We own a Kenmore grill which had really terrible grates. This was one of Kenmore's removable grate system that we thought would work out well. But the grates that came with the grill were not working for us. They were wider than normal grids and heat distribution was a problem. As a result of that, food would get stuck on it and it was close to impossible to clean them. And of course cleaning them after every grill use was just a waste of time. Didn't leave me any time to enjoy an extra beer :).

But these grates are nice. They are close to what you get with a Weber or a more expensive grill. They are cast iron and porcelain coated which makes for even heat distribution. We threw some steaks on them right out of the box and they worked fantastic. Also, they come in three separate pieces and were a perfect fit for our grill. I would highly recommend these as replacement grill grates.

Came in a timely manner, and was exactly what I ordered. It was well packaged and fit the grill. I forgot how well my grill worked when the parts are clean. I would recommend getting new insides at least every two years.

Since my grill is on my roof deck in San Francisco and my house is 2 miles from the ocean I get a lot of fog / moisture. I got two of these to use for the holiday for personal fondue. The amount of chocolate it holds is perfect for two people although the plate needed to be refilled with goodies for dipping. Overall we thought it was a great set-up and perfect size. Also a nice option for serving different types of fondue for the table by using multiple sets.

This is the most attractive, and most expensive, personal fondue set I have found. It has the typical downside of heating the bottom of the fondue more than the top, and slightly defeats the purpose of fondue (the communal experience) but for two people it is a nice size. The plate is a bit small for all the munchy goodies but really is best for resting cheesy forks and too-hot fondue. The fork is a bit bizzare and hardly ergonomic, but holds food nicely. I like that it is two solid pieces of ceramic, which makes cleaning fairly easy.

When my husband and I were staying in Denmark over the holidays we went to a fabulous store in Copenhagen. We found individual fondue pots for our German granddaughters and we had lots of fun with them. I immediately bought my chocoholic husband 2 sets when we came back to the U.S. and shared a yummy dessert with my equally chocolate addicted brother-in-law! When Valentine's Day rolled around we decided to buy sets for our eleven year old granddaughters. They loved them! The reason that I bought this particular set is the safety factor for younger users. The sets that we have have a removable dish for the chocolate on top and it becomes quite warm and would be easy for a child to knock over. This set is one piece, still uses tea lights for melting the chocolate and seems to be pretty stable. The girls loved the serving plates and forks and shared a chocolate Valentine with their mom and dad. I would suggest lighting the tea lights when you have the set where you want it instead of carrying around a lit fondue pot (adults, too!). Now I need to buy one of these for my brother-in-law. He has MS and I know that he will find this set easier to use than the ones I bought for us. He literally licked the bowl clean and the kids will, too!

My wife and I are so fond of our George Foreman grill, we've given it a nickname, something no other home appliance, small or big, has ever inspired us to do. Right out of the box, "The George" squashed our skepticism over the hype of all those ubiquitous TV commercials and turned us into grillin' fools. Especially when time is a factor, oven preparation can't hold a candle to The George, whose speed and efficiency has made late-night suppers, once an unpleasant consequence of our odd work schedules, a thing of the past. The savory grilled goodness of steaks, hamburgers and chicken is mere minutes away when The George does the cooking. Hot dogs, ready in just a couple of minutes, are ballpark-tasty and have become a family favorite. Onions, bell peppers and other healthy veggie sides are delicious, too.

Before I took the suggestion of another Amazon reviewer of placing moistened paper towels between the grilling surfaces to soften cooking residue, clean-up was a horrible onus that took way too much time, elbow grease and cussing, because I had foolishly allowed the stuck-on mess to congeal and harden. The paper towel method is ingenious, it works great, and I can't recommend it enough.

It's easy to see why Consumers Digest named the George Foreman grill a "Best Buy" two years running. For versatility, ease of use and reliability, I also give it my highest mark.

I have had this model for 2 years and we use it almost every day. This is the one small appliance I can't live without. This is the third Foreman grill model I've owned in about 7 years. The first was great, but too small to cook for the whole family at one time. The second was big enough to cook for the whole family, but too big most other times. This model is perfect. Use the whole thing for a crowd or use half for a burger or two. The temp is adjustable from 300-400 (This is a VERY important feature. In the earlier models without an adjustment some foods could burn on the outside befor they were cooked through)

It does a SPECTACULAR job with bacon and other breakfast meats, boneless chicken breast, burgers and veggies. It does a GOOD job with bone-in chicken and meats.

My one complaint about these foreman grills is that the non-stick coating begins to flake off after about 500-600 uses (about 2 years in my house). It's a testiment to how useful they are, that when the coating begins flaking off I NEVER even think about not getting a new one. I just happily fork over the money for a new improved model. I think of it as only cost 5 cents per use, which is alot less than the per use cost on my bread machine, food processsor expresso machine etc...

This is a wonderful appliance. It is easy to operate...place the drip pan flush against the legs under the front of the machine (my first time to use the grill, I didn't push the tray against the front legs, so runoff dripped on the counter til I noticed it). Plug it in, and push the on/off button(s). It takes five minutes to heat up and it beeps when heated. Place items on the grill and set time by pushing another button (when I did this the first time, I kept pushing the on/off button by mistake :(, but no harm done). Again, the grill beeps when done. The first items I cooked were pork chops that I'd dipped in bar-b-que sauce. I set the timer for five minutes and they were cooked to perfection. When finished cooking, turn the power off, unplug the machine and wait til it cools before cleaning. Cleanup is super easy using a damp papertowel or soft cloth moistened with water. We've also cooked salmon steaks on the grill and they were very tasty. Our family loves grilled food and the GF grill has been very satisfactory.

I am very happy with the Double Knockout Grill. We've used it a couple of times, and so far, it has proven itself worthy of a 5 star rating. I am getting used to cooking times, the times listed in the instruction booklet seem to be a little too long, unless you really like your meat extra well done. Clean up is a snap, using the wet paper towel method, as suggested by other reviewers. (Yes, I did research this product pretty extensively before making a decision and purchasing.)

After working 12 hours a day, it's nice to know that I can have dinner on the table in 10 minutes. 5 minutes to warm it up and prep veggies or a side dish, and 5 minutes to cook dinner. Gotta love it.

Clean up isn't bad if you do it while it's still warm. I use a lot of water on a wad of paper towels and for the most part it's quite easy to clean. Only some of my marinades seem to make it harder to clean.

I've been using my grill for about a year and it still looks and works like new. I say buy it, you'll love it.

As for the two sides, it works great for me because I can cook my meat for 4 minutes and the hubby likes his cooked a little more, so we both get our meat cooked to our liking.

Brinkmann 9021 Shish Kabob Set

Straight out of the box, I managed to make three batches of perfect kebabs on my first attempt with this set. Yes, I bought three sets. Beef, Mediterranean lamb, and Asian chicken all turned out perfectly. The points are sharp enough to pierce meat and vegetables, but dull/safe enough that they don't pierce your fingers. The skewers are flattened just enough that they're still small (didn't split onions), but the chicken didn't spin around like it can do on single wooden skewers. Some reviews suggested that the meat was not resting on the grill it's not really supposed to be, indirect heat works best. The height of the stands was perfect for 1-1/4" cubes of meat and vegetables to just lightly contact the grill(1-1/4" cubes are ideal for slight char on outside yet still cooked through over med-high heat without overcooking veg).

So, perfect results, why not 5 stars? I'm giving a 4 out of 5 for three reasons the frame folds, and can be a little tricky on the grill lifting the skewers to turn them (probably just need to get used to them). The rings at the top of the skewers have a slight gap, and when they don't have food on them, they tend to get stuck to each other worse than a bunch of empty clothes hangers. The notches where the skewers rest in the frame are rounded at the bottom, so the skewers sometimes want to rotate to one side or the other (hard to control the precise angle critical for 90-degree rotation every 2-3 minutes.)

Two of these fit on the grill at the same time (I've just got an average-sized propane grill). Just make sure to place the rings on the outside on both sets (away from each other) for ease of access with tongs for rotating.

THe prongs do the job but if you insist on using the accompanying rack you are out of luck. Everything becomes to crowded very quickly and you can't really fit everything on there -as shown in the picture. Blah Blah Blah -I still use it.

This Tunisian (yes, it's made in Tunisia) wall timer does exactly what it's supposed to do...keep an electric device on for a certain period of time. Installation was fairly easy, though the way the wires connect is a little odd. Despite its appearance, this particular model is designed to be used with a switchplate with an opening for a standard light switch (the ones that are roughly 1/2" wide X 1" high). The white cover with the timer marks on it sits on top of the light switch plate and is held on with a nut.

The unit seems pretty well constructed and doesn't feel flimsy. I've had good luck with Intermatic products in the past, and have some confidence that this unit will last a while.

It works very well but unlike other brand I got in the past this one will not manually unwind to stop. You must wait for the full time to run out!

We have had one for 7 years in our old house bathroom fan, used many times per day. We just put 4 timers in our new house, and they all are working great.

Nobody seems to want to just leave a bathroom fan on when they leave, but it is easy to dial this in so it runs for a bit then turns itself off later. Seattle is almost always damp, so you want to lessen the effects of moisture whenever you can. We do at least 30 mins after a shower (and sometimes come back and dial in another 10 or 15 mins). When using the commode or just brushing teeth, we dial it in to pull out moisture if not something more odious. Every bathroom fan everywhere should have a timer.

I know there are digital electronic ones available, but I like the action of these. Easy to operate in the dark, or if you want to reach in and give it twist on quickly without looking.

Simply Calphalon Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle

A really fine pan for those weekly pancake breakfasts. Not as heavy as the more expensive Calphalon pans, but works just as well. I use it with a bamboo spatula so expect it will last for many, many years. Only disappointment is that it was made in China, not Ohio, like my other Calphalon pans, but that probably explains the good price.

This griddle is great for grilling toasted sandwiches, making pancakes, even frying eggs 'sunny side up' on your stove top. Being 11", it fits nicely over one of the large burners of my stove, so it heats evenly. I can easily cook three 'quarter-cup-of-mixture' pancakes, or two sandwiches, or four eggs at a time. The low edge makes flipping very easy.

The exterior is a dark gray non-chip hard anodized aluminum, and does not seem flimsy in any way. The interior a non-stick interior surface, which makes clean up a breeze. As with all the pieces of the "Simply" Calphalon line, it has a chrome handle with a silicone inlay for heat transference, so you pick it up without a potholder.

I am glad I purchased this as an additional piece to my new "Simply" Calphalon set. This griddle (as is the "Simply" Calphalon 10-piece set I added it to) is made in China.

I have found for pancakes (and omelettes) you need to buy a good quality pan and this Caphalon has been great. It gives even heat, which is really important for good pancakes. It is a bit big to store but still smaller than a typical 12 inch large frying pan that most families have. I am very careful to use a Silicon Caphalon large spatula to keep the surface nice. But so far, so good, the surface has held up so far.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle

Our Calphalon griddle was "dead-flat" and worked very well when it was new; I would have rated it at 5 stars.

Unfortunately, after about a year or so, the bottom bulged downward; so much so, that it rocks to and fro on the very center of the griddle on our glass-top electric range. [My wife had always cleaned it in hot water, since we knew putting a hot griddle in cold water could cause this to happen.] It's still usable but most of the griddle's bottom no longer touches the range's glass top.

We replaced the Calphalon with a Circulon Elite Nonstick 12" Round Griddle; its bottom doesn't bulge. The Circulon is also aluminum, but has a heavy bonded-on stainless steel bottom plate. The total thickness of the bottom is about 3/8", versus 1/8" for the Calphalon.
