We are fan sleepers. Not casual fan sleepers. Not "I only 'fan' when I'm drinking" fan sleepers. We're "bring your fan when you go to visit your old roommate even though you made sure to leave a fan behind for when you visit" fan sleepers. At our height we each had a fan on our nightstands and a box fan on our dresser. It's like Hoarders if the hoarders limited their hoarding to just fans. Anyway, we bought this because our box fan was getting weak. Both physically and emotionally. Snort.
This fan. is. amazing. It's like sleeping in a wind tunnel! So much so that I had to ask the wifey to either pivot it more directly facing him or turn it down a notch. When he assembled it we giddily pointed it at all the various pendant lights to watch them sway in the airflow and then we took turns (read: pushed each other bodily out of the way) standing in front of it. Cuz we're awesome. The fan is larger than I imagined. Not bulky, just sort of like you took the scale tool in photoshop and enlarged it uniformly. It's the "papa fan" of our family of fans. The base is nice and wide so it's really steady on our carpet and it produces enough of the wind sound to soothe us to sleep without being noisy. I like rhythmic windy fan sound. I don't like random screechy, clunky, "is there a screw loose?" sounds. So I wouldn't claim this to be quiet, per se. But it certainly isn't loud. In the end we decided to keep it on it's medium setting lest it up our tolerance too high and we end up in a constant all consuming hunt for a stronger fan fix. It's low setting is stronger than the high setting of every single one of our 8 bajillion other fans. Esthetically it looks kind of bad @ss too. Win. Upon questioning, fiance says assembly is, "Pretty straightforward,... also you're pretty." (writer states latter part of statement should be considered "creative nonfiction")
This is a great fan. We had an old Lasko brand pedestal fan die on us after about 8 years of use, so we purchased this one to replace it. My wife and I are fan sleepers (like another reviewer), and this fan is perfect for this application. For us, it's not just about the wind, but the constant ambient noise that accompanies it. Don't get the impression that this fan is LOUD, because it isn't. It is only a little bit louder than the average household pedestal fan.
This is labeled as an "industrial grade fan", and by definition should produce a good amount of wind. This is a powerful high velocity fan that does just that (you won't get a 3/4 HP motor on a household pedestal fan… 1/4 HP tops on most home use ones). Unlike another reviewer, I easily noticed the change in fan speed and airflow between settings. The all metal construction is solid and sturdy (even on the "high" setting), and at the same time reasonably stylish for an industrial fan. I had no problem performing the easy three step assembly process or making adjustments to the height.
Everyone note that this is a stationary fan that does NOT oscillate. If you want an oscillating fan, look else ware.
This is an amazing fan that almost blows us out of bed at the medium setting. It is like sleeping in a wind tunnel! I purchased the "damaged packaging" one from Amazon Warehouse deals for $40, and this is a steal.
The only negative I noticed was that the product description said "Includes an 8.72-Feet 3-conductor power cord and heavy duty wheels". Although I would likely not use them, I found no wheels in the box or on the fan itself.

This fan works really well. It is able to adjust its position vertically, however there is no horizontal or oscillating option. At first I thought this would be a negative for me, however the sturdy construction and power of the fan more than makes up for it in my case and since I'm in a smaller area it isn't that much of a hassle to physically move the fan. It is quite a bit heavier than a standing fan you are going to find at walmart, but this IS an industrial fan and made to be sturdy.
I will say that the box look like hell when it arrived, beat to crap. Also the fan had some superficial damage to it, so I suspect I was actually sold a "used" item when the description stated it was "new". However, since the fan is meeting my needs and actual operation didn't seem to be adversely affected. Just make sure to inspect yours well when it arrives.

I bought this to keep me cool and (somewhat) dry during high-intensity indoor interval workouts, using a bicycle and rollers (like a stationary trainer, except that you still have to balance). I had been using a cheap, largely plastic fan, which eventually just fell apart. So to replace it with something that wouldn't in turn need to be replaced in a year or two, I was looking for something all or mostly metal in construction. This was the cheapest fan I could find meeting that criterion. It seems to be entirely metal, and has a pretty heavy base, which gives it good stability and keeps it from vibrating. I'm no expert on fans but it looks to be high quality throughout. It's quite powerful and does what I need it to do admirably well. I've given it 4 rather than 5 stars because, even on the lowest setting (which generates more than enough air for my purposes and thus is the only setting I ever use) it's fairly noisy. If I were using this fan to cool a room on a hot summer day, I think the noise is just enough to be distracting. It's not like a jet engine but neither can you just pretend its not there. I've had it about 3 months now, have used it on average about 3x per week for around an hour per session, and have had no problems whatsoever.

I only had raclette once before ordering this, so I don't have a connoisseur's understanding of it all, but I can say that this grill does a great job for my family and I. I like the idea of the granite top better than a metal one. It just seems cleaner and maybe healthier for you. The pans and scrapers are fine and it actually heated up for cooking in less time than the other raclette I had before. The granite seemed to stain a little and was somewhat difficult to clean, but I really don't mind. You only see the stains when it's heating up and before any food goes on it. After that, it's covered in meats and vegetables, and that's all that really matters!
