Charcoal Companion Explorer Folding Handle Grilling Fork

Charcoal Companion Explorer Folding Handle Grilling ForkThe size of this thing is both a plus and minus. Due to it's size it allows you to manipulate food further away from the flame, but that also means it takes a bit to manipulate food because it is so huge.

I bought his along with the folding tongs and spatula that are sold by the same company because I wanted something compact to keep with my gear. We do a lot of camping out of the trunk of our cars and don't have a lot of space for storage at home so I thought they would do the trick for us. They only take up 1/2 the amount of space that the old ones did.

They are a very well made item made with good quality wood and metal. I like that the fold in half and lock in place relatively easily. This also holds true for closing them as well.

There are two reasons I didn't give them five stars. First of all, the hanging ring position is wrong since it is near the middle of the fork when it is open but is fine when they are closed. Second, the way that the fork is welded onto the neck makes holding it a bit awkward. They welded it on the same way that they welded the spatula on, but it should be welded on the other side since it would fit in a more natural way in your hand given the curve of the handles. I am just nit picking on these things.

I would definitely buy these again.
