Chefmate 2 Slice Sandwich Maker Grill Nonstick Plates Upright Storage

Chefmate 2 Slice Sandwich Maker Grill Nonstick Plates Upright StorageIn fact, I got it for $7.00 at Target. For that price it is extremely worth it.

Sure it is small and cannot accept very large or very thick bread but that's fine for me.

Sure it can be awkward to clean if there's a cheese spill but it is not really that hard (I just mop the cheese up when wet with a paper towel).

If all you want to do is make toasted sandwiches on "normal" sized bread then this is perfect and it seems to be sold very cheap at least at Target but not so cheap on Amazon.com.

I bought this item as a door buster on Black Friday for less than the above reviewers therefore I wasn't expecting much, but it works and we're happy.

It will handle any kind of bread as long as you don't mind squished bread, which we don't. For standard sized bread, we cut the bread into quarters, first down the middle and then diagonal on each half. The cheese does leak out this way, so the idea of sticking the bread in the middle may be best. As one reviewer states, you can always purchase the right size bread too.

We have a round sandwich maker too and the black teflon surface quickly peeled off. This seems to have a stronger surface.

The cheese does get into those little grooves. I think we're going to leave it there and just wipe out the part where the sandwich sits. It doesn't seem difficult to wipe out. I'd use an old toothbrush on those grooves.

It looks like all of the white sandwich makers are made by the same company and just relabeled with a name brand. These sandwich makers seem a bit shallow, but that's probably necessary for toasting.

Another benefit is that it saves on on butter. When I try grilling on the stove top, I load the pan with butter to prevent sticking. That's unnecessary with this product.

Buy Chefmate 2 Slice Sandwich Maker Grill Nonstick Plates Upright Storage Now

I also bought this cheap at Target, and it is probably one of the most useful and most used kitchen appliances I own. Nothing takes any longer than five minutes to grill in it, and in most cases that's even too long. The other reviewers say it won't handle large bread slices, but that's not true. I don't know if it's deliberate design or happy convenience, but just place sandwiches made with wide bread slices in the middle instead of loading up two puny sandwiches, and grill as normal. It even comes out with a perforation down the middle to make it easier to cut in half.

Someone else mentioned a giant cheese mess, which did happen to me once, but that was because I was using processed cheese which is basically oil, so it runs like water at those temperatures. The few times I had a little bit of real cheese sticking out the sides, it stayed in a clump that slid right off the grill with the sandwich when removed leaving no mess behind. So just use real cheese, which is better anyway.

It also handles stacked sandwiches pretty well too. I made some really stuffed tuna melts with it, we're taking about half a can (before mayo and fixins) on each sandwich, and they came out clean without leaking or dripping cheese. The bread seemed to grill up a little better too.

So yeah, for my less than ten bucks this definitely rates five stars easy.

I bought this sandwich maker as a little piece of nostalgiain renemberance of my time abroad in college. We had one of these sandwich makers and practically lived off of ketchup and cheese sandwiches. Sounds odd I know, but when made in one of these sandwich presses they're actually kinda tasty. Anyhow I've been nothing but pleased with this little gadget. It's nothing fancy, but I'll be darned if it doesn't make the tastiest grilled cheese everand without any butter or oil to boot!

I got this for those days when the sandstorms are unbearable and I don't feel like walking to the chow hall for the same thing I ate yesterday..It came quick, but the only problem is that it came with a broken handle and pieces just keep breaking off, but I dont wanna go through the hassle of sending it back so I think I can work around that issue. It just kinda sucks that it cost 30 bucks for this on amazon (after shipping) to come with a broken handle, when all the other reviewers spent 7 at target! O well, is what it is!

BergHOFF 10" Scala Grill Pan

BergHOFF 10' Scala Grill PanSo the lolagirl reviewer complains about having to clean these first (don't we normally clean even new cookware before using it)?

Anyway, I have a whole set of BergHOFF scala cookware, owned for 2 years now, and they are excellent. Heat very well, interchangeable handles, oven friendly, and of course healthy ceramic NON-STICK. They work very well, it's a more durable glass enamel coating over metal (vs. unhealthy fluoro-plastic Teflon that EPA tells manufacturers to stop making) and it's non stick properties are excellent long-term. I need to use only small amounts of oil if any and it's cooking a breeze.

While one could potentially use metal utensils, cause it's a harder substance than plastic Teflon, i'd still suggest using bamboo spatulas or turners to preserve your good cookware long-term.

Anyway, BergHOFF scala series is the best long-term ceramic non-stock solution I've found yet. Most other pans are too light or I don't trust the ceramic mix of non-stick these other guys make. Notice the black-white speckles, reminds me of a high tech (non-stick) version of my Grandma's old glass-enamel over steel cookware.

Intelligent cook reviewers here only please (lola I'm looking at you).

Although these pans look good when they come out of the box, the first time I cooked chicken on them they needed to be scrubbed (not with a scouring pad because it would scratch) but with a non-stick sponge. I had to soak them in soapy water overnight and still had to scrub them over and over again to the the food off. These are the WORSE PANS EVER! I purchased a ceramic pan at Ross' for $12.00 it still works like a charm!

George Foreman GRP106BPP 360 Electric Nonstick Grill with 3 Interchangeable Grill Plates, Platinum

George Foreman GRP106BPP 360 Electric Nonstick Grill with 3 Interchangeable Grill Plates, PlatinumI bought this grill and used it all the time until my fiance put the plates back onto it wet and turned it on, shorting it out. It has a large cooking surface and the fact that it can make quesadillas and pizzas unlike the other models is a huge bonus. Removable plates are awesome. I have never had an issue with them falling off, I've never been burnt by it, and though it may take up a lot of space (I don't think it takes up all that much) what do you expect with a large cooking surface? We've looked at all the other grills available to us and didn't want any of them. We wanted this one again and I can't wait to get it :)

I cannot believe what I just read in previous review. Burn your hand? Technically you can burn or cut yourself doing just about anything on the kitchen.

This grill is doing an amazing job every single day. It's the second foreman grill I've owned and the only reason I'm no longer using my older one is because I had been using dishwashing soap to clean it and eventually it ruins non-stick surface. I didn't know this. I make pizza on my new grill every weekend, just buy some whole wheat crust, throw some veggies and chicken breast and grill. I haven't ordered pizza ever since I got the grill last year. If you're fitness competitor, bodybuilder or just health conscious person, you will be able to make your meals "fun" and never even crave any of that papa johns junk. I've made quesadillas on my grill, too, just to try.

Best part about this model is being able to remove the plates, thoroughly wash them in a sink and put back on and make sure they are hooked up PROPERLY. This is really not hard at all, unless you're mentally challenged...

Clearly, I am huge fan of the product.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)The [[ASIN: B002VHEMJA George Foreman 360 Grill]] is a disappointment. The product has some great features, such as a large cooking surface and interchangeable plates. But more affordable Foreman models are equally as good for grilling. And the griddle pan doesn't perform well enough to make this unit reliable for baking or cooking with it.

PROS:

++ Good for grilling beef or chicken

++ Interchangeable plates add versatility, allowing you to also bake, sauté & toast

++ Large cooking surface allows you to prepare meals for more people at once

++ Oversized drip tray to catch the run-off of fat & juices (must incline the unit in grilling mode)

++ Design allows for add-on plates, like the George Foreman Heart-Shaped Waffle Plates

CONS:

-Alternatives also grill well and are more affordable

-The unit requires a lengthy clean-up and setup process, both initially and after each use

-On high heat, the hinge can expand & tighten, making it hard to open

-The baking plate doesn't marry with the top plate or get hot enough to cook well

-The plate mounts allow too much play, creating a risk plates can detach

-Plates are not marked to ensure you install them the correct way

-Non-stick surface shows wear quickly & likely won't last long

-Cleanup is a challenge; food tends to stick to the grooves

-Large footprint; you have to use it sideways on most counters to fully open it

-The hinge doesn't rotate enough to float for thicker items like it's supposed to

-Heating up takes a while, especially for grilling which requires the highest heat

-Quesadilla plates aren't included with this version (though it's a small loss)

-Large items like pizzas take too long to cook

-The manual says the plug should be grounded, but it's not

-No included storage to protect the unused plates

-Oversized handle is clumsy

-Cord is extremely short

THE ALTERNATIVES

Even though it's a good grill and sandwich press, I think the appearance and performance of the Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler is better for that purpose. And if you want a Foreman grill and want to save a little, there are tons of more affordable options like the George Foreman GR20B Family-Size Nonstick Grill or the George Foreman 3-in-1 Panini Press, Grill and Griddle.

CONCLUSION

This grill might work for you if you primarily need a large cooking surface. But it has too many serious flaws to recommend it. Look into one of the alternatives instead and avoid this model.

Happy shopping.

This is a really good grill a time saver and makes great food. But I am really cautious when using it. The plates are removable but does not secure properly. Even if you secure it properly the top plate might fall and burn you when you open the grill. I've burnt my hand real bad once. And today this thing almost burnt me again, the top plate became loose again.

Just becareful. It might work in the beginning. But trust me. It will burn you one day real bad, the top plate will fall on your hands when you least suspect it. It might be better to get the one with the non removable plate.

GEORGE FOREMAN Jumbo-size Grill

GEORGE FOREMAN Jumbo-size GrillI just bought this grill at Walmarts for $20.00

I tried it and really liked it. If it had temperature control

it would have been a 5 star.

PROS:

It is a large version of GF's grills which is what I wanted

I cooked 4 chicken breasts and threw on top some fresh mixed veggies.

When closing it though I had to take some veggies out.

Cooked the chicken beautifully in 9 minutes.

Veggies were still a bit crispy still so I cooked them about 5 minutes longer.

(peppers, onions, mushrooms, beans) While cooking veggies & chicken I used my water

bottle sprayer and sprayed the meal to create some juices and keep the meal from

becoming dry.

Easy clean-up and catches grease just fine with grease pan included.

I brought it to my countertop, placed it overhanging onto the sink and used

the sprayer to rinse off the stuck on chicken.

CONS:

No temperature control dials on it at all.

So you need to go by the timing included in the recipe book

or if you do your own recipe you should stay there for safety reasons.

Otherwise no other complaints.

I bought this grill for Christmas a year ago. I use it often, but only for certain foods. Using my IR thermometer I discovered the cooking temp of the top grill plate was 440 degrees and on the bottom the temp was 410 degrees. The top grill has very low ridges and sounds like thin sheet metal when I thump it. The bottom grill plate is a respectable thick cast metal. This explains why my steaks would have grill marks only on the bottom and seared to a solid crust over the top. This does not pass as a grilled steak in Texas. I ruined a lot of nice thick steaks before learned to only cook hamburgers, chicken and fish....My dog learned to love burned steak. I also reduce the recommended cooking times by at least one minute from the Foreman provided chart.

The guy that designed the grease pan should be locked in a room with a dozen dirty grease pans and a roll of paper towels and not let out until he cleaned them all. He would rush to his drawing board and remove all the impossible to clean corners.

If I had spent $60.00 on this grill I would have sent it back on day two.

Brentwood 6" Non-Stick Electric Skillet Model SK-45

Brentwood 6' Non-Stick Electric Skillet Model SK-45I am on oxygen and can't use gas products. I purchased this skillet n use it everyday, it's wonderful. I add water to the pan n cook my hot dogs also. Easy clean up.

The temp control never raised the temperature high enough for frying. I could have returned it but it was too big a hassle but I did write the company to let them know. I did not have high expectations at the outset and should have known that the price was too low for the quality I expected. Problem is that few people carry items designed for small households and shopping on the internet is a crap shoot.

The electric cord gets in the way. It's clumsy. This 6" Non-Stick skillet (with glass cover) would be ideal if made for stove top use.

I have an 8" inch glass cover skillet which serves me better than the 6" electric cord skillet. However, being 95 and still doing my cooking, a 6" non-electric glass cover skillet would be easier for me to handle.

Have prepared for long-term use many types of non-stick products. Don't remember any giving up so soon. Used this little, otherwise practical, handy and pleasant pan for frying a cutup slice of spam and then adding eggs ovaeasy mix. The third morning, the egg began sticking to the pan, and it takes awhile for my nylon spatula to gently scrape of the baked-on residue. Not at all what one would expect, but still in use.

Tramontina Set of 3 Saute Pans

Tramontina Set of 3 Saute PansI got this 3 piece set for 20 bucks from a local store. It is the right kind of heavy in my opinion. The Cook's Illustrated highly recommends the 12 inch skillet. And I can see why. They cook evenly and are super easy to clean. I never wash them in the dishwasher though, so my skillets have very few scratches despite heavy use for past 6 months. Sometimes I get scorch stains on the bottom of the pan but they always come off with a little elbow grease. These are the best non stick skillets that I have ever owned.

These pans have heavy duty riveted handles, cook well, ez to clean. They are Made in the USA by your neighbors!

My wife likes having three sizes.

Buy Tramontina Set of 3 Saute Pans Now

I've been buying non-stick cookware since it first came out. I will say that I always use a tiny bit of oil in the pan, because food cooked without oil is not very tasty to me. MANY of the Teflon pans I bought years ago lasted less than a year before they began to discolor and get scratches in them. Even the high-dollar Calphalon pan began to stick and get a rough surface after about 2 months. The Emeril steel pans did not perform as promised and were like all others, requiring overnight soaking with baking soda to loosen the stuck food, followed by a rubbing with Barkeeper's Friend, to make it shine. I finally accepted the fact that non-stick cookware is like a cardboard box -it won't last forever, so don't think of it as the last pan you'll ever buy; it will have to be replaced frequently. My main objective became finding a non-stick pan that will last longer than a few weeks before it starts clinging to food. I bought my first Tramontina pan a couple of years ago, and it remained smooth and functional for over two years, and I used it daily. The exterior of the pan, coated with something amazing, also remained clean over that time. It finally got one tiny scratch in it, which didn't affect the efficiency of it, but I decided it was getting old, and who knows what happens over time to the chemical structure of the surface itself? So I bought this set of three a few months ago, and they still look like they just came out of the packaging. They do a wonderful job on everything I cook in them (and I DO use HIGH heat, even though instructions warn against it). They do not discolor over at least two years. The surface does not begin to get a sandpaper texture to it, like the Teflon pans always did. And the first one I had was still stick-free after two years. If you want a pan that you can hand down to your grandchildren, buy cast iron or stainless steel, but you will need to buy plenty of steel wool (for the iron) and a case of Barkeeper's Friend (for the steel). This is the best non-stick I have found. It cooks evenly, cleans easily, and outlasts any others I've tried.

I bought these from a local store about a year ago...they are fantastic!!! I use the small one the most for breakfast everyday and it still looks like new. I even turned around and bought a set for a gift for my brother and sister-n-law. Best skillets I have ever owned!!

I bought this set at Costco (Sorry, Amazon, but they had it cheaper) after reading reviews of the product. So far I have been very, very happy with the purchase. The pans are a nice size assortment and have a good feel to them; I also like the rubber handles. Granted the pans don't have lids, but you can purchase an all-sizes lid on Amazon or any kitchen-ey type place. Sure, I don't know how long they will last, but in their price range they seem to be of above-average quality. I'm more than content with them. Be sure to season the pans, as the manufacturer recommends, which takes less than five minutes.

CucinaPro 1443 Flatbread and Tortilla Maker

CucinaPro 1443 Flatbread and Tortilla MakerI have never made tortillas before so this is all new to me. I bought one and read the instructions on how to make them. Armed with this info and the other review which suggests cooking them separately, and having seen how Cafe Rio does theirs, I set off on the first batch. The first batch had mixed results, but not bad for first time. The main problem I had was pressing too long and too hard, making it thin and stiff (hard to roll a burrito with a hard shell). This time I did the wheat tortillas (recipe included with the owner's manual) and all of them turned out. The actual press time was less than 10 seconds and included flipping it.

I am really impressed with the non-stick coating. It really does not need any coating on it (even though the manufacturer recommends it) because the tortillas simply will not stick. I center them (after the first press the ball dough will sometimes slide a little because of the slick surface), flip them, and take them out all without a spatula.

Perhaps one thing I do which also helps is that I start the dough off in a bread maker and let it do the kneading for about 10 minutes then form into balls and let them rest for 30 minutes. But as far as being a difficult machine to use I have not found this to be the case just follow the instructions.

I noticed that several reviews indicated that users were using this machine to both press and cook their tortillas. This machine works in the same way as the 3000 dollar tortilla press except no automatic operation, that said a tortilla press needs to be hot to keep the tortilla from shrinking, however the tortilla needs to be finished cooking on a griddle for best results.

Buy CucinaPro 1443 Flatbread and Tortilla Maker Now

This is better than any other tortilla or roti maker I have tried. Its bigger and also heavier which reduces the amount of pressure one needs to apply to make flat thin perfect leveled round rotis. I primarily got it to make Rotis. 1 drawback that i did notice is that it does not heat up a lot which ends up taking longer to make the rotis which means slightly drier rotis. So I might try something which can heat up more which I will do rather reluctantly because this is the sturdiest roti maker I have ever come across. Rotis are different as after pressing them down to shape we really should cook on these electric roti makers just like a Tawa or Pan . Pressing them again and again will only make them harder and rubbery. I suggest for 1st timers to search youtube for videos. They are full of them. Thats how I got it right. That said, I dont think the tortilla makers roti can ever compare to the conventional method. If you rate the conventional rotis as a 9 or 10 /10. I would give this a 6/10. But for the sheer convenience of sitting on a chair watching T.V making these rotis in an air conditioned room without sweating it out in the heat of the flame I would give it a 9 / 10.

My wife and I are trying to get away from wheat (after buying "wheat belly" from Amazon) and had a hard time finding corn based flatbreads where we shop.

So we bought the Cucina pro piece. We had a little trouble at first but learned to press slowly on the unformed breads until they are flat. AND we learned to let the dough get to room temp at least before cooking. A hot cooking surface and a cold dough makes a real mess.

After trying home-made tortillas by rolling them out by hand, we loved the taste, but I couldn't spend another hour of rolling for 12 tortillas. So, hubby found this great product. I started it today and after a few failures from pressing too hard and long, I made 36 in about 20 minutes! I made whole wheat ones and they turned out great. I cut the tortillas into triangles and baked on low heat to make tortillas chips. They kids loved them, also! A high recommendation on this!

10 Pack - Diamond Strike on Box 32 Count MatchesThe only reason I'm writing this silly review is because of all the bad ones. They're matches, they work, that's all the info you really need. Keeping a nice grill in Central Florida means either buying a new one every two years or rebuilding the one you have.

Even keeping the grill covered and under cover does not keep the internals from rusting. Grill advertisements can use terms such as porcelain coated cast iron, but cast iron will eventually rust. My grill was so bad I was afraid to cook on it but it is a nice large grill and the body is in great shape. I ordered these cooking grids and they are exactly as the originals on my Grill Master. The Amazon price was the best I could find. I also replaced the cross over bars and burner covers. My grill looks great and I did it for less that $100.

CucinaPro 220-03 Piccolo Pizzelle Baker

CucinaPro 220-03 Piccolo Pizzelle Baker(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)This past holiday season, I searched everywhere for a pizzelle maker that made smaller pizzelles, and I finally found this one -exactly what I wanted. It makes four 3" cookies per batch rather than the one or two larger 5" pizzelles made by the most common makers. Despite this, the dimensions are still small enough (the iron is 6" deep x10" wide, with an additional 4 inches or so for the handle) to store easily when not in use. The nonstick surface needs to be sprayed or brushed with high temperature oil once per session, and the pizzelles never stick.

Operation is simple: you place one-inch balls or a couple of teaspoons of dough, depending on the recipe, in the center of each mold, then close the lid, locking it in place with the metal clip attached to the top handle. Although the instructions estimate approximately 40-50 seconds of cooking per batch, I found that it took a couple of minutes to get mine to the right doneness, but, of course, that may be recipe specific. It does take some experimentation to get the dough placed just right to get centered pizzelles, something that I never found a problem with a bigger pizzelle maker that I used years ago. Even off-center pizzelles cook perfectly -they just don't look as nice. It took me an entire batch to get comfortable, so, if you're planning to make these for an occasion, make sure you allow yourself enough time to practice. The instructions recommend placing the dough just behind the center, but I found that to be horrible advice. Put the balls in the center of each impression, and adjust from there. I had no problem with unevenly cooked or burned cookies, nor did I find that I had to work exceptionally fast.

The pizzelle maker comes with a small, wooden cone shaper. The size of both the cone and the pizzelles makes for tiny waffle cones, something that would be cute as toppers for a bowl of ice cream or for sampling a few flavors, but not very practical for most people. For real waffle cones, I use my machine specifically for that purpose.

This maker makes wonderful pizzelles and stroopwafels in a manageable size. I highly recommend it!

-Debbie Lee Wesselmann

I am so glad I ordered this pizzelle maker. I love the petite size of each waffle and that it makes FOUR at a time. My parents and grandparents all made pizzelles and had a variety of irons, but this one is the best. The prompt shipping is also a big plus!

Buy CucinaPro 220-03 Piccolo Pizzelle Baker Now

I began making pizzelles over forty years ago, using the old-fashioned, long-armed pizzelle iron that you put on a stove burner, that was given to me by the grandmother of a friend. When I found my old first electric pizzelle maker I was thrilled at how much easier it was to use. When it bit the dust after over ten years of use, and since my family loves pizzelles, I had to find a new one fast! This isn't just a Christmas cookie in my family! I came across this mini (piccolo) pizzelle baker on Amazon and decided to give it a try. What a find! It heats up quickly, stays hot batch after batch, bakes the cookies fast and cleans up very nicely. I also love the smaller cookies and so do the rest of my gang. They're easier to make and easier to eat. I didn't use the recipe that was included because I didn't want the added fat and calories from butter, instead I relied on my own recipe from my Nana and they worked perfectly. I did use Pam between batches to prevent sticking, just like with my old machine. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a great pizzelle baker. Even a novice baker can make these interesting, delicious cookies with this pizzelle baker.

Read Best Reviews of CucinaPro 220-03 Piccolo Pizzelle Baker Here

I first bought the Quisinart that makes 2, 4" cookies. I wanted something that made more at one time so I purchased this one. This one makes 4, 3" cookies at a time. Heres the difference: The cuisinart makes thinner cookies. The CucinaPro makes thicker ones that actually taste better.

I can see why some folks complain about the uneveness of cooking but, if you go by the steam that comes out of the machine and open it when the steam stops, the cookies are fine. The color may be a little uneven but it doesn't effect the way the cookie comes out.

I have discoved oils that I use that I like much better than the pure extracts. I believe the company name is LorAnn that is offered on Amazon. Let your imagination run wild. I've made chocolate-peppermint, cinnamon spice, lemon, butter-rum....the list goes on. You can make everything with one machine and not have to turn your oven on!

All-in-all, I think this is a good buy and love it!

George Foreman GR0059P 120 Square Inch Healthy Cook Variable Temperature GrillI got this grill for Christmas, and as of today, it has already been used 3 times. Before, they didn't have variable temp controls, and that limited them a bit one what and how you could cook with them. No longer, and it works awesome.

It has even heating, a HUGE surface to cook on, and a very large drain to put in front. I don't know the specific temps it uses for L-M-H, but it works great on low for mushrooms and other things like that, medium for chops to get them just right and fully cooked, and high makes a perfect m/r steak or burger.

Looking forward to a lot of use with this thing, makes dinnertime easier, and warms the house less than the stove/oven, much like my crockpots!

I have been in need of a new George Foreman Grill for a long, long time... my 1st generation grill stopped working months ago, and I have been putting off getting a new one because I wasn't sure that I wanted to shell out the money for the top of the line model. I knew I wanted a variable temp model, and chose this one because of the price point and the temp control. I use my grill mainly for making panini sandwiches and, unfortunately, this grill does not get hot enough to sear, and the top lid and plate are not as heavy as the they are on the older model. It took 15 minutes to grill one panini, when my old model got the job done in five, with a perfect sear on the bread and enough weight from the lid to press the sandwich. I will be returning this model in favor of a different one... hopefully, one that works properly.

Wow---I don't know why I waited this long to jump on the George bandwagon, but I'm sorry I did. I realize that an outdoor grill makes almost all the difference in grilled foods, but who has the time during the week to wait for coals to heat up? And why would I want to stand outside with the humidity and mosquitoes biting to grill foods on a gas grill that will take twice as long to cook my food?

For entire meals (meat and vegetables)this is a perfect product for a two person family, for just meat or sandwiches this will really be great for a four person family. I've tried this with all sorts of goods now and I haven't found one that didn't cook to perfection.

I have two complaints and one is that although it is easy to clean, it is a bit awkward to clean the top grill plate. The other is that it did not come with a more detailed instruction/usage manual, but then most of the instructions and recipes can be found easily on line.

I use this product on top of my stove so I can use the fan to take away some of the smoke. Mind you there is NOT a lot of smoke, actually no more than pan frying your foods, but with a glass topped stove it is so much easier this way.

The cord is nice and long and the size of the product itself makes storage in a cabinet or pantry fairly easy. The drip tray allows your foods to not cook in excess fat (just like an outdoor gas grill) The temperature controls allows you to cook things to just the way you want them.

My one regret is that it did not come with a more detailed instruction manual, but then most of the instructions and recipes can be found easily on line.

We bought this GF grill for our family with hopes of saving time and keeping the kitchen cool and it did but a a price.

While it can cook a large steak, 4 burgers, or 6 chicken breasts in under 10 minutes, everything that comes out of it is dry dry dry. It might give some "grill marks", but you might as well paint them on cause there's no grilled flavor at all. We haven't enjoyed eating anything coming off this grill. Our wonderful no-stick heavy fry pan does a MUCH better job.

Then there is the MESS.

The thin, shallow, and completely unsecured plastic "grease tray" has to be perfectly positioned to catch all the drippings. It has no weight itself, or even rubberized feet to keep it in place and the grill itself has slippery plastic feet too. Keeping both perfectly aligned while opening and closing it to cook is like trying to stack ice cubes and this is before the counter is greasy from all the "misses". But if you do happen to catch some grease, make sure you don't have far to go with it because trying to keep a shallow foot long grease boat from spilling as you desperately attempt to dump it in the sink is a labor of pure frustration as globs of hot grease splatter onto the floor.

But after the messy cooking job, cleaning is a cinch, right? You'd think that who ever designed this monstrosity of an appliance would have some cleaning method that made sense well, you'd be wrong. Not only don't the non-stick plates come out, but the clam-shell doesn't come apart. So you have to take this greasy grimy mess and somehow finagle it in different directions to clean it out and it needs to be cleaned every time. I spent 15 minutes de-greasing the beast last night a far cry from the 45 seconds it takes to clean out my good fry pan.

I've boxed it up and will be returning it this afternoon!

This replaced my older George Foreman grill and it is wonderful. Simple and I love the ability to set the temperature. My original George Foreman grill did not have this ability. This is just the right size for a family of four.

Johnson-Rose 21-3/4 Inch X 15-13/16 Inch X 1 Inch Aluminum Sheet Pan

Johnson-Rose 21-3/4 Inch X 15-13/16 Inch X 1 Inch Aluminum Sheet PanI purchased this pan to be utilized as a "drip tray" for an older BBQ (for which I could no longer get the part). With a little tweaking, it worked out great.

I am quite happy with it. While it is not as heavy duty as my half sheet pans, I wanted a 3/4 sheet in order to bake 2 loaves of artisan bread at once. This baby is the perfect for that. It is the maximum size to fit in my oven (with an inch or 2 open on all sides for heat circulation). And it also fits in the fridge (I often shape the loaves and put them in the fridge overnight before baking the next morning -it deepens the flavor). Still fits in my skinny "tray cabinet" as well. Good value for the price.

I use this pan for proofing and baking bread. It just fits my oven, is easy to clean, and a good weight to support baked goods. I am thinking about getting a second one.

Ordered 2 of these pans and found them dented on arrival, but Amazon quickly sent replacements that arrived in good condition. They are fairly thick aluminum and seem to be built well. These baking pans are huge! I measured my oven before ordering to be sure they would fit and they have an inch or two in front and behind for air to flow around them, but nearly touch the sides. I made some peanut butter cookies the other night and was able to fit 20 cookies on one sheet (on parchment paper) and they baked up beautifully, though I did have to increase the baking time by a couple minutes from what I would use with my old nonstick cookie sheets. (I understand that is typical when using the shiny aluminum surface instead of the dark surface on the non-stick sheets.) I had some concerns about whether there was enough air space around the pans, but my test cookies all cooked up very evenly. If I find a difference in evenness after more tests, I'll be sure to update the review. I can't comment on how they clean or how baked food releases from the aluminum because I always use line with parchment paper when baking. (I find it convenient to slide a whole sheet of cookies -still on the parchment paper -onto a cooling rack when they are done baking.)

Pros:

Good quality construction.

Very large surface area.

Good solid edges add stiffness and would contain lots of liquid if using it to catch drips under a roaster or pie or whatnot.

Cons:

The edges make it more challenging to slide off a sheet of parchment paper full of baked cookies.

Since it is aluminum, baked goods take a couple minutes longer than on a darker (non-stick type) pan.

*The pan doesn't have much airspace around it, which MAY prove to be an issue in certain applications such as baking multiple sheets at once, but I have not yet had opportunity to test it yet, so this is only an assumption.

I would recommend this product to those who enjoy baking, but make sure to measure your oven first.

I own 5 of these now. The size is great. I use these sheet pans so often for cookies and to put mini loaf pans on when I'm baking quick bread or to simply add another layer under my cake pans so the bottom of the cake doesn't brown too quickly. I purchase parchment paper by the case so I always bake my cookies on a layer of parchment on these sheets. I don't know how the pan would perform with no parchment. I imagine your cookies would stick unless you greased the pan. I like the size because it almost fills the oven. I can get so many cookies on one sheet! I have a convection oven so I put 3 of these sheet pans in the oven at once. A whole double batch of cookies baked at one time! My husband uses these to put spare ribs one (lined with foil) , baked or roasted vegetables, pizza......you can use these for so many things. I highly recommend these.

Weber Q 100 Series Vinyl Grill Cover

Weber 6550 Vinyl Cover for Weber Baby Q, Q-100 and Q-120 GrillsHow much can you say about a vinyl cover :) It fits the Q-100 perfectly. It has pull strings on both sides to ensure a snug fit which I liked. It looks good!

For less than $9, this is a steal (if you are spending at least $25 total and get free shipping). It is definitely well made with good quality vinyl. I just received it, but you can quickly tell by the feel of the material that this thing should last. In addition, this cover is a custom fit for your portable Baby Q grill. Weber could definitely charge more for this (just look at how much they charge for those cheap tin foil drip pans). The cover ends up being only a couple bucks more than the drip pans.

The above said, I would highly recommend this cover to anyone that owns a Weber Baby Q.

I bought this as accessory to the Weber Q-100 that I ordered at the same time. I already have a Q-200 grill for home use and have a cover for it as well. Based on the quality of the Q-200 cover that I have had for some time and how well it has held up I knew the Q-100 cover would be a good buy. It definitely is a recommended accessory for the grill.

I just got the Q120 and love it, so I decided to get the cover for it. I was expecting it to be a thin, flimsy cover because of the description and the price, but was pleasantly suprised to find that wasn't the case. The cover is impressively made for the price. It is constructed from a very heavy, thick material that looks like it would last a long time even outside in the weather. It has a drawstring with locking tension slider on the front and back side. I would be very pleased, but it looks like it was designed for the Q-100 and older model Q-120 without the taller lid. On my newer model 120, it barely goes around the regulator knob, and puts tension on the electronic ignitor button if you aren't careful, makeing it come on. You can get it over everything if you are careful, but it isn't right. I will probably try a cover for the Q-200, but this one just isn't quite big enough to fit properly. I do think if you have one of the shorter lid models, you can't go wrong with it. It's made far better than the price would suggest. Four stars only because of fit issues, but five for sure if you have the regular height lid. I hope this helps.

I absolute LOVE this grill. So, I decided to spring for the proper cover for it rather than any generic grill cover. Perfect. Fits like...well...it was made to!

I own the Q-120 (the largest model THIS COVER is for). Yes, it "just fits" and you can only tighten the draw stings a little. But that's what I would expect. It's just big enough to slip on, and tightens just enough to keep it from blowing off.

Weber 4511001 Spirit E-210 Natural Gas Grill, Black

Weber 4511001 Spirit E-210 Natural Gas Grill, BlackThis grill is solid as a rock and very efficient. It fired up cleanly the first time, and it achieved a 400 degree oven heat in about 5 minutes. Beautiful, even flame. Be careful putting it together. The instructions are drawings, mostly without words, and not always as clear as they might be. But, the grill can be assembled in about an hour, even with a few retracing of steps.

The box is big and heavy but went together in about an hour. It is sturdy and solid, not like those cheaper, multi-burner models. This thing will last. Nice, even heat and can cook more than the description implys. Plus, it comes in natural gas version so no tanks to lug around.

Buy Weber 4511001 Spirit E-210 Natural Gas Grill, Black Now

I purchased this product from Amazon because finding a BBQ with gas hookup in stores is vitally impossible and necessitates a special order. Also-I wasn't sure it would fit in my two door car so it saved me the effort of borrowing a car as well at the same price including shipping as the local Home Depot.

The box is HUGE and heavy so more than likely you will need two people to move this to an area for assembly. I did not assemble this item but understood it took about 3 hours. It is on wheels so the item is very mobile. After it was put together I simply rolled it to my gas hookup, turned on the gas and followed ignition instructions. Voilà, BBQ!

As you have read, the flame burns very even no matter where the food is on the grill and the Weber heats up fast! I recently had a 15 person party and grilled burgers and chicken fast and easily to raves from my friends.

Simply putthis BBQ does exactly what you want and need with a great flame. Sounds like great longevity as well but I obviously cannot speak to that at this time.

Note: I use this almost every day even to heat leftovers because it is so easy and makes the food so much more flavorful.

Note: the ignitor is not working due to being slightly detached from the button. Not sure if this is error from assembly or slight manufacturer error so I simply light with lighter stickno biggie. I could prob Jerry rig a fix.

Item is a staple in my household!

I love it. It was actually easier to assemble than I thought it might be based on other reviews. I was plesantly surprised to find Weber had included all the tools needed to assemble it because it was not really spelled out--may have been my failure to review all notes. It works just like it is supposed to be, including the lighter--unlike other grills I have had.

Polder Original Cooking All-In-One Timer/Thermometer

Polder Original Cooking All-In-One Timer/ThermometerI've had the Polder 362-90 for about 5 years. I purchased it after seeing Alton Brown using one on the Food Channel show "Good Eats". Now, I'd be lost without it. It takes all the guesswork out of roasting chicken or turkey or a roast beef or whatever else you care to cook in your oven.

You insert the metal probe into whatever you're cooking, set the target temperature and start roasting. When your roast reaches the desired temperature, the Polder will beep to let you know. Perfectly cooked. No wiggling Mrs. Chicken's legs, no pressing on the roast, no "Gee, is it done? I'm not sure." It couldn't be easier.

It has a countdown timer (but not a clock) as well. The back of the main unit has 2 strong magnets which allow it to be attached to any metallic surface, vertical or horizontal. The LCD pivots, so no matter where you put the unit, you can tilt the LCD to make it easy to read. A slide switch on the back allows you to change between Farenheit and Centigrade.

When you wash the probe, you *must* be careful. The probe is a metal tube that contains a temperature sensor. At the point where the cable from the main unit enters this tube, it is sealed merely by crimping the tube. It isn't waterproof. So during washing, if you allow water around this area, it will find its way into the tube and kill the sensor. This is the basis, I believe, for many of the complaints regarding the probe's fragility.

I wrap my hand tightly around the top of the probe when I wash it to prevent this from happening, and I'm still using the original. I use it at least twice a month, so that means it has been used at least 100 times and washed 100 times and it works fine. As far as complaints that the sensor is inaccurate, I've got 100+ perfectly cooked chickens, turkeys and roast beefs that contradict that assertion.

If I have a complaint its that the thing has no on/off switch! Its always running and, therefore, draining the AAA battery. This is not a big deal. The first battery lasted about 3 years and the one in it now has about 2 years of use and is still going strong. When the temperature reads "LO", that is the indicator that the battery needs replacement.

The Polder 362-90 allows you to know when your roast is done instead of guessing at it. I find it essential and I recommend it. Just be careful when you wash it.

***UPDATE 6/2010: After 10+ years of faithful service, my Polder finally quit working. I immediately ordered another. The new one worked accurately twice and then began to underreport temperature by about 30 to 40 degrees F. I tried a backup probe and a new battery with the same result so it would appear to be a problem with the main unit and not the probe. I see that many of the most recent reviews for this product complain of a similar issue. I think Polder may have a manufacturing problem. I would defer purchasing this product until the reviews turn positive again.

I bought two timers, this Poulder and a 6 buck Taylor. The Taylor was for timing things that take under 10 minutes and I could set next to the outdoor BBQ. The Poulder was for more complex stuff like actually telling the temperature of the meat (or fish or whatever) when it's in the oven. It works. It works beautifully. My wife loves it.

BUT, this is our second one. The first lasted about four years before the tabs that allow it to sit upright on a countertop either wore out or broke. That meant that it couldn't be seen straight on unless you used the magnetic backing and "pasted" it on the range. I don't know if that will happen again. I don't know if it's a design flaw. It's plastic, so maybe four years is more than I should have expected. The timer still worked, and I suppose Poulder would have replaced it if I wanted to go to the trouble. Giving them the benefit of the doubt and the fact that it does work very well, 5 stars.

Buy Polder Original Cooking All-In-One Timer/Thermometer Now

I have use Polder brand products including replacement probes for years, but the latest version of probes is a complete and utter failure. The replacements and new probes on recent shipments of thermometers all have a heat-resistant plastic-like coating over the probe wire much like a heavy guage coated wire rather than the prior successful metal mesh exteriors. Those with mesh occasionally kinked if abused by the user, but they never totally failed to give a reading with such short life. The mesh ones were good for one or more seasons. I am thoroughly dissapointed with Polder's "new and improved" probes. This, of course applies to any of the Polder products shipped with the new worthless probes. Another disturbing thing is that the photos of the probes appear to be the old mesh covered good ones and nothing in product description says anything about a different probe.

I've been using this for at least 10 years and I love it. It's only on it's second set of batteries and it's used almost every day. I haven't had any of the problems with the probe that I've read about and that also gets used frequently--probably at least once a week.

I'm particularly impressed with the fact that it's been left out in the rain several times while attached to the smoker, gotten full of water and as soon as it's dried out it's been as good as new. It's hard to read when the display is full of water.....

This is a terrific value for the money. I bought a back up several years ago thinking my original one must be close to reaching the end of it's useful life, but it's still in the box.

Want Polder Original Cooking All-In-One Timer/Thermometer Discount?

I have used this thermometer for the better part of 3 years now, and I am sorry to say that I killed it this Thanksgiving. I had the probe in the turkey, and left the unit sitting on the stovetop. Problem was, all 4 burners were on and fried the internals.

Now I will buy a new one. I used it in the oven, for bbqing, timing, you name it, I got my moneys worth from this guy.

I must now go mourn.

George Foreman SK0010B SkilLite Digital Searing Skillet with Sear Setting and Grease Channel

George Foreman SK0010B SkilLite Digital Searing Skillet with Sear Setting and Grease ChannelThis skillet is large enough to accomodate the average family without any problem. We love the ability to sear the meat and then cook it more slowly to preserve the flavor. The grease channel is a suburb feature whether you want to save the grease or throw it away. The main thing is that you're not adding a lot of fat calories. This is a great skillet for any family who cooks and likes to keep their meals fat free.

Got this for my wife and she's used it almost every night for the past 2 weeks to cook everything from breakfast (eggs, bacon, hash browns) to dinner (hamburgers, chicken, potatoes, stir-fry). She's actually using it right now to cook up some chicken and veggies and it smells awesome!

I highly recommend this skillet. It's large enough for our family of 4, easy to clean, and the grease channel is a nice touch, too! Just push whatever you don't want into it. I'm writing the review, but my wife is the one raving about this skillet. Hey, if my wife is happy, then I am happy. :)

Five Big Reasons to buy this skillet: 1)Simple instructions/user friendly. 2)Has a great sear feature that goes back automatically to your chosen cooking temp. Foods brown beautifully. 3)Has a grease catcher. Just tip the skillet slightly and the grease just runs in there. 4) Skillet coating is really non stick. Just a bit of cooking spray and you're good to go! 5) Cleans easily with soap and water...no need to scrub!

Charcoal Companion Reusable Steak Button Thermometers, Set of 4

Charcoal Companion Reusable Steak Button Thermometers, Set of 4These are a nice idea but a pain to use. they smoke up right away and are hard to read to begin with without magnification.

These work well, you have to put then sideways into your steak. I would like the dial to be a bit larger, but that is my eyesight issue! One warning, do not use these in a frying pan with oil, they stopped working entirely as the oil penetrated the dial, use them on a BBQ grill only and you will be happy.
