Plastic Marinade Injector Volume: 2 Ounces

I adore this lil' pup, all stainless steel, and built to last. I sharpened the end slightly for better results. This isn't a throw away item like many others at Amazon are [at about $9 a pop]. This litle injector will give your grilled meats that something extra. I also use it on firm fleshed fish (say that 3 times!) as well as poultry cutlets & fryers (whole turkey or turkey breast). This tool really makes the difference in the flavor and I enjoy the raves when I have guests over, lol!

Though a tad bit pricey,this unit is well built. Too, it could've come with a finer tip included. This product works well as long as you don't have real thick marinade to use. Sometimes it is hard to poke into the meat but if you can somehow make the point a little sharper then it works great. It is a good quality meat injector.

When I purchased this I was not aware the point was rounded, unlike virtually every other injector on the market. I used this on chicken and it was hard to penetrate the skin. It might work better on meat.

When I tried to clean the needle, the injector would not pull any water. Fortunately, the unit contained an extra o-ring (now I understand why). Once I replaced the o-ring (after one use) it worked.

I called the manufacturer to get another o-ring, and was told that none were available, nor would any become available. The customer service rep advised that I buy another unit if I wanted an o-ring. Right.

Don't waste your money on this.

8/1/12 update: I purchased a Butterball brand injector and have used it once on a pork butt. It has a sharp tip, offset needle holes and best of all nylon o-rings. Much better injector than this product.

9/22/12 update: I've used the Butterball injector several times now and it works great. Far superior.

I was at first skeptical about this LED but after receiving it and testing it I was like WOOOWWWW COOLLLL......these really do light up very bright. Only thing why I didn't give it 5 stars is because it only came with the female end of the connector. I will need to either cut the connector or buy the male connector because I don't have any that fit. But other than that it's really nice.

I will be buying some more.....

Although I usually clean after the grill has cooled off, occasionally I want to use it while the grill is hot. It's long enough and the grip is comfortable to hold. The brush wires are a little longer which helps do a good job of cleaning.

It's also got the "lip" at the end which assists in lifting the grill plate. Very handy. I like the wooden handle. The only thing I would change is adding a loop on the end to hang. I added my own!

I purchased this for my husband who is an avid griller. We seem to go through grill brushes very quickly because of their poor quality. So far I'm satisfied with this purchase and imagine it will be our go-to grill brush for now on since we'll only have to replace the head instead of the entire unit.

Have been wanting to try some beer-can chicken and found this product. I seen on YouTube that you don't need anything and the can can hold it up however... having this Beer-can Roaster makes it very easy and worry free in terms of it falling over. NORDIC WARES 365 INDOOR/OUTDOOR BEER CAN MARINADE CHICKEN ROASTER is well made and should hold any chicken upright well, for beer can roasting. BUT, I tried using it in Weber's 22.5" Gold grill and the grill, top inside of the lid to the surface of the wire rack isn't deep enough to hold the chicken and close. The grill top itself rests on and slides off any chicken sitting on the Nordic Ware 365 roaster. BUMMER, and, I believe it may well be the same for any beer can roaster I might purchase for use in the Weber Grill. I'll shop a little to try another. Otherwise I'm sure this product should do the job its advertised to do. RSBlain

OvenChek Cooking Surface Thermometer

I have owned this 'cooking surface' thermometer for a couple of years. I use it to figure out whether the grill is hot enough to put the food on but I don't usually leave it on the grill for extended periods. I take it off when I put the food on. I also use it to calibrate my electric skillet and the surface of pans on my electric stove. If you leave this on your grill forever, all the time, even while the food is cooking, it probably won't last as long as mine has lasted.

Gee now that I'm doing this review, I remember how much I really like this thermometer. I'll be ordering another as a gift for a new cook who could use one.

When I received my new KitchenAid Grill this year, I realized that it did not have a thermometer built into the cover. This grill surface thermometer helps to overcome this limitation. The grill cranks out 67,000 BTUs and this thermometer can "almost" handle it. It reports up to 700 degrees, and I easily exceed its reporting range. It still works, even after these extreme temperatures. However, the red dye that is on its face is now a brown color, perhaps it was can designed for this type of heat.

I leave it on the grill all the time. Its face is splashed with the juices from the steaks, and it is still working. It also has condensation inside the face after a cold day, but it still is working.

I need to point out that I used it less than a dozen times over the last 1 month. This is a short-term review.

June 2006 Update -

The thermometer has lost its color from the heat of the grill. It is filled with condensation. The face is so discolored that it can not be read. I am disappointed that it only lasted about 5 months, and now it goes in the trash.

I use it in my charbroil electric smoker. I keep it right on the cooking grate, while my food is smoking. I have to wipe it down after each use, to keep the smoke from building up on the unit, but that's to be expected.

The overall build quality seems great, but just after a couple of uses the glass and the numbers started to become unreadable. It seems that it cannot survive the high heat that my grill is generating (~600 degrees).

Great idea. I was excited to get this thermometer. I put it in an empty frying pan with the gas on high. After four minutes, the Teflon started gassing, indicating it was over 550F, but the thermometer only said 160F. Tested it in boiling water by putting the bottom only in the water, reading was accurate. then put it on the sink. After five minutes, the reading had dropped from 208F (our elevation is 3200 feet) to 150F. The problem is that this thing takes forever to change its reading. It is the slowest thermometer that I have ever seen. If I had waited for this thing to register 400F, my $40 pan would likely have melted. Great idea, useless product. Save your money.

The Nexus 10 fits into the case fairly well. There is a little sliding which does not affect the functionality. Appreciate the automatic sleep and awake feature. Agree that the lack of a hand strap as advertised is disappointing. Appears to be well made, protects the tablet well, and the variety of colors is difficult to find for the Nexus 10.

Not well constructed. Obstructs back camera. Handel does not hold it in right position. Slightly bigger than Nexus 10 which slips and slides in the case.

The case does not include an elastic hand strap like stated in the product description. This is probably for the best, because the elastic loop for the stylus is stretched out after only 2 days of use. I am returning it and going to buy the same product for $13.00 less. The hand strap was the only reason i purchased this case. I was just looking for a cost effective solution to get me by untill Google releases their case.

We are full time rv'ers and this is exactly what we needed for the campgrounds who do not have fire pits at each site. This is the perfect size, sets up quickly, tears down quickly and stores neatly and easily in it's bag. Perfect!

I purchased this fire pit to take along in our RV and its size was small enough to fit in the storage area below the motorhome. When we first put it together, it seemed very small but we went ahead and used it. It holds a couple of wood logs and it does do the job (our grandkids had their smores!). I would recommend this fire pit if you travel with it and want to store it in limited space. It is also convenient that it folds flat. The price is a bit high, but it does look like it is made well and it should last a long time. We are happy with this purchase.

I bought this fire pit to take with me on my RV trips. First of all, it folds up nicely inside a nylon bag that holds everything. The legs fold out and lock for a sturdy feel. It has a nice screen top to contain any sparks. It is made to also use as a grill but I don't plan on cooking on it. I just want to use it for ambiance reasons. It was easy to clean after use. This is a nice portable fire pit that can be used as a grill or just to sit around and enjoy the flames of a nice fire.

We took this fire pit to a recent camping trip in the mountains. Comparing to the size of typical fire logs you can purchase, this fire pit was relatively small but not too small to ruin the experience. Our conventional fire logs of size about 22" x 4" couldn't completely fit inside the bowl, which made us think about being creative and supporting the top two logs with another smaller one that sat under them. This is why I gave it a four out of five stars: after the first round of fire, the bottom grid holding the support log was bent downward, due to the heat and the weight of the logs. While not a big deal, it would be nice if the grids were of better quality and thicker material.

The quality is on the better side of typical products out there however it's not the best. The folding legs are well-designed and stable with three spring pull-out pins that makes setting this thing up a breeze. The bottom of the pit and the edge are about 8" and 15" above the ground respectively so there is a maximum of 7" more or less inside the pit to play with. However the distance between the bottom grid -sitting on the bottom of the bowl to hold the logs -and the top grid -sitting slightly inside the bowl as well for grilling -is a bit on the smaller size (about 3") so there is almost no way you can grill something with some quality logs still burning. However after an hour or so of enjoying the fire, we managed to fit the grill on top of the remaining charred wood and boil some water for a nice round of hot tea. The top lid is hard to fit when there are logs in the pit.

The bottom line is that considering the price, the quality, and the portability, this is a very good fire pit for 2 to 4 people. Make sure you cut your logs into smaller pieces to maximize your experience.

Weber Stainless Steel Grill Pan

This received top ratings from America's Test Kitchen (Cooking Illustrated & Cook's Kitchen). I was skeptical because I have tried about a dozen different grill pans in the 18 months, but none have really worked. This is the best I have used yet.

One was a square-ish pan and the corners snapped and became unusable. A common problem with many pans; they are welded and not stamped or folded. The welds usually break due to the high heat in the grill.

My old favorite is a bowl style; it's decent, but the problem is the top is bigger than the bottom so there is not a lot of actual grilling space. As a result you either have steamed veggies or you have to keep stirring.

The biggest complaint I have about most grill pans is the holes. Either they are too big and things like cherry tomatoes and sliced onions fall through, or the holes are too small. Small holes have many problems: difficult to clean, too many and the food gets too charred, too many holes and the metal separating the holes breaks...etc.

This pan is the best pan I have used yet. It it made of one piece with NO welds; the sides are bent up to create a lip and give the user an edge to flip and turn food. Also, the holes are not actually holes, they are slits. This means that one does not have to worry about food slipping through the spaces; from time to time sliced onions get stuck, but not really a BIG deal. It works great for Portabella mushrooms though it is not just for veggies, it's great for fish. Another big seller is that this is stainless and easy-ish to clean. It's not going to be non-stick easy to clean, you will have to scrub, but with a Brillo pad and elbow grease it's not a big deal.

The only complaint I have is the size. I have a two burner grill (unless I can talk my wife into getting a new grill next summer) and the pan can be a little too big for this type of grill. This "complaint" is not that big of a complaint since I usually don't do veggies at the same time as the meat.

If Weber updates this pan, I would recommend making it available in a smaller size and upgrading the metal; it's a little light weight. It's not bad, a little more heft would be nice.

If you have a grilling fanatic in your family (even if it's you) then buy this pan. It's great! You won't be disappointed. Get this pan.

When I was growing up in the Midwest the outdoor grill meant only one thing, MEAT! Fortunately people are becoming more sophisticated in what they choose to grill. Now it is not unusual to find fish, shrimp, mushrooms, asparagus, you name it, cooking right next to burgers and steaks.

The only problem is, of course, smaller foods can drop through the grill and onto the fire. I have purchased screens and disposable grill pans before and they worked just okay. When I saw this pan and how reasonable it was priced I had to get it.

I like the build of this pan, very heavy-duty without being too thick. The raised sides keep the food from falling off and makes the pan easy to carry. It takes a little effort to clean (I use a SOS pad) but that is to be expected.

I use a small Weber--the Q200-and it is just big enough for cooking for 4-5 people. This grill pan fits perfectly on it but if I want to cook both meat and veggies at the same time I would need a bigger grill. I thought that I would make this little video to show the pan in action. Thank you!

Best grill pan ever. Raised edges keep everything in the pan. Small openings in the bottom of the pan makes certain that nothing falls through. Big handles make it easy to move around the grill. I've been grilling for 37 years and this is the best grill pan I have ever used.

This pan saved our grill! We have a low-end gas grill that was given to me and my husband as a Christmas gift. No matter what settings we tried it would either burn the food or leave it raw. With this pan, we can turn the heat up to where it should be and the food doesn't burn! The only downside is that it is a bear to clean. Other people have recommended Easy Oven Off but I haven't tried that yet.

At the time I purchased this, the product description on Amazon incorrectly stated the dimensions as 14 x 11 inches in one place, and 17 x 11 x 1 inches in another. These are both wrong. When I received it, it stated clearly on the package that this grill pan is 13.5" x 18.5" x 1.5", which incidentally won't fit on my grill. I've submitted the correction to Amazon, but in the meantime buyer beware.
