Outdoor Leisure SH36208 Smoke Hollow 40-Inch Barrel

Outdoor Leisure SH36208 Smoke Hollow 40-Inch BarrelI never buy anything like this that doesn't require "modification". This was no exception. The box arrived destroyed. It had been wrapped in plastic wrap to hold it togethor. The delivery guy understood however that I wanted to check it out before I accepted it so he and I tore it apart to see if there was any damage. Amazingly, all the parts were there and there wasn't a scratch. Unreal considering the condition of the box but I will count my luck. Assembly -the firebox comes in two pieces (top/bottom). One of the holes didn't align at all (front left if looking down inside the top door)and I had to re-drill it. No big deal. The washers are entirely too small in the firebox as well and will press right through the holes here as you tighten them up.....so I put larger more substantial washers all the way around the inside of the fire box. The bolts for the firebox are realllllly looooowwwww grade and soft metal as well. Since the firebox flanges don't fit well togethor (ultimately leaving about 1/4 inch gap between top and bottom halves), it would be good if you could tighten it down all the way around to close the gap a bit......but the bolts are too cheap and will shear before you get there. If I had known this before getting most of them in, I would have replaced all of them with higher grade bolt, nuts and washers. Not sure why for $607 they couldn't spend another $8 for proper hardware here? The 1/4 inch gap is not a big deal however because it is in the firebox and allows a bit of air into the combustion chamber. If it were in the cooking chamber it would not be good. The other piece that had to be modified was the temp guage hole. It simply wasn't big enough for the temp guage to fit....so it had to be bored out before it fit snugly through the hole. (again, not a big deal). Smoking the fire box is good sized and got proper air flow (this is the absolute biggest and most important piece with these things). It could use a grate at the bottom that has smaller openings so it will hold charcoal (the charcoal slides right through it as it is). I will be fabricating a tighter screen to place on top of the current grate (which shouldn't be difficult). I ultimately used a mixture of charcoal and wood for the fire. This will take a bit of study as I go to get the mixture right but I feel I was on the right path. The unit does leak around the main door just a bit, but again, it appears maintaining temp is not going to be too difficult because of the large firebox and proper openings for air in/out. All of offset smokers leak air to some extent. As with all offset smokers, this one could also use a convection plate that carries the heat further down towards the center of the cooking chamber instead of most of the heat coming up on the right side where the firepit hole is. I will be fabricating one of these as well (againshouldn't be difficult). I also wish the smokestack entered the cooking chamber down near the cooking grates. This would help force the heat and smoke to exit at a lower level (thereby smoking/cooking the meat better). The tendancy with exit holes this high is that the heat goes straight up, then over to the exit, bypassing the meat to some extent. I have only seen one offset smoker that got this point right however. I will maybe see if I can fabricate an exension of the pipe inside the smoker to lower its entry point. I see all of these things as items that I would have to do to almost every offset smoker out there btw. It did smoke a shoulder to 180 degrees over about 7hrs. I was playing with the temp the whole time however trying to figure out the best combination. All smokers will require a bit of a learning curve. The smoker as a whole appears sturdy and looks like it will hold a good amount of meat. I am probably going to mount two more good quality thermometers to it....right at the cooking surface with one on the right and one on the left so I can try and even the heat out from one side to the other with convection plate design.

The grill showed up in a torn box. When I put it together the two haves of the fire bow did not match up very well and there is a small separation in it to the point that I think it effects the temp in the firebox. The thermostat was also broken and is off on the temperature by 50 degrees. The rest of the grill is well constructed but I expected a lot more for 600 dollars. I would send it back if it wasn't for all the hassles, this is the first Smoke Hollow grill I have owned and I am not happy with it.

Personalized Tiki Bar Sign

Personalized Tiki Bar SignThere really isn't anything better than having your own personalized tiki bar sign, is there? Well ok for me there isn't. The sign is great and most of all its pretty darn big. Which makes it nice beacause you are trying to make a big statement with a custom sign. So nuts and bolts; sign is ideal size for any setting. hanger makes it easy to get this thing hung up. Personal name is great for gift or if you have a tiki bar in the back yard it makes a great accent piece. Seller is great, however you must check your messages to/from seller in order to reply back to the seller giving the name that will be printed on there. The email was there the same day for me. I missed ordering the first time because I did not know the process and had to order it twice. So I will say again check your to/from seller messages for the email asking what name you want on the sign.

Korean BBQ Plate (LARGE)

Korean BBQ PlateThe Korean BBQ works very well. I just wish it was larger. The write-up on Amazon said that it weighed 9 lbs. The one I received only weighed 6 lbs. I assume that it is the correct one. It cleans very well after use.

We use this as a tabletop grill by placing it on a stand with a gel fuel can underneath. Try grilling shrimp--it's super for that--but it works for other meats and veggies, too. It gets very hot and things cook quickly. Experiment with putting the fuel closer or further away. Be sure to place the fuel on a heat resistant surface.

Great I love that device the only thing is that it is described as large and in fact it's the same width as the other one. But it's a great tool that we all love in the family.

I am wondering if this would work on my induction cookplate--could use a photo of the bottom and a measurement of diameter, especially the part that would be in contact with an induction element.

I am sure it's fabulous for its purpose, but cannot purchase without more information...

I purchased it on June 15, 2012, and only used it once sometime in later July 2012. After my 1st use, it was getting rusted very badly so that I could not use it any more.

I contacted M.V. Trading Co and only got the manufacture's number. I called that number and was told that they would call me back with the solution. 6 months since then, no call back and no solution. 44 dollars for one-time use? what do you think?

So I emailed M.V. Trading Co today and here was what I got "Any steel will get rust if you don't dry it completely after you wash it. We don't think this have anything to do with the quality of the product."

YES, the question is how good it is! The rust all over the plate only after 1st usage? If it is so easy to get rusted, Please put that information on your product page.

By the way, I'm a Korean, who have used so many similar products before. I did dry it after my 1st use and I DO know how to take care of it. Don't blame customers' way of usage whenever you have a claim. It might be that what I got is a defective one OR that you have a very poor product quality control.

Won't recommend it to anyone (except you wanna spend 44 dollars to see how the rust spread all over the plate after your 1st use) and would never ever buy anything from M.V. Trading Co, Period@!

Charcoal Companion Cast Iron 7-Inch Diameter Grill Press, Round

Charcoal Companion Cast Iron 7-Inch Diameter Grill Press, RoundA great cooking tool!

I bought the Charcoal Companion to use as a press to make paninis in my 7-inch cast iron, ridged, grill pan. The ridged, heavy-weight size, press had been dificult to find to fit my small skillet, so I was excited to try it when it arrived! I decided to make a paninii of left over chicken that day. Much to my surprise, it would not make the browned ridges I desired but only squashed the panini. I thought about it and realized the grill press was not hot when it contacted the bread. I have an induction cooktop so decided to see if it would heat the ridged press. It did! I put the grill press on one burner, heated my ridged cast iron pan on another burner. When I decided the temperature was right (I heated on No. 7 on my cooktop) I placed the panini in my skillet, then placed the grill on top. Viola! It produced a perfect ridged panini.

I did brush the grill press with oilive oil before placing on my burner, the same as I did my cast iron skillet. I lightly buttered both outsides of my sandwich. This gave a me an authentic panini.

I do not use regular white or wheat bread. I use french, baguette or aritisan bread from my supermarke I slice myself. I don' think regular sliced bread would hold up to this procedure.

I purchased this along with a different press to use making bacon on an oblong antique cast iron griddle. My family initially thought this was kind of a goofy, frivolous purchase but they have been amazed at how much better the bacon is using this. It makes it nice and flat and more uniformly cooks it without as many "rare" fat spots. If you prefer the rare spots you simply would cook the bacon for a shorter time. I think it shortens cooking time somewhat by holding heat on the top of the meat. The bottom of this is cast with ridges about 3/16" tall, spaced about 5/8" apart. I've discovered that this makes it great for doing tube meat like hot dogs and sausages. You can use the press to cook along the whole length all the way around by placing the meat parallel to and between the ridges. I've also used it for frying cornbread and get a much more uniform cooking of it than I used to. I've only had it now for a few weeks but I'm sure I'll think of many more uses for it. There are other presses that weigh more but the weight of this has proven sufficient for any use to which I have put it. The seasoning appears to be good as so far I've had no issues with it sticking. The casting is of good quality with a pretty smooth surface and no flaws.

The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is that you have to be careful with the ends of the handle. The wood handle is long enough to easily handle the hot press, safely avoiding the posts to which it is mounted. However a few times while holding the press to adjust my meat my hand has come in contact with the top of the posts (the handle is mounted between them). The press hasn't been hot enough to create a burn on my hand but it's an uncomfortable moment nonetheless. I usually just wipe my cast iron cooking tools with a paper towel between uses so haven't tried washing this. The ridges might create a bit of a challenge but I can't think of why you might get food stuck to the bottom to necessitate this. Regardless I think this slight risk is worth the extra utility of having the ridges. I looked at a number of these but was restricted in size by the flat area of the griddle. I was concerned that this wouldn't cover all my bacon but before my other press arrived I used only this one switching it from end to end. With bacon this worked about as well as having 2 presses.

this is a good product. I use it 2 3 time a week. I would buy a larger one from the same company

Have used it consistently with my cast iron pan and my induction cookware (which I also bought from Amazon). Needs to be heated separately, though meaning if you have induction cookware, be prepared to heat the grill press on its own first. Once heated, it can be applied to the meat and it will sear it nicely. Recommend it, but with a caveat: Needs to be heated on its own first.

Excellent time saver, Helps speed up cooking when used on bacon and burgers. The price is right for this Grill press. Works with induction stove tops as well, just be careful not to burn yourself as the wooden handle stays cool but the exposed metal ends get VERY hot.

George Foreman GFQ001 Quesadilla Maker

George Foreman GFQ001 Quesadilla MakerIt truly is a fun little unit to have around. We don't use it a lot but when we do, we really get a good night out of the thing... Its fun, it works quite well and it is easy to use... But it is messy as all Hell, prepare your counter top...lol

I would call this item a MANDATORY Purchase before throwing your son out of the house. Assuming your son is aged 19-21 and never bothered learning how to cook. I would call it about as necessary as the George Foreman Grill for your College Kid.

My 22 year-old daughter uses it.I was going to give it to her at one point but she can get her own...lol

It will fill you up quickly and it will stretch your food dollar big time and again... It turns out a pretty damn good product. Someone who doesn't know how to cook can easily make something really good with this thing.

On a more technical note... It is constructed well enough for regular use. It has very good heat distribution throughout (no hot-spots or cold areas)and performs quite well. For a messy unit, it cleans up with the greatest of ease. A simple Paper Towel wipe will remove 99% of the mess produced and the unit does clean up quite simply... Much easier than damn dear every pan I have ever cleaned over the past three decades.

Have loved the convenience of this grill. Very easy to make quesadillas without having to turn them over. Also already marked sections to cut when you remove it. Slides off the grill easily. Very easy to clean. Love it.

Originally I purchased a Bella for $19.99 at Macys. It was impossible to clean. I took it back and purchased (at another store)a George Foreman Quesadilla maker for less than the Bella and it is much superior. The larger size also compresses/closes the outside edges of the tortillas to keep the filling in. Even if the filling would go over it is made to easily clean. Preheat and cook excellent results.

The quesadilla maker is easy to use, but I'm not totally impressed. It can't be taken apart for cleaning; it only uses the large-size tortillas; it really doesn't brown very well and the bottom tortilla is usually soggy, whether I use a light coating of oil or not. I'm using it now, but it may find its way into the Salvation Army pile before long.

Want George Foreman GFQ001 Quesadilla Maker Discount?

Don't know if the oven is the 'traditional' way to make a quesadilla, but it was the way the Southern Living Cookbook told me to do it. I did it and they were delicious, but flipping a quesadilla with a spatula in a flaming hot oven was not so fun, and it was awkward, and usually messy.

SO, when I found this at the big box yellow happy face place for $10 on clearance, my interest was piqued. It looked a little more contained, and therefore easier to manage.

First, the recipe I use asks that you butter the quesadilla. I don't know if this is what is traditionally done, but it's how I've made them, and it makes a nice brown crust outside. I don't seem to get the soggy bottom that others have indicated this way.

Also, I put the tomatoes to drain in a colander well before putting them in the mix. Usually a couple hours before, I have a small colander that fits into my mixing bowl and I keep that in the fridge until I am ready to assemble. I don't know if this helps the soggyness as well.

I agree with others, that it isn't always easy to find the tortillas for this maker. 10" is a little more rare than the smaller ones, and they only come 6 to a package at that, so I usually have to make three quesadillas, which is more than we need. (8 would give us two meals)

Cleaning this, given my experience with other grills and waffle irons, is pretty easy. It does not come apart, and is not submersible, but if you trust the instructions and wait for it to cool, it really does clean right up. The surface is truly non-stick and releases everything.

The latch is a trick to get used to. It compresses the maker while the food cooks, so to release it, you should push on the top of the maker to let up the tension. This is accomplished easily by keeping an oven mitt on the flaming hot top.

The way coolest part is when you slightly crispy warm and gooey quesadilla slides out of the maker, it has scores for 6 evenp pieces. A pizza cutter makes short work of this.

For what I paid for this, I find it an incredible value. Would I have paid $45 for this? In retrospect, probably. It was really worth it.

Also, I accidentally rolled it in the box down our basement stairs, and it didn't affect it in the least (I keep it in the box without the styrofoam to keep the dust off of it in our basement when not in use.)

Kamado Joe KJFS Fire Starters

Kamado Joe KJFS Fire StartersI used to make my own fire starters, this is better, depending on the amount of charcoal, just need one or two starters and poof, charcoal starts to ignite.

They burn fine if they are completely exposed to air. But as soon as you place them near the charcoal you are hoping to burn they go out.

We have a wood burning stove in our living room and these are wonderful for getting it started. I only use a half of one and it works every time. Really easy to light and burns about 12-15 minutes. We use them in the Kamado Joe "Egg" bar-b-que too during the warm months. They seem a little expensive, but if you've ever struggled with cheapo fire starters, you'll know right away that these are worth every cent just for lack of frustration. Really dependable and easy.

I purchased an electric charcoal starter with my Kamado Joe but only used it once. After hearing about these little guys from a friend, I decided to try them out. They light easily and burn hot enough to get even my mesquite charcoal lit up on the first try. Very happy with them and glad they are on Prime! I used to have to keep my propane spare around with my old grill, now I just need to order refills of these when I'm getting low. I just scanned the barcode on my phone app & had them 2 days later.

George Foreman GR70WHT Infusion Grill

George Foreman GR70WHT Infusion GrillThis grill is the best piece of cookware that I have ever bought...I was looking for a product that cooked food quickly but still gave the food a great taste. I have had my grill for about 7 months, and since then I have used the oven an average of once a week. This grill is extremely quick in cooking food and leaves your food very moist. This grill has a temperature control that ranges from Warm to 440 degrees. The glass lid is a great feature because it allows the flavor to stay in the food. I have cooked chicken leg quarters, chicken breast, pork chops, wings, boneless chicken breast, and much more. When cooking with this grill you can cook meats with both bones and that are boneless. Putting vegetables on the grill is an added bonus. There are many nights where I make my entire meal on the grill, vegetables included.

Basically what I am trying to say is that this product is by far the best. Don't hesitate in buying this product it is worth the money.

I rate this FusionGrill with 5 stars plus. We tried different foods and grilled them at the same time. We grilled Italian Sausage, Pork Chops, Cubed red potatoes with cut up green and red peppers and sliced onions. Everything was put on at the same time. We cooked this for close to an hour and the meat turned out so tender, I will never use a pan on the stove method again. The potatoes were par boiled first and then put in a pan and flavored with vegetable oil , parsley , garlic powder , salt and pepper and lightly tossed before putting on the grill. All I can say is this was the best eating experience our family has had in a long time. Speaking of time, this grill actually gave me time to entertain in my livingroom and not in my kitchen while the food was cooking on the grill. I didn't have to worry about food burning. Best ever George Foreman Fusion Grill. Thanks for looking.

This was not as good as the other George Foreman products, like his XL and XXL skillets. What I like about his other products is that they let the fat drip off, so it is healthier. This product did not deduct from the fat as well as i thought it would. This is the same price as the XL skillet, and I think that the XL skillet is a better product for the same money.

The skillet also had a better and crisper taste to the meat and vegetables that were cooked on it, instead of the not-so-crispy taste that the grill produced. If I would have the choice, I would have bought the skillet first, and saved my money for possibly another skillet!

I bought one of these Fusion Grills about 2 years ago, and I love it! I was waiting to find a good deal on it, and now that I have, I have ordered 3 more of them, one for each daughter for Christmas 2001! This is almost half of what I paid, and since I have ordered over $100 worth, there is no shipping! I also have one of the other George Foreman Grills, but I use this one way more! It has so many different things you can do with it, and drains the fat off wonderfully. We all eat way too much fat, so why not drain off what we can, since there is a great way to do it, with this product! I think it is going to make a great gift!

This item performs better than you would expect. The set up takes about a minute when you first get it out of the box. It's extreemly easy to keep clean and clean up. Putting the basting cup in the center of the grill was a really good idea, no more drips when basting, plus the flavor of the marinade continues to infuse, even when you are not basting.

Here's the really big plus. I cleaned this up with only two, small cheap paper towels. Nothing sticks to it. Just wipe it down and put it away. I did chicken with an herb marinade so it was full of debris when I was done, so this was a good test of the cleanup.

Highly reccomend.

Lodge Color ECSGP43 Enameled Cast Iron Square Grill Pan, Island Spice Red, 10-inch

Lodge Color ECSGP43 Enameled Cast Iron Square Grill Pan, Island Spice Red, 10-inchI purchased the 10" Lodge Logic Grill Pan and the 10" Staub Grill Pan at the same time. The Staub pan is approximately three times the cost of the lodge logic pan. I find the Staub pan to be suburb in both look and feel, but both pans are entirely functional. Surprisingly, I found the lodge pan to have a smoother coating of outer enamel I was less worried about scratching my glass top stove when using it. The lodge pan is about 1/2" shorter than the Staub pan which may result in additional splatter. The cooking surfaces of both pans are the same size, however the surface of the lodge pan feels more porous than that of the Staub pan.

I found cleaning to be very simple for both pans. If you are having difficulty I suggest soaking the griddle surface in hot water and detergent for an hour. This gives a chance for the detergent to break down and release fats. If you want to prevent burning try cooking with temperatures no more than medium high this is stated in the included manual. Be sure to give your pan a good coat of olive oil when cooking I use the pressurized spray olive oil as it is far easier to get an even coat.

Lodge Logic Grill Pan Review Summary:

Pros (Compared to Staub): Low Cost, Smoothness of Outer Enamel

Cons (Compared to Staub): Height (Approx 1/2" Shorter than Staub Grill Pan), Quality of Cooking Surface Enamel, No Pour Spout, General Appearance

Overall Stars Staub 10" Grill Pan: 5/5

Overall Stars Lodge Logic: 4/5

If both pans had been the same height I would have given both a rating of 5. The rest of the cons are outweighed by the difference in cost between the pans. At it's price point, the lodge pan is still a very good deal. If you have a modest budget by all means purchase the lodge pan. It works. If you are concerned about splatter and visual appeal and have the budget buy the Staub.

I have used both griddles twice now and am posting pictures and as you will see both appear brand new though they have been used.

I have been attempting to switch to cast iron cookware for health reasons, and so when I pulled out a recipe for grilled romaine salad I decided to search for an enameled cast iron pan instead of going with cook's illustrated recommended nonstick version. This pan is an amazing deal, compared to the Le Creuset version at $83, and although I have only used it so far for the one recipe I look forward to using it over and over again. I bought an Oxo Good Grips stiff brush for $5.50 to use to clean it, and it cleaned up just as easily as any of my nonstick pans. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Happy grilling!Oxo Good Grips Kitchen Brush

I purchased this pan, along with the matching Lodge Color Enamel Cast Iron 8.5 inch Square Panini Press, Caribbean Blue (in island spice red), about a year ago. No complaints, it works as advertised with consistent results. I use it at least three or four times a week, mainly making paninis but also to grill meats when I don't feel like going outside in the weather and even for home made quesadillas.

I own lots of cast iron cook wear, all from Lodge, though this is my first enameled piece. Even with that I still had a bit of a learning curve which resulted in a couple phenomenal burnt cheese messes (the press is HEAVY and will squeeze out excess cheese/sauce/liquids, etc...), but everything cleaned up quickly and easily with minimal fuss. I've learned to use a bit less cheese and to concentrate it in the middle to help keep it in the food and off the grill, problem solved.

Quality of the finish isn't quite on par with the pricier brands, but works just as well and still looks great, especially considering the price difference.

Since most of the negative reviews cite issues that are more user-error than a problem with the product, here are a couple pointers for those inexperienced with using cast iron,

Use medium to medium-high heat and let the pan preheat for at least 5-10 minutes before use. Cast iron retains heat very well, but also takes much longer to heat up than the thin, chintzy pans inhabiting so many kitchens. You can preheat the press as well by placing it in the pan with ridges interlocked, but be sure to give it more time. Be patient, the results are worth it!

Use a good quality cooking spray, or a refillable liquid sprayer (I have this one:Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer, Brushed Aluminum, to get a nice even coating of olive oil on the cooking surface to help produce great sear marks and prevent sticking.

For cleanup use the same method you used to cook; add 1/4" to 1/2" of water in the pan and heat on medium-high to just before boiling. Once the water is hot keep the heat coming and scrub the pan with a stiff bristled nylon brush (I get mine at the local dollar store) till everything comes up. Works great on conventional cast iron pans as well. No need to apply a light coat of oil before storing, though, due to the enamel.

Cooking with cast iron, even when enameled, takes a little more effort than non-stick, but for me the results are well worth it. Enjoy!

I wanted this for so long and finally decided to buy it. Speedy shipping and it looked great! I got it on Nov 2, 2010 and used it the same night. I cooked chicken using silicone tipped tongs and then hand-washed it with hot water, plain Dawn and a non-scratch scrubber. My sink is cast iron also but I have protective mats on the sink bottom. All of that and it still chipped! I thought maybe I missed washing some spots but after looking closer, I saw that there were small chips on the inside of the grill and small chips on the bottom of the handle. I am so disappointed in this item. Have to see about a return. I have not even had it for 2 weeks yet. I have other enameled cast iron by this brand and they are awesome though.

Oster CKSTGRRD25 20-by-10-Inch Digital Griddle with Removable Plate, Gray

Oster CKSTGRRD25 20-by-10-Inch Digital Griddle with Removable Plate, GrayI've cooked on griddles for decades and I like the design of this griddle, I like the detachable cooking plate, I like the fact it gets up to 400 degrees, but the non-stick coating is a complete joke! Right out of the box the non-stick coating was less than non-stick as everything that was cooked on the griddle stuck to it... even after spraying it with Pam food stuck, used bacon grease and it stuck, lard it stuck, butter it stuck, oil it stuck, ghee it stuck... so to call this griddle non-stick is a huge stretch of the imagination. And since everything that was cooked on it stuck to the surface it made cleaning it without damaging the surface was extremely difficult and in the end you had to scrub it to clean it. The digital read out is nice and size is good the fact that the non-stick surface is so inferior this product gets 1 star and it's being returned to BB&B were it was purchased.

I've purchased a couple of griddles in my time and I'm only 26.

The first one was to go on top of two burners of a stove. It was okay but I didn't get the results in even cooking.

Then the second one, was a Black & Decker model from the day after Thanksgiving from Target. It was okay just not great. I don't remember it much other than I sold it a year later in a garage sale.

Both the above items I purchased for around $20 or less.

Now, the Oster Digital Griddle I found at my In-Laws house. They moved into a newer home last year and got a bigger kitchen & pantry. So they purchased a few small appliances and other items. One of the items was the Oster Digital Griddle with Removable Plate.

We were house sitting for them one weekend a couple of months ago and I decided to make the kids pancakes. They LOVE pancakes and I practically make them every weekend for them. That gave me the opportunity to use the digital griddle. I was able to make 6-8 pancakes on the griddle at one time. It was awesome! Usually I make the pancakes in a skillet one at a time. The kids thought it was fun to watch me make them, but they also received their food faster. It was effortless, quick and uniformed.

I did read the instructions manual on how to take care of the griddle. You know, can it go in the dishwasher, etc. I can't remember now, if the removable plate can go in the dishwasher, but I'm not taking any chances. I've been hand washing it & it's very easy since everything washes off easily.

Normally I stick everything in the dishwasher, but I didn't want to ruin this thing. It's not cheap but it's not too expensive either. With my 20% off coupon from Bed Bath & Beyond, I paid $40 for it.

The one thing I will mention that the instruction manual stated, is to condition the removable plate with oil to keep the non-stick going strong. I've not had one issue with food sticking to the plate.

So far, I've cooked tons of pancakes, some sausage and I LOVE cooking bacon on it.

I've read the reviews on here about issues with inconsistent heating and not being non-stick. I received my griddle as a Christmas gift last year (purchased at BB&B), and I've since used it about a dozen times. I've cooked French toast, pancakes, and grilled cheese sandwiches, all with no sticking problems. Everything cooks evenly on any part of the griddle, as well. This thing has changed breakfast for us. The whole family is fed in a matter of minutes and no kids are whining about who gets the first pancake. Love it! The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the grease tray was dropped on first cleaning, and the handle cracked right way. It was easily glued back together, but I'd like to see some improvement on the durability. (Btw...I'm wondering if the previous reviewer who had "sticking" issues seasoned it with oil prior to first use, as instructed in the manual.)

I purchased one from BB&B and, through careless cleaning, damaged the protective coating. I tried several places, including the manufacturer, to obtain a replacement griddle, but they just aren't to be had. Oster told me the item had been discontinued. However, I went back to BB&B and purchased a second unit. It works fine. I like being able to remove the griddle for cleaning. If you buy one, handle it with care, because you can't replace the griddle if it becomes damaged. I have had better griddles than this unit, but I like the convenience of the removable griddle. I rated it 3 stars since Oster won't back up their product by selling parts.

The interface in terms of setting the temp and on/off switch is great. However, this griddle became useless after about 6 pancake-making sessions. We always washed it gently and properly. It will now go to the giveaway section of the dump.

If you do buy it, note that you will likely need a high-wattage extension cord as the built-in cord is about 12 inches.

Cuisinox - Non-Stick Grill Pan

9.5' Non-Stick Grill PanIt works great on my induction cooking surface. I is non-stick and it is just the right size for two people. I would have given it 5 stars except for the folding handle. It would have been better if it was removable but it is easy to fold up and store. When I wash it sometime it folds upon my hand. I suppose I could give it another 1/2 star.

Bought this to use on my portable induction cooktop. It is the perfect size and is light with a folding handle with 3 layers of nonstick coating. Hand cast aluminum but induction ready so it must have a plate or something inside. Love it!

Pan works well in induction cook top. Fold up handle is a great idea. It makes storage easy. Non stick surface works well but is already wearing away.
