Black & Decker TRO420 Toast-R-Oven 4-Slice Countertop Oven/Broiler

I read lots and lots of reviews of toaster ovens before I bought. But it seems that very few people out there like the toaster oven they have. The ones with the highest ratings were only available online and in some cases the shipping was almost as much as the toaster!

I got this one at a local store on sale. It is a nice compact size for the counter, yet seems to have plenty of space inside. Toasts very even (several settings chose medium the first time and worked perfect). It has a timer so there is a bell when the toast is finished.

I also like the fact that when you use the oven, you also can set a timer. My previous one did not have this and many times I would forget to shut it off and it would run for hours (very dangerous).

I am very pleased with this toaster oven overall -it does the job it is supposed to and is a great value for the money.

I've been using this model for a year now and am quite satisfied. I love the convex glass making it much more functional. I've had many toaster ovens over the past 40 years and have come to expect a certain lifespan. I do see that with this oven the upper heating element has been redesigned and your less likely to hit it and cause it to be useless. SO FAR SO GOOD. The integrity of the unit is good. Still looks bright and fresh. I do notice when I'm toasting 4 slices of bread steam/smoke leaks from the lower right corner of the door. Doesn't seem to be a dangerous condition. Toasts pretty well takes a tad longer than regular toaster. I'm satisfied. Bought it at Kohl's on sale at very good price and am watching for the next sale to buy a spare. But that's just me. I recomment this toaster oven.

Like others who have reviewed this product, I have had Black & Decker Toaster Ovens for 20 years...two others in fact, this is the third. After having two reliable toasters that I liked, I didn't hesitate to buy this one. Wish I had read the reviews BEFORE purchasing!

It is impossible to make toast! Either it doesn't cook at all, or it is burned to a crisp. No matter how hard you try, you can not set that little dial well enough to be able to leave the kitchen! EVERYTHING burns! Also, in my last toaster ovens the oven turned off when you opened the door. Not so with this one...I don't like that either.

I also hate the little tray, when you open the door, if you open too far or too fast, the tray has to be re-aligned for it to slide back the oven, not so with my last ones.

There is a definite design flaw with the crumb tray. It can be put back in such a matter that it hits the bottom heating element. This was what happened to us. It could have started a fire, or destroyed the crumb tray at the very least.

Needless to say, I hate this product. I am afraid to buy a new Black & Decker Toaster Oven now, as the changes that they have made have NOT made the product better...just cheaper.

For some reason, we've always owned conventional toasters but have never owned a toaster oven before. So at 50+ years old and after using our son's toaster oven at his house, I read "all the reviews" and even though some reviews talked about it burning everything, I went out and bought this model. Here's the deal: there is a continuously variable temperature control and a continuously variable timer control. If you can't find a combination that works for you, you've probably got bigger problems in life than how dark your toast is. For the money, this oven works great on all items I've tried so far including from 1 to 4 slices of toast at a time, reheating pizza slices, and heating up chicken wings.

Many reviewers have said, and I agree, if you want to make perfect toast use

a "toaster" not a "toaster oven". I have a new Kitchen Aid toaster

that I use to make toast and it does a excellent job of making toast.

I have owned this toaster oven for five months now and it has operated flawlessly.

I can not tell you how PLEASED I am with this toaster oven. But

first let me tell you I DO NOT MAKE TOAST with it. I use it for baking and

I do not use the timer. I prefer to use a $3 wind up timer from Wal-Mrt.

Often, I use this toaster oven to bake pizza. I cut the full size pizza in half

and place half of the pizza on non-stick aluminum foil (by the way 1/2 of a full size

pizza will fit in this toaster oven).

Here are some of the things I REALLY LIKE about this toaster oven:

It's MINIMAL looking and simple to operate. It does not have a lot

of extra controls that I never use anyway.

Almost the ENTIRE DOOR is glass so it is easy to see inside and

surprise the door glass is clear (not tinted) so you can see your food without

having to use a flashlight !!!

It's ALL WHITE even the LEGS and the 3' foot CORD . I am a "color

monster" and really appreciate that cord and feet are NOT

black and actually color match the appliance's color.

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Barbecue Sauce Mop with Removable Head

As mops go this is one of the better ones that I have used. Often when I am smoking a brisket I need something that I can just slop on the juices with, and this mop is great. The fibers are quite absorbant so the hold a lot of juices. The handle is long enough that I can reach through the small smoker door and mop my meats on the bottom rack. I love the fact that the head is detachable, this makes cleaning up simple.

You can't go wrong with this mop.

This is my first Barbecue Mop, so I cannot compare it to other mops, but I have been very happy with this product. The handle is sturdy and long enough to reach the ribs in the back of my smoker. The mop portion unscrews for easy soaking and cleaning.

Does exactly what I was hoping it would do. Easy clean up as well. I did buy 2 extra mop head replacements as I didnt know how long the original would last as I use it pretty frequently on the weekends. After about a month the mop is still almost new so I dont anticipate needing to use one of the replacements anytime soon. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an item like this.

We have a Breville Indoor Grill, and this mop cleans the grills like a charm! It would be perfect for cleaning the George Forman grills, too. I actually took off the handle because it was long and I'm short and it would have been awkward. I just use the plastic connector to hold it. I also used the mop head to wash my Caphalon non-stick skillet since it was dirty at the same time. The mop is wonderful and I'm pleased to recommend it!

Before, I used to clean the grill with with soap and paper towels since you are not supposed to use a brush. The George Forman cleaning sponges did not appeal. I figured the sponges would not last very long, would be hard to clean and were expensive for what you got.

Even though our manual says you can put the grills in the dishwasher, I don't because I wanted to keep the surface nice for as long as I can. When I wash them, I take one to our sink. I turn the water on very hot. I rinse the grill under the running water to get off a lot of the surface mess. I wet the mop and squeeze some dish soap on it. Then I take the mop, holding it by the connector, and run it up and down the channels of the grill until it looks pretty clean. Then I rinse the grill with hot water to see if I got everything. If I didn't, I just go to the area that needs further cleaning, and clean it. Rinse again. Then I dry it with a paper towel and slip it back into my Breville.

When I'm done, I rinse the mop under hot, running water, add some soap and lightly scrub it and squeeze it. The mop comes clean easily and quickly. The first time I went to rinse the mop head, I hesitated and wondered if I really wanted to get my hands in the dirty, greasy mop. I went ahead and did it, and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I also got the two refills of the mop head. If I want to get the mop cleaner, I could find a way to hang it in the dishwasher so it would be free of the spray arms. I also wouldn't hesitate to throw it in the washer after I have rinsed it out well. If you want to be sure to get rid of the bacteria, then I'd put it in the washer after you have hand washed and rinsed it well. When I'm done, I just hang it up to dry.

Norpro Nonstick Jumbo Roast Rack

We have used this style of rack on our charcoal and gas grills for over 25 years. We've tried others but always go back to this one. Great for whole chickens, cornish hens, any beef & pork roasts. With smaller meats there is even room to place potatoes around on it. The handles are easy to grab even with oven mitts on. And it sets securely on a cutting board to carry it into the house.

Unfortunately, the non-stick coating started flaking away as soon as we used it. After about two uses, the coating was not in good shape at all. We never put it in the dishwasher, and only used a soft sponge on it, but the non-stick coating just didn't stay attached.

The size and shape of this rack are great, and other than the coating, it's pretty sturdy. I'd be willing to go with a similar model that doesn't have the coating ... but this one is going back.

Not recommended.

This is a very sturdy solid roasting rack large enough for a 12-14 pound turkey or two chickens. Two racks of pork ribs fit it perfectly. Handles are solid and it washes up nicely. I'd highly recommend this rack.

This is a sturdy rack with larger gauge metal then many similar racks. It's fairly heavy duty. But the non-stick coating started coming off with the first hand washing. I may just strip it and season this like a piece of cast iron.

I bought this rack just before Thanksgiving to use with the Baker's Secret Rectangular Roaster Pan I bought at the same time, and I am equally delighted by both!

I could have spent a lot more for a roasting rack, but this one fit in the pan perfectly and held a very large turkey perfectly, as well.

When I received the grill, it had a spot that was rusting; I could not send it back because I was expecting company that day and we needed to use it. I am worry because rust will continue to deteriorate the grill and it will not last very as long as it should.

I replaced 2 Cast Iron grates with this single Porcelain one.

The Cast Iron ones are good, but rust is a problem we'll see how this Porcelain one lasts.

Charcoal Companion Non-stick Kabob Grilling Rack, with Six 13-Inch Skewers

These were versatile and are nonstick. The major problem I found with them is that you cannot turn the skewers 45 degrees to evenly cook them. There are grooves in the rack and they automatically turn back to the original position. SO to correct the problem you have to turn the meat which then chicken will become too loose and fall off. I don't know if I would purchase them again. You can use them without the racks but that kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Just used this rack for the first time. It did a great job of evenly cooking the meat and veggies. Allows you to turn the skewers during cooking. Only issue is it's $9.00 on Totsy and other sites, so Amazon needs to match this price!
