In the past I have used a few forks and thermometers and they registered much faster. I have burnt my arm hair waiting almost a minute for the fork to get to 180* for chicken/pork. I feel even the price doesn't make it a worthwhile purchase

I've been looking for a good grid to use on my grill to cook vegetables. I was hoping this might be the one, but it was not. The non-stick surface is nice and definitely aided in preventing the veggies from sticking. The problem was that the non-stick coating started peeling off after the first use! Also this product has flat sides so small veggies tend to roll right off and into the fire. I ended up returning the product as it appeared to be defective.

LA's Totally Awesome Grill and Oven Cleaner (40 fl oz)

I actually got this at my local dollar store, but this stuff works great! Just note that if you are going to clean more than 2-3 squirts of the liquid indoors you should use gloves and a respirator mask (a cloth one seems to be fine). I've been cleaning my kitchen with this and it literally melts the built up grease off of anything it touches. Highly recomended.

Awesome Heavy Duty Oven and Grill Cleaner is a lemon scented product. It is powerful and dependable and reduces elbow grease. I am very pleased with this product. It removed baked grease and it worked on my oven when it was cold. It was fast and I did not have to leave it overnight to get the oven or racks clean. It was great when I cleaned the pit grills outside. It really made cleaning the racks a lot faster. I am impressed and again this product saved me time and money. It lasts a long time. It is very nice having the fresh lemon scent. It does start working right away and gives the surfaces a bright, clean shine. I will continue using this product. I like the fact that this product can be used for more than just one thing. I was concerned that it might not have enough strength because of the price but I found out that it does pack the power and a strong cleaning punch. I will be watching for other products made by awesome.

BBQ Flint Fire Striker- Square Pocket Size with Attachment Clip

Utter crap, completely fell apart before i even had a chance to fill it....the striker rod and the outer reflective panels fell off....contacted seller, about it, said they'd send a replacement, haven't seen anything in weeks.

I purchased 4 of these for camping, and just for emergencies. All but 1 failed to work at all. i didnt return the bad one but oh well. The others work fairly well. In other words they light about 80% of the time. And yea the other reviewer it right the chrome cover fell off one so far. Thats because I have it on a keychain. I assume these things wont stand up to a bit of wear and tear. Still, they arent bad for the price.

The bottom will not stay on and the top will leak fluid if on its side. I got it to strike 2 time before the wick burned away and so that was that so much for 15,000 lights maybe out of the flint witch is all it is good for.

This item is what it says it is; a "pocket fire" starter! I received the item, and immediately filled it with the appropriate fuel, after testing it's fire starting capability and slipping the lighter into my pocket I caught a strong whiff of lighter fluid. I pulled the lighter out of my pocket to find that all of the fuel was leaking out into my pocket (hence the title). Upon inspection of the fuel reservoir I noticed that the o-ring designed to prevent such leakage was broken. No problem, I bought two! So I pull out the second one, fill it with fuel, attempt to light it, and the striker snapped in two! This lighter is a piece of junk! Do NOT buy this lighter, their are much better brands out there!

Weber 7531 Cast Iron Griddle

The description says it is 21 x 15 x 2 inches The actual dimension is 15 x 11.5 x 1 inches. The box it is packaged in meet the specification it says but not the product. It looks to be well made. Also it is made in China.

Amazon was great about returning it, thumbs up for that!

The griddle itself is great. It will not come seasoned. You have to do it yourself. I've got this griddle from Amazon. After opening a package found that it doesn't match item dimensions listed on Amazon website. Sent it back to Amazon and got a full refund without any problem. As I can see now Amazon removed product dimensions in the item descriptions. Anyway I give this griddle 5 stars because of the quality.

I recently purchased a 7531 griddle for my Weber Silver A and I'm really happy with it. Regardless of what the advertised dimensions say, this griddle perfectly replaces one of the 15" x 11.5" grill grates on the Weber Silver A or the Model 500. I leave one grill grate on along with the griddle and it really turns the Weber into a versatile outdoor cooker. The griddle is a must for grilled veggies and works just excellent for searing fish without it flaking apart and falling through the grates. Considering the cost, this thing is one inch thick cast iron and will last longer than you or I will so you'll never have to replace it if you reasonably care for it. Secondly, the original two grates for your Weber will last you twice as long because you'll only use one and have the second as a spare when the first one wears out. I'd give this 5 stars if it were made in the USA. It's made in China but I have to say it's heavy duty and well made.

I was looking for a waffle iron that would make old fashioned square waffles.{not Belgian waffles} I wanted the waffles to be thinner than Belgian but these waffles are too thin and do not seem very flavorful because of it.

This waffle baker is not suitable for breakfast waffles. The indentations are to shallow. Might be suitable for making waffle cones.

This is the worst waffle iron I have ever seen let alone used. There is literally NO isulation between the heating element and the outer metal covering so it gets as hot as the griddle. I can tell you that is VERY HOT as i made the mistake of touching the outside of it and it burned me pretty well. The irons do not fit tightly in the clips and it feels like they are going to come out when you flip it closed. I hate it and I am sending it back.

As soon as this arrived I was sure it would not work very well as it was just too light. The plates are way to thin to provide adequate even heat distribution, plus the heating coils are in the shape of a mushroom, with the front edge 1.25 inches from the coil, while the back corners are 4.25 inches from the heating coil, so by the time the back corners are cooked the front of the waffle is nearly a cracker. Also it takes over 8 minutes to cook one batch of waffles with the setting on the highest it can go. Has anyone else noticed that the manufactures of these kinds of products forgot how to make them sometime around 1980? Back to searching yard sales again for something made before 1975.

I own this device and I have a charcoal grill on my patio. Now I can put my "beer can chicken" on the grill for "about an hour" and know when the temperature gets within 20 degrees, then 10 degrees, the exactly at the target temperature of 165 in the breast meat. Love it. However, it is $16 cheaper at Target.com

The interface of the main unit is nice and intuitive. I had no problems figuring out how to use the features. The remote is somewhat irritating with the warning beeps at 20 degrees and 10 degrees from target. Especially when slow cooking where the temp may fluctuate a bit resulting in repeated warnings every time the temp crosses one of these thresholds.

My main complaint is the probe. At least I'm assuming it's the probe. I've used similar probe thermometers for years, so I am aware how careful you have to be with the probes. I treated this one with kid gloves, never letting the cord crimp or get any moisture anywhere near where the wire enters the metal probe. Yet after only one use, the temp now reads 275F in the air. The thermometer is now of no use to me other than as a clock.

This seems to do a decent job. In fact, it's entertaining. I already own a Taylor, unit sans the pager, for our indoor oven. It's provided years of service. I look for Taylor products after a pleasant experience with their customer service a few years ago. As for this unit, it's a real hoot when the pager goes off to let you know the food is done. Do not limit it's use to meat. You can cook potatoes, soup, a loaf of bread and even a cake in a barbecue so long as it is properly covered and the heat evenly distributed. 350 degrees of heat is the same whether it comes from a home oven or a barbecue.

My Husband had a similar thermometer and when it broke we never replaced it. After watching America's test kitchen recommend this product, i went right to Amazon and ordered it asap! It was an anniversary present. He has not used it yet! But I know he will love it!

American 11.75" Grill Pan

I love Staub and LeCreuset. I chose the Staub grill pan over the other because it was a tad bigger in size. It is GREAT for grilling meats to get those nice sear marks. You can use it inside the oven for a braise. Staub is well made and will last forever. It can be a little tough to clean up sometimes but I just allow it to soak in a little warm water and use a non-scratch pad for touch areas.

I would like to add that for practicality purposes -I must confess that I really haven't used this pan as much as I thought I would after owning if for approx 9 months. I find myself reaching for the cast iron skillet to sear meats in order to sear all of it -and popping in the oven to finish off if needed. If I want grill marks, I'll use the gas grill outside. This is just a personal preference and is by no means meant to dishonor the fine quality product that the Staub grill pan is. I would have bought a cast iron Staub skillet if I didn't already have a similar product.

Staub makes top quality skillets and grill pans and you can't go wrong with them. Yes, they are expensive so make sure you will use them!!

Upon using this one time, the enamel cracked. It's really too bad because it sears very nicely and was moderately easy to clean compared to other cast iron enameled grill pans

I purchased the enameled cast-iron pan with great expectations. The first time I used it, on an electric stove, I heard a loud *crack* three times. The enamel had split. I returned the pan to the embarrassed shop.

The first time I used the replacement, another loud *crack* and another split enamel. I'm returning it yet again, and will not get another. Too bad, because the food grilled up great.

Also, the handles are NOT removable.
