GrillPro 00150 Cast Iron Smoker Box

I'm glad I ordered two of these for my Charbroil gas grill. The cast iron smoker box is measured 8"x5x1" -made in China of course. It works ! What I did I soaked wood chips, put them in the box and placed under the grilling rack -right ontop of the gas burners. The resulted smoked favored chicken tastes unbelivable! Can't wait to try with ribs and beef. Like I said the box is cast iron. Very solid so I'm expected to last longer than my grill, if not forever.

Great buy if you're a griller. Got some applewood chips for under 10 bucks, getting many uses of sweet smoking pleasure. Heat grill first, allow smoke to build.and enjoy the flavor of wood grilled with the convenience of propane. Good price, sells for more in stores.

I bought the smoker box from the local fireplace and BBQ shop for $10. It's nice and heavy cast iron should be durable. The instructions printed on its wrapper were clear and simple. I filled it with dry hickory chips, put it on the grill of my gas grill, put the grill on high and in 15 minutes there was a good amount of smoke. Then I turned the heat down and put some ribs in a rack over a water pan which sat on the half of the grill I had covered with heavy aluminum foil. Several hours and a couple of water refills later the ribs were done. They tasted great and we saw a well-defined pink smoke ring in the meat.

An added bonus was that when the cast iron cooled and the kid was removed, the wood chips had turned to charcoal and the inside of the box looked like a Louise Nevelson sculpture. Really kind of beautiful.

In the past I've used foil packets of wood chips. This box seems to work better, with more prolonged smoke. I read a suggestion to use two, one dry and the other with soaked chips, with the idea that the wet chips will take longer to start smoking, and between them and the dry chips there'll be a longer period of smoke.

Well worth the $10 it cost me and would have been worth $15.

The cast iron and heavy lid do a good job to reduce the airflow to the wood chips so you get more smoke than flame. I use this with my gas-fired smoker and it works well with the flame on low.

After a couple weekends of using it, I will probably get another so I can swap out for new wood chips quicker and easier and let the box of coals cool down until it is safer to move around.

For some reason, the big-box hardware stores recently stopped carrying replacement grills for my gas BBQ. I had a suspicion that I would still find replacement parts on Amazon. The grill rack I ordered is the upper level rack that swivels as the lid goes up and down. The replacement fit perfectly. No need to buy a new grill while parts for the old one remain available. Sounds like a big-box plot against old grills. I would suggest, though, that you carefully measure your old grill before ordering a replacement. There a many sizes available. Don't go by the picture.....go by the measurements that mirror the ones on your grill.

I ordered this, first i took a long time o arrive that i forgot I ordered it. Next, it did not fi my grill even though my grill is in the list. It was to wide and I could not force it. Waste of time and money. I cut about a half inch off with a saw and it fit but grill would not close right. I threw it out

I bought kenmore grill, cast aluminum, more than 10 years ago. Sears stores don't carry replacements, and even homedepot has stopped. Sears on line is just too confusing. It's 5 stars for still being available. The rack itself will rust quickly.

I replaced every part in the grill except the control valves. If anybody's wondering, Charbroil has the same size parts.

Although the description says "Two-Tier," this is the single bottom rack of a two rack set up. A single rack is what I had before. Works fine.

One would think that a dough scraper is not all that exciting. Well they're not really, I've lived without one all these years. I purchased this on a whim and I am SO glad that I did. When it arrived I was not expecting much, since it was rather inexpensive for a kitchen tool. But let me say when I opened the package and saw it I actually got "excited"! It is worth much more than I paid for it, in my opinion. The scraper is very nice to look at, sturdy, well-made, and very helpful for scraping sticky dough off the counter without scratching it. This is definitely my new favorite kitchen tool at the moment. I would highly recommend this Pizzacraft Dough Scraper.

I use the scraper mostly for bread preparation and cleanup. It works like a jewel dividing dough and scraping dough off the board afterward. Probably won't do pizza dough for a week or two, but look forward to using the scraper and the peel I bought at same time.

I have used many types of wind resistant and wind proof lighters. This falls under the category of wind resistant lighters as per the claims made by the vendor. But this is a scam!! Ha! ha! This is neither. It is a completely worthless lighter. It doesnt even light without 5 clicks. Once it lights, the flame dies away in 15 seconds progressively getting softer. I was stupid enough to buy 4 of them, and I tried all 4. No difference. If you are thinking of an outdoor grill or for camping, look elsewhere. This will not work.

This is a good lighter for a bit of wind. Has a strong flame to light things in the wind versus the lazy flame of most lighters. Good for lighting my water heater in the R.V. when its windy.

I have tried this product twice the first time it worked as planned and I wanted to buy it again.

The second time I bought it it arrived in an un-opened package just like the first time but it only lighted one time. After that time which appears to be from fumes it was totally empty.

In other words, I lit a fire with it on day one after receiving it on day two when I tried it I found it empty. It was stored inside like always in the same way as the first one. It arrived to me basically empty and Las Vegas World Famous Brand Center declined to offer any replacement or refund. So I would not take the chance on ordering it again from them.

I purchased this item with some gift cards. It is really junk and I am sorry I ever purchased it. After one use it reads only 300 degrees, no more! The needle is exposed and not inside a sealed glass, so there is life span problems from the git-go. The package it comes in makes it appear to have a glass cover. Save your money and buy a useful item for your grill.

The first Taylor grill thermometer we had broke after a few uses. I decided that might have been a fluke, and gave it another try. We've used the new one once, so I can't comment on its longevity. However, although the description clearly states that there's a magnet on the back of the thermometer (and the first one we had DID have a magnet), it won't stick to anything else we have magnets on around the house!

I leave my thermometers on the BBQ grill start to finish so the glass covered ones just don't work for me as the glass becomes clouded even after 1 use.

This one tells me when the grill is at 550 to sear, and when the indirect heat is at 350. Ultimately the numbers become smoke covered, but even after they are not legible I know the top center is 300 and the top right 400 and it still registers accurately.

I just purchased my 2nd, and it works just as reliably as the 1st.

Rutland Fireplace Glass Cleaner

As you may or may not (as I did not) know, you should not use Windex or any other conventional glass cleaner for shower and fireplace glass (which has a film on it that would be removed by Windex).

This stuff is hard to find in retail stores (learned about it from my fireplace person) but definitely worth the search: it does the job beautifully!)

I needed to clean a pellet stove window and read the review by the person who suggested using ash and water. I tried this and it works very well. I was able to clean the glass very well by using paper towels, a little water and a little ash. No need to buy this cleaner. The ash method actually works and works very well.

Dampen a paper towel with water, dip into the ash and rub on the glass, the blackness will come right off. Repeat until clear. I kid you not, I have tried so many cleaners and this works the best by far! How cheap it that!

This product doesn't work well on wood stove glass. Use Rutland Inc Glass Cleaner, works great. This stuff was a waste.

I have an old Farberware open hearth that was my mom's. I love it and have been having problems getting a cord that works for it.
