Norpro Cast Iron Pig Bacon Grill Press

Just had a chance to try out the bacon press tonight for BLT's--it works great!

We love our bacon nice and crisp, and this little press does the job great and seems to speed up cooking time (perhaps because the cast iron "holds in the heat" while the bacon fries?).

Bacon was crisp and delicious; the press prevents bacon curling and relieves you of the neverending task of flipping bacon over and over and over again when cooked conventionally.

This press is a great addition to my kitchen; only gave it 4 stars, simply because it isn't quite as heavy as I would like, although it still performs well.

Just make sure you season it before first use (directions in the box---just oil the press, oil a frying pan, then heat both together on VERY low heat for 20 minutes.

Allow to cool and wipe excess oil off press). But don't use it with nonstick pans!

This litle pig has it all. Right size. Well constructed. Fun to own and does the job right.

I have a pig collection but this is great anyway. I use it for every piece of meat I fry. I do not use oil so want the meat to sear and this fits the bill.

I bought this bacon press from Williams Sonoma and be warned--the screw holding the wooden handle on rusted out. The handle will not stay attached to the screw which makes the press pretty much useless. We followed the exact cleaning instructions to keep it from rusting, but it happened anyway. While this is a great looking product and worked well for a little while, it is now trash.

This item really helps create crispy bacon that's super flat, which I love. I'm not sure for certain, but I could swear it's also cut down the cooking time, which is also a plus. The only downside is that it's a little difficult to store after usage. Since it's cast iron, it can't be, or shouldn't, be cleaned, but only wiped down. This leaves the item greasy, which is fine if you have a place to keep it that doesn't get other things greasy at the same time. I've taken to putting in a Tupperware, which I don't really like, but it works. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product! Oh, and it's a totally cute pig!

Swissmar Raclette Dish Holders, Set of 4

I am regularly complaining about the cheap construction of new purchases but NOT on these raclette holders. They are built with excellent quality and a nice durable grade of metal. The raclette dishes fit perfectly with these very stable bases. Exceeded all of my expectations.

We have been hosting a big annual Raclette dinner at our house for years and it is always a lot of fun. However, toward the end of the feast there is always the question of what to do with the hot Raclette pans. Some guests put it on their plates, some on top of the grill, and some are absent-minded and actually place it next to their plates onto the tablecloth which I admit it does not make me happy.

When I saw these dish holders, I had to have them. These are well made, sturdy and fit our Swissmar Raclette pans perfectly. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because I don't like the 4 visible screws at the bottom of the holder. They make the holders look too utilitarian and since I usually decorate my table nicely when I host a dinner, this is a bit of a letdown in the design department. But they do the job and that is the most important thing anyway. If you like Raclette, you will find these holders to be indispensable. 4.5 stars if that were possible.

We love to use the Raclette, but the problem is where to put the utinsils when not in use the plate or the table? If you set them on the table you risk getting the tablecloth or placemat dirty. If you set them on your plate you can run out of room on the plate. This is the perfect answer.

This was easy to assemble, it's quiet, and moves a good amount of air on the high setting. I'm very pleased with it.

I live in New York City, and I bought one for summer time. The first pedestal fan that I received had a strange sound, a clicking sound when it was turning to the right, so I returned it and Amazon was great sending a new one that it didn't have any problem and I am satisfied with the product. Shef 10 1/2 Quart Premium 1200w Halogen Convection Countertop Oven Cooker complete with Accessories

I originally bought this product 2 months ago for the ability to cook meat without defrosting. I'm a nurse and work nights and in the morning I always forget to take out something for dinner. Well this rose well above my expectation I can take a steak out of the freezer and cook it in half the time of a regular oven and it comes out perfectly cooked and juicy. I cooked a 16 1/2 pound turkey in 2 1/2 hours and it was browned and cooked perfectly. The Oven is simple to use and even came with the extender ring, upper and lower grills, tongs, cooking pan,steamer pan and a cute oven mitt for what the other ovens were going for with no additions. The Cooking Bowl comes out easy and washes either in the sink, dishwasher or turn the dial to the wash setting and let the halogen do the work for you,just wipe out the bowl when it's done. The only thing that would have made this purchase a 5 star was if the direction/recipe pamphlet gave more recipes and cook times. I would recommend buying a separate cookbook to learn all the different ways you can cook with this oven. All and all a great product I will happily recommend to all! Enjoy!

I read a lot of reviews on Halogen ovens and the usual applies to this one. In small area's trying to set the lid somewhere and have enough room to prep food can be somewhat a challenge. That aside this thing is great. I noticed some stated that the timer didn't work properly from the start. I've used mine twice so far and its been spot on. At the moment have a pork roast cooking in it. I've made chicken so far and its awesome!

Packaging was great and shipped very quickly!

I'd definitely recommend this to anyone as so far it seems great. If I remember I'll post a followup maybe in a month or so.

Mine came with the name Shef on it.I guess it's the same.It came with all the accessories,more than the Sunpenton I purchased 2 years ago.It even came with a Christmasy oven mitt.Has extender ring,tongs,drip bowls and racks.Even though the settings are in celsius,it's not hard to understand.400 degrees fahrenheit=205 degrees celsius.Easy approximate way is to divide the fahrenheit temp 400 in half and that's the celsius temp(200).It was cheaper than most,looks like it's made in Germany so I take that as a plus.I'm sure it will cook perfectly.It came with english instructions and a small recipe pamphlet.What do you want for $40?But seriosly,you have to be an idiot if you can't put it together and figure out the temperature settings.It's in celsius not Japanese!

This is my third Convection oven. I have had 2 Flavorwaves. The first lasted about five years and worked really well. The second, which was the more expensive "premium" model, lasted about nine months; it then decided to only work at 500F. I've had this Shef for about a month now, and so far, so good. I especially like the ability to select individual temperatures. The celsius readings don't bother me, I simply made a little conversion chart. I am still trying to figure out how the timer works ... it seems to go a little longer than the setting so I now use a second timer to make sure things don't get overcooked. However, with all the accessories and the extender ring all included, this is a really good buy. Hopefully it will last awhile.

High Quality construction, Good strong design, All accessories are of good quality, Just got it last week, live alone bachelor, so cooking is a very necessary option for me in today's financial world. I have a convection oven, but not a competition point here, This unit fills any gaps left by convection oven, which aren't many anyway. I have only made real frys with it and did a 3 pound roast. so I probably shouldn't be boasting yet, frys came out perfect, but I did brush them with oil first and turned them over half way thru. Roast, well I turned that too, It was perfect and tender, I got some advice there too. Everything but the head goes in the dishwasher. My sister has a much higher priced brand, like $130.00 and we both feel this unit is as good as hers, and this has a much sturdier bowl and lid. As far as the european temperature settings, you can download a conversion chart all over the web. I don't have any cons as of yet...the instructions and included cookbooks are VERY vague though! For the money spent I don't think you can beat it!

Starfrit Panilio 2-in-1 Aluminum 11-Inch Grill Pan

I bought this pan for two reasons, for grilling chicken and fish and the shape. It works great for grilling on the stove and the pan looks great hanging from a pot rack. It is heavy and solid, should last for quite a while. A pleasent surprise considering the price.

I've had my Panilio for over 5yrs now and am still in love. It has a good weight, yet is not as heavy as a small iron cast skillet I've got. I use it several times a week and to clean it I've scrubbed with a 'scrubbie'; washed with a dishcloth; run it through the dishwasher (my most used method 'cause I'm your basic lazy....). There is not a chip on the pan, inside or out. It has not warped. It still maintains its no stick quality (although I do admit I use a paper towel to rub some oil on the inside before each use). When I bought this pan I purchased a set of Cuisinart pots/pans at the same time. I treated them the same. They look like absolute crap and I got rid of them all last week. Yet my Panilio is still here and near and dear to my heart. An absolutely wonderful product at a good price. You gotta get one. (Have I mentioned that I like this pan??? lol)

Handle was attached via one cheap chintzy screw, of which the threads were stripped so the handle was loose, unfixable, so I returned it.

#7539 are 24.5 inches long. description says 26" which the box dimensions.

This is the Weber part, and fits the Genesis E310/320 grill perfectly. These reduce flare ups while giving drippings a hot surface on which to vaporize, which is one of the primary ways that grilling creates a different flavor than other methods. I'd therefore suggest using these on all grills that come with them from the factory.

I purchased these to replace a 5 year old set, probably a little before they were actually due, but I had already decided to replace a few other parts and just kept going. With proper care, or in my case improper I never even attempted to clean these once, and I don't cover my grill you should easily get 5-7 years out of them.

I am rating 4 stars and withholding the last star for two reasons. First, the price is a little high for 5 pieces of bent steel with porcelain enamel. Second, the packaging has them stacked, and in my case, when I separated them as gently as I could, I still chipped some enamel, which is the starting point for rust.
