Suncourt HC300 Heating & Air Conditioning Booster Fan

Suncourt HC300 Heating & Air Conditioning Booster FanBased on the other reviews, it sounds as though the EQ2 works for some people and doesn't for others depending on their individual room and HVAC configurations. I have an upstairs room with a vaulted ceiling that is 10 degrees Fahrenheit hotter or colder than the rest of the house. The room is more than 200 sq. ft., has only one vent, and is the farthest from the blower. I've had my EQ2 now for 3 years and it is still working fine. The EQ2 brings the temperature difference down to about 4 degrees, which is livable. I tried out the AirFlow Breeze that has 2 DC fans in it but it didn't work as well as the EQ2.

Yep, I gotta agree with the other reviewers that this is a waste of money. Great concept, poorly executed. It does turn on and off automatically, but that's it's only good point.

I have an upstairs bedroom that gets about 5-6 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. Warmer even than the adjacent bedroom. Put one of these over the vent, checked the temperature all day, and there was no difference. I think most computer fans are probably quieter and blow more air. All this seems to do is churn the air around a bit.

While I'm not a mechanical engineer, I think this product could have been designed better, without adding cost, and actually might have worked.

Save your money. If you have a vent that's not vlowing much air, try removing the grill. The grill restricts the airflow and removing it might be enough to help.

Like everyone else I have a room that doesn't get the benefit of enough heat. Is is fed by a side duct off the main furnace duct really a bad design because the heat on its way up three flights races past this duct and even a scoop doesn't cure the 5 degree deficit. I put this fan over one of the two outlets for this side duct, AND BLOCKED THE OTHER to prevent the fan from just pulling air from the other vent. It now has to pull from the furnace and the 5 degree difference disappeared. It is also on a thermostatic control.

Works as advertised. My family recently moved into a 2-story colonial, and the airflow coming out of the vents in the master bedroom is a little weak, making it warmer than the rest of the bedrooms on the top floor. I could turn down the thermostat, but that would freeze out the rest of the house. The Suncourt (HC500) and Airflow Breeze boosted registers caught my eye, but I wanted a quick solution (i.e. no order-and-wait) and the local Home Depot had the HC300 in stock.

What can I say, but "it works". Without the HC300, the airflow (floor vents shooting upward) reached a height of 3 ft (based on holding my hand above the vent), and with the booster, it reached a perceptible height of 5 feet. With a single booster over 1 of our 2 vents, the master bedroom was noticeably cooler. In fact it worked so well that I ordered two in-vent boosters (HC500) so that I have one for each duct. The weather has cooled down, so I'm unable to compared those to the HC300, except that they are quieter.

As far as noise goes, the HC300 is not silent, but it is far quieter than a Marpac white noise machine set to the lowest setting (we use that in our baby's room). Actually, for use in a bedroom, I find the low level of white noise kinda soothing. As an added bonus, the fan in the booster doesn't turn off until the air temperature from the ductwork reaches a preset temperature. That means that after the AC (or heat) has turned off, the booster is still scavenging the remaining cool (or warm during the winter) air from the ductwork.

This is a great solution if your airflow to a room is weak, but I can imagine some circumstances (strong airflow, but warm air) where boosting the airflow won't help or you'll have a ceiling effect. Yes, you ideally would want to call in a professional to rebalance the ductwork, but in many instances it would be cost prohibitive (i.e. ripping up flooring to get to the ductwork).

I give it a 4 out of 5, with 1 point deducted for the (albeit low) noise level.

I bought two register boosters several years ago and one of the two recently stopped working; could not be repaired by my engineer husband. No longer carried at local store so I ordered two online. We use them on the second floor of our home to boost heat in the winter and A/C in the summer and they work very well. Hope neither of the new ones ordered via Amazon fail!

Landmann USA 28240 Halo Fire Pit

Landmann USA 28240 Halo Fire PitIt's true! I like s'mores. This little workhorse of a fire pit yields both excellent s'mores and excellent conversations. You need to make sure you keep the fire small or it'll scorch the top of the grating, but all in all I can't complain. Before you buy please note that the item requests sand in the bottom or the ashes will corrode the metal. For two people who only own a scooter it would've been beneficial to know this before we opened it up just in time for our housewarming. ;)

Since we live in dry Southern California we were concerned about having a fire pit, but it works wonderfully and doesn't make us overly concerned about embers flying around. We do caution against large pieces of wood, and instead we opt for the little tiny pre-cut logs that you can get at the grocers.

This is a fantastic fire pit as I have seen many less quality ones at higher prices especially during this time of the season. This is sturdy, large and made to last because it is very solid. It is a 3 piece set (made in China); the base, the lid and the fire rod are all included. The pictures online don't really do this justice. Just keep in mind Amazon ships it in the original manufacturer's box so if you're ordering a gift and doing bill-to/ship-to just know that the recipient will know what's included.

Buy Landmann USA 28240 Halo Fire Pit Now

The outer ring and legs are made from hollow tubing. The bottom is thin metal but sturdy. The design is simple and well engineered for strength and should hold up if taken care of. The finish seems to be some type of black powder coating which is good for preventing rust but I don't yet know how well it will handle heat. Assembly is easy and self explanatory. Although I don't recall seeing it in the directions for this item, I've read that putting sand in the bottom of a fire pit will help prevent the bottom of it from rusting out. I would also store it upside down on wood blocks if kept outdoors as there is no drain hole for water. Allowing standing water in any metal fire pit will likely cause it to quickly rust out.

If you are looking to buy American made products, don't let the name "Landmann USA" throw you off. This is "Made in China".

I was excited about this product due to the price and the high rating of 4 stars, but I was surely mistaken and regret this purchase. Obviously it works as much as a metal bowl would for keeping fire, but this thing is not much better than that: a metal bowl. Where the legs are attached, fire spills out, so I had to move the sticks on the ground near the pit so that they wouldn't burn. Then, the entire outside of the bowl lit on fire as the paint melted away. Essentially the black paint on the bowl is not fire proof and just burned off. Then, to stop embers from hitting my guests, I put the top on, but it melted and deformed. The paint on that also immediately burned off, and the metal grate starting melting after about 30 seconds, so I took it off. After one use, the Fire Pit looks like a scraped, scratched, and mistreated fire pit.

The Original Microwave Grill - PERFECT MICRO GRILL: Backyard Grilling Quality

The Original Microwave Grill - PERFECT MICRO GRILL: Backyard Grilling QualityThe first time I used the grill the bottom plastic melted! The food was dried out, even my dog did'nt eat it. In my opinion this is a very inferior product. I wasted the price of the grill + shipping and had to throw the grill away after first usage. NOT GOOD!!

Anything between two paper towels in the mircowave does as good if not better. I thought from the description it would give grill marks........ no chance. Give it little more time in the microwave? ... it just drys out the food and overcooks. I used this product twice and threw it in the garbage.... worthless.

Microhearth Cookware Set for Microwave Oven, LimeHats off to the genius who came up with this handy product! It truly changes the whole concept of microwave cooking and makes keeping your stove clean a whole lot easier! All the meat I cook in it comes out tender and juicy. Best cooking device I've purchased in years! Thanks Amazon!

I had a baby last summer, so I never manage to find time to cook anymore. This microwave set has been a total lifesaver. Now I can steam veggies, make eggs, cook meats and pasta and even make muffins. Everything turns out great, you wouldn't even know it was from the microwave. Plus clean up is a snap...you just rinse these out instead of cleaning skillets, pans and stove tops.

Nostalgia Electrics MDM-600 Mini Orbital Donut Maker

Nostalgia Electrics MDM-600 Mini Orbital Donut MakerI bought the nostaglia donut maker for my girls for christmas. The donuts were so tiny and they burned the bottom the middle back donut had to stay in longer or was doughy and the tops were too light and doughy if you took them out so bottoms didn't burn. I was not impressed. I looked up reviews on the Sunbeam and Bella Cucina and was going to get the Bella Cucina but ended up with the Sumbeam. So I did a cook off with the Sunbeam and Nostalgia. The Nostalgia still burned the doughnuts by the time they were not doughy. The Sunbeam did much better and we were very happy with them. The Sunbeam donuts are a little bigger (twice the size of the nostalgia ones) about 2 1/2 inch diameter, more even on the bottom in color but still a little lighter on the top but a much better donut maker on the whole. We will keep the Sunbeam one over the nostalgia donut maker. This is a fun activity to do with my girls. We tried a recipe online which is supposed to be from Bella Cucina which is 1 c flour, 1/2 csugar, 1Tbsp baking powder, 1 egg 1/2 c milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 4 tbsp oil. We were very happy how they turned out will keep the Sunbeam and will try other recipes for fun.

The first experimental batch was burned on the bottom and white on the top after only 3 minutes. I've read that flipping the donuts half way through cooking time works best and there is now a donut maker that flips just like the flip waffle maker. So, after 1 minute and 30 seconds exactly, I flipped the entire machine on its lid. (Use a heat proof mat because the lid side is hot). Cook for an additional 1 minute and 30 seconds. Worked perfectly. They were brown on both sides. Use a pancake pen to fill the pan and fill all the way to the brim otherwise they will look flat like washers. The pancake pen allows you to fill rapidly which is important because the bottoms start cooking as soon as they are in the pan. They are 2 inches diameter when done, and 5/8 inch deep. I did not need to grease the pan with the basic recipe and the donuts did not stick. They pick up easily when done with a wooden skewer. If you are in a hurry, this works faster than an oven. If I want deeper donuts though, I will use the oven donut baking pans. The directions say to open with a pot holder, but the handle is not hot and is easy to hold for flipping. Use your own discretion for that. Total baking time 3 minutes. I only gave it 3 stars because the directions say 5-7 minutes and they do burn on the bottom if you don't flip it.

I bought this Nostalgia Mini Donut Maker at a local store at a deeply discounted price. I didn't even think to check the reviews on Amazon first because the price was so low. Who would have thought this donut maker would be so lowly rated?

I have to concur with all the reviews. This doesn't work very well. It does burn the donuts. I followed the directions of a fellow reviewer and baked the donuts for exactly 3 minutes and turned the whole machine over at a minute and a half to help a little bit. I used a muffin mix that comes in a pouch and that worked well but the donuts still tried to burn at just 3 minutes.

The size donuts were a nice size, similar to the powdered ones that come in the bag but I can't recommend it because the donut maker itself does not do a good job. There are other donut makers that get good reviews and I think I'm going to try the Sunbeam. I am returning this one to the store tomorrow after one use.

My daughter received this product for Christmas. I am not sure where the purchaser bought it at. But This review is for the product itself and the costumer service of Nostalgia Electrics. After 4 months of use (with very good handling and storage in its original box) the nonstick coating starts to flake off and the middle rear space doesn't get hot. Called costumer service and they said I could mail it back at MY OWN EXPENSE and they would check it out and send one back, except they are being discontinued soon so no promises of the same product being sent back out. --this is Nostalgia Electrics costumer service!!!! Weber 2820 Smokey Mountain Cooker/Smoker

Weber 2820 Smokey Mountain Cooker/SmokerThe Weber Smokey Mountain (WSM) is really the king of the bullet smokers. You may be tempted to go with a cheaper Brinkmann model, and if your budget just can't afford the WSM, then you can do some prefectly acceptible bbq on the brinkmann.

But if you can afford the extra for the WSM, you will get much better temperature control, and getting good temperature control means you can keep a good consistent low temeperature for doing some truly outstanding smoke cooking.

I am by no means an expert on the subject, only having used my WSM about 10 times. Even so, I have been getting results better than any ribs I have tasted at any restaurant (with the exception of real honest to goodness BBQ joints that cook over hardwood for 12 hours plus...). You can tell real barbecue because it has a pink smoke ring in the meat, which I always get when I use the WSM.

You will want to check on the net for the virtual WSM web page, it has a lot of information, and I found the info there a lot more useful than the methods recommended in the owner's manual.

This cooker is not for the impatient who want instant results, your first few times using it may be frustrating until you learn to control where the temperature is going, not where it is right now. But stick with it and you will start to make some truly great bbq. And understand that you are going to be cooking low and slow, which means it is going to take 4, 5, 6 hours or more to do ribs, but once you get the hang of it, they will be some of the best ribs you have tasted.

More than a fair number of barbecue champions use the WSM get results as good as if not better than those guys using the $1000 plus offset pits. The WSM is a great value and the perfect starter "pit" for someone thinking about getting into serious barbecue.

(You can do yourself a favor by using hickory wood chunks as part of the fuel, and real lump charcoal, not briquettes. Briquettes are nice and all, but they are filled with clay and other impurities, really if you are going to the trouble of using charcoal instead of gas, go with real charcoal if you can find it)

If you're in the market for your first barbecue cooker, or if you currently own an inexpensive cooker that's frustrating and difficult to use, consider purchasing the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker (WSM).

At home in the backyard and on the barbecue competition circuit, the WSM is not the cheapest cooker on the market today, but it's quality and ease of use make it an excellent value. It benefits from the same quality construction, materials, and customer service as all Weber products, and it's superior design makes it very easy to use.

One of the keys to success in creating great barbecue is being able to control the temperature of your cooker. This is critical when cooking "low and slow" barbecue for 10 to 12 hours or longer, for example when making beef brisket or pork shoulder. This is where the WSM really shines! Unlike other cookers, you don't have to babysit the WSM to maintain a low, consistent cooking temperature. A good airtight design and a series of adjustable air vents make precise temperature control and adjustment extremely simple. You control the cooker, it doesn't control you!

Two cooking grates provide the capacity to cook up to 8 slabs of ribs, or two whole briskets, or even six whole chickens! A water pan provides a moist cooking environment for your meats, while directing heat up and around your meat for indirect cooking. A generous charcoal chamber holds many hours of fuel, as well as your favorite smoke wood chunks--like oak, hickory, apple, and cherry--to create that great smoked barbecue flavor.

Assembly is fast and easy, taking only a few minutes with a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench. The WSM also comes with an owner's manual, a premium vinyl cover, and a 10 year limited warranty.

The WSM is a fantastic product that will provide you and your family and friends with years of great barbecue. The quality will be remembered long after the price is forgotten!

Buy Weber 2820 Smokey Mountain Cooker/Smoker Now

I have only owned a couple smokers in my life, and after purchasing this one I don't plan on owning anything else. The Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker (WSM) is a simple, yet incredibly effective water smoker.

The WSM has two cooking sections which allows you to smoke a good amount of food (such as a whole turkey and a whole ham simultaneously). The 18 1/2 inch grates allow plenty of food, but you might have to get a little tricky if you want to smoke something like 8 racks of ribs. This can be done if you roll the ribs up and use a skewer to hold them in place. If you aren't trying to entertain large parties, then this is the perfect family smoker.

The WSM is coated with porcelain enamel, much like the One-Touch kettle grills. The grates are triple-nickel-plated. The WSM is very sturdy. The material is nice and hefty, you don't get the sense that this smoker was cheaply made. One of the only issues I have with this smoker is the access door. Instead of being hinged it comes completely off the smoker. It can take a little bit of figiting to get it to attach to the smoker, but this is an extremely small issue.

The reason people love this smoker is because with a single batch of charcoal you can smoke for an incredibly long time. If you use the minion method then you can smoke for up to 18-20 hours without adding anymore charcoal! For those who aren't aware, the minion method is where you fill the charcoal ring with unlit charcoal, light about 10-15 briquettes and place them on top of the unlit charcoal. Please don't use the minion method with pre-soaked coals. My first smoke was a brisket and for the first 5 hours it stayed exactly at 245 degrees without any adjustments! I thought my thermometer was broken... it wasn't this smoker is incredibly efficient. Another example is the second time I smoked with this. I smoked a 10 lb brisket, started at midnight. It finished 5:00 PM the following day. That's 17 hours right there. I roused the coals a bit and was able to smoke some stuffed jalapenos for another 2 hours. That's 19 hours on a single batch of charcoal! I am very impressed. I have a Brinkman smoker and when I used that smoker I would get about 2 hours of burn time. The WSM is just so much more efficient and has MUCH better air control.

Here are a couple of tips if you plan on buying a WSM (and you should!).

Get a decent enough thermometer, such as a candy thermometer so you can check your temperature at the lid. This will become instrumental in your cooking.

Unfortunately the WSM has a small water pan. What you should do is buy a replacement Brinkmann Smoke N Grill charcoal pan (don't get the water pan, make sure you get the charcoal pan). You can buy one directly from Brinkmann for about $13.00. If you look hard enough you can find them online for around $5.00 $10.00. The Brinkmann charcoal pan fits perfectly inside the WSM as a water pan (some say it fits even better!). It also holds more then double the amount of water then the standard WSM water pan. This allows you about 7-8 hours of cooking before needing to refill the pan, which is much better then the 2-3 you get with the standard water pan. Once your temps stabilize you can easily do overnight cooks and also get some shut-eye!

To conclude I would like to say that if you are even thinking about getting a vertical water smoker then stop looking right now. This smoker is near perfect in every single way. With a few tiny modifications you can own one of the best smokers in the world at this price!

This smoker is becoming the standard of the industry for bullet type smokers. Many competetion bbq teams are winning contests using this simple unit. The cooker has the ability to run for over 12 hours on a single loading of briquets. Makes long cooks of brisket or butts quite easy.

I have had one of these units now for some time and just ordered another. I plan on getting two more for competetion. Most serious q'ers will want to mount a termometer on the lid, and possibly replace the stock waterpan with a larger one if you plan on cooking overnight. Have done brisket, butts, ribs and tri-tip and all came out great with little fuss. We own a large

mobile cooker for large parties but for small Qing this thing works great.

Approximately 18 years ago I bought a Weber Smokey Mountain smoker and my outdoor cooking experience took a definite turn for the better. I have smoke cook as much as 1 beef brisket, 1 ham and 1 turkey at the same time and all turned out to restaurant perfection. Nothing has ever turned out bad and the comments from people who have eaten the food has always been great, even behind my back. After 18 years when I clean the cooker with oven cleaner it looks like new. I have only replaced the top grill one time and that is a good record considering how many times it has been used. Finding Weber items have not been a problem but I have had trouble finding a Weber cover for it as not many retailers stock them. I have not been able to find them even at this site. But that is a minor inconvience compared to the joy the cooker has brought to me and my family.

Raclette Indoor Grill 1200W

Raclette Indoor Grill 1200WMy family loves melting cheese with onions and mushrooms in the little raclettes. We boil potatoes and pour the mixture on top. They are very nonstick. We use the stone to cook strips of beef or chicken or shrimp that we also put the melted cheese on. Treat the stone like an iron skillet. Just scrape off anything while its still hot and wipe off and put on a little oil. Also you must oil the stone before use and let it preheat.

Rosle Dual Functioning Mini Grill and Oven Thermometer, Set of 4

Rosle Dual Functioning Mini Grill and Oven Thermometer, Set of 4I grill a lot and in general I am a gadget guy. I have a couple of the wireless temperature probe sensor thermometers, and I have a fork type thermometer. I seen these and thought this would be something that would be easy to use. I have only used them 3 times. I like my steak medium rare. When I took my steak off when the thermometer showed medium rare and after the steak sit for a few minutes, it was medium/medium well. The next time I grilled I used the thermometers in conjunction with my fork thermometer. When my fork thermometer was at the desired temp the Rosle thermometer dial had hardly move. I was grilling 4 steak also and each thermometer dial was slightly different. I do not regret buying them, maybe they will work out eventually. If they break, would I replace them, no. A plus and the main reason I bought them, they can be left on the grill during cooking (I only insert on the last flip of the steak).
