Sandwich Maker

Sandwich MakerWe use this to make burritos, it works great! :) Also would work well for grilled cheese and the like :)

Used it only twice so far, so treat it as initial feel. But though that's the case, don't want hold on to feedback. Simply great! It is efficient, and roasts the bread not too light, not too brown or black. That resulted into a great taste for sandwiches (not to take away my wife's credit for making tasty fillings :) ).

Now, we are planning to have frequent lunches and dinners on sandwiches, breakfasts are given!!

Makes great sandwiches, wife makes toasted peanut/jelly in it and said they are super. No butter or spray needed. Was worth every penny. The spot to stash the cord away is very nice, don't have to wrap it around the device and hope it stays.

I bought this for parents in law and they simply loved it. It's very easy to use and clean and also its a non stick based. Sometimes you just need a cheap but good product for your relatives. I bought this little over month ago and it does the job really well.

The issues I have with this unit are true of most of the similar products so not really a reflection on the product itself. That said, the closing clip is flimsy and will be lucky to last a week without breaking and an on-off switch would be nice. It does the job though.

Stainless Steel Straight Tube Pipe Grill Burner

Stainless Steel Straight Tube Pipe Grill BurnerIt serves it purpose, but after a year of trying to get these burners to cook correctly, I have given up.

It fit okay, but doesn't have an adjustable air mixture and takes a long tome to finally ignite. Once lit the flame seem to flow more towards the rear of the tube.

Part arrived promptly, well packaged and in great condition.

As expected the part was a direct replacement for the rusted out ones on my Kenmore grill. The new parts seem to be much heavier construction and I have no doubt they will last as long as the OEM ones, likely longer.

Pricing was much better than the OEM and the company was great at getting my order to me promptly.

Thanks Amazon!

Nice fit, exactly what I needed for my Perfect Flame model 7230-0522 from Lowes. Unfortunately not part of the recall. I bought two burners last year. Now I need three more and I think I should just buy a new grill. What a cheap hunk of metal this perfect flame grill is. Never again.

George Foreman PN2PC180 Panini Maker

George Foreman PN2PC180 Panini MakerOverall, this model is a step up from my last George Foreman Grill. This is actually the third George Foreman Grill that I have purchased.

First, ignore the initial smell that you get when you first use it. This will go away and is probably a result of packaging.

Grill Plates: These are an improvement over the coating on the last model I have. They are lighter and and coated better and easier to clean. I did NOT have to use cooking spray on them such as Pam. Try not using cooking spray and you'll see that the results are good.

Temperature: This model does not have a temp. gauge. That would be a worthy additional feature but not absolutely necessary. However, it does take 7 to 10 minutes to really warm up for cooking. And, although the temp dial it does have goes from low to high, I only use High (all the way) because that is the only way to get it to heat up enough to cook things.

Panini Functionality: I must say that after some initial skepticism I really do like its ability to produce a delectable panini product. I have tried this with different breads and content and it always produces a welcome result. The ability to hold down the plates with the handle also proves useful in cooking situations. For instance, if I note that a salmon fillet is JUST not at the level of doneness I like I hold the handle down for a few seconds and "voila", its perfectly done.

Clean Up: Again, these grill plates, due to their coating, are much easier to clean. In fact, I don't bother to put them in the dishwasher because a) in the past I believe that doing so diminishes the coating's effectiveness over time and b) you can easily clean them with a sponge after they cool.

One last thing is that this model's foot print is better because it is not as wide as my last model but it seems to retain the same footprint for grilling.

I would say that this is a buy when you compare its features, how it performs and for the price. Other similar models are more expensive. Enjoy!

I love the George Foreman Grill. Its the perfect size for making two or three meat cuts all at once. The one thing i was dissapointed in is that I thought it came with various plates and it just came with the one set of plates. Other than Im in love. The temperaturew control is a great feature. The removable plates make it a breeze to clean. The hidden grease holder is great cause you dont loose it. And the option to incline or not the grill also makes it more versatile.

This grill is perfect for me because the plates are removable so it is easy to clean, it has temperature control and it allows me to grill thick food (like bone-in chicken leg quarters). I like it so much and highly recommend it.

Cuisinart CSKR-105 Skewer Rack with 5 Skewers

Cuisinart CSKR-105 Skewer Rack with 5 SkewersThis item arrived in good condition. It does what it says. However, the cost is rather high. The quality is not commercial grade. It will hold up of used occasionally. Not the best for everyday use.

We are big grillers and I found this skewer rack streamlined the entire grilling process...from loading up the skewer contents to handling on the grill and delivering back to the kitchen. Furthermore, the fact that the food sits above the grill itself meant the meat and veggies were uniformly cooked and not charred in random places where the flames had blown up. Never going back.

The rack looked great out of the box and worked even better. After extensive use the rack is hard to clean but the skewers are working great. They dont bend and break like traditional wood skewers and the way they are elevated over the grill makes them easy to flip beacuse they are not sticking at all.

Broil King 934664 Monarch 40 40,000-BTU Liquid-Propane Gas Grill with Side Burner

Broil King 934664 Monarch 40 40,000-BTU Liquid-Propane Gas Grill with Side BurnerI did tons of research online to find the best gas grill. I wanted a good quality grill that will last, not rust out and not need constant upkeep and replacement parts. I'm only cooking for my wife and I so I did not need a huge oversized grill. I checked all of the local big box stores. The smaller grills at these stores had a nice price tag ($80-$150) but they were so flimsy and all of the online reviews said they either rusted out or broke after a year or two of use. I was willing to step it up a notch and pay more, but in the big box stores all you get for a bigger price tag is a bigger grill that will still rust out and break down after a couple of years. I wanted something that would last. The next option up in the big box stores was to purchase a Weber. Weber has a great reputation for quality, but they are so expensive and big. I found that the Broil King brand was the perfect solution to my problem. They build high quality grills (via Onward Manufacturing Co. which has some affiliateion with Weber, but I'mnot sure what.) Broil King has several differnt models with a lot of configurations and options. They are one of the few companies that use cast aluminum for the oven (it will not rust and comes with a lifetime warranty). Their burner design is praised in online reviews and comes with a 5 year warranty. They use heavy duty cast iron cooking grids that weigh over seven pounds each. Their heat diffuser (Flav-R-Wave) is made of heavy duty stainless steel (other companies use cheap steel..just a step up from aluminum foil). I finally narrowed my search down to a Monarch or Crown model. Amazon's price ($319), no tax and free shipping sold me on the Monarch 40.

One thing to note, is that the stand looks like stainless steel, but it isn't. It is steel painted to look like stainless. Also, I agree with another poster that the stand could use some extra stffness. The fact that the casters are plastic bother me, but they work and they are used on all of the Broil King's grills. So I think the only con on the Monarch line is the cart/stand. It will last, but I think the actual grill will outlast the cart. Of course, this is the bottom of the Broil King line. In the end, I think I finally found what I was looking for. I just wish Broil King was sold in more local stores. If they were, the would tear up the competition!

One final thought. The "Mr. Bar-B-Q Platinum Prestige Medium Grill Cover" is the perfect fit and best quality cover I have found. It was only $19.99 when I bought it...and free shipping!

After dealing with corroding cooking grates, extremely uneven heat, and a bottom that had nearly rotted through my old grill, I decided it was time to replace my 6yr old Coleman grill. On one shoulder was a little voice "buy a Weber", while on the other was the cost-conscious "get another box-store special".

I wanted Weber quality at a reasonable price. I think the Broil King line is a great compromise. There are some obvious cost saving measures in the construction but they appear to be away from the major cooking components. The oven box (cast aluminum), cooking grates (cast-iron, NOT porcelin coated), and burners (stainless steel) are all high quality.

The pedistal on which the grill sits is where the construction seems a bit shoddy but this is a relatively light grill (being cast aluminum) and doesn't need a TON of support on which to rest. The pedistal is painted sheet metal which you bolt to the plastic base. It seems very light and flimsy when handling the components but when put together is actually very sturdy. Similarly, the side shelves are molded plastic, but one nice part is that they fold down for a lower profile when storing, and seem good and sturdy when in the upright position.

As for the performance of the grill, I've only cooked on it once but it is terrific. The heat is VERY even, and with the lid down it heats to 600 degrees in a matter of about 10-15 minutes. My first meal on the grill was a pork tenderloin which was juicy, delicious, and evenly cooked throughout. Even the grilled asparagus was a breeze with the even heat provided by the burners/cast iron grates. The grill slowly came down to a nice med/low heat. Precise temperature control appears to be one of the strong suits of the burners in this unit.

And in a boneheaded move, upon preheating the grill for my first meal, I mistakenly lit both burners, AND the side burner while the cover was still down. Coming back out to the grill 10 minutes later I realized my mistake, but it was too late the paint on the side-burner cover was burning/melting, as was the plastic handle. I later called the Broil King customer service line and then quoted me about $5 for the parts, and $10 for shipping fair enough I thought. Then the rep tells me that they're going to send it out to me free of charge! Awesome customer service!

As another reviewer mentioned, they have an affiliation with Weber, as I believe all Weber grills in Canada are sold through Onward manufacturing (the maker of Broil King). It makes perfect sense, b/c their service is top notch. Try getting that kind of response from one of the box store brands....

I'm looking forward to many years of happy outdoor cooking with this grill, and am confident that if/when I need to relpace something it will be easily handled by Broil King's customer service. I am also confident that if I take reasonable care of the grill it's lifespan will challenge the Weber that I was looking at that cost nearly double.

Bottom line: Nice grill, great price (esp. with Amazon prime free shipping), great company to deal with. As long as you're not hung up on the name brand sitting on your deck, get one and don't look back you're wallet will thank you.

I chose the Broil King over a Weber Spirit 210 after much study and indecision. Walmart discounted the Webers by (...) but they did not have cast iron grates. Home Depot has the Weber with the cast iron grates but at full retail (Walmart now has dropped price on Weber by (...) for floor models. The reviews of the Broil King were all very good and I liked the style and the cast iron grates which make for a great sear. I purchased my Monarch 40 from Amazon and received it in 2 days with free shipping. The box arrived with a hole in the side which looked like a forklift had missed a pallet and hit the box. I opened the box fearing the worse. There was no apparent forklift damage but three key pieces were bent. Both sides of the stand were bend along the fringe where the holes are placed for assembly. The front edge of the grill oven itself, the most visible area below the knobs, was bent in two places. I began assembly and realized that the second plastic caster (small wheel) was missing. I will be calling customer service tomorrow and will follow up with a report on service. The grill was very easy to assemble although the directions are not very detailed. Much of the assembly is obvious and there are no steps that take you too far so you have to disassemble if you make a mistake. I had to use a red brick to balance for the missing castor but the grill fired right up and was at nearly 700 degrees in about 15 minutes. I seared and cooked boneless chicken breast, onions wrapped in foil and attempted to cook tofu kabobs but they stuck onto the grate and the warming rack (my mistake not the grill). The chicken and onions turned our great and when I turned down the temperature it leveled off to around 250 300 degrees and the chicken was moist inside but with a nice sear. At over (...), it was extremely distressing to find bent parts. Only the bent edge of the oven is visible once assembled. Missing a castor was irritating as well. It seems like the actual cooking parts of the grill are solid and well made and I was pleased with the first cooking experience. I had what I think was a small Broil King in the 1990s that lasted several years and the stand gave out before the actual oven. I am hoping I will get that type of performance from this one and that I do not regret passing up the Weber. I have tried Uniflame and Charbroil grills and never got more than a year to 18 months out of them before parts rusted, broke off of stopped working. I would recommend this grill based upon my initial impressions notwithstanding the bent parts and missing castor. There are a lot of bad grills out there and few worth parting with (...) or more. From my research, Broil King and Weber appear to be a safe investment.

I read many of the reviews before deciding to buy this model of grill. While it is better than many grills on the market in this price range, Broil King's quality seems to have gone down over the years. The box arrived with only minor outside damage, nothing that would cause internal harm. The grill was not difficult to put together even though some of the graphics were not the best. Several of the sheet metal pieces had to be tweaked back in to place due to minor bends. The screws and nut assemblies seem to indicate poorer quality hardware as them seem to give as they were being tightened. The description says the cast iron grates are porcelain covered and they are not.

The next day I went and bought a new tank to try it out, only to find out the ignitor doesn't work. Tried a new battery and still nothing. Not a problem it has a hole to light the burner with a butane lighter. The grill reaches temperature quickly and easily achieves 600 F. The outside ends get a lot hotter than the center especially when using one burner. I tried wiping the cast iron grates with oil and seasoning them but so far it has not resulted in any lasting effect. It would have been nice if they were porcelain coated as the description states. On a positive note flare ups have not been a problem and the cast aluminum housing will last a lifetime. I still enjoy cooking on it and it will beat many of the grills in this price category in a side by side comparison.

This grill got high marks on a grill-review site. Had a good price here and so chose it based on positive reviews. Love it. Have grilled steaks, salmon, burgers, chicken, etc. Starts easily and cooks great. Very hot, and warms up quickly. Most grills have gone to a molded sheet metal cook box, but this one is cast aluminum...so it is sturdier and maintains better temperature. Cooking grid is cast iron which is better for grilling...plus gives nice sear marks. Flameup preventer works great and is far superior to other grills I've owned. Can cook really hot, with very few flameups. It's cheaper than other grills, but the economy pieces are the base and sides...not the cook box (which is the most important part). I am VERY pleased with this purchase.

He had seen it used on Food Channel shows, and thought it would really improve his cooking. He's tried it several times since Christmas, and is extremely pleased with the pan. He likes the "grill marks" on the meat, the even distribution of heat across the pan, and the easy clean-up.

I wish it were bigger! Otherwise this pan will last you a lifetime and grills perfectly and evenly and the price reflects it. I highly recommend it.

Kingsford Texas Sop-Mop with Removable Head

Kingsford Texas Sop-Mop with Removable HeadI actually use this to mop the floor behind my toilet. The area is hard to get to and very small, the sop mot fits easily, cleans well, and then I throw it in the washer! Nothing could be easier!

This bbq mop is basically worthless. The mop head just falls off while you are using it. Yeah, it's removable, but it should at least stay on while you are trying to use it for the intended purpose.

There isnt really much you can say about a sop-mop, but this was worth every penny. The handle is long, which is great because my grill is huge, and reaching in back to brush things with a paintbrush-style brush can lead to some singed hair. Anyway, the mop comes off for easy cleaning too.

Fagor 12 Quart Halogen Tabletop Oven

Fagor 12 Quart Halogen Tabletop OvenI am rating this 3 stars because it cooks very well, crisps the outside of foods and cooks fast. BUT, it doesn't get 5 stars because the attachment of the top handle just isn't robust enough and it is likely to break. The lid is heavy. With my first one of these, the handle attachment to the lid broke on the second day. When I got it fixed, the other side of the handle attachment broke a few days later. I consider it to be a design flaw. The handle itself is a bit weak and it attaches to the lid with 2 little plastic 'knobs' that insert into the lid. But they really are not designed strong enough our thick enough and they break off. If they would design the handle to be stronger, they would have a much better product. If yours breaks, they can send you a replacement, if you keep your information and order number AND YOU MAY ALSO NEED THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING AND SHIPPING BOX, SO SAVE THEM. If it is out of warranty, I don't think the handle would be too hard to fix by drilling a 1/8th inch hole through the handle from both sides and inserting a 6 inch long, 1/8th inch diameter metal 'dowel' or 'pin' or long screw to extend all the way through the top, and from one side of the handle to the other. The top of the lid has enough room for a 'dowel' like this, and this would replace the weak 'knobs' that are on the handle now. The handle is essential as part of the 'switch' that turns the oven on and off. If it breaks, you could tape it in place to keep it fixed in the 'on' position, so that the oven works, but who wants their nice cooker to sit on the counter with the handle taped on? In addition, the trouble is, the lid heats up and you really need the handle to lift the lid and take it off, easily. Maybe your handle will hold up better, but be gentle with it. Other than that, I can't say enough about how amazingly this thing cooks.

Addendum: I got another lid, but the first time I used it, the handle fell off. Luckily, it didn't break this 3rd time, so I was able to put it back on. The trouble is, the lid is heavy glass and it contains the fan motor and heating elements. When the oven runs, the lid is hot, so when you take it off, you can't just set it directly on a counter top, since it may cause damage. After looking at the whole assembly for a while, I decided there are several things you can do. First, don't use the `lid holder' that comes with the set. To set the lid on the holder requires you to turn the lid sideways and that puts more pressure on just one arm of the handle. If you must use the holder, then lift the lid with two hands one hand on the handle, and one hand on the black plastic part of the lid, which isn't hot. This extra support will help protect the handle much more than just lifting by the handle itself. But a better choice is to either have 2 hot pads ready, on the counter top, to set the lid on, OR, just use the metal extender ring that comes with the oven and set the lid directly on top of it, on the counter. If you do it this way, you can just lift the lid straight up and down, with one hand, and by not turning it sideways, you avoid the extra stress on the handle. I still think it is a great oven and I am happy with it. I can recommend it, as long as you understand the difficulties that you can have with the lid. I just wish the handle were designed stronger.

I saw the Fagor 12 Quart Halogen Tabletop oven on QVC. I saw it on Amazon for a great price, and no shipping! I was wondering if this was another gimmick. I use it to make dinners every evening for my husband and I. The meat is never dry and it tastes delicious. I love cooking again because of the shorter cooking time and the cleanup is a breeze. We are eating healthier now, and the food tastes amazing. Fagor is a pretty good brand, and I wanted to simplify my life....It can't get any simpler than this. :-)

I'm trying all kinds of foods and with great success!

Buy Fagor 12 Quart Halogen Tabletop Oven Now

I purchased the Secura Halogen Oven along with the Fagor Halogen Oven. My first purchase was the Secura model, but after doing a little research and comparing specs I noticed that Fagor model was essentially the same oven without certain connivence features (such as a removable electrical cord). The Fagor was nearly 25% cheaper so I opted for it and was going to return the Secura box un-opened. Due to mishaps by Fedex, which have turned out to be a blessing in disguise, I ended up with both ovens at the same time. I first opened and tried the Fagor model, because this was the oven I planned to keep. After cleaning the oven as instructed by the manufacturer, I noticed the convection and heating process of the Fagor: theres a halogen bulb that produces heat and a fan motor that creates convection by circulating air. When you clean the oven as instructed a small amount of smoke or steam is created inside the oven and you can see the airflow of heated air. So far so good, but when I actually tried to use the Fagor for the first time for cooking, the halogen bulb blew out and sparked a little. Obviously this is not suppose to happen and to me indicates low quality control on the part of Fagor. Perhaps I just received a lemon; either way I was very disappointed.

I was then forced to use the Secura model (I had food that needed to be cooked). I followed the same cleaning process, and to my surprise the Secura's convection seemed stronger than the Fagor's. The steam inside the Secura oven seemed to move faster and more forcefully. I then used the Secura for cooking and it worked flawlessly. So far the Secura has been trouble free. Also, the Secura has a feeling of quality and attention to detail that the Fagor lacks (however it is more expensive). The plastic base of the Secura seems sturdier. The Secura also comes with a more detailed recipe book and the fore mentioned detachable electrical chord. All other accessories are the same.

Often times products by competing brands are produced by the same manufacturer and/or in the same production plant. However, this does not always mean equivalent overall quality of the finished product. In my instance, it is been made very clear that Secura's oven is better than the Fagor and worth the additional cost.

Want Fagor 12 Quart Halogen Tabletop Oven Discount?

My George Foreman grill had just broken after many years, and then I saw this Halogen oven in an outlet store. A George Foreman grill is perfect, but it's really only for grilling. I don't like to use the oven in my apartment since the last tenant obviously tried to clean it hastily and it smells like oven cleaner. Desiring to avoid toxic fumes, I was delighted to find this alternative. Also, since halogen bulbs give the best light, I was amazed to see that our friend halogen could also fuel the oven of the future. Not only that, this oven looks like a robot and has knobs and lights on it, and I thought, wow! it's like the Jetsons! If it can pitch hit for George Foreman (the grill, not the fighter), we're in!

Boy, can it! The general rule is that you can subtract a quarter of the cooking time for an oven recipe. But it doesn't just bake. It broils, steams, grills, roasts and fries. How does it do that? By two processes. The first uses a circular halogen element that lights when the oven is working. The second works like a convection oven, with a fan to blow the heat around. A few astute and unlucky reviewers have noted the design flaw--the flimsy handle. We'll discuss the work around in a moment.

An accomplished chef likely would not need it, but if you're a guy like me who otherwise would be waving a Stouffer's dinner (and yes, I did try a TV dinner in this oven, and yes, it did work), you want to keep the box. The pictures on the box give a much better idea of how to set up the oven than the included booklet. I was very surprised that you got so much in the box with this oven. There's a low rack, a high rack, an extender ring which increases the capacity of the glass bowl to 17 qt. capacity--enough to cook a 16 lb. turkey! Also, there's a fry pan. The booklet has both an English and a Spanish section. The English section is 37 pages, and includes basic directions, a two page chart of cooking times (almost identical to the chart in the George Foreman grill booklet, so that was a no brainer), and 20 pages of recipes, helpful in adapting your own to the oven. I put the oven on a glass counter protector, as with my toaster, but the glass bowl also sits in a removable plastic cradle. The box says you can use both racks to cook two different food items at once.

So how does it work? It's the epitome of simple. The handle on top is an electrical interlock. Push the handle down, turn the right knob to the temperature, and set the left timer for up to 60 minutes, The halogen element comes on, and goes off when the time's up. Any time you pull up the handle, power goes off. The handle has warnings on it that it gets hot, and there is a metal wire rack included to put the handle in to let it cool down. It doesn't get all that hot. You just need pot holders or an oven glove. The glass lid has a metal rim around it, and fits firmly into the rack once you hold it in position. But, as one reviewer noted, the top element is in the lid, so hold the lid when you put it in the rack. Or, as another reviewer suggested, who had bad luck with the handle breaking, set the lid on the metal extender ring. That's the easy fix. There's an odd tongs thing included to turn the food items during cooking, but two normal cooking tongs would work better.

Believe it or not, there's a wash setting on the control knob you can use to clean the bowl, as it blows the soapy water around with the convection fan. The halogen oven is not like a microwave. It's fine to put metal in it, like the included fry pan, or use aluminum foil for easy clean up and even cooking. Be careful with the handle, and this oven is win, win, win. More good news about halogen, the light of the future. GE is now making halogen screw-in light bulbs to replace incandescent bulbs. They are far better in every way than flourescents or CFL bulbs. They are also far more efficient than incandescent bulbs, and meet the new energy standards. GE rates halogen as "crisp, bright light". Lowes calls it "the best light". Halogen bulbs are great for reading, and excellent in floor fixtures. Try one and see. GE 78798-12 Halogen General Purpose A19 Bulb, 72-Watt, 2-Pack So that makes four wins for halogen, the light of the future.

Square 16-Pc Set, Service for 4 (Simple Lines)

Square 16-Pc Set, Service for 4These plates are very durable. I had a set of plates that lasted all of one month before I got these. These plates are remarkable! The design is very contemporary, and overall very good looking. I wanted plates with some design to them which means no plain, white plates. But I didn't want floral designs, and a full color plate can sometimes be too bold. This design is perfect for me, and the quality of the plates are even better.

This is my second set of plates. I have dropped them, accidently hit them against the faucet, and they are still in one piece. I love them. The only part of this set I have to be careful about breaking is the cups, they are porcilin. Like my mother and grandmother's sets (which they have had for 20+ years), these are microwave and dishwasher safe.

This is bizzare. Amazon list this as "high quality" simple lines and is asking 50% more than the regular simple lines. I called Corelle and they told me there is no such thing as a "high quality" simple line. My advice. if your interested in this dishware buy the regular and save $25/set
