I purchased this item for Christmas but today sent it to the trash. Despite extreme care, using plastic lifter, generous use of Pam or other oils, food sticks every time and the item is almost impossible to clean. I would say it worked well for about the first month. We have kept using it but finally reached the point of too much frustration. This item is a very good idea but with poor execution -it needs a very strong non-stick finish.

I do not recommend this product. After only 4 months of use, the cooking surface started to bubble, even though I seasoned the pan as per the directions. This product was a waste of money.

Both times I have used my brand-new GT Express (following the instructions to the letter), the food was completely fused to the "non-stick" surface and had to be scraped out in bits and pieces, making a big mess on the counter and ruining the appearance of the food. Because of the incinerated "crust" fused to both the top and bottom wells, cleanup is quite a chore, too. This product is a huge disappointment and I highly recommend AGAINST purchasing it; if I could rate it "0," I would.

This item is great for infant sized portions. The non stick coating wore off after about 5 uses despite following instructions for seasoning. Cleaning was an absurdity. Food particles got stuck in the gap between the lid and the base. Burned on food had to be scraped off. We threw it away after about 10 days. We didn't even bother to unpack the second "free' one. That went the way of the first.

Save your money and use a frying pnn.

Followed all instructions, for keeping it non stick, seasoning it, using nonstick spray, when called for in recipe book. Cakes and eggs were a nightmare, about the only thing that did not stick was sandwiches wrapped with a tortilla. Very disappointed,so now it is seldom used.

I recently moved into a house that had an exceptional heating system except in the master bedroom (probably due to a large French door). Didn't see the logic in heating the whole empty house just to keep one room warm, I started to look for a suitable heater. Upon some search, Vornado DVH surfaced as a viable option. Although pricier than other models, if it did what it claims to do (even warmth, quietness, safe to kids' touch, and good control) I thought the product would be ideal for my family needs.

While searching for the best price, I came to read the ratings by others on the Amazon site, and it was disturbing for me to see that there was a noticeable disparity among the raters (please look through the reviews and see for yourselves-5 to 1 star). But it sounded great at least for those who had them in working condition, so I decided to give it a try, knowing that there is a chance that I might get the bad apple.

Well, I have been using the unit for a while now and I have to tell you that it is worth MORE than its weight in gold!!! It is quite; temperature control is dead accurate; heating is impressively even throughout the room; and it really doesn't get hot at all to the touch; and even looks cool. I have occasional circuit breaker tripping when I use hair drier in the bathroom connected to the same room, but Vornado has not tripped the circuit not even once, even though I usually have it run at 78F when I use it (basically all night).

I'm sure others' claims on defective products are valid. But if you are unsure whether to give it a try because of those reviews like I was a few weeks ago, I strongly recommend you give this product a try. Even if you end up with a defective product like others claim, if you can get a good one after exchange (and get something like what I got), it is worth the trouble-and believe me I'm an extremely lazy person when it comes to product exchanges...

I only write this review because I wished that I had something like this to help my decision making. Hope it helps you.

I live in a basement apartment in Washington DC. The winters here get pretty cold and I do not have control of the heater. The landlord upstairs controls the heat (and they are rarely home).

I plugged this heater into my front room. The room measures 20x25'. The temperature gage intially read 58 degrees! Wow that's cold. I set the digital temperature gage to 72 degrees. It initially took about an hour to reach that temperature (I think the electronics needed to be broken in).

This little heater has been plugged in and running nonstop, 24 hours a day, for the past three weeks and it is nothing short of spectacular!

I positioned the heater at one corner of the apartment and it heats the entire room and keeps every corner of the room at the same temperature.

Since it has a plastic casing, it is constantly cool-to-the-touch and I have no reservation with leaving it on when I leave in the morning to go to work. The unit *never* gets hot.

I thought $100 was a bit expensive for a heater, but wow... this purchase has been justified.

I also have a humidifier (by Bionaire) running on a 24-hour basis to prevent the room from becoming too dry.

The temperature gage on the heater is spectacular. You really can tell the difference between 70 and 72 degrees with this heater.

It's fabulous. Nothing short of fabulous.

The Digital Vortex Heater is wonderful! We have a drafty attic office in our home, which has been impossible to heat. We've gone through at least 3 different heaters (all under $50) with no luck. We decided to try the Vornado Digital because of "how" it heats.

With other heaters, the room never really got warm. As long as you sat or stood directly in front of the electric heater, you were freezing. With the Vornado Digital heater, it warms the entire room by circulating the heat. And believe me, no matter what other says, it works! The only drawback, is it does take (depending on the size of the room, how cold it is outside, and how drafty the room is) some time to heat up the room. For the attic office space we have, it's about a 20' by 20' space. It warms up the room in about 20 mins, depending on how cold it is outside. BUT, once it's warm, it stays warm! The internal thermostat on the Vornado Digital works quite well. We actually have to turn it down or off after a while, because it gets so warm. I have been noticing after a few weeks of use, that it seems to warm up faster. So maybe there was a break-in period it had to go through, I can't be sure. Although, it does seem to work better after a little use.

We tried several different heaters from several different manufacturers, and the Vornado was by far the best at warming a room, and keeping it warm! Is this heater the kind of heater that pumps out direct HOT air? No. If you want a heater that is just going to be pointed at you to keep you warm, this might not be the heater for you. But if you want a heater that will heat up a room and keep it warm, with soothing warm air, there is no other heater better for the price! Again, it's most amazing feature being that is circulates the air throughout the room. Just for the feature alone I am satisfied, because I feel that's the secret to correctly heating a space. The only downfall being, that it takes some time to do it.

My suggestion is to at the very least, try the Vornado Digital. I purchased it from the Vornado website for $100.00, but I suggest going through Amazon to save on shipping. I think you'll be happy you tried it!

I recommend this one only. It seems to me that DVTH is an upgrade version of DVH (you can see the product number which is different) and far better than VH2. Current temp. and setting temp. is shown repeatedly with fan speed ('LO', 'HI', and 'FA'n only), and it accurately monitor and warm up the room.

Other heaters stops fan as well as the heating element when the desired temparature is reached; this one doesn't. Fan works continuously (slowly) when the temparature is reached... so that the entire room air is heated up properly. I tried Homles one, and Black and decker one, but they don't have this functionality.

I am pretty sure this fan works well esp. when there is another heat source (like ordanary apartment) but heating is not enough. I am not sure for other cases. But definitely, this guy is well worth the money (I know this is expensive). You can search hard and ask for the best price in a big online company which sells this.

I have owned several different space heaters from different manufacturers over the past 5 years or so, and this is the best by far. Most ceramic heaters generate too much heat in a small area and they get hot enough to start fires. The ceramic heaters I have used have melted parts of my desk or chair, they are a real fire or burn hazard. Even though they have fans inside to blow the heat, the heated air is so hot that it never gets more than a few inches in front of the heater before rising straight up. You are always either freezing cold or in fear of being burned depending on hwo many inches you place it from you. Oil heaters are nice but they have a terrible smell (supposedly this goes away) and they do not have a way to spread the heat at all.

The Vortex heater has a medium sized fan with a small wire heating element behind it. It's very much like the way a hair dryer works to heat air. This heater generates lots of air flow, more like a regular fan, while heating the air. You can place this heater 6 feet away and you will still feel a warm breeze from it.

The vortex heater is VERY quiet, and the front of the heater does not get hot enough to burn you. I also use this heater a quiet personal fan for the summer time. If you set the FAN switch to ON, the heat switch to LOW and the thermostat all the way down, it will blow air but not stop heating it.

The plug and power cord on the heater does not get hot like other heaters, but remember never cover the power cord on any space heater or high-powered appliance because it does still generate some heat.

The heater does a good job of detecting the temperature of the room and will turn off when it reaches the desired temperature setting.

The heater will turn off if tipped over. If the heater is bumped it turns off for a second. However, if you wanted to place this heater on an angled surface it will still work. Whatever the mechanism it has, it allows it to be angled but not tipped over all the way or bumped suddenly. The heater does not have a way to aim it up or down. It is preconfigured to blow at a very slight upward angle.

I have been using this heater to heat my 7 month old son's play area recently. He started crawling and the front of the design on the heater is just barely large enough to allow his tiny little fingers to poke into the front of the heater and get hit by the fan (this has never happened but at the largest part of the gaps in the front of the unit, it would be possible). Other than that, this heater is safer for children because neither the air nor the front of the heater gets hot. I would say that in a few more months his fingers will be too large to poke through. If this heater had the fine wire mesh front like most other heaters, it would be perfect.

The vortex heater is a little more expensive than other heaters, but it is well worth the extra money. I have had this heater for about 2 or more years and it works GREAT!

This thing is junky. I only used a few times and the finish is comming off mine as well. The grill holes are at the end so if you want that grill look you have to cook the food at the edge. Save your money and find something better.

I have this grille and have used it many, many times. You can cook fish, steak, chicken and other things on it. It's quick and keeps the food moist, which is the best feature. I love it because I eat lots of salads and when you are making salads you don't want to be spending time cooking the meat. The secret is in leaving the meat on longer than you would and turning it over just once...not fussing and fussing over it. Other reviewers have commented on the weakness of the finish and I agree, it does come off rather easily, but using PAM or other non stick stuff makes that not a problem. If you don't use it, however, clean up is difficult. Other than that, I've never let the liquid boil off and anyway, you can pour a beer on it while it's cooking and it will not only add flavor to the meat but it spills into the ring and then you don't boil off all the liquid. I love the thing and use it alot. I've even given it as a gift. It's a decent product and works well for the money.

My mother gave me one of these grills a number of years ago. I loved it AT FIRST but, as other reviewers have noted, the finish came off of it very quickly (no matter how gently I treated it) and the food started to stick. Also, if you don't pay close attention, the water will cook out and the grill will smoke. One more thing: the 'mound' shape of it makes putting food onto or removing it from the grill almost impossible without using tongs.

This is useful and fun, what more could you ask ? You can use one or two probes. The probes are connected to the transmitter, you then turn on the remote, then the transmitter. I use it for everything, steaks, chops, whatever. I go into the living room and watch the remote. When the temperature gets over about 100 I turn the meat over if necessary. The only thing I have noticed is the temperatures that trigger the audible alarm are set too high, likely thanks to lawyers. For example, when I set it to medium rare for beef, it was more like medium. Now I set it on rare ( 140 ) and get a perfect medium rare. For pork the number is 170. I take it off at 160. After all, it continues to cook after it is taken off. Before I bought this I used to guess but now I get perfect results every time. Highly recommended.

Great product, I can have a steak and chicken on at the same time and don't have to keep going back to the BBQ to check if they are done. The down side is that it goes through batteries quickly but with rechargeable not a major problem.

This thing is very handy. I am just getting the hang of a new smoker, and bought this so I did not have to be chained to the smoker on hot summer days.

I put one probe in the smoker to measure heat temp, and the other in a pork shoulder. It alternates back and forth between the two, constantly keeping me update. the convenience is awesome. Allows me to work on my computer and take care of customers while I smoke my meat.

This is the first time I've used it, so I don't know about battery life, but regardless, it is great. The radio reception works great through an outside and one interior wall.

UPDATE (June 30, 2012): In the years since I wrote this review, I've bought another one just like it so I can monitor up to 3 pieces of meat while monitoring the smoker temp. I've cooked a lot with these, and have never regretted buying them. Seriously cannot imagine life without it. BUY. IT. NOW.

This transmitter works flawlessly. The dual-probes let you track two meats or if you are like me and like to cook things at low (200-250 degree) temperatures it is invaluable to free you from having to sit next to the grill the whole time.

You can set your own custom temperature you want it to alert you at if none of the presets work (in my case I just set one of them up to beep if it goes above 275 so I know it is getting too hot...)

Unlike other wireless transmitters this one is rated up to 500 degrees... and if it gets out of range it will display "HHH" instead of just frying itself like other brands probes. If a probe should ever go bad Maverick will replace it for free (instructions in the box tell you where to mail it to)

The only reason this thermometer doesn't get 5 stars is because the interface is not completely intuitive... You really do have to read the manual to figure out how to do basic things like reset the countdown timer, or set the clock. The other thing keeping it from being a 5-star unit is the lack of setting a "temperature floor" that you want it to beep if it gets "below" which would be useful for when I'm using it as a gril thermometer.

The few drawbacks aside: this is an excellent unit that works wonderfully well. Heck it even comes with batteries! Buy it today and you wont regret it.

UPDATE: 2010 -

This thing died on me after about a year of using it. For most things now I use a thermapen, and for wireless stuff I use a stoker connected to wifi so I haven't missed this very much.

I would no longer recommend this unless you are looking for a cheap thermometer that might not last that long.

I was hesitant to buy given some of the reviews, but it seems to work well. Temps from the two probes are within 1-2 degrees of each other, and the signal gets through to the receiver which is about 40 feet away inside the kitchen. I thought at first it wasn't working, but it seems as if the unit only transmits when the temperature changes. So if you are testing it and it's just sitting outside and the temperature is stable, it looks like it's not working. It does occasionally miss a transmission, so the receiver might be a few degrees off from the transmitter, but then it seems to catch up on the next transmission ten or twenty seconds later. This is not the best way to design this, but it seems to work well enough. The controls are a little clunky, hence the 4 stars, but it does seem to work for me. Also, you can customize the settings for doneness, despite reviews to the contrary, but you have to read the instructions and realize that there are two temperature tables -actually it's quite flexible. It does lose all the settings including the time of day if you turn it off, but there's a standby mode that only runs the clock. Again, not the best design, and they could probably have made it more robust for another $5, but it works well as a basic temperature monitor, and is sure beats running in and outside all day to monitor the smoker temperature.

Oster CKSTGRFM18 9 by 20-Inch Folding Griddle

We got this griddle being very excited that it was dishwasher safe and foldable. Those are the only good things about this griddle. The plug does not fully stay in the griddle and I have to push it up against a wall to hold it in place otherwise the plug falls out and the griddle doesn't work. Even when it is shoved up against a wall, the plug won't fully engage which causes a host of headaches. Another wonderful feature is that due to the folding mechanism, both sides do not heat evenly so one side will burn my pancakes, while the other side will not cook them. Overall this was a terrible buy and I would not recommend this product to anyone. It seems appealing because of storage, washing, etc. but lets face it, you want a griddle that works and this does not. If you've ordered it, keep your receipt and send it back. I foolishly threw mine away banking on the good name of Oster. I was sorely disappointed.

It was a gift to our son and family . They love it ! It is easy to clean and to put away . It fits in smaller places,and cooks evenly.

Totally agree with above. I had identical problems. Doesn't fit in dishwasher, and more importantly doesn't work. Power device does not attach correctly and the power goes off and on making it almost impossible to cook anything. The heating, when it does work is so uneven you will want to scream in frustration. I was surprized as my last Oster griddle was great. After last use I was so aggravated I too threw the griddle away in order to force mayself to buy a new one. To put further sting on this experience, when I went on Amazon to buy a different one I found the original order and realized that the griddle I had ordered was not the one I recieved from 3rd party seller steamertrunkbooks.This was back in May and now is too late for me to do anything about it. My own fault for not realizing it was the wrong one. Buyer beware...Bottom line, the one I ordered was one I had previously and it was great for cooking though a bit involved to keep clean.

George Foreman GRV660 8-in-1 Toaster Oven/Broiler/Rotisserie, Black

I purchased this toaster oven because I wanted to use it to heat smaller items such as a frozen french bread pizza or bake cookies without heating up the larger oven.

The grill is a nice size it doesn't take up too much kitchen space, though it is taller than most toaster ovens I have seen. Opening the box, you will see two aluminum cookie sheets which I initially thought were packing materials to protect the item during shipping. Setting up the toaster oven doesn't take too long despite the fact that the manual doesn't mention much about initial setup. You kind of just have to figure it out with common sense.

The first thing I tried was heating one of those non-microwavable frozen dinners. I was surprised at how quickly the oven heated. Unfortunately, when turning the timer knob, it cracked and broke. I am contacting the company for a replacement. This is annoying me now because the timer either counts down from 30 minutes or can be set to "stay on". Obviously, with a cracked knob it is difficult to set the timer.

The oven does generate some heat when cooking enough heat that I had to move the toaster oven out from my original location which was under the cabinet and next to the side of the refrigerator.

I tried baking some cookies and it does fairly well except that the cookie sheet doesn't hold very many cookies. I used the two supplied "cookie sheets" and placed the racks so that they were evenly dispersed from top to bottom. (You'll know what I'm talking about when you see the shaped racks). The cookies came out OK I had to leave the top rack of cookies in a bit longer than the bottom but they both came out fine.

The keep warm feature is nice. The plastic thing at top that is supposed to warm bread does just that...you put cooked bread in it and it keeps the bread warm.

I have not tried the rotisserie feature but plan to use it this weekend with a 3.75 lb. chicken. Overall I am satisfied with the oven. I give it 5 stars despite the minor annoyances such as the broken plastic knob and cheap quality cookie sheets.

UPDATE 11/25/2005:

Salton quickly replaced the broken knobs free of charge. I have not had any other issues with the knobs cracking. The unit does cook a rotisserie chicken very well but the bird can't be too large (or it will hit the sides and/or heating elements). One shortcoming I did not mention in the review is that the glass door does get quite hot during use. Parents should exercise caution when kids are using the oven. I do find myself using this toaster oven every day. Very useful product.

I am a very picky consumer when it comes to replacing things that are going to last a long time--if I'm going to be stuck with it I want to be happy.

My toaster oven of 12 years recently died so I did a lot of research into all the different brands and latest technology. I was intrigued by the rotisserie feature of this toaster oven and liked the quality that I saw in the department store. So I took it home.

This is what I like most about this toaster oven:

1. Can toast about 6 pieces of bread at one time.

2. Can be used as a rotisserie in addition to oven.

3. Actually toasts(!) even though it has all the other features

4. Not too big, not too small

5. The timer dial has a reasonable amount of space between light and dark toast so you can actually tell where you are turning it to. (Some toaster dials don't seem to have any space at all, so how can you tell what you are getting?

6. It comes with a handle tool thing (don't know what to call it) that you can use to pull the racks or cooking pans out with so you don't have to use hot pads.

Little things I don't like:

1. If you don't open the door far enough, it slams shut. With a solid glass door I worry that I'm going to break it but it seems to be sturdy enough.

2. The accessory drawer in the bottom doesn't really hold much of anything.

3. It has two baking racks so I recently tried to put 18 taco shells on the two racks. Well, the tacos on the bottom rack were too close to the element in the bottom so they burned.

To sum it up, I took a chance on this one because it has only been out for a short while, and I think it is well worth the money!

I reviewed this toaster shortly after I bought it in May 2005. Just wanted to say that I LOVE it even more after six months than when I bought it--it's the best toaster oven I've ever had! I can cook six waffles in the morning, cook a Totino's-size frozen pizza, and even use it as a second oven for smaller dishes (8x8 and 7x11 fit fine, 9x13 is too big). Since I only have one wall oven, this was a great help during the holidays. And since you can fit a regular dinner plate inside, I regularly use the "keep warm" function--especially when making pancakes. The glass door does get quite hot, but they all do. I have a fourand six-year-old and they manage to use it without burning themselves. If you are looking for something small, this isn't the one. But if you have a family of 4+ and/or actually want to use it as a second smaller oven, you'll probably be very happy with this one.

We purchased the George Foreman 8 in 1 with the thought we would get the toaster oven we needed and some other features that would be nice to have. The 8 in 1 does have alot of neat features, the issue is it doesn't do any of the features very well. The toaster feature takes about 2 times as long to toast as a smaller, more conventional toaster oven. The Rotisserie is difficult to use and the grease catcher woefully inadequate. We found out the hard way when we had chicken grease overflow out of the grill and onto the counter. I can see this being a very good item for those with very small kitchens and in need of saving space, however, be warned that this oven has many shortcomings.

I love this toaster oven and use mine every day for everything. So when my old one broke, I went on the big hunt and I looked at many. I bought this one because of all the features and I trust GF products.

Well I wasn't disappointed. This cooks everything perfect. The toaster works very fast, just make sure you have it on MAX.

It has 2 racks so you can cooks twice as much. The timers work very well. The top part cooks very well. I can't say one bad word about this product. The price was more than I wanted to spend, but it is well worth it. I saw ovens that was more exspensive than this one and smaller. This is taller than the norm so make sure you have the space under a cabinent

This oven has alot of room inside so you can cook with pans/muffin tins,etc. And yes you can warm your buns on the top part ( not your buns but hot dog rolls etc. :-). I haven't tried the rotissery yet. This came with so much stuff. You will love this. Run out and by it today ! ! ! ! !

I purchased this oven about 5 months ago and I use it almost every day. I hardly ever use my conventional oven anymore. The rotisserie feature is absolutely great. I've used the rotisserie for chickens, roasts, pork chops, etc..they all come out amazing! I've baked chicken and pies and cakes, I use it as a toaster and the broiler is also phenomenal. I love that you can clearly see the food cooking through the glass door. The only thing I don't like about this item is the grill on the top. It's small and messy and easier just to use a frying pan. The door does get hot, but not any hotter than the door on a conventional oven. It's not made out of the sturdiest materials but if you're not rough with the knobs and you don't slam the door, it will be fine. I personally love this oven. It's made my life a lot easier when it comes to cooking.

It is my habit to read reviews submitted by amazon customers because I have found them to be so informative. The current set of cookware we were using we received as a wedding gift 20 years ago. So it had more than served our family well. I was so tempted to purchase the nonstick sets I saw in every store I visited until I read the amazon customer reviews of the products. Those same reviews pointed me in the direction of the Emeril All-Clad set. What beautiful cookware. The price was only $50 more dollars than the other sets with fewer peices.The glass tops keep my husband from openning every pot on the stove to see what is cooking. Cooking and clean up are a breeze. Twenty years from now we will probably still be enjoying this wonderful cookware.

Amazing cookware. Wish the handles had a metal ring or hole (to be hung from a baker's rack), but I do like the removability and clamp area for using them in ovens.

It's an interesting, but very effective / durable (ceramic glass enamel type) non-stick surface. Similar to a more robust version of Grandma's "graniteware" but obviously reformulated for superior non-stick.

And the small 8" starter pan is really good for quick eggs and potatoes, although I suggest getting the 10" or 11" scala pan (in addition to this set) to give a medium sized pan option, otherwise you have a small 8" or very 12.5" large pan.

If one adds some bamboo utensils for cooking, you're all set! I also suggest amazon's deal on Cuisinart 2/3 quart stainless steel pots to compliment this set as well, then you're induction compliant across the board too.

you really can't hurt these unless you forget to remove the handles before placing in the oven.

Handles are replaceable though, so no real worries there.

Poor product Poor customer service Would not buy again for half the price

Warning: First time reviewer here, but I use the reviews of products exclusively on whether or not to purchase products on amazon.com. I do not want any other users to go through the same poor customer service I did only to gain nothing.

I have purchased a set of Berghoff Scala Ceramic coated frying pans. I used the main 12" pan for about a month. As time progresses the pan started to stick. I contacted the customer service dept. that told me to deep clean the pan with baking soda and water. After it was dry add oil to the pan while slowly reheating it. I did this several times to cure my pan as suggested by the customer service rep. He assured me that it would take some time for this to work. This took place over 4 months after purchasing the set. I then got preoccupied when moving into my renovated kitchen. After dealing with my renovation I found the pan again. It was now 12 months since purchase. I had a new representative that made it sound like the guy I was speaking to previously did a poor job and was let go, which he was very rude. She stated they needed to find my files and reopen the review of my pan. She advised me to send the pan in so the warranty dept. could look at the pan. I had to pay shipping both ways but I figured they would at least get my pan back into good condition. Berghoff never called or emailed that they had my pan even though I sent a letter with the pan. After waiting a month I decided to email and see if they received the pan. The last customer service rep I had was now gone and I had a new one again. She had to find the pan again and pull up the files. After a reply from the newest customer service rep she stated that my pan was not covered under warranty. WHAT?

She explained that due to the color of the bottom of the pan I had overheated the pan and that the warranty was now void. I the dirt she cleaned on the bottom of my pan was on all our pans we had. We have a glass top range that we cool all our meals on. It does get dirty at times. I simply took a nylon scrubber to clean one of the other pans I had just to see how hard it was. I emailed back stating that her suggestion was not the case and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. Three weeks later still no response. I called and was directed to the same person I was dealing with my emails. She said she brought the pan to her supervisor and stated that she agreed while refusing to allow me to speak to her supervisor.

The facts: Not once did I ever cook with the pan over ½ heat on my range top. I primarily cooked eggs, sausage, warmed up veggies, and cooked some fish. Mind you that I only used the pan 1 month. I hand washed it after every use. At first everything would slide out of the pan. The pan got to the point where I had to scrape it each time after use and then let it sit in soap water. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE!

Due to the numerous customer service representatives, poor service, and average pans I would never recommend anyone buy from this company. They did offer me a deal though, 50% off their retail of a new pan. That was almost the same price I could buy it off of amazon.com.

Presto 07030 Cool Touch 20-Inch Electric Griddle, Black

I bought this griddle for yakiniku, which is a great way to entertain guests, but I have found that I have been using it far more than anticipated.

Pros:

It's awesome to have a griddle in the kitchen. First and foremost, it's great being able to make more than one or two pancakes at a time. If you want to serve someone up a short stack, there is a lot of waiting using only two pans, but with this, you can crank out three good size cakes at the same time. Also, frying eggs and warming meat at the same time has saved me a lot of time in the mornings.

It's easy to clean. If you read the manual carefully, it suggests seasoning before use. This ensures a light coat of oil stays on it while it's being used. I've done this and NOTHING has stuck to the surface. I also give it a thorough scrub with either a dry paper towel or a wet one held with chopsticks after each use and it stays very clean.

It gets hot fast! Way faster than my range top and a pan, which also saves me time in the morning. This is mostly due to the light construction, but this can also contribute to un-even heating, which I have not yet had a problem with, although others have.

Its just more fun. Maybe this is helping me live out some long-lost short-order cook fantasies? = )

Cons:

As other reviewers have noted, it slides around a bit. I find myself lifting it up a bit on one side to both keep it in place and also to give the spatula better odds of sliding under an egg without breaking it. This is not a deal-breaking compensation, but rubber feet would have been nice here.

It tends to get pretty hot. The manual comes with cooking temps, but I found most of them to be a little high. Cooking a little more cool has helped things out for me. Again, this may be what has attributed to others' problems.

The bottom line here is that you get what you pay for. This is one of the cheaper models on the market, so I think it would be a little unrealistic to assume that the bargain model would deliver a top-of-the-line performance. I have had zero problems with mine so far, but I recognize that it clearly has some room for improvements. Until I want to shell out more than $30 for a small kitchen appliance, I'll be quite happy with this product.

I have been using the griddle for about a year now, and nothing sticks to it. It has a nice wide flat surface that makes it great for making pancakes for the family. My family used to have to eat them in shifts because I could only cook 2 at a time on my regular frying pan. I can do about eight at a time now, depending on how big i want them i can do more. Clean up is a breeze...once you remove the plug the griddle is completely submersable in water. I had a george foreman once...cleaning it was difficult because it couldn't get wet. I cook all my burgers on the Presto now. If grease starts to collect there is a grease tray on the side, just push the unwanted stuff into the hole with a spatula.

My original electric griddle was a Hamilton Beach. I had it for almost 16 years and used it constantly. It had the most non-stick surface I've ever seen. I never used any oil on it, and absolutely nothing stuck, not even scrambled eggs. When it finally wore out, I purchased a Presto Cool Touch griddle as a replacement. The product claimed to be non-stick. I was a little concerned when I saw that the surface was rough to the touch. It had the texture of a cast iron pan. I figured it must work, though. Well, everything stuck right to it. I was disappointed that I'd have to go back to using oil. I applied a nice coating of oil and started again. Everything still stuck. It was a real mess. As for cleanup, it's a nightmare. The oil got baked onto that rough surface and turned into that sticky brown goo you get sometimes on your glass bakeware. Not only that, it was impossible to completely remove the goo. I would wash the griddle by hand over and over again, only to find more brown goo rubbing off onto my dish towel when I dried it. I tried the griddle for 2 weeks and then took it out to the garbage can. I have since bought a #38510 Hamilton Beach StepSavor Jumbo Griddle and I love it. I am back to cooking without any added oil and cleanup is super easy. If you like to cook pancakes, eggs and french toast on your griddle, stick with Hamilton Beach for the best results.

After reading comments from other reviewers I was a little worried about uneven cooking when I ordered this, but in my experience (with pancakes) the difference in coloration was very minor between areas that were directly above the heating element and areas that weren't. I usually leave a good 5-10 mins for the griddle to heat up before I start cooking, so maybe if you throw the pancakes on right away after the minimum amount of warmup time you would get problems with uneven cooking, but personally I haven't experienced it. With cooking other things like grilled cheese sandwiches, there is no difference in coloration whatsoever between what was over the heating element and what wasn't. I followed the directions about "seasoning" the non-stick surface with canola oil before the first time I used it, and so far NOTHING sticks to this thing. It's been very easy to clean. Overall I love it, and compared to the price of other griddles out there I'm very happy with my purchase. It makes about six pancakes or sandwiches at a time, so I can easily produce food for 4-6 people faster than they can possibly eat it. The only negative is that, like other reviewers have mentioned, the legs on this griddle tend to slide across the countertop surface very easily. I solved it with a pack of 1/2" adhesive rubber feet I bought for $2.49 (similar to these: Waxman 4215395N 1/2-Inch Heavy Duty Bumper, Clear, Round), but despite how easy it was to fix this, it's really something Presto should have corrected before production so shame on them for that. Still, I would recommend this griddle to anyone in the market for a new one. I love it.

I picked up this griddle here for $20 and it was worth every single penny. I treated it with oil as was recommended in manual and have had absolutely no problems with sticking. It cleans easily and is large enough for quite alot of stuff. It heats quickly and evenly and has allowed me to make some quite spectacular meals.

Things I've cooled on it so far:

Eggs (over-easy)

Bacon (wonderful)

Grilled cheese

Hamburgers

Pork chops

Steaks

Tuna steaks

Cod fillets

Everything has come out wonderfully.

The only negative thing I have to say about it agrees with a few other reviewers. As sold, it has a tendency to slide around on the counter, which would be somewhat dangerous without precautions. However, it is trivial to deal with. I simply put a towel underneath. Walla ... no more sliding. For a real solution, just go to Home Depot and get some small rubber feet for $1.50.

All-in-all, this is the best $20 I have every spent on a kitchen appliance.

I bought this as a Christmas/birthday present for myself and it's exactly what I wanted it to be. You MUST season these pans, though. Just a bit of vegetable oil after heating the pans to a low temp keeps food from sticking. Also, I'm only washing them by hand to both keep them looking nice and to avoid immersing them in all that soapy water. You really just need a TINY bit of soap to clean them after each use. On the downside, I do find myself using just a BIT more oil than usual, but if you're cooking with healthy oils it's barely noticeable, and certainly isn't enough to change the taste of the food. I'm a vegetarian, and so I don't have cause to use these for cooking meat, but I'm sure they would do just fine. If you take care of them, they'll take great care of your food.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I love the cookware. I have the whole set. It works great over medium heat. I suggest medium to medium lw. Even so give it thumbs up

I've had this pan about a month now and it's become my go-to. Very even heating but still light enough to handle one handed for transferring and flipping. Sticking is not a factor as long as you remember to not just chuck things straight from the fridge into it, let them come up to room temperature first, especially eggs. Cleanup is a cinch, I recommend some stainless steel scouring balls, which have yet to affect the surface finish of the pan.
