Texas Irons Double-Barrel Chicken Cooker

Texas Irons Double-Barrel Chicken CookerThis cooker works great! Easy to use and clean up is not to bad, either. I like that I can pour the liquid right into the cups instead of putting a can under the chicken.

I put this inside of a larger pan so the juices don't leak (had to bend the handles to make it fit). 400'F gas oven for 2 2 1/2 hours (depending on the chicken sizes). I fill up the "cups" with beer & citrus or cran juice & citrus and put the chickens over it, season the chicken skins, dump 2 bags of baby carrots in water in the pan and leave it be. Then we have a delicious, juicy chicken and carrot dinner. I hope to make some other variations later. Right now, I use it once a week. It's a little difficult to clean, and you definitely have to put it in a pan so it doesn't leak while cooking. Also, the 4 stars I gave it was because after pulling it out of the box (from TX, supposedly made in USA), I found a sticker saying "made in Taiwan" stuck to the stainless steel. Now, I don't know if it means the steel if from Taiwan or maybe the steel is American but the pan is made in Taiwan??? Anyway, it is great to be able to put a fulfilling dinner in the oven, go outside and work in the yard for a couple hours, and come back in to a delicious cooked dinner.

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Spicy Gourmet Ketchup, 13-1/2-Ounce

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Spicy Gourmet Ketchup, 13-1/2-OunceI've have so far purchased this brand twice, and both times the bottle cap was damaged with a slight bit of the sauce crusted around the rim.

thankfully the wrapper around the bottle has kept it clean and secure.

I do not think the broken cap is the fault of the shipping but rather the acids mixing from the sauce and building up pressure. Its really tangy and very acid so if you are prone to heartburn tread your pours lightly.

aside from that, its incredibly delicious and thick. It has a very smokey taste.Tastes a bit more like roasted peppers than actual tomato which might turn a few people off, but personally I love it.

definitely a different taste , with a great blend of spices and I totally recommend it

Texsport Cast Iron Griddle - 9-1/2-Inch x 20-Inch

Texsport Cast Iron Griddle - 9-1/2-Inch x 20-InchGreat Griddle. Fits my coleman camp stove perfectly. Item was shipped in sturdy box. It had no cracks or defects of any kind. The coating came of fairly easy. I lite my charcol grill off and heated it up over a hot bed of coals. Using oven mitts, I wiped of the coating with a paper towel. Repated the process afew times waiting about five minutes between wipes. Then, while coals were still hot, seasoned griddle with several coatings of bacon grease and left on grill till the coals were out and griddle was cool to the touch. Have take camping several times and have no complaints.

This is a great product. It is NOT seasoned. I put mine on our grill, wiped away the wax sealant (not much at all), poured oil on both sides and let it cook. After 15 min. it was already getting dark. I turned it a few times, added a bit more oil. All in all it did not take long or much effort and it turned out great. It is large and I've cooked pizzas on it (though it's obviously not meant for that. An iron pizza pan is more expensive though).

Love it.

Very nice and heavy. A bit longer than I thought, but fits well across the burners. I seasoned it on the grill outside like they said and it works great.

The first one I ordered was bowed, so I exchanged it for a new one. When the new one arrived, it was also bowed. Now it is being returned for good.

Cast iron is for even cooking if it is bowed, that's not going to happen.

It comes with a film of wax on it that it says to melt off, then clean it, then season it more work than any other cast iron items I've ever seen.

George Foreman GR0072P G-Broil Supreme Electric Nonstick Countertop Grill with Digital Timer, Silver

George Foreman GR0072P G-Broil Supreme Electric Nonstick Countertop Grill with Digital Timer, SilverThis is my first purchase of a George Foreman product, and I could not be more pleased! The grill is attractive, easy to clean, and can be stored on its side if you have limited space. Its features include a digital timer, and temperature control; very helpful. The instruction manual is informative, and gives cooking times for some of the things you might want to cook.

I got it with the idea that I would grill veggies in order to eat more healthfully, and make the occassional panini. It is great for both of these things. The top is adjustable, so you can raise it up and lock it to have a broiler function, great for melting cheese on burgers, etc. The adjustable top allows you to put thicker items into the machine as well.

I've eaten alot of grilled veggies in the last few days, and this product is an easy way to continue to eat healthfully. I highly recommend it! As for the wobbly plate issue, they do move a bit because they are detachable, but you should be able to get them in place with little effort, and instructions are supplied with the manual.

To get an idea of size, I would say that 2 extra large portabello mushrooms, or 4 medium burgers are a good fit.

Read the manual in its entirety to get the most out of the grill; helpful cleaning instructions for the grill and attachments (drippings tray and spatula), and advice, such as "do not use cooking spray on the grill". You can oil the grill lightly if you want, but since I am marinating my veggies ahead of time, I have not done so. I love it so much, I can't wait to try something new on it, like fish. A good purchase for me.

Fantastic unit!

Do not get me wrong, there are some bad grills from the Foreman camp (sorry George but even you, can't win them all)but this one beats out all of his other grills, if not by features alone. That out of the way, I'd like to say a word to the not too mechanical minded fellow who gave up on a great product by not understanding the unit in the first place. The plates fit a tiny bit loose but never fall off unless they were not on correctly in the first place or that the clips were damaged by someone or something. As to contacting with the heating elements, when the plates are on correctly, the cover weight in contact with the food will hold those plates against the hot surfaces. The single star poor reviewer did not bother to find this out and so lost out.

The features that this unit contains are more than almost any other indoor grill made at this price range.

1) Removable grill plates make clean up so easy. I do not use anything other than my hands to flake off the little pieces that stay on it after cooking. So handy!

2) The hinged two position cover is amazing. I leave it in the high position to melt toppings after cooking (cheese is my favorite) and the plate stays away from the topping without touching it.

3) the temp setting for different types of food works nice.

4)A timer. When you set this there is an audible beep that signals your food is ready to devour.

George's other grills have one, two, or three, of these features but I haven't found any other that has all four under one cover. this is the GR0072P Foreman grill.

If you see one out there grab it! A real Knockout!

Campfire Fire Place Tender Tongs, Extra Long 36-inch

Campfire Fire Place Tender Tongs, Extra Long 36-inchWe used this at our bonfire and they are definitely long enough but a little weak in the sturdy department. Everybody at the bonfire selected to use other tongs and not ours. They worried that they would break. They didn't break however.

These tongs are a little lighter weight than some of the other tender tongs I've seen, but it works for me since I use it in the backyard fire pit. Super fast shipping!

Chefmaster 13pc 13pc Barbeque Set Red Zipper Pouch Feature Stainless Steel Tube Handles

Chefmaster 13pc 13pc Barbeque Set Red Zipper Pouch Feature Stainless Steel Tube HandlesI purchased 2 of these. One as a gift, one for myself. It appears to be a bit of a crap shoot in terms of quality of the cases, the mail reason I purchased them. One of the cases was just fine. Not amazing quality, but certainly ok. The other was sew poorly and quite crooked resulting in an inability to store as much "extras" in one versus the one better sewn. Definitely only worth a price of about $25 or less for the set

The case does hold a number of extra things, ie a long nosed lighter, a knife with protective cover, some foil and a dishtowel. Nice for storage if nothing else. I don't think i'd want to put the dirty utinsils back in the case without wrapping the used parts in foil or saran wrap of grilling at a remote location without the ability to wash things up first. The case is not meant to be cleaned easily, simply used for transport and storage.

The tools themselfs have a good feel to them. The brush was the only piece that was sub par and looked like a used broom. Probably won't last more than a few uses and may loose pieces of the brush onto the food. I replaced my with a silicone one that is of a similar look.

I have medium female hands. All tools felt comfortable in my hands and worked well on the grill. No complaints there. You can easily swithch things out if you're using it at a remote location and only transport items you plan to use. i.e. leave the kabab things at home and put in something else. The case really is nice for transport, just wish it were better made. So far it's lasted one season with fairly regular use.

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware SetI really wish that people would not leave comments on cookware that they have had for less than a year. Of course when it's new, it's great. However, please note that the reviewers who have had theirs for more than a year are telling you it DOES scratch easily. This is a very expensive set for nonstick. I took very good care of mine because it was so expensive, I always handwashed my cookware and did not abuse it. But it still scratched after 3 months. Fortunately the company that I bought it from stood behind it and took it back, because Swiss Diamond's warranty is awful! Look at some of these reviews and you'll see that people who had to deal with the company are saying that Swiss Diamond keeps claiming "abuse". How convenient and shady of the company. The nonstick was great and it cooked nicely, but when mine scratched, I contacted the company and was given, in an email, "this warranty does not cover stains, discoloration, scratch marks, or dents". HUH??? What DOES it cover then? And once a pan is scratched it's ruined. So since it scratched so easily and the company does not stand behind their warranty, I decided to return the entire set rather than get stuck with a $500 set that will be just like any other nonstick set within a few years. Don't listen to reviewers who have only had theirs a short while look at the reviewers who have had theirs for awhile or have had to deal with the company. They are all saying the same thing it DOES scratch, get pits, and stains and the company does not stand behind it.

We spent a lot of money ($150) on the 12-inch sautee pan which is advertised as "virtally indestructable". We have been very careful with the pan. We don't use metal utensils, put it in the dishwasher, or use abrasive cleaners or scrubbers. The non-stick coating is pitting, flaking and coming off after only eight months.

The company told me that we could send it back (at our expense) and someone at the company would examine the pan and decide if they would repair the pan, give us a replacement or return the pan as is.

We are planning to return the pan, but we aren't too hopeful.

Having recently read quite a few reviews of other companies' non-stick cookware, it seems that this is a common problem. Caveat emptor!

I bought a Swiss Diamond Cookware Set about five years ago and some of the pans that I use daily are really starting to show "wear and tear." I contacted their Customer Service Department who seemed VERY interested in helping me decide whether some of the set needed replacement. I was asked to send pictures online and full documentation on when I bought them etc. etc. I responded immediately with what they asked for!

THEN, NO RESPONSE! I even sent an email to the person who originally contacted me...NO REPLY!

This cookware is VERY EXPENSIVE! I do NOT recommend it because NO ONE FROM THE COMPANY answered my questions regarding whether it was SAFE TO USE IN REGARD TO WEAR!

I've been bragging to everyone about how lovely this 8.5 qt. stock pot is because clean up is a cinch and the non-stick quality is superior. Recently, after cleaning the pan I noticed a scratch that revealed the silver-colored metal underneath the non-stick surface as well as several other aggravated areas on the rim. I couldn't imagine how that happened. After examining its glass lid, I noticed the metal band that goes around the circumference of it (and comes in contact with the pot's rim) joins together and creates an unconnected, albeit close, seam. When I touched it, it felt sharp. Ah-hah! This must be what caused the damage. It seemed logical to me. The representative from Swiss Diamond looked at it and claimed it was caused by a metal utensil being banged against the rim. User error. Needless to say I'm disappointed. I don't recall banging a metal utensil against the rim. It seems obvious to me that, as absurd as it may sound in theory, practically speaking, the pan damaged itself. I sure hope the damage doesn't spread. The other thing I've noticed is some of the non-stick surface on the bottom is pilling. I'm bummed out. I feel angry, but I can't fight "city hall". I just hope this isn't the beginning of further degradation of the pan I love so much.

I've been cooking for 50 years and have tried them all. This is the best line of cookware ever. It has all the right features: can be used in the oven, proper balance, excellent conductivity, totally flat bottoms, great non-stick (both inside and outside), the handles stay cool, just the right weight. However, don't believe the claim that you can use metal utensils. They can be scratched if you don't use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils. Treat them with care and they'll be your favorite cookware.

Wilton Recipe Right 10 Inch Round Non-Stick Cooling Grid

Wilton Recipe Right 10 Inch Round Non-Stick Cooling GridI use this cooling rack in my water bath canner. My cousin purchased a large stainless steel pot for me to use when canning. It's an odd size and the usual canning racks are too large. She gave me another rack that wasn't non-stick and it rusted immediately. I've used this one for the past year without a problem. It's great.

This was one of the cheapest cooling racks I found. Canning racks labeled as such are about 14$, this was much cheaper and it serves the purpose just as well, plus you can use it for cakes too.

To be fair, this product doesn't say it will work submerged. However, you should be aware that it WILL rust through its "non-stick" coating in short order if it is kept submerged. While I haven't washed it in the dishwasher, I would expect it would rust there also.

Weber 40020 Smokey Joe Gold Charcoal Grill

Weber 40020 Smokey Joe Gold Charcoal GrillWe love Weber grills and have been using a Smokey Joe Silver and larger Weber grills for 30 years. We like to camp and always bring our Smokey Joe with us so I purchased the Smokey Joe Gold becasue of the locking top and carrying handle. However, this grill has vents on the side, not on the bottom, so the air flow does not circulate through the coals as Weber grills are usually designed. It took twice as long to cook our food in the Gold as opposed to the Silver. It is good for transporting but not as good as the Silver for cooking.

This is the third little Weber I've had in the past 20 years I've never worn one out; the first two were stolen! I like the locking handle on the new model. One great feature of these grills is that when you are done cooking, you can close all the vents and the fire will go out in about 15-20 minutes, saving whatever's left of your charcoal for the next time. With the handle locked, it won't spill in the back of your pickup on the way home.

It really does do a great job of cooking, as good as the larger Webers, just for a smaller crowd. We had a Mulberry tree trimmed in our yard and I saved all the chipped up wood to use for smoke flavoring. You still need a charcoal fire for heat; just throw in a handful of chips before you put the meat & corn on the cob in and close the top vent down to make it smoke. Mmmmm, Mmmmm!

You can eat like a gourmet anywhere you tote this to! Just add a cooler full of longnecks.....

Buy Weber 40020 Smokey Joe Gold Charcoal Grill Now

I got this grill on the advice of a friend when we were in grad school. She'd been trying to save money, and bought a similar type grill from a different manufacturer. It didn't vent right at all, and she was right, this one does. Brand matters.

I've lugged it with me through something like 5 moves, and it's still fine. The grill has eventually accumulated rust, but it's nothing you can't scrape off at the beginning of the season, and besides they're always telling us we need more iron in our diets, right?

If I hadn't left it outside for a couple of winters the rust might not have happened. It doesn't look like it's going to wear out in my lifetime, so I guess I'll never have a chance to find out on a new one!

I like using the charcoal made of real wood chunks more than the compressed bricquettes (they don't last as long, but they taste WAY better).

Couple it with the Weber chimney starter, and you have a way of getting rid of junk mail, too! (Just don't burn paper with colored inks, *blech*.)

I fed 12 people on links and venison last Friday night with just one of these babies, started with the chimney (that part took only 30 min, honest to Gawd). Afterwards there were still enough coals left to roast marshmallows on fondue forks. (We didn't have real sticks available, OK? You use what you've got.)

I have a Diversitech grill pad under it to keep the heat and crud off my deck, and it works great.

Enjoy!

I had one of the original Smokey Joe grills when I was single (a long time ago). I used it at my apartment and took it on camping trips. It worked well at home, but it was a pain to take camping. It was tippy and always fell over in the truck, sending the grates, lid and kettle all over the place. The Gold model remedied that shortcoming. The lid locks down tight for portability. The tripod leg system still isn't as stable as a four-leg system would be but the Gold model is not as tippy as the standard model I used to have. (I wonder whatever happened to my old Smokey Joe?)

The Gold model also remedied the other shortcoming of the original Smokey Joe--that silly pan to catch the ashes and cinders. It never worked well, the vent in the bottom would clog up, the ashes blew all over the place in the wind and it was a royal pain to clean up. The Gold model holds the ashes in the belly of the kettle so there's less mess. I line the bottom of the kettle with aluminum foil, set fire to the charcoal and, after everything cools down, I just pick up the foil and dump the ashes with little left to clean up.

The Smokey Joe works great for indirect cooking of small roasts or other small, but thick, cuts of meat. Put the charcoal on a side of the kettle with a vent, put the meat on the other side. Close the vent on the kettle on the meat side, open the vent on the fire side, open the lid vent and put the vent holes over the side with the meat. It creates a draft inside the kettle that works extremely well. The size of the grill prevents true slow cooking but this modified indirect method works extremely well.

I have to disagree with a previous reviewer who said the venting system didn't work and the charcoal fire goes out. It just doesn't happen if you get the fire going properly to begin with. I love it that the vents are on the sides of the kettle instead of underneath the coals.

The Smokey Joe Gold is for our RV. It fits in the storage compartment and if it tips over it doesn't create a big mess. It's perfect for cooking and relaxing around an isolated campsite or adding a little downhomeness to those concrete parking lots they call RV parks that we sometimes have to use when traveling. It's a great improvement over the original Smokey Joe if you need a portable grill to take along with you.

Want Weber 40020 Smokey Joe Gold Charcoal Grill Discount?

As I was waiting for my smokey joe shipment to arrive, I decided to read the negative and positive reviews to see if I had made a good or bad purchase.

In the negative reviews, I read about how there was insufficient air drafting because the air vents were not located at the bottom of the grill and therefore the grill would not become hot enough. This problem is completely false! My smokey joe grill gets red hot!

Secondly, there were complaints about how there were no vents on the bottom so the ash could not come out like in the Silver edition. However, the new feature of having a closed base is soooo much better because it is much cleaner! If you're grilling in an apartment or on a deck, you can just close up the top and close the vents and save the coals for another time. Forget the mess of having ash flying around on a windy day because of an ash catcher! Oh and by the way, cleanup/removal of coals is as easy as dumping it in a coal bucket or a dumpster!

Finally, the ability to lock the top of the lid is a great feature because it makes transportation so much easier than if you could not lock the top like in the Silver.

So, if you are like me and are reading all these complaints about a lack of good draft because there are no vents on the bottom and such, forget them. Those people are morons! THIS IS A GREAT SMOKEY JOE!
