Scanpan Classic Double-Burner Grill Griddle

Scanpan Classic Double-Burner Grill GriddleScanpan's double burner grill griddle far exceeded my expectations and is now my favorite way to cook meat and fish. It's quick, easy, and siphons off excess fat. Plus the teflon-free non-stick properties make it easy to clean. I put it in the dishwasher.

I've had this pan for a few years and have used it a lot for grilling and then broiling. I never used metal with it, and I never put it in the dishwasher. Despite Scanpan's claims I treated it like a fragile nonstick pan. After a few months of use -two times a week a least -it developed patches of gunk in the ridges that simply could not be scrubbed off (with bristle brush or nylon scrubber). It got uglier and uglier. After a year I noticed that the nonstick coating began to chip at the tops of the ridges. Again, I never used metal. I finally gave up and put it in the dishwasher to give it a good cleaning, but this only seemed to discolor it and exacerbate the chipping. Now, when I use it (and I still use it sometimes), I find there's a graphite-like film on the bottom that gets on my hands. So this thing seems to be disintegrating when it should have been indestructible given the price. Maybe I should have kept it out of the broiler. I guess I could test Scanpan's no-fault warranty. But all the chipping and scum and film makes me nervous about what it might be adding to my food, so I will be switching to Lodge.

You can't go wrong with this grill. Cooks evenly and very fast. Really does not stick. Easy to clean. I grill veggies (string beans, asparagus, eggplant, squash, zucchini), fish, burgers, chicken, steaks, shrimp...etc. It is perfection. I use it a few times a week and I love it.

Ceramic Marble Coated Cast Aluminium Non Stick Square Grill Pan Skillet 28cm(11 inches)

Ceramic Marble Coated Cast Aluminium Non Stick Square Grill Pan Skillet 28cm(11 inches)I love these pans. very easy to clean and nothing stick to them. this one in great for grilling steak, chicken or a sandwich.

I had been looking for quite some time for a square griddle pan. My existing cookware was Teflon and I just don't want to use that type any more. I have been gradually replacing them with ceramic cookware and that's what I wanted in my new griddle. But, whoa...are they ever expensive! The cheapest I could find was around $50-60 and even that was steep for me. When I came across information on this Ceramic Marble coated grill pan I wasn't too sure about it. I wanted my pan to be at least 11" so I could fix 4 pieces of bread at a time, which this one is. I liked that. This pan has the raised grills on the bottom and I thought I wanted it flat and mine did NOT have the high sides. So, this was going to be a change for me. Since I have now been using it, I just LOVE IT. All my concerns are gone. I now like the raised bottom and the higher sides and it's the perfect size. I use it for grilled cheese, chicken, stir fry...just about anything I need a larger skillet for. And I like the grill marks the raised bottom gives your food. I have had no sticking issues and the pan is not too heavy that I can't pour off liquids. It would have been nice to have a square top that fit it, but my large round graduated lid pretty much does the trick. What can I say, I really do enjoy using this pan. It's becoming my favorite go-to pan.

I recommend this pan unequivocally! Grills and sears perfectly and it cleans in a heartbeat! It's reasonably light-weight as well, which is important for those of us with severe arthritis.

I have had this a little over a month and I have 2 other 10 inch skillets that are marble coated and they are all awesome. Going to buy more. Seasoned them by directions that I found online for other aluminum skillets and I have had no problem! No scratches, no sticking and no problem cleaning up.

Optimus F-4092 9-Inch Industrial-Grade High-Velocity 3-Speed Fan

Optimus F-4092 9-Inch Industrial-Grade High-Velocity 3-Speed FanThis was good for the price, however it broke down within 1 year of continuous service. It moves quite a lot of flow when working. It vibrates a bit a and a bit noisy.

Industrial strength....high velocity....I should have checked the dimensions, I was thinking it was going to be bigger! Then this tiny box arrives and it's this little desk fan, which doesn't work for my intended purpose (to blow hair back in the photo shoots) unless I stood about a foot in front of my model. Whoops! So my husband uses it out in the garage to help blow cigarette smoke out through the window. At least we found a use for it. :)

I was drawn to this fan because it was "Industrial Grade", but don't be misled, it is not for use in industrial work areas. It is a "household use only" fan. Otherwise, I'm sure it works fine.

Cuisinart GR-3 Griddler Jr 3-in-1 Nonstick Countertop Grill

Cuisinart GR-3 Griddler Jr 3-in-1 Nonstick Countertop GrillBefore deciding to buy the Griddler Jr. I called Cuisinart (and got someone on the line within a few minutes) to ask about the wattage rating of this product, which I could not find listed on Cuisinart's site or in the manual for this product (which is available in PDF format at their site). It's 1200 watts. The GR-4, which I guess is Griddler "Senior," is rated at 1500 watts. The tiny Hamilton Beach indoor grill (with NON-removable grills) that I used before getting the Griddler Jr. is rated at 750 watts.

According to an article titled "Grill Power" in the February, 2006 issue of Prevention Magazine, Steven Raichlen, host of Barbecue University on PBS, says, "The lower the wattage [of indoor electric grills], the less likely your meat will taste like it came from an outdoor barbecue. It'll taste like it was steamed, instead." The author of the article, Amanda Pressner, suggests choosing an indoor electric grill "at least 1000 to 1500 watts. Smaller appliances usually use around 750 watts; that won't get hot enough to really brown your food or apply grill marks."

So far I have cooked chicken, salmon, lean ground beef burgers, petite sirloin steaks, vegetables, panini, chicken quesadillas, beef quesadillas, plain old grilled cheese sandwiches, and Oscar Mayer Turkey Smoked Sausage on my Griddler Jr. Boneless chicken breasts come out juicy really juicy with serious grill marks and tasting great. Panini wow; comes out great. Quesadillas come out great, with grill marks, and they go straight to the table nice and hot.

Before learning about the importance of wattage, my main reason for wanting to upgrade from the Hamilton Beach to the Cuisinart Griddler Jr. was because the Griddler Jr. has removable grills to facilitate easy cleaning. But the Griddler Jr. has so much more going for it... With it's stainless finish (all of the exterior but the handle and base are stainless steel), it's a handsome kitchen appliance. If your kitchen has room for it, you'll want to leave it out where it can be seen. It's "floating lid" allows you to get a thick piece of poultry or meat inside it or a thick sandwich or panini, and the top and bottom grills will make even contact with whatever is being cooked. And although this is the "Jr." sized model, it is a good size. The surfaces of the grills measure (by my own measurements) 7 1/8 X 11 1/8. The entire unit, when you include the handle, etc., fits in a footprint that is approximately 13 X 12.

The Griddler Jr. has a red "on" light to the left of the heat control knob, and a green light to the right that comes on when the grills have reached the setting you've turned the knob to. At the highest setting, the grills get very hot. I find that I can cook a panini so that it is hot on the outside with melted cheese and warm to hot insides in about 6 minutes after the green light comes on, with the dial set to the medium temperature setting. Cooking a boneless chicken breast at that setting takes about 10-12 minutes (I use a fork-type battery operated thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken).

It is so easy to clean. When done cooking with it, turn the knob to the off position, unplug the unit, and leave it open to cool while you eat. After 30 minutes the unit is completely cool and the grills can be easily removed for washing, and if all you've cooked is panini and there's not a big mess on the grills, they can probably be wiped clean without removing them.

Before getting the Griddler Jr., I ordered a full size Griddler model GR-4 from Amazon's Warehouse Deals, where it was sold at a reduced price and listed as an open box unit. When I received it the handle was broken, and so I returned it. Getting to see it made me realize that it was larger than what I needed, and I didn't really need the two-sided grills that the GR-4 comes with. I mention this because it is obvious that both the full size Griddler and the Griddler Jr. are manufactured up to the same high standards. The Griddler Jr. is just that, a junior or smaller and less functional version of its parent (less functional in that it doesn't have reversible grills), as opposed to a lower quality version. The same high quality is there.

I love it. I'm so glad I got it. I'd recommend it without hesitation to anyone who is in the market for an indoor grill.

I'd been looking at panini grills for years, but had never found the perfect model. Many of the grills I looked at in stores seemed very cheap and poorly built. One clear exception was the Cuisinart grill, which was very well constructed, but it was very expensive and also very large. When I saw this new Cuisinart Junior, I decided to take the plunge. It has become the hit of our kitchen. Making fancy grilled sandwiches has become a highlight of our weekends. My teenage kids love the sandwiches off the grill, and they don't seem to notice that they're eating healthier than before. The quality of panini sandwiches off this little grill is far superior to the paninis we get at our local restaurants.

Here are the features that make this grill a winner for me:

The grill plates really are nonstick. I've never had to do more than wipe them clean, even when drippings seem to have burned on. The plates remove super easily, and also snap back in very easily.

The grill pre-heats very quickly. I turn it on before I start making the sandwich, and it's always hot enough by the time the sandwich is assembled.

The grill always creates the perfectly grilled panini. When I used to make grilled sandwiches in a frying pan, getting them perfectly grilled without burning was hit or miss. With this grill, I just set the dial a bit shy of medium and every sandwich comes out perfectly grilled.

The hinged lid let's us make fairly huge sandwiches (a few inches thick). This might not sound like a big deal, but it's key to having fun with the grill, since it let's you make creative sandwiches that you could never cook all the way through or flip in a frying pan.

The small size is perfect. It cooks one very large or two smaller panini, and it doesn't take up a ton of counter space. It's small enough that I can leave it out all the time, which makes it a lot more convenient to use.

One thing to be careful of: The lid does get hot. Make sure you only use the handle for opening and closing. I wouldn't let younger kids work the grill by themselves.

I have not tried cooking meat with the grill. We use it strictly as a panini grill.

I don't generally get excited about kitchen appliances, but this little grill is downright fun. Any gadget that can get my teenagers psyched about going to the grocery store to find wacky things they can turn into grilled sandwiches is a hit in my book. (BTW, our favorite sandwiches so far are: tomato and fresh mozzarela with basil pesto; chicken, apple, and raspberry with provolone; and pear with brie. My apologies if I'm not spelling some of these foods right.)

Great purchase. Getting used more heavily than our stove. I'm hooked.

The grill has a modern brushed stainless steel finish that will fit in well with any kitchen. It is compact, light in weight, but heats up quickly to the appropriate temperature. Veggies, fish, chicken and steak cook evenly and quickly. It toasts panini's well even with the thickest bread and a multitude of fillings. The plates snap out easily so you can pop them into your sink or dishwasher and the plastic cleaning tool is well designed to let you get into the grooves and remove any grease. The only draw back is if you are grilling a large steak some of the grease may miss the drip cup and drip down the front of the unit, but I guess that's why sponges were invented. All in all a fine product that is useful in any kitchen.

Read Best Reviews of Cuisinart GR-3 Griddler Jr 3-in-1 Nonstick Countertop Grill Here

The unit is small enough to fit almost anywhere. It cooks very well and sometimes too well if you have the heat on too high. I have used it to cook steaks, pork chops, hamburgers, bacon, sausages and grilled cheese sandwiches. And if you like hash browns but want to avoid immersing it in grease (bad for cholesterol!), get the shredded type and cook it in this unit. Works very well!

If the bacon is too long, you may have to cut it in half (minor irritation) to fit but otherwise it does a great job.

The main problem as others have pointed out ... GREASE DRIPPINGS! ... Aaaargh! Those drip cups are next to useless! They could have at least done two things to make it better. Design the DRIP spouts (where the grease drips from)a bit longer with a better lip or design the drip cups higher so it fits perfectly under the drip spouts.

The reason they didn't is because the metal gets hot that the plastic will melt if it touches the plates. I know cause I toasted one of my plastic measuring cups. So, why not make the drip cups out of metal?

Other than that, the unit works very well! But cleaning the grease all over the counter and especially under the unit can be very aggravating if one has to do it after every use. #@$!%$# and more explatives!

Inspite of that I gave it four stars simply because it works well and best of all, it's easy to clean the removable plates! Wait till it's cool, run it through some hot water while brushing it lightly with a soft brush with some dish soap .. dry it and you're done!

Addendum: (12-22-2009)

In regards to the drip spouts, I think that had they made it another 1/4" longer and angled it down, it would help in avoiding the drippings from running underneath the spout and down against the unit.

I just bought my Griddler Jr. yesterday and tried it out. It's very well made, and my panini sandwiches turned out great. It can also be opened flat to use a a regular grill. The best thing though is that the grill plates are removable for easy cleanup.

High Pressure Brass Orifice for Single Burners

High Pressure Brass Orifice for Single BurnersThis High Pressure Brass Orifice seems to be an excelent product. I have not tried it yet. Although, it fits the Bayou classic SP10 perfectly.

Works perfect in a bayou bg10 high pressure burner. Between the two you get a perfect clear blue flame and a bunch of BTUs. All I did was adapt from my 1/2 inch black pipe to the 3/8 flare fitting and it worked like a charm.

These are made for Banjo burners, NOT hurricane burners. I bought these for my brewing setup and they did not fit. The orifice size is also too small for a 10 inch burner.

Nordic Ware 365 Indoor/Outdoor Grill-Steam-Bake Multi Cooker

Nordic Ware 365 Indoor/Outdoor Grill-Steam-Bake Multi CookerDo you like to cook fish on the grill? If you do, this is the best cookware for doing it. I put the fish in it, put the top on, and with the holes on the bottom it goes right on the hot grill. Have cooked salmon, cod, grouper, etc in it. 5 to 10 minutes (depending on the fish and size) and done. Perfect every time and so easy to clean up.

I bought this item at my local Kroger store at the beginning of the summer (was a couple of dollars less than what Amazon currently has it listed for) and I love it! My favorite use for it is cooking fish in the oven. A little Pam in the bottom to keep the fish from sticking, 400 degrees for about 20 minutes in the oven, and it is perfect every time. Tonight I made some sea bass, and it was amazing! I have also used it to cook vegetables on both the grill and the oven. I have not tried cooking any type of meat in it, nor have I tried the steam method, so I don't know how well it works for that. But, the pan is sturdy, easy to clean, and so far is holding up well. It's definitely one of my favorite kitchen items.

Buy Nordic Ware 365 Indoor/Outdoor Grill-Steam-Bake Multi Cooker Now

Non-stick coating is as durable as tissue paper.

I only used this once, to grill some salmon. I didn't use any metal utensils, and was gentle about placing it on the grill. When I washed it and looked at it later, it had 3-4 scratches. They weren't deep, but they were enough that they pulled the coating right off. I prefer not to have non-stick coating in my food so I had to return it.

As far as how it performed, it did really well. My fish came out perfect. You can also use this to bake in the oven and poach. Very useful little cooker. I was really bummed about the durability, it's such a great idea, just uses poor quality materials.

Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less TRU Infrared Turkey Fryer

Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less TRU Infrared Turkey FryerWe have been "Deep Frying" turkeys in oil for nearly two decades and I must say that the "Big Easy" is an AWESOME piece of equipment!

We received a call from a friend in Cajun country and he told us that we should buy the Big Easy. We bought it from Amazon back in Feb 2008. We did not use the fryer until yesterday, for Thanksgiving. We were shocked! It was easy to use and there is hardly anything to clean up . If you follow the directions, you will not go wrong. Before we used the fryer, I went to the Charbroil site and read the tips and updated information concerning the fryer.

You only have to do this the first time you use the fryer:

1. After you put the fryer together, DO NOT put anything in the fryer other than the basket and turn on the fryer for 15 minutes.

2. After the fryer has cooled, spray Pam in the fryer, place the basket in the fryer and turn on the fryer for 10 mins.

3. After the fryer has cooled, put some olive or peanut oil on a paper towel and rub the oil on the basket. Place your season turkey in the basket and turn on the fryer. Make sure the turkey legs are pointing down or resting in the bottom of the basket and keep the metal brace that keeps the turkey legs together intact.

** Each time the fryer is used, repeat step three (Oiling the basket).**

Tip:

If you cover the turkey with olive oil, the turkey will darken so if you like the blacken turkey or dark turkey, coat the turkey with oil. Do not put oil on the wing tips because the tip will burn quicker. If you use olive oil, do not place the cover on the fryer and in fact you really don't need to put the lid on at all. I did not put oil on the back of the turkey just to compare the color of the turkey. You don't need to put oil on the turkey because the turkey will have a pretty brown color without the oil.

Pull the skin back from the breast, place the season under the skin (Dried & Fresh), garlic, onion, etc use your imagination. Pull the skin back in place and season the inside of the turkey. While the turkey is in the basket, I placed half a lemon in the top of the turkey along with fresh rosemary, mint etc.

The garlic did not get mushy as it retained its shape but it was easy to smash. I smashed it with two fingers, placed it on top of the turkey and ate it. It was heavenly! The lemon came out juicy so I squeezed the lemon on the turkey. It was good! The lemon nor the spices did not over power the turkey as it gave a good flavor. The next time I think I will juice the lemon, puree the seasons and rub the turkey inside and out as well as place more whole garlic cloves in the turkey. The season does not burn.

On Thanksgiving, we fried two turkeys, one with oil and one with the Big Easy. The skin was crisp as you cannot tell the difference between the oil fried turkey and the Big Easy turkey. In fact, the white meat held more moisture than the deep fried turkey. We compared the two and the Big Easy won hands down. The Big Easy is healthier than the oil fried turkey. The juice pan collected the drippings, we chilled the drippings, removed the fat so it can be frozen in cubes for a later day. The turkey did not stick to the basket. When you purchase the Big Easy, the savings from not having to buy peanut oil is something that you do not have to buy.

Charbroil has accessories for the Big Easy at their website. I recommend the Big Easy and FOLLOW the direction!

This is a great cooking tool! It takes about 15-20 minutes to assemble (unfortunate, but I'm sure it reduces the cost to the consumer as well). The craftsmanship isn't A-grade because of sharp edges and such, but overall it is sturdy enough to seem like it will last a long time.

I wanted to test it out before Thanksgiving, so I bought a 12 lbs turkey to try it out. The turkey took about 2 hours and 15 minutes to cook, which is a little longer than their estimated time (the outside temperature was rather low at 30 degrees F).

The result? Delicious. The skin was nice and crispy, and the inside meat was extremely moist.

The fryer is easy to use, and it can be used for cooking all kinds of meats. I'm really excited to cook a bigger bird on Thursday!

Buy Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less TRU Infrared Turkey Fryer Now

First, The Big Easy (TBE) cooks much faster than a "regular" turkey fryer. From start to finish, a turkey in TBE takes a total time of about 8-10 minutes per pound plus about 10-15 minutes to clean (by leaving it on) and a few minutes to cool down. Traditional oil frying may take much less time per pound but you have to heat the oil for an hour and then you have several hours of cooling, disposal, and cleaning time remaining.

TBE not only gives you the same crispy skin and incredibly moist flesh as traditional frying but you can also -

use a dry rub without having it wash off in the oil

put some "savories" in the cavity

use fine wood chips for a light smoke flavor

make "beer can chicken" or similar recipes

baste during cooking

I've also used it for chicken (whole & parts), duck. leg of lamb, and various cuts of pork & beef and had great results every time.

The only problems I've heard about usually have to do with improper assembly, usually not seating the propane valve properly inside the burner tube to allow for proper gas flow. Other than that, it's pretty much idiot-proof. I'd also recommend you get a decent thermometer (I have a digital with remote alarm) the one supplied by Char Broil isn't all that accurate.

I've been eating and cooking fried turkey since I was a kid in Louisiana (some 50 years ago when we used cut-down 55 gallon drums and fried the turkey until it floated). I'm totally sold on The Big Easy; it may well be the best cooking tool since cast iron.

Good idea and makes great turkeys when it works. I bought this a few months ago, used it 3 times before the bottom fell out of the stainless steel container (that you insert into the fire chamber)and this caused a small grease fire in the unit. Upon closer inspection the container is cheaply tack welded together and will come apart after a few uses. I have confirmed this flaw with another BIG EASY owner who also is having the same problem with the tack welds. Warranty is only 3 months on this product so it will last only one season if you are lucky. Char-Broil needs to look at their quality control concerning critical components with respect to this product since this could be a potential safety hazard.

Want Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less TRU Infrared Turkey Fryer Discount?

I've cooked three 15 lb turkeys since getting this cooker before Thanksgiving. All have come out perfect. I brined all three overnight, and inserted the thermometer in the thickest part of the breast during cooking. No un-cooked areas.

I also did a traditionally fried turkey on Thanksgiving so we could do a taste test. You cannot duplicate the exact taste of a fried turkey with this cooker, but all agreed it tasted great. Even at twice the cook time of frying, this cooker uses much less propane as it is a low flame in an enclosed area. And no oil to deal with!

I did two birds at Christmas. We then cooked down the carcasses into a stock that included the drippings from the bottom of the cooker, and made a great turkey gumbo. I recently cooked a couple of chickens, and will next try a pork loin. I may never fry a turkey again. It looks like my old rig will go back to just boiling crawfish.

My only complaint is that it comes with a basket, and then Char-broil wants you to buy the hinged "Easy Out" basket as an accessory for $20. They should have made the original basket an easy out. It is a pain trying to get a hot, 15 pound turkey out of the basket.

Other than that, it was a great buy.

George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine GR7BLK

George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine GR7BLKOur first George Foreman appliance was the two slice toaster shown in the product picture of the George Foreman GR36BWC Jumbo Size Plus Grill, Silver with Double Bonus. We were very satisfied with the toaster and thought we would give this grilling machine a try. I'm glad we did. This is a great little indoor grill when just cooking for one or two people. We have used it for hamburgers and hotdogs and have been very satisfied with the tasty results. Drains the fat but leaves the flavor! Clean up is a breeze. Great for those days when it's too hot, rainy or cold to grill outside. ~ The Boss

It's a nice little grill but I think it's too hot, it really singes the outside of meats like hamburgers and sausages. Doesn't get the middle hot enough if you don't like charcoal on the outside.

Thanks to my mother, I was gifted this item.

First trial, I chose a pair of small pork tenderloins.

Both were perfect.

So far, so very good.

Cooking BBQ Grill Oil Brush w/ Container Red #9461

Cooking BBQ Grill Oil Brush w/ Container Red #9461we bought this to oil (season) our cast iron immediately after we wash it. It works great because we used to waste so much paper towel since we would dribble some oil and use a papertowel to spread it around the cast iron. Now no more wasting paper towels and I just use this brush and leave it near by. Great product for this.

Lodge Logic L10SK3 12-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet

I like this for spreading oil in a skillet -but I found that if you try to wash the brush, then the fibers get loose and spread lint along with the oil. So a silicone brush is probably more practical.

This item was received in new, high quality condition, on time. I have 2 of these. I also bought a set of 2 different colored Brushes as I use one for my Olive Oil and one for my Avocado Oil. This saves on oil usage as Avocado is quite expensive though I enjoy cooking with it as it has a very high smoking, burning point, 489% Degrees, It also absorbs the flavor of the food. I like to cook in cast Iron which makes food taste better and the food obsorb's some of the iron when cooking and I usually cook on a medium to medium high heat. Note/ , Olive Oil has about a 375 to 385 smoking point and it does not take much to destroy the Health goodness of it. Avocado Oil is also high in Health benefits.
