Amana 4.8 cu. ft. Self-Cleaning Electric Range, AER5830VAW, White

Amana 4.8 cu. ft. Self-Cleaning Electric Range, AER5830VAW, White
  • Adjustable Self-Cleaning Oven
  • Extra Large Oven Window
  • Glass Ceramic SpillSaver Upswept Cooktop with Ribbon Radiant Elements
  • Delay Bake Oven Control
  • Easy Touch Electronic Oven Controls

The Amana AER5830VAW Self-Cleaning Electric Range has been an excellent appliance so far. This is the first time I've owned an Amana, but I've owned/used several Whirlpool, Maytag, and GE ranges. Of course, these days many are all manufactured by one or two companies. The AER5830VAW has a good combination of aesthetic design and useful features.

I consider the look and design of this range to have a bit of a modern feel with classic details. The glass ceramic cooktop is sleek and inviting. The top of the range with the knobs and control center is a bit more classic. It does have an easy touch digital control center for timers, oven temperature, etc. The front of the unit is fairly standard, but I really like the extra-large oven window. That combined with a bright interior light gives you a great view of what is cooking without having to open the door.

The glass ceramic cooktop is great. So far, it's been easy to maintain and clean. The heating elements heat up very quickly. The AER5830VAW includes two 6" and two 10" elements with a good amount of spacing in-between them. If you are used to the standard heating coil ranges it will take a little getting used to, but I've really been enjoying the quick heating elements of the Amana and more even cooking.

The oven itself seems spacious and includes two racks. It has 4.8 cubic feet, which is standard or a little larger I believe, but it feels like it has plenty of room. While the self-cleaning feature isn't really anything new, it is nice to have and is adjustable based on how much cleaning needs to be done. Again, the large viewing window is definitely a nice addition. I felt like the oven was a little slow to preheat, but that could have just been my excitement (guess I should remember that a watched pot never boils). It has timed bake, as well as the ability to do a delay bake. The custom broil option is also nice, allowing you to broil delicate items at a lower heat. The oven door is nice and sturdy as well.

One downside is the storage drawer on the bottom. I've noticed that just about every manufacturer has started to neglect the storage drawer, using just a small flimsy system. Storage compared to my older range was probably cut in half, or at least it feels that way. Upon opening the drawer it doesn't stay on track as well and isn't really smooth at all. Again, this seems to be a trend with ranges today and not just this Amana model.

Overall, the Amana AER5830VAW is a nice looking unit that provides some great features. I'd give the unit five stars on the most important features: the oven and cooking surface. I really hesitated on whether to give it four stars or five stars overall. While the storage drawer isn't vital to the operation of the range, it did give it a bit of a cheap feel. Had the drawer been sturdier and the design a bit more modern I would have gone five stars all the way. But overall, I don't think you could go wrong with this range for its features and cooking ability.

I am a fan of this stove (the Amana AER5830VAW). First off, the measurements were spot on, and the 30" width was exactly right for the snug space it was fitted into between two cabinets, which is always a concern.

The glass cooking surface heats up VERY quickly, especially compared to my old Kenmore unit, which is pretty great. I've also found the surface very easy to clean all the way to the raised edges, and I haven't had any problem or concerns around chipping or scratching yet, and find the dark surface (i) contrasts nicely with the white body, and (ii) makes little splashes of spaghetti sauce or whatever much less noticeable than on some white surfaces. Plus, the surface really does look good.

While I haven't done this yet, the oven space itself is spacious enough to put a roasting pan with a turkey into it without feer that it is too tight. It has (possibly standard?!) 5 tray racks for raising/lowering the racks, so nothing too unusual there. It came with 2 racks. I like the big'ish window to be able to see your food cooking, which is vastly better than my old unit's, which would always force me to open the door (thus letting the heat out) to see how things were progressing.

The controls are fairly straightforward, with digital controls for some features like oven temperature and times, and the digital clock, and old-school knobs to control the burners. All of these seem to work without any real hassle, as they should. One minor grips is that I find the white knobs a little cheap looking compared to the rest of the unit but not enough to warrant a big strike against this stove; I just thought this was a little place where Amana could improve upon the product.

Below the oven is a small-medium sized drawer where you can store pots, pans, or whatever. I wasn't too impressed by this, as it seemed a bit light / flimsy compared to the rest of the unit. I'll be using it to store some flat pans and similar items which I don't use often, as I don't want to have to open/close the thing every time I want to get at any of my regular-use items.

Overall, I am very pleased with this product. It has performed very well, is stylish but not gaudy, has a good cooktop (which is what I use the most), and fairly straightforward functionality. I would recommend this product.

First of all let me say that Amazon's appliance program is a hit with me. The JB Hunt delivery service was flawless, and the installation folks were very professional and communicated well. I have had installation services from Sears and Home Depot, this program from Amazon was just as good if not better. I would have all the confidence in the world purchasing again.

On the the range:

The range itself is nice and simple in many of its features, except the actual stove top. Which is fantastic. The electric flat surface is really nice and is a bit of a "wow" thing when you first see it.

I personally had this unit installed in a rental property and the appearance is very "upscale" without being too much so.

The cooking surface is flat with a raised lip to catch liquids that spill and is super easy to keep clean, compared to traditional cooking surfaces.

Because the old range was hauled away, I couldn't do a completely unbiased "speed test" for boiling water (or other tests), but this range does seem to heat just as fast. The oven seems great and the larger window is nice. Although the claim on the extra large window seems a bit misleading ... or at least exaggerated a little .... most ovens now have a larger window compared to the much older units. But not so much compared to most newer units. So take that selling point with a grain of salt. I would not let that be your big buying point on this range.

What I would contemplate, is the super slick flat cooking area, coupled with some newer digital features and you have a quality oven that (seems so far) to work great and is also up to date with modern oven technology.

We're not professional chefs, but we are home cooks, and we have been using this range daily.

The Amana dimensions are: H:47" W:30" D:25" which must be a standard width and depth since it fit exactly where our old range used to be. It's a completely electric range with a digital clock/timer and different levels of self cleaning depending on how much you dirtied your oven (i.e. it basically just has different heat levels to burn off whatever food residue may have spilled). There are 5 rack positions and a "hot surface" indicator. I can't imagine using the delay bake function very often except maybe with bread, but it's still a nice added feature. The (2) 6 inch and (2) 10 inch burners give ample room on the range so there's no overcrowding of pots/pans.

Keep in mind that although a gas range is preferable for serious cooks, it's not the best idea when you have kids who may accidentally turn on the gas. The coil range is the cheapeast, but a smooth cooktop is so much easier to clean. This is a conventional oven (not convection).

I found that the overall satisfaction of the Amana brand was ranked low by JD Power, but keep in mind rankings were based on brand satisfaction and NOT by model/appliance. We actually have an Amana washer/dryer set which has lasted us 15 years without any sort of repair to date.

Very satisfied so far with this range but will update if any concerns arise.

I've been using this range for almost a month now and I've yet to find any problems. I had a convection Kenmore range for almost ten years prior to this one and both the oven and the cooktop are much better with the new range. The cooking surface heats up astonishing fast compared to any other range I've used and the oven cooks more evenly and I'm able to follow the instructions on most packages without burning whatever I'm making. I also like how the black stove top hides the burn marks much better than the white tops do. All controls are well placed and easy to understand and seeing the food in the oven is easy with the big window and bright light. So I would highly recommend this range to anyone that asked.

Minden Grill Company MMR1000 30,000-BTU Master Grill, Red

Minden Grill Company MMR1000 30,000-BTU Master Grill, RedI received the product with the incorrect item inside the box. I ordered a red grill but there was a green one inside the box. The outside of the box indicated the item inside should be red, so this was obviously a packaging problem somewhere. I had little time for the exchange as I had ordered the grill for an upcoming party. When I called Amazon to discuss the issue, at first the customer service rep said that they could just ship out a replacement for us with quick delivery( I don;t remember if it was next day or 2 day delivery but it was a short period). Then she said no she could not do that because Amazon no longer stocks this product. Later the product manufacturer told me they just sent a huge shipment to Amazon for this product when I called about a question on the setup. When I asked the Amazon Customer Service Rep whether Amazon could arrange a shipment from one of the other online vendors that it advterises this product for on Amazon which indicated they had the item in stock, she said no. I had to explain myself several times before she understood my request. When it finally came down to it, she said they could make those arrangements but that she could not guarantee next day delivery...even though she never even contacted one of those vendors to ask if it was possible...Then she told me we would have to pay extra charges if we wanted the correction made with a quick shipment. I finally ran out of time to deal with the person on the phone and the incorrect item and decided to keep it. It was a very frustrating 30-45 minutes of my time with the customer service person who was a very bad listener, kept interrupting me and talking over me and was not willing to attempt to look for creative solutions to the problem. Putting the grill together was a moderately sized task. It was designed for everything to fit together precisely and if there are any deviations in the alignment or if the product is slightly bent in spots, as mine was, you have to try to bend the parts or redrill bigger holes... All in all it took about an hour and were unable to get at least one of the screws into the product ...The final product is great though. We use the grill at least 3 days a week and love it. It heats up very well and fast and it looks great. I would suggest one enhancement to the product, if the left and right 'side tables' could collapse down to the sides or tuck into the back somehow, it would be ideal for making it less obtrusive in smaller spaces like ours.

This is a copy of my review for the exact same GREEN model of this grill. For some reason they are not listed as one item with color choices so I have posted the review for the other colors, having actually purchased the Green model.

*****See Update Below******

Having now had this grill for over a year, I would describe it as a decent quality grill for a fair price. I use this grill frequently, probably twice a week or more, even in winter. If you are an occasional user, you may find this a more ideal product.

The Good Points-

1) It looks great and is perfect if you don't want and over testosteroned massive stainless grill on your property.

2) The quality and functionality is decent.

3) If you get a hold of a real person at Minden, they are very nice and will go out of their way to help you.

4) Heats up very quickly.

The Bad Points-

1) You MUST purchase separately the stainless steel grate. The included enameled grate will wear out in less than one season.

2) The wood handle will also become moldy in less than a season. I extended it's life by using some spray varnish on it, but I would still prefer the stainless steel one (which I've seen at Williams-Sonoma on a version of this grill that only they sell).

3) The spatter plates become quickly rusty. Minden was nice enough to send me (essentially for free) 3 stainless steel ones.

4) Some of the bolts which hold the unit together become rusty over time, they should be made of stainless steel, but they aren't.

5) The grill does not evenly heat, and has hot and cold spots, which over time if you understand where they are you can compensate for them.

They really have the makings of a great grill with some small modifications, I would encourage them to change some parts to stainless steel (described above) and attempt to resolve the unevenness of the heating surface.

******UPDATE April 8, 2012********

After having this grill for about two years, I sadly have to conclude that it's not something I would buy again.

The rust has continued to the point where critical functioning parts are failing. The bracket for the trough which supplies gas from burner to burner has failed, causing the trough to fall off. I've managed to stick it back using some rocks so I can still use the grill.

The hot and cold spot issue seems to have gotten worse, and it's also now hard for me to get the grill started without pressing the start button 10 or 15 times.

Additionally, the threaded plastic gas tank hookup broke in half, and I had to replace it with a new one.

After doing some math, I've concluded that the cost of ownership of this grill is simply too high.

At 479, lasting two years, means 249/year (this does not include the MANDATORY cost of buying the Stainless Steel Grate)

***Conclusion: I've pretty much settled on purchasing the American Outdoor Grill Model 25PC (with back burner). It's basically the same physical size, but at 1650 is considerable more expensive. However, nearly every part on the grill is guaranteed for 10 years, with some parts being guaranteed for longer. Even if one figures that the all stainless steel, made in America grill will last for 10 years, the cost of ownership per year is only $165.

The Minden Grill is basic, but well designed and built to last. Assembly was easy, though having a helper around would be a good idea with the heavier components like the grill top. The grill heats quickly reaching about 550 in about 10 minutes. Temperature control is effective and simple. I like the modular approach to accessories. So far cleanup has been a snap. It is a relatively compact grill with clean lines. It continues to exceed my expectations and represents a real value in quality grills at its price point.

Suncast C3600G Utility Storage Base Cabinet

Suncast C3600G Utility Storage Base CabinetI have it on my deck right next to the hot tub. I put a DVD player and a LCD monitor inside, along with the chemical for the hot tub. It has gone through hot sun, rain storm, and snow. Pretty much weather proof. It has a little latch at the bottom to keep the door close. Great product!

I read the reviews on Rubbermaid storage and sure glad I did buy that junk. This is made pretty good. It has a foot latch on the bottom and a place for a lock on the top of the doors. I'm not sure yet if anyone makes a lock that will fit it though. Ordinary padlocks won't work. You may be able to find a long hasp lock that will fit. I have two split rings and a small lock on it right now. Not much security but it keeps honest people out. I have it on my newly built patio and I attached 2 X 6's to the wall and screwed the cabinet to them. So at least someone can't walk away with it.

You need to get some small screws and nuts to hold it together. It pretty flimsy but is okay when you add your own screws. Nothing like Rubbermaids junk though. There are no black holes or other items in the nightmare reviews like those on Rubbermaid. I'm an aerospace design engineer so I see plenty of design features that could be better. But for the $69 I paid for it and a few screws it's okay.

The plastic was slightly more flimsy than I expected, so even though it assembled in under ten minutes, there were places where things did not seal as tightly as one might like. It will certainly do the job I want it to do, and the price was right compared with other, similar items. If you are thinking of buying the tall version of this, I would think twice. But if you just want it for light storage duty, it's perfectly adequate.

Read Best Reviews of Suncast C3600G Utility Storage Base Cabinet Here

I bought two of them. Once assembled, the cabinets are flimsy but useful if you take care with loading and unloading items. The front door on one of them is poorly fitted but works. The bottom shelf also slips out of it slot under heavy load. The other fits fine. The cabinet is made of plastic with not a lot of structural strength. My original plan was to stack them one on the other but I'm not going to now that I've seen the completed cabinet. Assembly is moderately easy, the only complication being the installation of shelves into flimsy support slots.

Want Suncast C3600G Utility Storage Base Cabinet Discount?

Ordered this cabinet to store gardening supplies in the back yard. With the addition of some various sized baskets was able to neatly store all of my gardening tools, gloves, plant food, soil, bonsai pots, etc.. The interior stayed dry, even during some pretty serious downpours. The top provided some much needed extra workspace, too. All was well until I decided to store birdseed and peanuts inside. I used lock-n-lock containers to store everything, but this morning I went out to fill the feeder and found that the top of the cabinet, around the edges, had been chewed up pretty badly. Anyone who has dealt with squirrels knows that they are very smart, and the ones that live around me are downright rude when it comes to food (they will come right up and look in the window if you haven't been out to fill the feeder yet!). Guess I was a little too late with peanuts today, so they decided to help themselves. Haven't figured out a way to repair the damage. Hoping I can order a new top, but it will probably be more cost efficient to just buy a new cabinet (it's that good an item).

Bear Paw Meat Handler Forks

Bear Paw Meat Handler ForksI bought these for the sole purpose of pulling smoked pork butts for pulled pork sandwiches. These make the task so much easier than using large forks. I pulled two six-pound pork butts in under five minutes. These things are great!

Being a "former" fork pulling pork puller, I have to say that the Bear Paws is a great gadget to have on hand.

The first weekend I had the paws, I was cooking 40 lbs of pork butts.

I literally pulled all 4 butts in less than 20 minutes, whereas is with forks each butt might take 15 minutes alone.

Great buy!

Buy Bear Paw Meat Handler Forks Now

I love the other reviewer's idea of using these to pull pork, but I bought the bear paws so that I could finally pick up and move large, roasted objects securely, from off of the flames, or just out of the roasting pan--and they do a fantastic job for both. Folks, this is a very simple item that will make a very simple cooking task MUCH friendlier to perform. There's not a lot to say about a pair of claws you use to pick up hot stuff, except: Where have they been all my life?

I can't understand why the cooking stores have bear paw shaped salad tossers, but not these, which answer a much more immediate and (because of the temperatures involved) important kitchen need than how to move a piece of lettuce or two around in a bowl. Thankfully, we can get them online!

As advertised. I thought that the plastic would have been made more durable. After just a few uses pulling some pork tenderloin's, the ends curled up a bit so they are less effective now. I didn't pull the pork when it was super hot either so they didn't melt down. I think they would be better if they were metal.

These bear paws are great for shredding slow cooked or smoked meats. The also double as a great self defense product. While going outside to take out my smoked pork which had been smoking for nearly the entire day, a hooligan jumped the fence to my yard and demanded food. I was able to fend him off with the bear paws.

Tuscan 29" Round Wrought Iron Wall Grill Plaque Fleur De Lis

Tuscan 29' Round Wrought Iron Wall Grill Plaque Fleur De Lisi was very impressed with this item for the price. I have looked around in stores and have come across similar items higher in price value. it goes so well with the room and it was shipped very quickly

This looks just like it did in the photo and the description was accurate but would have preferred it to be flat instead of concave. The way is sticks out from the wall does not look very good for my intended location but I will just move it somewhere else instead of sending it back.

Jackson Series Grill Tools

Outset QJ91 Jackson Stainless-Steel Steakhouse Knives with Rosewood Handles, Set of 4Solid and impressive. Enhances the steak eating experience. Nice looking and a nice weight and handling in your hand. Do not hesitate to buy.

I gave this set to my husband last father's day. They were a perfect gift and he loved them. The set is very sturdy and the handles are long enough where you won't burn your hand or fingers. The wood is still great looking even after a few washes. Love the Outset line, their items are unique and very modern.

Just received this set in the mail. First Impression is that it's even more beautiful than it looked on line. Outset seems to be a cut above the rest of the field in grilling tools. I actually only got the whole three piece set because it was the same price, on sale, as the tongs alone. Was going to just get a set of Xtra long OXO stainless tongs, and saw the Outset Jackson's, which have same lockable design, but the sweet rosewood and extra length. So far so good, I'll update after I use them for a while as to the quality. I think I might just grab a few more sets of these to give as gifts for discerning grillers on my list.

I thought they were very eye appealing, but was disapointed with their ability to pick up things. They do not meet at the bottom to grab things small, they move from side to side also adding to the problem of lifting things up, I would not recommend them for these reasons.

HAAN HS-20R Handheld Steam Cleaner with Attachments

HAAN HS-20R Handheld Steam Cleaner with AttachmentsI purchased this product after enjoying the Haan SI-35 steam floor mop. The SH-20 R, has been a great addition to to the floor mop. I purchased the red color only because the floor mop is red. There is no difference between the mango yellow model and this unit, except for color. The first job was to tackle the door track on the sliding glass door. It blew out the corner crud in a most exciting way. The unit does get HOT, so I'd suggest reading the book well before using it. The second job was to clean around the kitchen sink, stove, window tracks, and the intricate door pulls on our cabinets in the kitchen. It did a very fine job on all of those tasks. If you want perfection, then, this might not suite you. But, you will get a very useful tool and save a lot of extra scrubbing. It does 95% of the job, then, you wipe up the loosened unwanted dirt. It is nice and clean when you finish. Maybe, you could compare the cleaner to a microwave vs a regular oven in the type of tasking it does. When you finish, you feel you've cleaned well, sanitized, and made yourself happy for having done it. The knob where you put water into the unit fits tight and I'm guessing it's for safety reasons, you must push down to disengage the knob to turn it. Overall, the unit is a fine addition to help with cleaning. It might not get used everyday, but when you need a little extra boost and some hot steam to blast away unwanted dirt, this little steamer will do the job. You will want to have several micro cloths available to wipe up the extra water and dirt that is removed when steaming. I would recommend this unit and am very pleased with the results.

I might add that the water capacity in the unit is about 1 cup and will last about 15 minutes. Some folks don't like the idea of refilling frequently, it is a bit annoying when you're on a roll, but the size factor is what makes that necessary. If the steamer was bigger, the weight & portability would be gone. You also have to wait about 3 minutes between heating sessions to get your full steam blast again. It wasn't a problem because during those heating periods you can use that time to wipe up the newly steamed areas. For me, it didn't seem a big deal, but if you'd like things to happen without refilling a few times, it might not work for you. The time saved and ease of cleaning far outweigh the heating and water capacity limitation. It also worked wonderfully on the stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher. It seems to get sticky stuff off areas that you can't get off the usual cleaning way ,everything feels slick and smooth. I wouldn't want to clean without the little gadget.

So 1st I wrote a 2 star review because out of the box i put my hand to the steam and I felt no heat. I emptied it and immediately was going to send it back. But than I said well let me try again and make sure I put the EXACT AMOUNT in the container. I even backed off a little under the line. BOOM HOT AS HELL!!! IT WORKS! For me, I use it to freshen the dog beds so I don't have to wash them everyday. This way, I can kill the odor germs! Now as far as the heat...POW, I put it on my Range Chimney, which...I don't wipe down as often as I should and WIPED THE MELTED GREASE right off!!! I don't know why people are complaining about a bigger tank? Why so its bigger in weight? This way, The steam heats up in an instant and so you can fire the canons again and again. I think I will set up the container in the bathroom where I can ZAP all the faucets and toilets like all the time!!! Dont forget you can disinfect your toothbrush as well and pillows to freshen them up and kill bed bugs or whatever. I took a chance and bought the Warehouse deal and it was fine! I think this is the only model that actually says it heats up to 212 degrees to truly disinfect on contact. The other brands do not say that. Ok...thats my review and its for real!!!

Buy HAAN HS-20R Handheld Steam Cleaner with Attachments Now

Bought this same unit at a local store. It's about the size of a tea kettle, with a good long cord. Easy to use in one hand. The screw-in cap at the top is a solid brass fitting under the plastic cap, and designed so that at temperature and pressure it will not open. Pushing down on the knob locks it into the mechanism so that you can loosen it from the fully-closed position, or tighten it all the way down. Much easier to use than a medicine bottle, but same basic principle.

The nozzle is a brass tube inside the plastic -this is a theme. Good metal interior with good plastic covering so you have to try to burn yourself on anything. The attachments are useful. The main one, the long nozzle, is an extension of the brass tube in plastic, and gives good pressure out the end. The extension hose is very useful, because with the fixed attachments you will spray water if you tip the unit sideways. The extension lets you get steam at angles you couldn't otherwise. But it also wastes some of the heat in the process, over the extra length. This isn't a total disadvantage -not every surface takes well to full heat. And the flat surface attachment (which comes with a bonnet) is quite good for steaming soft surfaces. Five holes, a good spread of steam. My couch hasn't looked this good since we brought it home! And between the extension and the surface tool, sanitizing yoga mats is easy. I haven't used the brushes or the small angle tool yet.

As to how much steam you get per fill: I can go over my couch (3 seat and back cushions plus pillows) fairly thoroughly and have some left. The trick is to use short bursts. The longer you hold the trigger, the less steam pressure you get over time.

What it's not: a miracle tool. It's quite good on mostly-clean hard surfaces. It will help release long-term dinge with alternating scrubbing. Heavy or deep grunge requires help from a cleanser -use the steam after letting the product have a go. And it's not much good against mildew on porous surfaces; bleach is still your best bet. But it gets glass cleaner than you've ever gotten it with a spray. It's a nice addition to the cleaning arsenal, and it's easy to pull out, use up a tank, and put away again.

I went through 2 other models of steamers before finding this one. the shark all-pro lift away (good if you do not want powerful steam) and the haan SI75 (again, good if you dont want a powerful steam jet). this little hot-shot is exactly that! It really does blast away dirt, grease, grime, you can even dust with it. it came with every attachment needed to do a full days list of chores. there is only ONE downside, the cable is too short. everything else, great, great product. i even ordered one for my mom.

Was not expecting a really capable machine at this price; boy was I surprised.

1. Power cord is long enough to reach what you are working on,

2. Unit has more adapters and steam heads than any unit I looked at.

3. Although only having a small 6 oz capacity it allowed more working time than I imagined.

4 The plastic filling cup is a nice touch.

5 Unit has extra wands and a terry cloth tip cover for larger areas.

After living in Republic of Korea for over 17-years, I trust HANN electrical items, I have used their irons, humidifiers, and small heaters; this appliance also appears to be well made.

Mr. Bar-B-Q Nonstick Shish Kabob Setthis is truely a must have. the flat non-stick skewers holds everything in place, they won't flop around so the unbalanced pieces of food are always on the bottom near the heat. a friend told me about these at gander mountain selling for $7.39 a set, but i checked here 1st and found them for $5.99 a set. i ordered 5 sets!! the skewers are 14" long for plenty of food. get yours today, don't wait. get at least 2 sets.

This a nice starter kabob rack and worth for the price..It does a good job and easy to store....Turning over the kabobs doesn't work all that well, but overall, i'm happy with the performance and would like to order more of it...

So I just bought and used some of these earlier today (bought it at a Ross down the street). I cooked up some chicken and vegetables in my oven though, not an actual bbq, but I'm in an apartment so I had to make do with broil. Anyways the items cooked a lot faster than I thought they would, this item is neat because unlike bamboo skewers these metal ones conduct the heat from the frame into the skewers into the food, so they heat from the outside convection heat and conduction heat from the frame.

Overall they're nothing too fancy, its a pretty essential kit. The frame itself is somewhat sharp edged, the corners and the long edges. It be nice if they had ground down these edges before applying the nonstick surface, but I just try not to apply too much force to the frame when folding and unfolding it.

It seems a fine enough product, so far I'm content. We'll see how it holds up in durability next!

I thought this Kabob set was terrific. I ordered 3 and got one free and free two-day shipping with Prime. They work really well, no need to worry about soaking wooden ones. And they fold for easy storage. We used them for a big cookout, made tons of Kabobs at once. They were a big hit!

It does what it says. It is a good product. Howver, I wish I had just bought some really nice skewers instead. Keep your grill clean, brush it with some oil, and it'll be non-stick anyway. This didn't work too good with grilling shrimp. It keeps the food up off of the grill, so you don't get the grill marks or charring until the food is overcooked. That's my opinion anyway.

NCAA Duke Blue Devils Fiero 5-Piece BBQ Tool Set With Case

NCAA Duke Blue Devils Fiero 5-Piece BBQ Tool Set With CaseGot the BBQ set for my husband.. and we love it! The only thing I would change is that the case does not open all the way flat. Other than that, it's beautiful, and makes a wonderful gift.
