Le Creuset 26CM Round Grill Cerise
One says it heats up quickly on medium or low heat. Um, no, it heats up pretty slowly, because it's a massive hunk of steel. Only 10 inches though, so you can't fit two T-bones on it, but it fits anywhere. The mass of this grill helps achieve outdoor BBQ style. It's a grill, not a griddle or frypan, so using it on medium heat is counterproductive. Throw it on a High flame for a few minutes before you try to cook. Yes, it will smoke. But you're trying to cook, not worry about air quality!
Another review says things stuck to it because it was not coated. Yes, it is. But things still stick to it because the cast iron surface under the coating was evidently pretty coarse. Oh, well. You don't scrub it with a sponge, you heat it up and plunge it under running water and the "deglazing" will lift off most of the gunk. Give it a scrub with a brush (no soap) and return it to the heat to dry. Total time about 45 seconds.
The third review said that fish stuck to it. This is possible. They used nonstick spray, which isn't all that ideal with nonstick or cast iron surfaces. But mostly I suspect the grill wasn't hot enough.
I, however, did ribeye steaks last night and they were perfect. Look on foodtv.com for Alton Brown's method and follow that. It's great. But remember: HOT!This is the first grill pan I have had that has not warped after the first use. The thin ridges leave a nice looking sear mark on the food and the valleys between are deep enough to allow the oils to run off so you are grilling and not frying. It is a fairly easy pan to clean and it looks great too boot. The one down side: it is a bit on the small side. A tad expensive but it is worth the cost.
Buy Le Creuset 26CM Round Grill Cerise Now
I purchased this item as a "bonus offer" to another Le Creuset item I purchased, even though I didn't think I'd get much use out of it since I already had the Le Creuset double burner grill. Turns out though, I use this little grill more often than my larger grill, or any of my other Le Creuset pieces. It's the perfect size for grilling up a couple of chicken breasts, salmon fillets, or steaks when I'm cooking for just my husband and myself. I can also grill up to four burgers on it. Just like my larger grill, I love the cooking results I get from using this little grill, but it's especially handy when I need access to my other burners on my stovetop. It's also much easier to clean than the double burner grill.If you are just starting your Le Creuset collection, this is a definite "must have" item to your kitchen. And especially at the price Amazon.com is offering it, you can't go wrong!

I bought this for quick grilling. For cast iron, the weight is fairly light and it is very managable in the kitchen. It was a bit sticky on the first use, but it has improved tremendously with use. I don't find it necessary to use the highest flame on my stove to get this hot. I am using closer to a medium flame, so I do wait a couple of minutes or so for the pan to come to temperature. I have no problem with getting the grill marks on the food. I used to own an electric Jenn Aire stove, and the grill on it was always wimpy. This little pan beats the old grill completely. I am very happy with this addition to my kitchen.Want Le Creuset 26CM Round Grill Cerise Discount?
This little grill is great for those who don't have access to an outdoor grill. My wife and I received one as a gift, and it cooks very well. We've tried eletric grills before but they did poor jobs with both cooking time and cooking evenly. This grill pan, on the other hand, cooks quicker (15 minutes for a 12 oz steak cooked medium) and evenly.I would recommend using something to cover the food while cooking to help with heating (to simulate the effect of a lid of an outdoor grill). We have used a piece of tin foil while cooking burgers and steaks and that works well.
Cleaning is not bad, so long as you don't procrastinate. Remove to the crud before it has a chance to completely cool and it comes right off. Just read the instructions and you'll have no problem.
It is much smaller than an outdoor grill, but if you're cooking for two, it's plenty big enough.

Polder Grill Surface Thermometer, Silver
Buy Polder Grill Surface Thermometer, Silver Now
This seemed to be a good product the first time I used it. It provided a nice guide to my grill surface temperature, although it was a little slow to respond to temperature changes when I moved it around the grill to areas of different heat don't expect it to adjust in seconds, because it won't. It did, however, tell me the general temperature of the different surfaces after it had sat there awhile.Unfortunately, this thermometer just cannot take the heat of a charcoal grill. Obviously I don't expect it to display temperatures out of its boundaries, but it should at least survive them. According to the thermometer, my grill surface is off the scale the scale goes to 750, and the needle moved past that all the way back almost to its starting position, which could mean anything above 800ºF. But that temperature seems to have cooked the thermometer! The casing now looks more like bronze than stainless steel, and all of the color on the dial has turned black. The surface of the dial has also darkened, and the glass bezel turned a bit cloudy and brown. And it's definitely not a matter of cleaning it; I gave it a very thorough scrub. It's probably still usable I'll try again tonight but it's going to be a lot harder to read the temperature.
Bottom line if your "high" grill temperature is weak (in the 600 to 750 range), this might be a four-star product. If your grill gets hotter than that, it becomes a two-star product after the first use.
Note that I'm not promising it won't cook at 600-750ºF, but it certainly cooks above that.

Used a couple of times. No way to check accuracy, but seem O.K.Externally, appears well constructed. Responds to temperature satisfactorily.
Wipes clean easily. Kind of neat. I like it!Works for me though I have only used it about 4 grills so far. I have a Weber Performer and prefer having another thermometer (Grill surface) to compare for cooking temps. Happy grilling!

George Foreman 4 Serving Classic Plate Grill
This George Forman grill is good for cooking for two or a small family. The grill flips open and you can place your food on it and close it so both the bottom and top are cooking at the same time. The grill comes with a spatula and cleaning tool. The grease from the grill drips into a small grease cup which is included.
COOKING:
The cooking surface is 60 square inches. This means that you can fit about two hamburgers, two chicken legs, two typical sized sandwiches/paninis or five big sausages (like bratwurst). The cooking surface has ridges and is tilted so the grease on the food can drip down into the grooves and off the grill into the grease drip cup. This helps get rid of more fat so the food comes out healthier.
This model is not temperature controlled like the premium model depending on what you are cooking you can end up burning some food before its cooked in the middle if you cook it with the lid down. Some things need to be cooked with the lid open. The top does not get as hot as the bottom does, so to cook thoroughly, often you have to flip the burgers over once.
SIZE:
The cooking surface is 60 square inches. Closed, it is about a foot long and wide (not quite square) and is about six inches tall. The whole cooking surface is raised up, which makes it great for scraping food directly off the grill onto a plate or into a taco shell. This size is pretty good for cooking for two or for a small family. If you are cooking large meals, either in advance or for say four adults, you will have to cook in batches. You might want to consider the 100 inch model George Foreman GR100V 100-Square-Inch Nonstick Grill with Variable Temperature Control if you do that frequently.
CLEANING:
The grill is designed to be easy clean, and for the most part you can just wipe it down with a sponge or wet paper town. If you do this while its still warm it will be easier. However, some marinades will adhere more to the surface and can be more of a pain to get off not impossible, but more work. The grill comes with a tool to help clean it.
PROS:
Easy to clean (99% of the time)
Raised up means its easy to scrape things off the grill onto a plate
Cooks fast
Removes a lot of grease while cooking, for healthier meals
Nice sleek look
Built well enough to last a few years of constant use before needing replacement
CONS:
Doesn't always cook evenly top to bottom, flipping is required sometimes
Marinades can adhere to the cooking surface and are harder to clean
Cord is short only 2 feet, so you need to be very close to an outlet
Isn't truly family sized, this is really sized better for two people
Overall, its a good buy, especially at this price. I would recommend it.This'll make a couple of hamburgers, a couple of chicken legs or two standard-sized sandwiches (which is English for panini) at the same time. With the adjustable lid set up, it'll make open-faced sandwiches. It's not so great at grilling steaks (the upper element doesn't get hot enough) but for a quick burger, it can't be beat. The non-stick surface is a treat (try to clean it before it cools all the way; it's a little easier that way).
Buy George Foreman 4 Serving Classic Plate Grill Now
I replaced an older Foreman model of the same size and reviews of this model helped me determine that this was the size I wanted. The old one I got rid of had the bun warmer on top, which was mainly inconvenient, not only because I never used it, but it was the first thing to break (every time I opened the grill the bun warmer lid would flip open). I love that this grill takes up little counter space but holds a decent amount of food and that there's no bun warmer. It heats quickly, maintains temperature well and holds two large burgers or five real sausages (not breakfast links it would probably do 10-12 of those at a time) or six hot dogs. I don't cook chicken on it, but it would probably cook 2-3 chicken breasts, depending on size. For clean-up, I wait for the grill to cool down and then wipe down the top and bottom grill plates with a couple of paper towels. Then it's perfectly clean and ready to heat up for the next use. I realized how much we love this thing when we lived without one for a month.Read Best Reviews of George Foreman 4 Serving Classic Plate Grill Here
I had debated for a long time whether to buy this cheaper George Foreman grill or to suck it up and buy the premium model. After having used it to grill chicken and bacon, I am convinced that the premium model is worth the extra money. ALthough the food cooked well, the top cooked faster than the bottom resulting in some burned chicken. Skip this one and go for a premium, temperature controlled model.I got lucky,I found one at walmart for $22,on clearance. I love it,the black model looks great. It big enough to cook four beef patties,at once. It comes with four raiser attachments for the legs,so you can push taco meat into a taco shell,strait from the grill.Tuesday, April 29, 2014
GE Profile Spacemaker Series : JVM1790SK 1.7 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven - Stainless Stee
--AS a microwave, it's a little slower cooking than others we have had, but heats evenly, has a turntable, and rack. We really love the dial control...kind of like an ipod, simple and efficient.
--As an 2nd oven it is perfect for us and we actually use it frequently as the primary oven because 1) It heats up faster and cooks faster 2) It is more energy efficient with a smaller space to heat adn 3) it vents outside so it doesn't heat up the house in the summer at all.
As for the price, it is expensive, but was a much cheaper way to get a second oven for us and we are very happy with it.After reading the mixed reviews for this oven, the only unfavorable ones complained that if the oven light needed to be replaced, the unit had to be taken down from the wall. Well we purchased one anyway because to save $175 or more, I would have no problem taking it down myself to change the light bulb; it's not that hard.
We installed it, and wouldn't you know it, ...it stopped working after one successful test. We phoned the GE appliance department, also easy to do on-line, and they were here the next morning.
The repairman opened the oven by removing the grill from across the top. Two half-inch screws hold it in place from the top edge. He was then able to open the front control panel so he could adjust a misaligned door switch. He did not have to take the oven down from the cabinet.
Here is the revelation: the halogen light-bulb, in question, is located behind the grill right beneath the opening where the charcoal filter would be mounted, if you used one. Anyone with a Philips screwdriver can take these two screws out and save himself or herself a $175 service call.
The repairman suggested that we leave the screws out to make it easier next time. The grill fits snuggly without the screws.
When our new kitchen is finished, we will give it a hard test, like cooking with the microwave and the convection oven combined. For now, we are giving it five stars because it appears that this is an excellent product and the repair service is terrific.
This review will be revised if any of this proves to be untrue later in time.
GE Profile Spacemaker Series : JVM1790SK 1.7 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven Stainless SteeThe features on the microwave are great. However, after 2.5 years the Magnetron (which actually warms the food became damaged). Spent about $250 on labor to repair it (part comes w/ 5 yr warranty). However, 2yrs later the magnetron blew out again. Spent $100 for tech guy to come out, and it would be another ~ $250, at which point it didn't make sense and figured I'd just buy a new one. Also, my cleaning person broke the turntable and it's $110 to replace!!! However, the features on this microwave are great, and now that I'm shopping for a new one, I'm hoping to find one w/ similar options, like the night lite, reminder beep when food is done, add 30 secs option during cook time. The popcorn preset button gives me perfect popcorn everytime! If you get a GE, do yourself a favor and get the extended warranty.We bought this w/ other GE Profile products (Dishwasher & Refrigerator) from PC Richards and I'm very glad we did.
We just did a full renovation and my contrator said this installed very easily and the venting was a breeze; straight up and then over 8 Ft.
It's constantly in use w/ two kids around. The dial knob makes it very easy to pick a cook time and temperature. Just turn and press. Convection bake works great for the hamburgers and meatloafs we usually have and it beats heating up the kitchen w/ the stove.
The micro-express button works in 30 second increments and if you need more time you just keep pressing it or spin the dial.
The popcorn preset button is a little short to pop them all but definitely not a deal breaker.
I would certainly recommend this product.Overall, the microwave works fine like any micro should, no real complaints there. However, we have had this micro for a little over a year. The inside light burned out as well as the task light that lights up the stovetop below. I searched for the replacement lightbulbs locally at home depot, and several other stores, no luck. I searched online, found the correct lightbulbs. Ordered 4 lights, 2 spare for when they burn out again. I went to install them. The bottom task light was a breeze, done in a few minutes. I opened the inside of the micro and could not find anywhere to access the light, nor could I see where it was even at?
Now reading the reviews here, that you need to remove the entire micro from the wall, have a technician install a lightbulb? to the tune of $200? That is insane! What an incredibly terrible design!! Geez, the inside light is not that big of a deal, I for sure am not going through the work of taking it down and paying a technician to install a freaking lightbulb. What was GE thinking when they came up with this LAME design?
I have to give this 1 star.

Cuisinart GC-17N Griddler Grill Centro 1700-Watt 2-Tier Grill/Griddle with Rotating Skewers
The package was delivered quicker than I had anticipated so no complaints from me. The box was intact and didn't look like it had been abused during shipping.
The Griddler was easy to assemble and as advertised most of the parts are dishwasher safe. After running the parts through the dishwasher, we used it for the first time this evening.
In the lower area, I placed 6 skewers of beef shish-ka-bobs and on the upper grill, grilled a steak. The shish-ka-bobs were cooked to perfection in about 20 minutes. The veggies were cooked but still had a little "crunch" while the meat was very tender and cooked to medium.
The grill imparts some attractive "grill" marks on the steak, and the steak was cooked evenly. Even though the steak had been rubbed down with some olive oil and other seasonings, there wasn't any smoke. The cooking task was completed in about 10 minutes for medium. Unfortunately meat grilled on an indoor electric grill doesn't taste the same as meat grilled on an outdoor gas grill. That's probably because the dripping meat juices can't be vaporized on an indoor grill like they are on an outdoor gas grill. Those vapors help flavor the meat further. I expected as much so I didn't take off any stars.
Give the Griddler ample time to cool down before attempting to clean. It is very easy to clean. As stated before most of the parts are dishwasher safe. The grill plate was particularly easy to rinse and wipe off before putting it into the dishwasher. Crusted cooking residue didn't stick and could be removed with your fingers under a litte running water.
Something everyone should be aware of is the Griddler puts out a lot of heat. It will get hot. Very hot. Families with kids need to understand that when the lower cooking area is being used, the upper cooking grill/griddle is just as hot. Keep young kids away and be careful that nothing gets placed on the upper cooking area (except food to be cooked) while the unit is in use. I used the Griddler on the stove where the kids know to stay away.
Overall this is an easy product to recommend. While I prefer the taste of meat grilled from a gas grill, the Griddler will work fine when outside temperatures and inclement weather dictate using the indoor grill. Finally this unit is not small and will take up some room if you're going to store it. But the Griddler is attractive enough to leave out and its functional enough that it should be used often.
UPDATE: We used the Griddler rather extensively over the weekend. Hotdogs were cooked on the lower level while the buns were toasted on the upper cooking area. The dogs were cooked perfect. Later we sauteed a large amount of onions and mushrooms on the griddle. Again the results were perfect, and we could lower the heat to keep the onions and shroons warm while other items were prepared. Cleanup was very easy and quick.This grill is great!! It is big enough to cook a whole meal on it, the skewers are so easy to use and it maintains the heat perfectly.
Clean up using all the parts takes just minutes, no scrubbing, and the booklet that comes with it explains the workings perfectly along with many menus.
I would recommend this to everyone who wants easy cooking with great flavors!

Leave it to Cuisinart to come up with a fantastic, very versatile multi function appliance. As usual, and as with all Cuisinart products. This unit is very well built, easy to use, and clean up's a breeze.The unit has a heavy duty calrod coil (heating element) that insures even heat distribution for both the upper griddle/grill, and lower cooking area. The griddle plate itself is a good size, and comprised of a very good thickness/weight. Therefore NO griddle cool spots. Considering all the options this unit has to offer, and the amount of food that can be prepared at one time. Due to its sleek contemporary design, it truly does not take up a lot of counter space. If you enjoy cooking & entertaining. This is a must have appliance for your kitchen.Just an fyi for those who have purchased this grill so they will keep an eye on it while using. I read all the good reviews on this product so I felt reasonably sure this would be a good safe product for me to use at our lake house for hotdogs for the grand kids. I used it the summer of 2011 approximately 10 times with no problems. Then this week, May 14, 2012 we went to the lake house for a few days. The second time we used the grill it caught on fire. The flames only went about 6 inches high so I was able to turn the unit off and the flames subsided. After cooling, I lifted the grill plate and saw that the heating element had split and separated into 2 pieces.I read reviews on this griddler and thought it would solve some issues I have in my kitchen... like not having enough room for all the small appliances I want to have. So far I have really been disappointed with this Cuisinart product! It's slow and seems underpowered even though it is 1700 watts. The best thing I've managed to make on it so far is pancakes and they can be made almost anywhere. I tried link sausages on the rollers and they barely got done in about 20 minutes. Yesterday I tried the skewers for some peppers, onions, and potatoes (already boiled the potatoes somewhat) and they took way too long. Meat on the skewers barely got past the raw state. I did not have it overcrowded because you can only put half the skewers on at a time because there isn't enough room. It looks nice and does clean up easily but in my opinion it is too slow and even though it popped a breaker on a heavy duty surge suppressor power supply I'd plugged it in to, seems way too underpowered. A skillet or two and my stove top can do a better job.

Nordic Ware Round Cooling Rack, 12 Inch Diameter
Was I surprised when these arrived. Large than my old pair...will hold the largest cake I'll ever bake..13" in diameter and teflon coated. I am delighted with the price and quality (what can you expect from Nordic?) of these mundane cake racks. Fast shipment also!I bought this rack expecting it to be 12 inches in diameter, as listed in the product description and on the label. It's actually 13 inches across, which is too big for what I need. (I got it for the bottom of my water canner set, to sit under the rack for jars.) Very annoyed, so back it goes.

Minus one star because the description is wrong, but since I read the reviews I knew to expect about 13" instead. It's a great product, easy to clean, at a great price. Expect about 13" and you'll be happy.I use this over a plate for resting meats after cooking. If you place meats directly on a plate after cooking, the juices will pool under the meat and melt any carmelized browning you may have achieved by searing. Using a rack allows you to keep your sear and still save all those yummy juices in the plate below so you can add to your pan sauce.

3" River Country Dual Display Range Adjustable BBQ, Smoker, Thermometer, (50 to 550 F & 10 to 285 C)
I'm speechless. This thing is amazing very solid construction, easy to read and really good quality.
small note: this is 3'' Thermometer it is not small. Make sure it fits your grill before you purchase it.Installed this thermometer on my UDS (Upright Drum Smoker). Easy to read and looks good as well. I would definately recommend this product to friends and family. I also plan on using this same model on future builds.Bought this item and installed on modified Char Broiler Silver Smoker. Installed easy and looks good. It does a great job at what I use it for; providing an approximate temp for the entire cooker. I am pleased with my purchase and would definitely buy again.

What a great purchase. It makes cooking stuffed jalepenos so much easier and mess free. My brother is going to love this when he gets it on Christmas day!This roaster is exactly as described and worked great. It is easy to clean and we have used it on the grill as well as in the oven. My only comment would be that the holes could be slightly larger as my garden fresh Jalamundo peppers were mostly too big for the roaster. We use this all the time.I own and use it frequently. A friend saw mine and commented on how they liked the idea and expressed an interest in purchasing one. Purchased this and the next weekend I was invited to their house for stuffed japs. Dualit 00499 Sandwich Cage
This is a pretty odd thing, all things considered, sort of like the British conception of a panini maker inside a toaster.
I sort of like it anyway, though. There are no instructions whatsoever, not even instructions about whether or not it can go in a dishwasher, for example.
So, it is an oddball item; kind of neat if you are into the sort thing that a Dualit toaster buyer would buy . .. . .I don't have a Dualit toaster, but I do have a single wide slot Cusinart toaster so I thought I'd take a chance on this item. It
It works really well and I don't have a problem with regular bread getting squished like the other reviewer mentioned.
Take care when removing your sandwich as its easy to forget that the metal is quite hot when taken from the toaster.
Buy Dualit 00499 Sandwich Cage Now
I love this thing! It gives me a healthier alternative to my beloved grilled cheese sandwiches. All you need is decent cheese and a teaspoon of butter. A good cheese slicer that can give you nice thin slices also helps. Unlike others, I find this fits my regular super market brand of bread fine -Orowheat. It also makes clean up a lot easier. It's convenient too -you can heat your soup while the sandwich is cooking away. I felt silly ordering it but am so glad I did. Plus, it's saving me money. When I'm thinking about takeout as an alternative to cooking, I do this instead as it is quicker, cheaper and mostly tastier.One of the perks of my very expensive toaster is this gadget. Yes, you can use sliced bread, just be sure to buy thinner pre-sliced bread. Pepperidge Farm light style works well and comes in many varieties incl. oatmeal and seven grain. Butter the outsides and add a slice of meat and cheese, or whatever, so long as its not too bulky. Small tortilla wraps can be folded in half with meat and or cheese for another tasty lunch item. Here's to tasty lunches!I purchased a Dualit toaster and decided to try these optional accessories. In three minutes I had made two toasted cheese sandwiches so easily that my teen-age sons wanted to try. Simply butter your slices of bread, put a few slices of cheese between the bread, and put your sandwich into the sandwich cages. The cages fit into the slots of the dualit toaster but you do have to watch for pieces of bread that might stick through the cage. We used regular Italian loaf bread without any problem. Set the toaster for just under 3 minutes, wait about 1 minute after toasting, and you are ready to enjoy your sandwich. Much easier than getting a frying pan out and making the sandwiches the old way. The sandwich cages come with recipes for other sandwich ideas.Saturday, July 13, 2013

Westinghouse SA40130 Searing Grill and Griddle, Stainless Steel
Are you frustrated with the lack of features in Foreman's grills?
After looking for a long time, I came across this unit:
* Timer with auto shut-down
* Temperature control
* Easy to clean, removable, interchangeable, reversible, plates with *internal* heating system
* 180° degrees openning
* Adjustable height (but not much)
* 2 dripping trays
* 1 sauce tray
* Safe cold-handle
* Excellent quality
So, is there anything wrong with it? Well, the only thing that it may bug you is that it's not tilted (so grease will not drip in the same way as in tilted ones).

I did plenty of research for this one and it paid off. It has a nice floating hinge for even cooking (You might like to use an oven pad to adjust the angle when the grill is hot). Chicken cooks juicier than our last George Foreman. Steak is nicely seared. Panini's are excellent. Removable plates that clean in dish washer are very convenient and easy to take out and put in. Another call to SAI Home Products today. I wanted them to be aware that someone still has not called me back. The person I spoke with could have cared less about my problem. He was very rude.
In addition, I thought it important that the Amazon vendor, Wholesale A.V. should be aware that getting warranty service for products they sell is nearly impossible. To my surprise I called their contact number listed on the website and twice I did not get any answer.
Pretty sad that the company that manufacturers the product and the Amazon Storefront that sells the product could not be contacted.
Thank You Amazon!!!
