This is a great idea. The problem is that the gap is too small for my BBQ. So it is no good for home, but I use it for my portable camping BBQ. Just be aware it doesn't fit all grills. Unless they have started making larger gaps. I bought this long ago, so maybe the problem has been addressed. Sherry:)

Did not care for this product. Very hard to use and not very effective. You would be better off with a copper brush for your stainless steel grates. I would not recommend this product.

I loved my first panini grill and used it frequently the first several months after purchasing it. I had high hopes that this would be large enough to fix two sandwhiches at a time as well as be easy to clean. Easy to clean is the biggest selling point with its removable trays. It even has a little drip pan which is a little hard to get to but better than putting the whole presss in the sink which I had to do with my old grill...however, this thing does not heat up as well as my older, cheaper model. And I miss the crunchy crust. Even putting the grill on high does not seem to do it...it does have a sensor to indicate when it is hot enough but it still does not do a very good job.

While most people enjoy pizza on Friday nights, we've always had Paninis. We've also gone through about 3 of them over the years. The BEST THING about the VillaWare? The grates come out for cleaning!! Yeah!! With the flick of a button, they are out and ready to be soaped up. This is a big deal if you've ever tried to clean even an "easy" panini grill after using it. Sleek and attractive, you won't mind displaying the unit either. It has a hinged press for different heights and also lays FLAT for grilling. (we haven't had this feature yet). This means you can cook burgers and veggies. Grease Drain, lid lock and power lighting so you can tell when it's heated and cooled down. The handle is large and easy to press. Nice item!

VillaWare's new multi-purpose griller is a quality product that works well for creating a tasty grilled sandwich. Heavy duty and deluxe looking, it has lots of good features, including large non-stick surfaces, pans that come off for cleaning, a hidden drip pan, an easy to use dial, and a tubular handle that is far enough from the heat when you use it.

The outer and inner surfaces of the product are nice. They all wipe clean with ease, and though the grill surfaces inside have to be scrubbed, the non-stick surface and the fact they can be removed helps tremendously. The lock works well on the cover as does the mechanism to open and close the unit. The inside holds three large sandwiches and four burgers or chicken pieces without crowding. Unlike other grillers I have used, this one is easy to hold down with its substantial handle and seems to compress well. The heating and cooking times both seem reasonable and in line with other products I have used (5 mins to heat up to medium temperature, about 5 minutes to grill an average sandwich.)

A few things I would mention on the negative side are its size and the short cord. Being large is probably great for cooking, but it's a big item to leave out on the counter, so it's necessary to find a fairly large storage space. As for the cord, it is only about 18 inches long, so it need to be close to an outlet. Additionally, the included manual only tells you how to use the device and includes no recipes or cooking instructions -and points to VillaWare's website which has very little details. These are minor complaints, however, since the machine seems to be deluxe in most ways. I would recommend it if you like grilled food.

Once I got this thing figured out, we have been getting consistently delicious pannini. Things to consider: 1) Set the temp to high and forget it, 2) If you make thicker sandwiches, you need to be careful placing the lid on top (swivel it up from the back hinge and carefully use a spatula to keep the sandwich from moving forward on the grill). The trick is to get the top to sit parallel with the bottom on top of the sandwich. I am glad the grill plates are removable, because the plates need cleaning after every use. I gotta say though, this thing makes great sandwiches!

What a great kitchen appliance. It is simple and intuitive to use, heats up and cooks very quickly and evenly, and produces a perfect Panini. Best of all, it's a cinch to clean. Just pop off the plates and stick 'em in the dishwasher and a quick wipe down. Worth an extra few dollars for the quality features. I just got this so I haven't tried it yet for grilling, but I bet it would work great for that, too....and now an update....perfect for grilling hotdogs. Takes up very little counter space as you can store vertically. Still love it.

The original product has what the other reviewer refers to as a plastic thread. After my first use with the original product I stripped the thread out. The replacement comes with a metal inserted thread and will not strip out. So kudos to them for figuring that out. HOWEVER they should put it in the original heads as well not just the replacement. The bristles in my opinion are tough and has lasted me thru some abuse. You can read my review on the original product. Im not overly impressed overall but it certainly does the job as expected and has lasted me almost a yr without issues.

The plastic hole where the bold screws in to keep it in place should be metal for a locking seal. The bristles should be in better and more durable. It cleans well but I feel the quality and longevity could be a lot better.

I bought this for a Sears infrared outdoor BBQ. If you seen one the grates are really hard to clean because of the v-shaped grill. The Hawg grill brush and replacement heads work great!! It gets in all the nooks and cranny's.

Nostalgia Electrics RHD-800 Retro Series Hot Dog Roller

If you like hot dogs then you need one of these.

This is literally a "set-it and forget-it" cooking device.

Bought it originally for the office but now I want one for home.

Pros:

-simple to use

-easy clean up

-makes perfectly cooked dogs

Cons:

if your dogs are bun length you won't fit 8 but rather 4 on at a time

Let me address a few comments I've read above concerning this unit.

Yes, sometimes the hot dogs don't want to roll at first. Why? Because the way they are vacuum sealed squeezes them into a squarish shape. Don't worry once they start to heat and plump they'll roll just fine. As I stated above and others mentioned if you are cooking longer dogs you'll only be able to fit 4 dogs instead of 8. The bun warmer is more of a bun drier as others have said so we don't use that. The right knob turns the rollers on and the left knob controls the heat. We run the left knob at 5 o'clock and in 20-25 minutes you'll have a nice evenly cooked hot dog with perfect color and perfect temperature inside. We've cooked more than 100 hot dogs on this unit since my purchase less than a month ago, unit is still going strong with zero issues.

In conclusion I can't think of one bad thing to say about this unit.

If you are even a little interested in this item don't hesitate, order one, you won't regret it.

I found this product to be very nice looking and well constructed. And, it worked as advertised. My mistake was using very fat hotdogs for the first run. Careful placement was necessary to get them to rotate without rubbing together. Regular hotdogs would have been a wiser choice. Between initial warmup and actual cook time, it does take a while, but it is meant to cook slowly while turning the dogs. The machine is completely silent when operating.

Cleanup is very easy with the roller assembly and drip pan removable. but one must wait for the machine to cool down first to prevent getting burned.

If hotdog stand style doggies are your thing, you'll love this machine.

I purchased this item for our Labor Day party and was not disappointed! It was a big hit with all ages it ran almost continually from Fri night to Mon afternoon and worked exactly as advertised. If you love hot dogs, you need this! This machine is a great value and it makes a great hot dog, plus it toasts the buns . . . making a perfect "ball park" tasting hot dog! If you are in a hurry, this isn't the way to cook a hot dog, but in about 20 minutes you will have a perfectly cooked hot dog. We love it for summer lunch at our pool . . . we set the temperature low and let the hot dogs roll for an hour while we swim and by the time the kids are ready for a break the hot dogs (and buns) are perfect!! I wish they made a bigger version because about six hot dogs is about all I can fit, other wise they don't roll and cook evenly. You definitely need to use the regular hot dogs for best results, the long dogs and fat dogs definitely don't work as well. I also appreciate that this machine is easy to clean and was a breeze to assemble

We went to use this for the 1st time New Years Eve. Everyone was excited because it reminded us of olden times. It started to turn then quit. The motor was turning but not the rollers. Very sloppy fit. I took it apart by prying the rubber legs off and taking 6 screws out of the bottom. Adjusted the motor mount so that the spindle went farther out into the roller spindle. Put it back together and it works great. Shouldn't have to do this with something new.

Nordic Ware Superior Steel Searing Grill

I purchased this pan while on holiday in the US and brought it home to India, where such pans are not yet available.

I was very pleased with the results when I cooked chicken, and especially relieved that it was compact and very easy to handle and clean.

My husband and I were a bit disappointed with the pan. We've only used it a few times but the non-stick coating seems to be deteriorating already and something about the spacing or height of the ridges makes it hard to cook large sausages evenly. I'd say steer clear.

We received it after 1st attempt was chipped and peel off. 2nd one we bought directly from Amazon instead of other vendor who failed on handling and shipping it safely. I guess we just stay with Amazon.com directly from now on. We decided to buy 2nd Nordicware high sided pan from Amazon directly and it arrived ok too. Seems other vendors don't know how to pack or handling their products to be shipped and arrived safely. This isn't only defect product we received from other vendor but Amazon directly. It is waste of time to deal with defect or wrong item product so we decided to keep some wrong/defect items worth not more than 20 USD/each. Not only we are located outside USA but also have no much time as travelling a lot.

Any way, this grill pan is OK. I used it for cooking most of meat. I.e. hubby's steak, beef burger and turned out nice. Surprisingly it cooked great beef teriyaki with oyster sauce. I even tried the teriyaki even though I don't enjoy red meat as much fish/seafood. Is it the pan or my gas stove but it seem can't produce heat evenly so I have to watch any meat stationed in the middle after I tried any of my gas stove burners. If it is the stove I guess it will happen to my other pans and pots, All-Clad and American Kitchen/Regalware but they are just fine. This is the reason why I give you 3 stars. It is ok pan for daily use. It might be 3.5 or 4 stars if we don't have to deal with returning any.

After several wood handle brushes and my knuckles getting too close to the barbecue fire, I found this wire brush superior. The plastic handle allows good control and keeps my knuckles from touching the hot grills. The bristles are retaining their position even at the edges.

I bought this brush to increase my total order enough to qualify for free shipping. I needed a wire brush anyway, but it's not the kind of item I would normally go online for. I was pleasantly surprised. The handle design eliminates the traditional scraped knuckles when using a wood-handled brush, and so far, the bristles seem to stay in without dislodging longer than with a wood-handled style. I have had some of the wood type last less then a day of use. I will most likely stick with this style in the future. My only concern (a minor one) is how well it will hold up to heat, like brushing welds, etc.

The brush is of so poor quality that the wire 'hair' fel off the brush before I finished brushing the grille grid.

It practically fell apart after less than 2 minutes of brushing.

I've now used this for brisket and pork shoulder. I cooked brisket before on my kamado and it was good, but not perfect. With this controller it was, without question, perfect. The biggest smoke ring I've ever seen. Just set the temperature and go play golf, take a nap or whatever you like. Come back in 12-14 hours and you are all set. Wonderful product.

Maverick OT-3BBQ Kitchen Thermometer, Black

I have had the Maverick for almost a year and I am well pleased with it. I read some of the reviews before purchasing and saw the problems with the cables so I ordered the one designed for BBQ and smokers, with the steel braided cable. I use this primarily in the oven in the house. In fact it stays in the oven all the time. The opening and closing of the door has not affected the cable. I also rarely turn it off. I keep it on the non-averaging mode so it shows current actual tempurature. I replaced the AAA battery (regular batery non-alcaline)for the first time last week after it had been on for the best part of 10 months, 24/7. I don't have a good way to validate its accuracy other than looking at the way baked goods come out after I use the Maverick to adjust the oven temp. On that basis I find it to be accurate. I am happy enough with this to order a Maverick for my son.

I bought this to monitor the temperature in my smoker. Smoking a pork shoulder for ten hours or so requires strict temperature control and this little device has proved invaluable. There are more elaborate models out there that have more functions but this one is just a simple thermometer with an alarm setting that will beep when your desired temp is reached if you want as well as a timer function. It's accurate and it works but the real reason I rate it so highly is I forgot about it and left it outside all last winter! This thing endured some nasty weather and you know what? It still works! I didn't even need to replace the battery! I'm very impressed with this thing's durability and I highly recommend it.

No complaints. My wife has thought for years that the kitchen oven was running hot. By using our new Maverick, I was able to verify that the oven was indeed hot by 12 to 20 degrees depending on the temperature. Per oven instuctions, I lowered the temperature scale by 15 degrees. Now she's happy.

I was going to remove a star because the product documentation, although well written, did not give an accuracy tolerance.

Excellent thermometer for either BBQ or regular Kitchen Oven usage. The main rule to follow is to avoid making sharp bends in the probe cable. If you do make sharp bends, either in storage or in use, you may damage the cable and render it useless. The probe tip mounts easily in the included "foot mount" and the probe tip should be placed near the item being cooked. If using it in the oven, you can close the oven door on the cable without causing any damage but just be sure that this does not cause any "kinks" in the cable. For storage, it will be safer to coil up the cable rather than storing it in the "bowtie" fashion that it was originally packaged with. I use this unit for both Kitchen oven and outdoor BBQ grills and it works great in both applications. Be aware, however, that your oven will have a fluctuating temperature. For example,if you set it for 350 degrees, the actual temperature in the oven will likely cycle up to about 375 and then shut off until the temperature drops to about 325. The OT-03BBQ thermometer display will rise and fall throughout these cycles, so you will need to take this into consideration.

My experience over many examples, however, is that the temperatures displayed (or selected)by most residential ovens are usually not accurate but some will have the capability for you to "adjust" the temperature setting. This capability, used in conjunction with the BBQ thermometer, will allow you to more accurately adjust your oven settings.

Another caution: Do not leave the cable in the oven when using the "oven cleaning" function. The extreme heat from this cleaning operation will likely ruin the BBQ probe.

This is great for monitoring the smoker's internal temperature and the display is large enough that it can be viewed from my kitchen window with the smoker sitting outside. My only complaint is that once it is set to the mode to view average temperature, it beeps almost constantly for temperatures over or under by a set number of degrees. Would be even better if there was a means to stop the beeper and still display average temperature.

I like how hot the grill gets and the size of it. I dislike how greasy everything gets and the fact that I cant put the tray in a dishwasher. Instructions suggest to wipe it with soft cloth but its pain to clean all the grease off.

This is best indoor grill we have ever used. The ONLY negative thing I can find to say about it is that you have to clean it right after it cools off. Make sure you have a soft scrub pad and some q-tips. It will make clean up a lot easier.

It was more money than I had planned to spend, but when I read that it was 1500 watts that sold it for me, as I really wanted to be able to sear meat on high heat. It cooks great with beautiful grill marks and surprisingly very little smoke. As another review said, if you following the cleaning directions, it cleans beautifully! I have back problems so it's difficult to stand at the outside grill. I put it on a rolling cart and it works perfectly. I will look at other products made by this company as well.
