Santa Fe QM2R 900-Watt Quesadilla Maker

Santa Fe QM2R 900-Watt Quesadilla MakerThis Quesadilla maker lets you get creative with your quesadillas. Of course you can make quesadillas on the stove-top in a pan like some reviewers suggested...but this makes it easy, no-mess and you don't have to stand at the stove top to flip, so you can bring it to the table and have a tabletop party.

What I love is that I can make quesadillas with very little oil in this maker as opposed to stove top. The quesadillas come out crispy and with distinct segments that I can quickly cut with a pizza cutter. I love serving the wedges as snacks at cocktail parties, especially as they come out crispy and sealed and can be served as a finger food.

There is also no end to fillings. My favorites 1) spinach/sundried tomatoes/cheese or 2)mushrooms/red peppers/grilled chicken/provolone cheese or 3)mashed potatoes seasoned with red onions/green chilli/cilantro/a dash of any good spice mix/a light sprinkling of cheese 4) roasted corn/red pepper/black beans/cheese 5) broccoli/chicken/cheese 6) spicy turkey mince cooked Indian "keema" style with green peas and tomatoesas you can see the list of yummy ingredients goes on and on.

I just prep the surfaces with a quick spray of olive/canola oil and don't use much cheese. So much better than the calorie rich quesadillas you get in restaurants. You can even use any tasty leftovers/casseroles as stuffing for the quesadillas. My family and friends simply love the quesadilla parties where I lay out many ingredients and they can mix and match and make their own quesadillas.

Some tips: If you use cheese try using the natural cheese which creates less mess than the melting processed variety. Also buy the bigger tortillas so that the whole surface is covered and the edges are neatly sealed. If you must use a small tortilla, put less filling right in the center and go very easy on the cheese, or it will seep out and create a mess. If you do get a mess, it is very easy to clean it off with a damp paper towel right after you take out your quesadilla.

Napoleon Dynamite's grandma would be proud to own one of these! Works great. One little tip before you head to the grocery store... you must use the LARGE "burrito size" tortillas with this. If you try to use smaller tortillas like "taco size" or "fajita size," they won't extend out to the part of the grilling surface that seals the edges and your melting cheese will flow out the sides. The instructions say you must use a 10" diameter torilla. That's usually sold as "burrito size." I agree with Diane that an on/off switch would have been a nice feature, but it still works wonderfully.

I love this product! Try it with the flavored tortilla wraps they have out now, I had a great spinach tortilla quesadilla with green chilis, awesome, after that I had to buy one for myself and I don't regret it. It preheats within five minutes, flop a full-size burrito tortilla or wrap on there, load it with fillings, throw another one on close the lid, let it heat and there you are: lunch in under fifteen minutes, it's that easy. Since I am very lazy about any sort of cooking, this has made my lunches so much more fulfilling. Another note, so far, none of the fillings I've used have stuck to the nonstick surface and it is easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge. Just don't overfill the tortillas or they won't seal at the edges and the fillings will leak out.

I have a cheese quesadilla fanatic for a husband and never could get his approval when it came to making his favorite at home. Tried the oven and broiler method and just ended up with either a soggy mess or a burnt beyond edible trash can item. Well, I happened to stumble upon this handy little item. Wow, has this made my life easier. Better yet, He can now make his own. It makes the most wonderful quesadillas ever. Just a few minutes in the machine and you have the perfect snack. They are sealed and have the perfect consistancy. And don't know why but stay warmer longer than others. I figure this is due to the sealing of the tortilla. I also love the separations in the cooker. It makes it so easy to serve and gives it a real professional look. I have also tried a few of the recipes that come along with the machine and they were just great. Give this maker a try. It really will make your life easier, whether it's for your quesadilla fanatic or for the kids afterschool snacks. Also, Stands on end so it's easy to store.

NFL Detroit Lions Vinyl Covered Long Neck Bottle Opener

NFL Detroit Lions Vinyl Covered Long Neck Bottle OpenerIt's my fault I didn't read the description good enough so when I received it I was surprised at how big it was! It's almost novelty but none the less pretty fun. Just pay attention to the dimensions unlike me :) Still like I said a very cool product. Grease Grizzly, 32oz, Pack of 6

Grease Grizzly, 32oz, Pack of 6I found an old bottle from years ago in my laundry room cabinet and decided to try it on the grease that I had not been able to get off of my stove and it's back splash with any other de-greaser. It worked and got rid of it. I ordered this newer version and it is no longer colored and no longer perfumed which is a plus, but it also is not quite as potent as the older version, thus the four stars. It is however still better than any other de-greaser I have found for my kitchen. I ordered a case of it to share with my four sons, since I have not found a contender for it in stores.

Weber 1840301 Summit S-450 Natural Gas Tuck-Away Rotisserie Grill

Weber 1840301 Summit S-450 Natural Gas Tuck-Away Rotisserie GrillI have owned this grill for just over a year, and use it at least once a week, more in the summer, and I even use it the winter (I live in Avon, OH, so I have grilled in temps as low as the mid-teens). A few good points: It lights all the time every time on one or two clicks of the auto-ignitor. This is really great and saves a lot of hassle dealing with matches. Natural gas is wonderful, as no more propane tanks to deal with. The finish is top notch (but for this price I wish the back was also stainless steel). The smoker box is really a nice feature (I usually use hickory soaked in water and get a good 15 minutes of hickory smoke from a filled smoker box). The rotisserie works well when using the rear infrared burner (I have used it for large beef roasts and chickens). One of the best features are the thick stainless steel grates no rust and they clean up perfectly every time and provide great consistent grill marks! The grease trap works flawlessly, and I feel very healthy when I empty out all the grease that collects in the trap! Also, since the unit is completely sealed, there is not greasy grill mess or particles that collect on the patio around the grill it is very neat and tidy to cook on.

A few nits: The side burner runs too hot, in general. It is a poor quality burner and will burn and boil sauces too quickly, even on the lowest setting. It works, just not as good as one would expect at this price point. The main burners, in my opinion, could be a bit hotter, but only for the searing function when cooking steaks. It gets plenty hot, trust me, but it does not quite produce the level of searing on steaks as I would like, but it is very close. If searing is really important it might be best to get the model with the infrared searing burner. Also, the NG hose could be a few feet longer, at least for my application.

My cooking experience is very positive with this grill. I always had cheap grills and was always frustrated with the lack of temperature control. With this grill I get very precise temperature control all the time. I must say that in general I have never burned anything and things like chicken breast come out nice and juicy. Cooking results are very consistent, and I tend to cook very precisely based on time and temperature. For consistency I always let foods sit out for a few minutes so they are not too cold directly from the refrigerator this is very important. I find I get best results by lighting all the burners and keep them all on low, as this sets a good baseline temperature, and then adjusting individual burners as needed. For example, a 1" thick steak is cooked to my liking by searing/cooking on high for 5 minutes on each side, then turning down to low and cooking for 3 more minutes on each side. I can pretty much predict the outcome by using trial and error to figure out what works for my desired cooking results. I also have cooked delicate pork tenderloin roasts with the indirect heat method (lower burners either side with cool burner in the middle) and they come out great). I have cooked about 16 burgers at once for large crowds, and the temperature control is a real party-saver in situations like this that require lots of monitoring. I have not had a bad result (again, start out slow with modest amounts of food to calibrate how this grill works in terms of temperature, heating, searing, etc.). I thought I would use the rotisserie and the side burner more, so in hindsight I could probably have saved some jingle by forgoing these features. Overall, this grill rocks and it blows away any grill I have ever owned (and I have had my share of them over the years).

Cast Aluminum Lid Prop

Cast Aluminum Lid PropMy boyfriend does alot of grilling so this holder is a wolderful item. You can keep your grill lid opened at different hights when need.

This prop is great for regulating the temperature of your grill without having to change the temperature of the burners, and it also allows you to keep the lid open while at the same time keeping the wind out on a blustery day. If you use your grill for anything other than burgers and hot dogs, you know you want to be able to prop the lid open at different levels sometimes, and this does it all! Perfect.

This cast aluminum grill lid prop is a MUST for anyone who grills. I props your lid open and keeps your grill from over heating, or hold it partially open if it is a windy day. I love this thing. I could not grill without it. I had one a few years back and stupidly gave it away to a friend who admired it. . I could not grill without it. So I purchased another one, and now I can grill expertly again. great product.

Nopro 12 x 9 Stainless Steel Roasting and Broiler Pan

Nopro 12 x 9 Stainless Steel Roasting and Broiler PanOf all the broiler pans I searched for, this was the best fit for my large toaster oven. Exactly 11 7/8 x 9". Great find!

I bought this for my toaster oven, keeping my fingers crossed that it'll fit (which it did, perfectly! ). The top plate with holes is more or less a permanent fixture in my oven, as its easier to clean than oven racks, and I use the bottom pan as a baking dish. I like that it's stainless steel, which is supposed to be a safe metal to cook/bake in and yet easy to clean.

I would have given it 5 stars, had it not been for the somewhat sharp sides. Otherwise the quality seems to be good. Get it!

Item surface is small and the indentations in the pan surface makes it difficult to clean. Other wise ok for cooking foods that do not stick.

Tried stick free coated pans and they only worked for a short time. I decided to go the "old fashioned way" and searched for a stainless steel pan. Could not find any in stores. Internet search brought me to this pan. I love it and plan to buy the larger one.

I am looking into purchasing one from The Vermont Country Store because Amazon does not seem to carry the one I want to replace this one with.

Cleaning this pan is quite a chore, getting into all those nooks is not easy, it is awkward.

I'm not happy at all with this design.

I am looking to purchase one I've seen which has a more simple design with slots that looks much, much easier to clean.

This is the second broiling pan that if been unhappy using.

Aside from the cleaning problem , it does work okay in the oven.

Charcoal Companion Cow Corn Holders, 4 pairs

Charcoal Companion Cow Corn Holders, 4 pairsA real fun accessory for your dinning table. I got lots of fun comments.

The only small negative the cow's horn is in the way when you get to the end of the corn.

These are so cute. The only complaint is that if you push them in far your fingers can still touch the corn. However, they halves have long prongs so there is no need to push the in all the way to the hilt.

Charcoal Companion Explorer Stainless-Steel Grilling Tongs with Folding Rosewood Handles

Charcoal Companion Explorer Stainless-Steel Grilling Tongs with Folding Rosewood HandlesReason for Purchase:

The reason I wanted to buy these tongs was to be able to take them with me when I go backpacking on overnight trips because of how the design allows you to fold up the tongs into a compact fashion. I really liked the wooden design on the handle and the sturdy metal material they were reinforced with.

Pros:

Great overall design

Durable and sturdy

Compact yet not too "heavy" --> for backpacking

Cons:

When I opened up the package today in the mail, I immediately noticed scratch marks on the wooded handle and on the metal part of the tongs as well. The thing that really upset me was that the tongs didn't even work!! The release pins that lock the folding parts of the tongs were both broken and not only could I not open them easily without jimmying them but when I did, the tongs didn't stay open and were loose and when I tried to close them, they got stuck again and I had to use a flat head screw driver to release the release pins by prying them open. I'm not a picky consumer and don't like giving anyone a hard time when buying things and wouldn't have wrote this review for no reason but when I buy something, I expect them to work; not to mention that I bought them brand new! At the same time, even if I had bought used or blemished tongs or any item for that matter, I expect them to work correctly, the scratches were the least of my concern and would've let that slide if that were the only thing wrong with them (even though I bought them new).

In closing, I went to Bass Pro Shops here in Mesa, Arizona and looked at these same tongs in the store, they were a million times better in quality. Needless to say, I made up a story and was actually able to exchange them for store credit and ended up saving money since they were $15 more at BPS. It all worked out for me but a little word to the wise DO NOT buy these tongs from this company and find another one that is more reliable. I understand sometimes people have bad experiences with companies but I think this "exception" is inexcusable. In addition, there was no phone number to call on my order form they sent me with the tongs in the package so I didn't bother even trying to but in any effort to call them because if they're going to send someone a product like the one I received, I don't see why they'd be of any more help anyways; which is why I just went to BPS instead to try my luck there, fortunately it worked out for me.

I wrote this review for you, the consumer, to help and I wouldn't have taken the time to do this otherwise but I don't want anyone else to have to go through the same issues as I did. If you have comments or questions about other places to buy this product cheaply and reliably, just message me on the review and I'd be more than happy to help you out.

Thanks and I hope this helps,

Greg Boston, Massachusetts

These were a gift to my husband for Father's Day. I was looking for a fun set of grilling tools and scored with these tongs! (I also purchased the spatula and fork) I originally purchased them for the "fun factor" of being able to fold them up like a pocket knife and put them in a drawer; when I received them I found I got more than I bargained for. The rosewood handles are very nice and the stainless steel is very sturdy, they are very well made and easy to open and close.

However, if you have small or weak hands these will not work very well; you need a large, strong grip in order to wield these.

I bought his along with the folding spatula and fork that are sold by the same company because I wanted something compact to keep with my gear. We do a lot of camping out of the trunk of our cars and don't have a lot of space for storage at home so I thought they would do the trick for us. They only take up 1/2 the amount of space that the old ones did.

They are a very well made item made with good quality wood and metal. I like that the fold in half and lock in place relatively easily. This also holds true for closing them as well. The curve in the handle makes them feel just right in your hand. About the only complaint that I have is that they feel a little springy. What I mean is that it doesn't feel like it really has enough torque so that you could pick up a really heavy piece of meat. They have done the job nicely with sausage and steaks which is about all I would use them for but I am definitely conscious not to drop the steak when I take it from the fire to the serving board.

I would definitely buy these again.

Nordic Ware 365 Indoor/Outdoor Chicken Leg Griller and Jalapeno Roaster

Nordic Ware 365 Indoor/Outdoor Chicken Leg Griller and Jalapeno RoasterI used the rack to smoke 17 chicken legs. With the fire and wood chips on one side of the grill and the rack of chicken legs on the other, they turn out great. My grandkids love the taste and before they went home, I had no chicken legs left. The rack keeps the legs suspended off the grill grade and keeps the moisture and flavor in the chicken. Very easy to clean after use.

This griller really works no need to be constantly "turning" chicken legs. Clean up is a snap. Recommend +++

AcuRite 00869 Wireless Grill Thermometer

AcuRite 00869 Wireless Grill ThermometerThe accuracy of the thermometer is great. I tested it in ice water and boiling water and it was accurate within 2 degrees in both cases.

My only disappointment is that the remote pager unit does not display the temperature. This is my own fault since on re-reading the description, it only says that the pager can also display a timer. Even there, the pager timer is independent of the one in the main unit, so you have to set both at the same time if you want to see how much time is left from the pager.

I couldn't get any readings beyond 10 feet, there is no temperature reading on the remote. When the probe burnt out (my fault), I tossed the unit rather than throwing more money into a poorly designed item.

Buy AcuRite 00869 Wireless Grill Thermometer Now

A wireless thermometer should, by definition, tell you the temperature wirelessly. This unit does not. It barely beeps when the main unit reaches a preset temp IF you're not out of range, which mine is when it's 10 feet away. This is not the one you want.

Read Best Reviews of AcuRite 00869 Wireless Grill Thermometer Here

I have had mine for over a year and it works great! I love it I use it with a traeger grill and use the magnet on the back to attach the digital readout on the side of the pellet hopper (that doesn't get so hot) then I can just look out my side window without even opening the door and see what the temperature is. It don't really use it for time because I barbeque to the temperature of the meat. If there is one that the remote shows the temperature I think that would be nice, but I am very happy with the accuracy of this one. My meat always turns out perfect.

Want AcuRite 00869 Wireless Grill Thermometer Discount?

The screen could not be read unless viewed at an angle and the remote does not monitor temperature. It would only sound off if the meat timer went off or the temp reached a certain level (that you set).

George Foreman GR35SBTMR Stainless Steel Grill With Timer

George Foreman GR35SBTMR Stainless Steel Grill With TimerWe purchased a stainless steel George Foreman Grill that has over 120 square inches of cooking space a few months ago. Not only does it match our existing stainless steel appliances, it does a fantastic job of cooking all sorts of things, including hamburgers, polish sausages, steaks, salmon and chicken to name a few. One of the great benefits to cooking on the George Foreman Grill is its inclined surface that allows rendered fat to drip away from the food that is cooking. Not only does this reduce unwanted calories in what you're cooking, it keeps many foods from being as greasy, especially hamburgers. (Just remember to put the drip pan beneath the opening; otherwise, you'll have quite the mess to clean up!) Another great benefit of using the George Foreman Grill is that it heats both the lower and upper cooking surfaces so that cooking times are greatly shortened. Hence, not only is food that is cooked on the grill less greasy, it cooks much faster than if you were using a frying pan or a barbecue grill. Since both the upper and lower cooking surfaces are coated with non-stick materials, cooked food doesn't stick and clean up is very easy. To give an idea as to the amount of available cooking space, four 1/3-pound hamburgers easily fit and cook simultaneously. (If the hamburgers are smaller, it can cook more than four.)

Overall, I rate the stainless steel George Foreman Grill with 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it. It's especially useful & timesaving if you're on a low-carb diet.

ThermoWorks Mini Infrared Thermometer

ThermoWorks Mini Infrared ThermometerIt was a gift and I spoke with my dad and he said it was easy to use and loved it. He makes BBQ Sauce (Big B's) and when he does shows where he has samples of meatballs in his sauce he needs the temp right. So he said works great!

This IR thermometer is small, works well, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it, particularly for those in need of something to monitor the heat when pan-frying food in a shallow amount of oil.

I was thinking the infrared thermometer would be faster..and easier for me..since I need to take temps every 30mint..during service time.

I really dont recommend at all..reason why is because is very inaccurate!and as soon I got the thermometer the battery lasted me

like 5 days...i use my regular Thermistors next to the infrared, and the temps are 20F or 30F less than my thermistors ...really sucks..

I felt not save using it.. I SPENT MONEY FOR NO REASON!!! REALLY BAD PURCHASE..INACCURATE TEMPERATURES!!!
