We are the one-pot-meal enthusiastic kind of family and this pot turned to be our best friend immediately. It's actually our second one as the first pot's teflon surface started chipping quite soon. We did not use any sharp tools for stirring, however few times we used the top heat settings, what is not recommended. The rest of our T-fal pots and pans are however holding completely OK, which is maybe also a reason, why this new one arrived with obviously new surfase technology (they probably experienced some more cases with the old one...).

I am not sure if this all writing is understandable therefore the bottomline is:

This product is superb for frying, one potting, gratinating and baking and the 2nd generation teflon surface makes it much more durable than its predecessor.

We had a T-fal fry pan with the 2 short handles that we used all the time. We liked that it was easier to store than a traditional long handled pan. After it finally wore out we tried to find another without any luck. We then came across this Caldero. While its not really a fry pan, it actually has worked out better as its more versatile. We are also going to be getting the larger version as well.

I bought this product because I liked the color and also loved the glass lid. This pan works so wonderfully, it's the right size for so many dishes! I love the fact that you can see what's cooking without removing the lid and they were very smart with the design putting a hole in there to release the steam. Very clever indeed! This pan is perfect for a variety of things. I am surprised at how often I reach for it. The only negative, if you want to call it that, is that it's lighter and thinner than my other pans. Considering it's size, I really can't call it a real negative for me. Very pleased.

I've been looking for more of these BBQ Sheets everywhere and I finally found them on your site. These BBQ sheets make grilling effortless and sanitary.

We have used these a few times and they are okay. If you spray them with Pam or any other cooking spray, the spray will pretty much bake on and be almost impossible to scrub off. The grates on our grill are starting to rust a bit and these do keep the food from coming in contact with it. One good thing about them is that you can soak them in hot soapy water in your sink to clean. They can go in the dishwasher but I haven't tried that yet because they need a fair amount of scrubbing after they are used.

We really need to break down and get a new grill, but haven't yet, and we have already replaced the grates once in ours, so the burners in ours are more the problem then the grates. Being that our burners like to flare up and burn our meat. Have been using these kind of as a shield in the meantime, to protect our food from being scorched. They are very thin, but thicker and more reuseable then say aluminum foil. I haven't tried to wash them yet, but I will say, I'm going to do it outside, they aren't exactly fitable in a two sided sink *and would probably make a mess. But they are holding up fine, and so far when we have used them, even from the beginning we haven't had any problems with food sticking to them, although we have only done hamburgers and steaks, so not sure how chicken or fish would do. Picked these up locally at Target, price was about the same. Good product, would recommend to friends who are looking into getting something similar. One side is flat with holes (probably the side you would use for fish or veggies, and the other is raised with valleys, so you wwill get some grill type marks on your stakes and burgers.

I bought a new grill and felt the need to buy this for some reason. I was wrongly under the assumption that it might keep my grill a little bit cleaner. I grill every night and hate dealing with the mess. It turned out to be really flimsy. The wholes don't help at all with cleanliness and the food doesn't cook evenly when using this product. Normally I'm not one to go crazy over kitchen appliances but I am compelled to sing the praises of this little wonder. This is sad, but my wife and I eat grilled cheese sandwiches a couple of nights a week because we love them so much. It's sort of our dirty little secret. This little miracle has opened up a whole new universe of possibilities. Our old-style Salton grilled-cheese maker would invariable push the top slice of bread out from the rest of the sandwich because of the operation of the hinge, and forget about putting anything in there other than bread and a couple of slices of cheese because it couldn't handle the thickness. With the GR-1 though, you can put a Dagwood-sized sandwich (the floating hinge allows HUGE sandwiches) in and in just a few minutes, the weight of the top plate has compressed the whole thing into a critical mass of concentrated goodness. Anything I can put between two piecs of bread is becoming a panini these days. This will probably take five years off of my life because I have doubled my weekly consumption of molten cheese, but it's worth it.

After reading the reviews of similar products and this one and knowing that I'm always disappointed when I go for the cheap stuff, I bought this one. I am SO glad I did. My son has been a big fan of grilled cheese sandwiches for 5 years now and it's not slowing down. I hate getting out the frying pan (and the butter) and making them the old-fashioned way. I bought this Raclette Set without any research, after deciding i wanted to do a raclette dinner that evening, and this was the only one i could find (left over floor model from Fry's, 8th store i checked). But I'm really happy with it. It's nice that it has 8 places, (many sets only have 4) which makes it useful for larger parties. While i am careful with the teflon trays, i use the set a lot, and up to now they are fine. I found the idea of half stone/half metal grill to be interesting. I'm still not quite sure about the benefit of the stone, as all models i had used before just had metal. It's a pain to clean. And since i don't have the manual (floor model) I still don't know if it's dishwasher safe.

This is the perfect grill for that special interactive dinner, similar to fondue cooking where each person partakes in their dinner preparation. The raclette cheese melted under the broiler perfectly as the vegetables and meats cooked on the top surface. Grill Daddy Pro Exclusive New Corner Cleaner Brush

This was a gift. I was excited about it at first, but I should have known that it was a bad idea. Water doesn't spray out, it dribbles, falls onto the hot coals, and creates a back flash of ash onto the cooking grate. I also wasn't overly impressed with the so called steam cleaning, if it can even be called that. Sure dripping water on a hot surface will create steam, but not enough to clean as this claims to do. It didn't on my grill. It also is useless on corners, and it doesn't work any better than a regular old wire brush. I used it once and it has since found a home somewhere out in the garage, or it may have gotten packed in the Goodwill box. I saw a bunch of high reviews on this product so maybe mine is defective.

Used item twice and it leaks all over the place.The grill scrubber fell off and cannot be reconnected.Item is junk and is going back..Cannot believe all the good reviews for this product.

CobraCo FB8008 Diamond Mesh Fire Pit with Screen and Cover

This is my first fire pit. I bought this particular model after reviewing more than 100 others for a handful of reasons listed under PRO below, and the product delivered well on every expectation.

PRO:

====

1. It's a large diameter model. I need it big enough to hold whatever firewood I can buy locally, and this model handles it all well. I don't have to chop normal firewood into littler pieces.

2. It's a deep model. Those little pan models are out of the question. This model holds several pieces of wood and all the newspaper I care to ball up underneath. When I'm ready to light it, a single match takes care of everything for the first couple hours. Instead of giving the fire my constant attention, I can enjoy my family and guests.

3. There's a wonderful flat surface ringing the pit, and it's tall enough to be useful. The ring stays cool, perfect for plates and drinks. We particularly like keeping mugs of hot chocolate on the ring as we settle around the fire after dark, having eaten dinner there when it was light out. We also bought marshmallow roasting sticks that work beautifully with this fire pit.

4. The diamond mesh allows superior air flow. A fire cannot thrive without air, and this pit provides far more than other models. I could wish that the pan's bottom allowed air also, but that would allow debris (and hot coals) to fall through.

5. The mesh lid is solid and effective. I have no worries about safety when the lid is in place.

6. The entire unit is solid. Some friends have a more rickety model. This fire pit's legs are sturdily attached, but their real stability comes from their wide base.

7. Absolutely zero maintenance is required after initial assumbly. Just park this fire pit in your back yard and pull up a few of those soccer-mom sideline chairs. The firewood itself requires a bit of attention of course, but there's nothing to turn or tighten on the fire pit itself.

8. It comes with a cover! That's something you definitely want, and this model saves you that expense. My cover lasted until the lawnmowing service started a few months later, but I expect that any cover of any quality would not have survived that weed-eater treatment. Shame on me for leaving the fire pit in my suburban backyard grass instead of building a patio or laying out some bricks.

CON:

====

1. Assembly was a bit more difficult than I expected, but not bad really. All the parts are black, so it's hard even to see the holes and alignments. The metal edges aren't sharp exactly, but neither are they smooth and comfortable like rolled edges. The instructinos are clearly written in real English. But legs were attachable curving inward instead of outward, and the big ring was attachable upside-down. I could imagine v2.0 of this model ensuring that parts can only be assembled correctly. This one minor point almost gave this product less than a perfect score, but ultimately the finished product is what I rated not the assembly.

2. After six months of occasional use, the wire mesh lid looks a little burned in one place. I expect that the fire got too hot once, and that a steel wire brush would make it look new again. But I'm still in zero-maintenance mode, and I care far more about the function than continuing the like-new look.

Overall Summary: It's bigger than it looks, and quite solid. The size allows pre-building a long-lasting fire, and the mesh allows air to feed that fire so you don't need to tend it constantly. The wide, flat ring surface makes the whole unit more functional.

The product itself is actually really nice. Pretty much it's the main bowl that sits in the frame with the legs so that when you have the firepit going the main bowl is hot but the outer metal stay cool.

The problem I had with the product was that one of the legs was broken out of the box and the mesh cover was dented. I guess thankfully I have a lot of patients and am in no hurry; I called the company to request replacement for these parts under warranty. Now some may go crazy considering how long it's taking for these parts to arrive. (Around a month) but that's because they need to ship the part from China to their HQ in the US and then ship it to you. Best part is the request stays in the their records, I've dealt with so many other companies and half the time the ticket number would just magically disappear *cough HTC cough*. They even personally called me up to give me the status of the part and to give me the situation of the part.

Be aware that if any parts are missing you will be asked to ship the whole fire pit to Woodstream for replacement. I was missing the screen handle and bolt and they told me to ship the whole fire pit back to them for replacement. Sorry, I did not stay on the call long enough to find out if the shipping would be at my cost or theirs.

In my opinion this is pretty poor customer service for a minor part. There are a lot of other choices, I plan to avoid this company in the future.

Whoever said "she" assembled this in 15 minutes, must have had extra hands helping or assembled it in a black hole time warp! Took me a solid hour. The tools provided are adequate but not "hand-friendly" and a philips-head screw driver is needed but not provided (no big deal). Whoever is counting bolts, nuts, and screws miscounted on my order, apparently just as with other orders. I had one less screw than necessary and two extra bolts than needed; so I improvised and used a nut where there was to be a screw. When your unit comes with insufficuent nuts, bolts, and screws, either improvise as I did or take one of whatever you are missing down to Lowes/Home Depot and pay the 32cents per nut/bolt/screw rather than returning the entire fire pit. Also, instructions neglect to tell you to be certain that the "ring" is below the upper lip of the fire canister and not above it during assembly. After assembly (1 hour), loved it! Whoever said "her" kids sat their hot cocoa on the ring must not have had a robust fire going at the time; the heat generated will melt or super-heat anything left on the useful decorative ring. Be careful what you put on the ring ... it gets really hot! All-in-all I really like the unit, but the pit fits too tightly to remove from the ring (at first) when dumping ashes out .... so you have to lift pit, ring, and all to dump, but its doable. After a fire or two the pit lifted from the ring for easier dumping. The actual pit is a really wide diameter, which I love for burning broken/fallen branches and split logs in ... you can easily sit 6 around this pit or 8-10 at a farther distance from the pit. Enjoy it... I am!

Just got it. Quite fast...2 days free shipping, Sat. delivery. Assembled in less than an hour. All parts needed where there, with the exception of washers (it lost a star for this). I highly recommend using stainless steel lock washers on all the "ring" assembley screws (8) and under the mesh lid cover for it's handle, and star lock washers on the (4) feet screws. That's what I did anyway. The included tiny open-end wrench will drive you crazy (another reason for the lost star) so be sure to have a 10mm open-end/box wrench and a 10mm speed nut driver if you can. The rest are Allen nuts (8) which I personally hate, but they include an Allen nut driver in a good size. You also need a #2 or #3 Phillips driver. The assembly went easily with the right tools. Everything fit well and looked great after assembly. The paint/coating was not scratched anywhere. The welds seem ok. Seems quite sturdy.

We looked at a lot of fire pits before choosing this one. We like the all black coating....it goes with everything, and and black residue from smoke etc. will merely blend in. One of the main reasons we chose this one is it's height. It's only 14" high, and we happen to have 2 Eddie Bauer folding camping chairs that are 12" high. Others we considered are 23" high or so, and would be too high for our EB chairs and even regular chairs (typically 17-18"). In any event, we wanted a low profile pit, not something that dominated our new natural stone patio, but merely enhanced it. We also feel that the low profile is safer....less top heavy with a lower flame/spark profile. Be sure to put at least 1" of sand or DG (decomposed granite) in the bottom before using.

Have not lit a fire yet, but don't need to in order to review it. The fire part is easy. We will simply use Duraflame logs to start it and throw in firewood as needed.

The looking mechanism is great. I love the color and the fact that its silicone. The only problem is the thickness: ex when i'm frying tacos it gets frustrating having to attempt several times. Not sure if i would recommend. For the price i expect something much better designed.

I got this to go with my red colored Lodge cookware with the white porcelain interior. I'm not the only one cooking and it alerts others to use the red silicone cooking tongs with the red cookware that needs protection from scratches. I prefer the 9" size. It seems that I can get my hands up and down it faster to lock or unlock when needed. Dishwasher safe is a plus.

Maverick OT-3BBQ Kitchen Thermometer, Black

I have had the Maverick for almost a year and I am well pleased with it. I read some of the reviews before purchasing and saw the problems with the cables so I ordered the one designed for BBQ and smokers, with the steel braided cable. I use this primarily in the oven in the house. In fact it stays in the oven all the time. The opening and closing of the door has not affected the cable. I also rarely turn it off. I keep it on the non-averaging mode so it shows current actual tempurature. I replaced the AAA battery (regular batery non-alcaline)for the first time last week after it had been on for the best part of 10 months, 24/7. I don't have a good way to validate its accuracy other than looking at the way baked goods come out after I use the Maverick to adjust the oven temp. On that basis I find it to be accurate. I am happy enough with this to order a Maverick for my son.

I bought this to monitor the temperature in my smoker. Smoking a pork shoulder for ten hours or so requires strict temperature control and this little device has proved invaluable. There are more elaborate models out there that have more functions but this one is just a simple thermometer with an alarm setting that will beep when your desired temp is reached if you want as well as a timer function. It's accurate and it works but the real reason I rate it so highly is I forgot about it and left it outside all last winter! This thing endured some nasty weather and you know what? It still works! I didn't even need to replace the battery! I'm very impressed with this thing's durability and I highly recommend it.

No complaints. My wife has thought for years that the kitchen oven was running hot. By using our new Maverick, I was able to verify that the oven was indeed hot by 12 to 20 degrees depending on the temperature. Per oven instuctions, I lowered the temperature scale by 15 degrees. Now she's happy.

I was going to remove a star because the product documentation, although well written, did not give an accuracy tolerance.

But on the Maverick website () it is stated (in response to a question): "All of our digital thermometers have a tolerance of +/(3-4) degrees F...".

Excellent thermometer for either BBQ or regular Kitchen Oven usage. The main rule to follow is to avoid making sharp bends in the probe cable. If you do make sharp bends, either in storage or in use, you may damage the cable and render it useless. The probe tip mounts easily in the included "foot mount" and the probe tip should be placed near the item being cooked. If using it in the oven, you can close the oven door on the cable without causing any damage but just be sure that this does not cause any "kinks" in the cable. For storage, it will be safer to coil up the cable rather than storing it in the "bowtie" fashion that it was originally packaged with. I use this unit for both Kitchen oven and outdoor BBQ grills and it works great in both applications. Be aware, however, that your oven will have a fluctuating temperature. For example,if you set it for 350 degrees, the actual temperature in the oven will likely cycle up to about 375 and then shut off until the temperature drops to about 325. The OT-03BBQ thermometer display will rise and fall throughout these cycles, so you will need to take this into consideration.

My experience over many examples, however, is that the temperatures displayed (or selected)by most residential ovens are usually not accurate but some will have the capability for you to "adjust" the temperature setting. This capability, used in conjunction with the BBQ thermometer, will allow you to more accurately adjust your oven settings.

This is great for monitoring the smoker's internal temperature and the display is large enough that it can be viewed from my kitchen window with the smoker sitting outside. My only complaint is that once it is set to the mode to view average temperature, it beeps almost constantly for temperatures over or under by a set number of degrees. Would be even better if there was a means to stop the beeper and still display average temperature.

Previously spent $1000 on a grill that rusted through in 3 years (with a cover). Just recently purchsed this Napoleon model and very pleased. Small footprint but enough cooking surface for 12 burgers. Was not looking for a grill the length of my patio!Heats extremely quickly with the two burners and smaller space. Heats to 800 degrees for quick searing. Wheels better than other models.Only complaint had to do with assembly. Plenty of bolts but inexplicably no nuts. No reference to nuts in the assembly instuctions. No nuts in the plastic packaging material. Weird. Had to go to Home Depot to get nuts to complete assembly. But very pleased with unit. Cover fits securely as well. Easy to recommend.

I've only used this appliance a dozen times in a couple of weeks, so it might malfunction tomorrow, but. . .

In the first place, mine heats up very quickly, so I've begun putting my hamburger or sausage in it after about 30-60 seconds. It cooks ground sausage like Owens brand like a dream. Hamburger or sausage, you just place a mound of meat in the center and lock down the top. The heating element is only in the top, so if appearance is important to you, flip the patty after a couple of minutes. Sausage is done perfectly, as are the hamburgers. I haven't tried frozen patties, because I prefer the taste of fresh.

Several Months Later Update:

Oh, poor me. This little appliance didn't live up to my expectations (after I bought a second one!) For one thing, the non-stick coating started coming off. Then the handle broke. Too bad. Changing the rating from 5 to 1 star.

This product is inferior at best. The plastic handle broke the first time I used it. Also, the grilling surface is not big enough to accomodate a standard size frozen hamburger patty. I do not recommend!!

I never got the chance to see if the "non-stick" coating would eventually start to flake off (as noted in other reviews here) -this product broke on the very first use. I followed the instructions to a "T" and as I squeezed it closed to cook the burger, the bottom tray's (rigid plastic) handle snapped off, rendering it useless. The burger never even got a chance to start cooking. Perhaps that's a good thing, since the jagged hole where the handle used to join the side of the bottom tray -a hole created when the handle snapped off -would have allowed the hot grease to pour out of the opening and all over the counter. Into the trash can the Quick Burger griller went. A very poor excuse for an appliance. Save your money and look elsewhere for a more reliable, well-constructed and non-defective product. I'm shocked that a well-known name like Presto would sell such a poorly designed and manufactured product. One star here ... only because "0" or negative stars aren't available.

I purchased this as an option to frying burgers in a pan. The thing heated up very quickly and when my boyfriend picked it up by the handle, he got burned. He put the burger in, closed the handle and the handle immediately snapped off. Had a half cooked burger that he had to finish cooking in a fry pan anyway. I wasn't too upset as it didn't cost much in the home store it was purchased at but still I could have saved the time and trouble. Don't bother with this.

Piece of crap. Handle broke the very first time I used it. Glued it back as best I could but the plastic stress points are so flimsy and weak it broke again. It is NOT like the old ones that were made in the US...just garbage.
