Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Forged Stainless and Packwood Dual Handle Grill Brush
Buy Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Forged Stainless and Packwood Dual Handle Grill Brush Now
Heavy gauge stainless with full grip. Handles well and does the job for a reasonable price. At some point in time we will be glad we got the replacement brush, appears it will hold up well. Grill year round so its gets used.Well made stainless grill implements. We own the brush shown here and the long stainless tongs. I consider the tools avery good value. The bristles are not brass as advertised in the Amazon description. This is going back as my grill manufacturer says to use only brass bristles.Otherwise, the construction is SOLID and the wood handle is very nice. If you don't need brass bristles, this is a great brush.

Weber 6432 Silicone Basting Brush
This is a very reasonably priced well built tool and it is big and heavy. I've no doubt that if the circumstances were right, you could use it as some sort of defensive weapon. But of course that is not what you buy it for. You buy it to slather stuff on other stuff so that it will taste better when you eat it. This brush more than fulfills its calling in life. It allows a smooth flow and allows you to regulate the amount of what ever it is you are smearing on your food as you cook. As a big time plus for me, you can put this thing in the dishwasher. That may not seem like much, but cleaning one of the old type basting brushes could be a real pain and a bit time consuming...they certainly were not built for dishwashers, which since I am the official dishwasher in our household, is quite at the top of my list of things I want and this has made my life much easier.
I like Weber products; buy them when ever they are available, and I certainly have not been unhappy with this purchase. Unless I do something real stupid, which does happen now and again, this brush should last me for years! I may quite well put this item in my will.
Grilling tip for you: I bought this as a replacement brush for the one I have had used for a couple of years. I found that if you become distracted and lay the basting brush...any basting brush, over the open flames of a grill and leave it there, it will burn. This causes a horrid mess and the smell is not pleasing. When grilling, you got to keep your head in the game and let others yell at the dogs.

The OzarksI never expected a heavy, stainless-steel handled basting brush like this for the reasonable price: Weber does it again!
If you are looking for a lightweight silicone brush, however, this is NOT it. This is heavy and should last a lifetime and for that, I am very, very appreciative.

How could I possibly be so excited about a basting brush??! I imagine all of the other reviewers before me scratched their head and preceded to type out little loving haikus describing their adoration. If you have dealt with basting brushes from your local 'supermarket' before then you will understand why we love this product. Many a times, I try to clean under warm/hot water the sticky marinade that has become forever embedded in the nylon bristles of other brushes. Forget about egg washing anything ever again.... you are always left with a myriad of scents no matter how many times you wash, rinse and repeat. Then you must throw the cheap basting brush into the dishwasher. What remains is a gnarly burnt bristle mess which has rendered that 4 dollar baster unusable. RIP nylon brush. Now onto this beauty: It is BIG, slightly heavy and long (about 12 inches it seems; didn't measure)! The handle is SOLID stainless steel in a beautiful matte finish. Whatever you have known of other basters it completely the opposite of this one. It isn't light, the handle isn't plastic and the bristles aren't made of nylon. I almost forgot to mention: It is dishwasher safe!! Mine runs through and comes out like the day it was purchased. FINALLY!
I was able to egg wash some Easter cookies without blinking. I also brushed a marinade that was very herb heavy on pork souvlakis. The usual herb mix would have been stuck between nylon bristles; with the silicone this did not occur (AMEN!). This was purchased for my husband and his balcony grilling, but I have decided to keep it in my kitchen crock. The same day he basted the same marinade on the aforementioned souvlakis while grilling outside. He came back raving because for once the handle was long enough to reach the meat in the back and finally, he didn't burn the basting brush.
Highly recommend to anyone that is in need of a modern basting brush that can actually handle kitchen/outside grilling tasks. I do agree that weber should add a nice hole/metal loop to the top for hanging while barbecuing. If it had the loop, I would have never taken possession and put it into my crock. Buy it not just for barbecuing, but also for your kitchen. It blends perfectly in my stainless steel appliance kitchen.I was uncertain about a silicone basting brush, but this works well. The effect of the bristles is a little different from what you'd get with a plastic or nylon brush, but it does a good job of spreading the sauce and juices around on the meat (which is what it's meant to do after all). It is huge, however, as you might expect for a grilling basting brush meant to be used over high heat. The length is also useful for basting within the oven. My wife doesn't like it because she thinks it is too large to fit in our utensil canister, and because it's a bit too tall to fit upright in the silverware basket of our dishwasher. I lay it down flat, and it cleans just fine, and doesn't retain that oily residue as the old nylon brush did. It's a manly tool for manly men, and I use it constantly. Recommended.

Non Stick Rib Rack
Pros:
Comfortable fit 3 (up to 6) racks in the space of 1
Pretty easy to handwash
Inexpensive
Cons:
Not dishwasher safe
6 ribs is a tight fit
Metal a little thin in the construction
That said, when I go to replace this, I probably won't buy the same one, but will give another brand a shot.
*** Update: July 30, 2007
This thing is horrible. Besides not being dishwasher safe, it really is impossible to get the rack clean. All things non-stick don't handle high temperatures well and grills get very hot. My 3rd time using it has left it with no non-stick and who knows what I have been eating with the ribs, maybe some chemicals. If I could, I would knock this down to a 1 star.

Presto 07047 Presto Cool Touch Griddle
It heats up quickly and has an even temperature across the entire surface with no noticeable hot and cool spots. So far it has been sturdy and reliable. For the ~$18 we paid for it, this griddle was an excellent value. I would recommend this item.

My mom was given this griddle as a gift and after using hers, I just had to purchase my own. It is great for making breakfast and the fact that it can be fully submerged in water makes cleanup easy.Read Best Reviews of Presto 07047 Presto Cool Touch Griddle Here
Once I found the perfect recipe to make beautiful golden, light, high-rise pancakes, I knew I needed an electric griddle that would accommodate large 5"-6" pancakes. This Presto handles the golden part just fine, but it's not big enough to handle more than two IHOP-sized pancakes at a time. So I've opted to order a second one, which will add to my griddle real estate, and produce the golden tan pancakes that I've come to love. I like the presto because it maintains its temperature and the plate is heated uniformly with no hotspots. The non-stick surface allows me to use less butter. Presto makes larger griddles, but having two of the smaller size seems to work well for my purposes.Edited: Nov 30, 2012: I've been asked for the recipe of the perfect pancake. So here it is:
The Perfect Pancake
Important: Mix the batter as little as possible. Lumpy is good. Over mixing causes the moisture to combine with the gluten in the flour to form glue that prevents the gas (formed by the baking soda) from letting the pancakes rise as they cook. So stir as little as possible to just mix the ingredients.
1. Mix the following dry ingredients in a bowl:
2 ½ cups all purpose flour
¼ cup of granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2. In a different separate bowl, mix the following wet ingredients:
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups sour cream
2 large eggs scrambled
4 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons sweet cream butter, melted
3. Add the mixed dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients. Stir until just blended, but still lumpy. (Do not over mix)
4. Preheat Presto griddle to 350-degrees. Pour batter by ¼ -cupfulls onto griddle.

I first ordered the 22" griddle as I wanted the larger cooking surface. However, I need it to go long way from front to back of the counter, and with the plug on the long end -it was just too long to be safe. This one fits that way with room to spare. However, I am disappointed to lose some cook surface. Here's what fits: 10 strips of Hormel regular sliced bacon (I'd wanted one I could fit the whole package) or 5 slices of Arnold bread soaked for French toast (different rounds of cooking).
How it cooks: You could definitely tell it was cooler right in the center (even with the bacon that cooked more on the ends than in the middle of the piece), and on the end furthest from the plug. But it was manageable. I just traded spots with the food and it all cooked nicely with an even, predictable temperature. So I'm happy.
But I bought this to add to volume of food and am not concerned about really even color on pancakes. Good enough for family use!

Microhearth Grill Pan for Microwave Cooking, Black
Buy Microhearth Grill Pan for Microwave Cooking, Black Now
I received this item as a gift. Now I cook all meats in the microwave. Kebobs come out great. The cooker leaves grill marks. No more messy oven from broiling meats! I usually cook non seafood items for 3 minutes then I turn and decide the amount of time the item needs to finish cooking.Easy to clean. Just wipe out, that's it.
The only improvement I would make would be to have the steam vents on the opposite end from the spot you grip the handle to lift the lid. That is a small thing compared to the convenience of the cooker.
Great addition to the kitchen for cooking for 1 or 2 people.

Breville BGR400XL Ikon 1800-Watt Removable-Plate Grill
Well, I posted a nice review on Dec. 27, 2007 after purchasing this grill. After use of 2 to 3 times per month for 9 months it's totally stone cold dead. Plugged it in the other night, no lights, no heat. I am very disappointed. I will be trying to receive a replacement because it's too late for money back. Just wanted to post an update on the product.
I would have rated with 0 stars but it would not let me change my previous star rating and would not let me post another review.
FIRST REVIEW Dec. 27, 2007:
Pros: Very easy to remove and clean the grill plates. When you replace the grill plates, they are secure. Cooks meat to perfection and makes a wonderful panini sandwich. Top locks in place, cord stores securely underneath for space saving upright storage. Clean stainless steel design.
Handle remains cool to touch.
Can be used under overhead kitchen cabinets. I have 18" from the top of my countertop to the bottom of the cabinet front and I have 1" remaining with the grill fully open.
Cons: Does not open all the way to lay flat for use as an open grill. This is my lst review on anything so please bear with me. I did extensive research on Breville's grill and I decided on this one just for the fact of removable plates and it is a little smaller than the other one. SO, my husband bought this past Monday 31st for my birthday 3rd of Jan-Yeah!!! Anyway, we opened the box up and the temp. control knob fell off which he re-inserted just fine. Thinking everything was ok I preceded to cook some sausage. Had it on sear and the sausage would not brown, had the indentations but would not get "crispy". It was as if it was not "hot" enough. So I decided the cook an egg on the griddle and it ran all over the place. The whites of the egg would not cook. Yes the grill was not tilted. So last night I decided to try a boneless chicken breast on sear. Let it preheat for 15 or so minutes. Put the chicken on it and you could barely hear the "sizzle". It cooked it,had the indentations but would not get browned. It was not very "appetizing" to look at to say the least. I will save it to make chicken salad. I wrote Breville which they responded..very nice. I could either ship it back to them or take it the retailer. So I am going to take it back and hopefully they will have another one in stock. I am going to try it again, maybe that is the only one defected. I hope it is not that whole lot shipment. I wanted something better that will last longer than old GEORGE. That is really the only complaint:>(
Looks great, feels solid, easy to clean, like the plug, think the "ready" light could be bigger and/or brighter. Thanks.
UPDATE: I returned the product back to the store and they were very nice. I exchanged it for another one. I LOVE IT :>) Talk about getting hot...sears beautifully. The handle stays cool but the rest gets hot so be careful. The only complaint (small) is that I think the green "READY" light should be bigger/brighter. You have to get up close and personal but that maybe my 57 years old eyes. By the time you use your discount coupon, send in for a rebate it is so more expensive than good old George and it looks much nicer. So far I am pleased! :>)

I just bought this as my first indoor grill hoping to cook some tasty and healthy food quickly in my busy life.My sister owns a George Foreman grill and mentioned that to me. She has a non-removable grill so cleaning was a bit tedious. So I wanted one with removable plates to wash them in sink.
From what I read on George Foreman's removable grills, they are not very well built and don't get very hot (see their reviews). Then I found about Cusinart GR-4, their highest end model. While it has many fancy features, I also heard they are cheaply built, the handles are easy to break. Anyway, the last one I found, this Brevile Ikon Grill seems to be perfect for me. The size is not too big, neither too small for one to two people.
I went into Bed Bath and Beyond compared all of them. This one is definitely the best built one. To be honest none of them are what I consider "well built". But this one is much more sturdy than others. I've grilled 1 inch thick steak no problem (I tried 2 inch thick steak and that's not going anywhere, but it's expected I'd say). It can get very hot. Takes about 4-5 min to warm up depending on your setting.
Oh, before I decide to purchase this grill, I called Brevile USA to check if they have replacement plates in case the non-sticking coating gets worn out (they don't list this on their web site). They told me they do sell it and it costs $35 (Cusinart replacement plate sells for $30). These plates should last for a while if you take care of them.
I actually like it requires you to pull the plug to turn it off. It's much safer this way and has not been an inconvenience.
Overall, I'd recommend this grill over others.

After having tried and returned a George Foreman grill with removable grill plates, I was leery about this grill. The George Foreman grill didn't get anywhere close to hot enough to sear meats. I read in the negative reviews (of the George Foreman grill) that this was in part due to the removable grill plates. My concerns about removable grill plates all went away once I cooked on this grill. It is an awesome grill that sears very well. It actually got a little too hot, so I turned it down. Sorry George. This grill beats yours hands down!
My reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it were a little larger. Other than that, it's perfect!
***Update***
After having used this grill for about 2 months, I've had to return it twice for the same reason. The top grill plate falls off very easily when closing the grill. This is VERY dangerous, as you can imagine. I thought that I got unlucky with the first unit I received, until the second one started doing the same thing. I'm hoping that the third one works better. If not, I'll be returning it for a full refund.
The grill cooks great but because of this flaw, I wish I could change my rating to 1 or 2 stars.
**2nd Update**
BUYER BEWARE!!!! In the time I've owned this grill (about 2 years now), I've returned 4 of them! Yes 4!!! Only 1 has worked for longer than a few months. Notice the other reviews because it's true. This grill just suddenly stops working. Deserves no stars at all.

I received this for Christmas and have already made several pressed sandwiches, such as a bacon, egg and cheese english muffin sandwich, grilled ham and cheese, and a grilled BLT. The sandwiches are great and I'm looking forward to learning how to do other things with it, such as grilling meat and making pizza. It's not too heavy and locks so that you can store it on its side. The feet tilt so that you can grill and the drippings will drain into a drip tray in the front of the unit. The cord rolls up on the bottom of the unit. It is sturdy and the plates are easy to remove and clean. the grill heats up quickly and the sandwiches come off the grill very hot. Overall a great addition to my kitchen.Friday, June 28, 2013
MaxiMatic ERO-2008S Elite 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Rotisserie and Grill/Griddle Top
When my Maximatic ERO2006S (which I stumbled upon @ a discount warehouse) retired after many years (6-8) of faithful service, after much searching for the perfect replacement and finding many worthy contenders, I stuck w/Maximatic and went for the upgrade (Elite Professional ExLarge-23L-ERO2008S) which is a better value, I think, than the ERO2006S and definately worth the extra money.
This little oven is a big bang for the buck. I just love it. Rotisserie, broil, roast, bake, steams? griddle and oh yeah-makes great toast too. Roomy enough to roast 6-8 lb (at least) chicken or turkey breast. W/separately purchased pizza stone-a pizza oven. W/separately purchased steamer-a veggie steamer as well.
Listing @ just $10.00 more than its older model, Maximatic has kicked it up a notch or two. W/its updated snazzier look and larger size (height & width pretty much the same but depth, front to back is where most of the extra room is). Also much roomier cooking top. Profile is angled w/more room near the bottom which gives it a nice look. Looks much better than as pictured.
This one has a 'stay on' and timer function w/bell too. Yay!
The roomier multi-use top is very handy (why don't they all do this ???). The well thought out combo design enables the heat in the top to be put to good use as a steamer and warmer when roasting/baking/broiling. This was the biggest reason for choosing Maximatic in the first place and then replacing it w/the newer model. The top used as griddle is another cooking option (though seems somewhat cramped).
I was hoping a standard 9x13 would fit, but 2 8x8 works too. I have located some great cookware that does fit so not a priority or problem.
The brand is not well known @ least to me. The price was right for my first Maximatic and I was in a bind so I grabbed it, but would never have purchased an unknown or little-known brand if given a choice. The first one did not disappoint and I'm hoping this one will last as that one did. This toaster oven replaced a piece of crap I'd had enough of ruining my food. So far I'm extremely satisfied with this toaster oven. I have already baked brownies, toasted bread, and roasted a pork loin using the rotisserie. I have had it only 5 days but am extremely satisfied so far. I bought this hoping to cook more without having to heat up the whole oven for a simple small item. The only concern is the amount of overhead clearance when using the rotisserie. You will have to tie up a chicken well to be sure not to push against the top.

The Elite Professional Jumbo was a Birthday present to myself ;) I'd looked for quite a while at whatever features might be available in a toaster oven and this one has it all and more. My intenions were to cut out on the use of the 220 oven going more green but also, I'm disabled and thought a toaster oven would be less bulky to use. I am a former Chef and cook from scratch quite a bit. I simply love this oven!! The top portion is a griddle/saute portion with a nice-sized cover for bulk quite a unique addition. The rotisserie is a wonderful bonus and it's one experiment after another. It has multiple settings for bake, broil, toast, keep warm, etc. The fact that you can adjust the timer to "stay on" is a great feature that was a complaint (the heat goes off when the oven goes off on a plain timer) in a lot of other reviews --you're allowed to slow roast and not have to turn the timer back on every hour. The size is "Jumbo" yet takes up little counter space. Mine actually fit nicely right on a "TV Table" I'd no other use for. The construction is solid and not "Tin-" ny as is the complaint on many an oven. Well worth the few additional dollars -you can't go wrong here!!Thank You for an excellent Purchase of the Elite Proffessional Extra Large Toaster Oven-Broiler-Rotisery-23L-ERO-2008S. I purchased this for my friend family of four, and it saved their Thanksgiving Day, and everyday of their busy life. This purchase is excellent for anyone, and a large family. This multi-functional unit is more than is said about it. This can fully cook an entire meal, and is easy clean up. The purchase price is excellent for such a proven item, and I recommend this to anyone, and all families. Space saving, and excellent on electric also. I came across this oven in a discount store and took it home and used it and fell in love with it. It is the perfect size for me. Not only does it toast, broil etc but I also made a cake in it. A full size cake a couple of time and they came out perfect. It doesn't put out much heat when it is in use. Who needs to use a big oven when you have one like this? It is great!!! I love it. I doesn't take up much space on the counter. It is perfect!!!
