove, and is much more convenient than heating my entire oven for small items.

Were it really shines is that it has a super cookbook on how to use all of these plates, and it is easy to use the time and temperature to adapt the recipes to your own favorites.

Man Law Grill Surface Thermometer

this sucker is tough. I took it to over 650 degree in my green egg and it took the heat like a man. The glass got smokey but it cleaned up with a little soap and water. This gauge is the real deal!

After 3 bbq's smoke got into it the glass became cloudy and unreadable, unfortunately there is no way to remove the glass to clean the reverse side. Maybe ok for oven use however not for a smokey bbq.

I bought this product so that I can have a non stick surface to barbecue my vegetables and not have them directly on the grill. The picture looked great and I thought a nice tray like this would allow the veggies, to cook thoroughly and evenly. Unfortunately all the veggies stuck to the surface, even though I put a slight coating of oil on the surface of the Grill. Had I just sprayed my regular grill grid with pam, I would have gotten better results. I don't know what advantage this product provides over regular grilling.

I have a Baby Q grill and all other veggie baskets are too big. This one is perfect and works great.

My husband wanted a way to hook all his grilling "stuff" onto his grill while we have a Char-Broil grill, we bought these only because they seemed sturdy. The definitely did the job they hold even his heavier tools without any movement (something cheaper hooks just cannot do). He's loving them!

More than pleased with these magnets. Charbroil doesn't really provide a great place to hang your barbecue tools. These magnets really work. In fact once you apply them you have to make an effort to remove them. Great product.

I purchased these for my Char-Broil Bistro Patio Grill. I put them on my grill and hung the tools. They worked great...until I turned the grill on! The heat from the grill melted the glue that holds the magnet onto the hook. I am very disappointed since these are ruined shortly after I put them on the grill. They should not be advertised for use on the grill, if they can't withstand the heat.

As long as you have a metal surface that isn't going to get hot to stick these to, they'd be great. Unfortunately, the grill I have (the Char-Broil Patio Caddy) doesn't have any part like that -if you stick these to the body of the grill anywhere, they melt and fall off.

I tried using it on the control panel, and it kind of works, but the angle isn't great and the tongs tend to pull the hook off pretty easily.

KitchenAid Architect Series II : KHHC2090SSS 2.0 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwav

We bought this oven in December 2009 and have used it for about a year.

Pros:

+ It is visually appealing and dresses up any kitchen

+ The internal lighting is very good and the over the range lighting is excellent

+ The exhaust fan rivals a jet engine -in both airflow and noise. It will move some serious air, but when it's on high normal conversation in the vicinity of the oven is difficult. Lower speeds are much better, venting well at a reasonable sound level. I have it mounted above a gas oven/range, so in the summer it easily vents the excess heat outside on the lowest fan setting

+ It is the most powerful microwave I have ever owned. This thing cooks quickly

+ It is also versatile. We bought it because of the convection capabilities, assuming it would dissipate less heat into the kitchen in the summer. That's not quite true (see cons, below), but we still like it for baking smaller items

+ It's HUGE. I haven't tried it but I could probably roast a leg of bison in the darned thing. It'll accommodate some really large dishes

Cons:

Reliability. We had one failure which required three service calls. Though the initial failure was Kitchen Aid's fault, the multiple service calls were their warranty provider's fault

Heat. When using the convection function, the oven directs excess heat via a fan through a vent in the top of the oven -right into your kitchen. I would have thought that the logical place to vent this heat would be through the external vent, but it does not. This produces a GREAT DEAL of heat. Dandy in the winter but insane in the summer. And because the heat shoots from the top of the oven it can't be captured. Thus we find it is far more economical to use the big oven in the summer, because the heat from it can be directed outside via the vent in the microwave. I consider this a nasty design flaw

Broiling/grilling. A nice feature but I've found it's just as quick and easy (and more tasty) to throw something on the grill as to get out the browning pan, the extended rack, etc., then have to clean everything. I occasionally use this feature (when snow's covering the grill) but not much

Neutral:

* The meal reheat feature takes longer than my old microwave, but that's because it is more intelligent. This microwave produces an evenly-heated meal whereas my old one produced a meal that was hot around the edges and cold in the center. It varies the power and timing to accomplish this, but unless you understand what it's doing you can easily grow impatient.

* My old microwaves (GEs, mostly) had shortcut buttons that allowed you to quickly zap something for, say, five minutes by just pressing the "5" button. One button, five minutes. I didn't realize how often I used those shortcuts. I miss 'em.

All in all we're pleased with it. I would probably buy it again, although my expectations would be tempered a bit.

I had a maytag over the range microwave that died after 4 years. I replaced it with the stainless steel kithenaid convection over the range microwave and I am definitely pleased. After reading review after review of other brands I decided to go with this model and I am glad I did. This microwave offers everything and then some. I probably won't use half of the features on here, but in the event I need them I have them! The convection is amazing, it literally cuts my cook time in half with out overcooking my food. Kitchenaid is reputable for producing quality products and I already own thier restaurant quality mixer. This microwave is highly recommended and the price I paid for it on Amazon blew the competitor's prices out of the water.

When cooking on the range the display goes off of the microhood, which renders it non functional. I was told by the repair company that KithenAid sends out that since it will work when not cooking on the range top it is fully fuctioning. However if I want to use my range then the Microwave will not work. KitchenAid has terrible customer service. The warranty clearly states the Solid State touch control system parts are covered 2nd through 5th year. I would not recommend this to anyone!

We purchased the microwave directly from kitchenaid. The microwave worked a total of 5 minutes. Kitchenaid sent a subcontractor technician that said he can't look at the microwave because it is a built in and it requires two technicians to take it out. Now we have to wait two weeks for the two technicians (first availability) to come and look at a new product that doesn't work. Kitchenaid used to be high quality product. Unfortunately that is no longer the case.

We've purchased all Kitchen aide for new house based off of some consumer review (that I'll never use again). However, not one of our KA purchases microwave, the range, dishwasher or fridge lasted before there was an issue. Most of the cases, the problem was electrical. For example, we try to turn on the stove top burner on our range and we have to keep pushing in the knobs until one turns on. Our over the range microwave, ya it looks good but, it shorts out every time we boil any water under it. WILL NEVER BY KITCHEN AIDE AGAIN!!!!
