Charcoal Companion Nonstick Large Size Smoker Box with Hinged Lid

Charcoal Companion Nonstick Large Size Smoker Box with Hinged LidWorks great. Fits right under the grate above the flavorizer bars and produces a good amount of smoke. I like the black rather than the stainless because it does not discolor as bad after use. I also like the hinged lid because if it warps, it still opens and closes with ease unlike fitted lids. In addition, my experience has been that it produces more smoke than homemade packets of aluminum foil and is certainly more convenient. Very happy with this purchase.

This smoker is a good value. I use it every time I BBQ and the smoke flavor is great. Its very sturdy and well built. Very easy to clean. I have had good results with it even sitting on the grill, rather than the grates. I start this off for about 15 min before I put the meat on as it gives it time to smoke the wood. Once you try it, you will not grill with out it!

I use this for my smoker. I wish it was more of a square box as my smoker flame is circular, but it works well none the less. The metal is a lot thinner than the cast iron box I was using, so the heat penetrates the metal a lot quicker and the smoking starts a lot sooner. I like this because the quicker the smoke hits the meat, the more it'll penetrate it. I've had it maybe 4 months now and been used about 10x's, still going strong. Will not last as long as a cast iron box, but it was cheap.

Bought this to use with my Weber Genesis E-330. Fits perfectly under the grates and across the burner. Put some wet wood chips in and it does what it is supposed to do, create smoke. Very reasonably priced and seems like it will last a while.

UPDATE: 1-year later and still going stong.

This smoker box is mainly for use with a gas grill, but it would work with a smoker. I purchased it for use in a Brinkmann electric smoker. The smoker box is well made and was shipped quickly. I am satisfied with the smoker box and recommend it.

Ronco Showtime Digital Rotisserie and BBQ - Platinum Edition

Ronco Showtime Digital Rotisserie and BBQ - Platinum EditionMy father gifted us with this rotisserie a couple years ago. We love it. I lined the back guard with tin foil (behind the heating elements) and each time I cook, I line the catch tray with foil, as well as the piece that goes on top of it, taking time to cut slits in the same places as the tray so the drippings will still run off into the drip pan. Cleanup is a snap. I just toss the foil from the trays in the trash and use a little hot water and soap to clean off the rest. I don't replace the foil on the back guard every time, just wipe it down along with the rest of the oven inside and door, and it comes clean.

We have used this rotisserie a lot and it still performs as well as the day we got it. No squeaking that I'd read about in some reviews. The kabobs are a little tricky to get the hang of (I have a hard time getting them all connected without one or another popping out, but once all are in place, they stay put). The basket accessory is really nice for fish, burgers, and steak pieces too small to fit on the large skewers. We like this oven so much, we've even entrusted it with the holiday roasts for our family gatherings.

I bought a used Ronco Rotisserie on Craigslist 2 years ago. I wish I had splurged 20 years ago!! This is the best kitchen accoutrement there is. I have roasted a gamut of meats. It is super easy to thread a chicken on the skewers and if you put the heaviest end of whatever you are roasting toward the attached or "Bottom" wheel then load it on the left side (as you face the oven), with the wheel you attach supporting the smaller end of the meat on the right side of the contraption, after impaling your chicken, turkey breast, prime rib, or pork roast you will find the weight distribution fine if you pay attention! There will be no squeaking. Just a few hints I recommend.

1. When your roaster is brand new start using cooking spray on the removable parts. Wash after each use and re-spray. Don't forget the curved guard behind the heating element! It could be that covering this smoothly with foil will do the trick as another reviewer suggested. Otherwise this is an easy oven to clean. (No pun intended!) The "broiler tray" underneath washes off easily after a couple minutes in hot water in the sink during normal cleanup, I would NEVER bother with covering in foil, don't bother! Do NOT scratch it, or foil it!!!... too much work!! I remove the door and put it in the dishwasher for crystal clean glass. I suggest you wipe out the walls each time you roast, there is a bit of splatter. Also remember to give your roaster the respect it deserves.. ROOM from flammable items. Don't tuck it under the cabinet to "Superheat" I keep mine on a cutting board and pull it out a bit so the heat will not effect it's little storage space on the counter under my cabinet.

2. Completely thaw before roasting, in water is best for a fast thaw. If you cook with the inside of the chicken is still stiff, you will not get an optimum roast it could show pink near the cavity bone.

3. Think outside the box! First dry your meat! Then enjoy coating outside and inside of bird or your meat with olive oil, and spices... Our thanksgiving with 18 people was a super success, I roasted a HUGE bone in turkey breast to augment the 22 Lb turkey, as there are so many who prefer white meat.... I never even thought that my Rotisserie would become entertainment, but everyone wanted to watch it and the aroma was heavenly!

I researched this Set and Forget It rotisserie before ordering it. There were many "con" reviews, but I decided they would be the ones to be most vocal anyway. I got the digital model since most of the bad reviews concerned the dials on the other models. So far I've done two chickens and a turkey for Thanksgiving and have been very pleased with the way the food has turned out. I'm looking forward to trying it with other things.

Real nice product for the money, this is my 2nd one. First one lasted over seven years and only died because I had it pushed up to close to the electric outlet and melted the cord... my bad... If you like prime rib you will just love this product, great for cooking whole chickens or chicken parts also. You can't go wrong with this product.

The product appears well made and I've so far been quite successful with cooking a pork loin roast, a beef rib roast, a hamburger steak, a flounder filet, and a 9# turkey breast, and all have turned out great. I think I've learned enough now to risk a good steak next! The owner's manual could be a bit more detailed , but I figured it out OK.

Biggest complaint is that the one way clip on the left side door pin slot should not be there, and I may perform a little surgery there. Then you could, after allowing door to cool down, easily remove it and take it to the sink to more easily clean it.

Weber 6495 Cast-Iron Brush

Weber 6495 Cast-Iron BrushThis is a short handled brush. It works well to clean the grates of my Weber 1810001 Summit S-420 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel and my Weber 781001 Gold One-Touch 26-1/2-Inch Kettle Grill, Black. The bristles are very hard (not soft) and they adequately get off caked on grease and food particles. I only wish the handle were a tiny bit longer. I like to clean my grill when it is still hot and the short handle means that my knuckles get quite warm.

Works well in conjunction with the Weber 6424 21-Inch T-Brush.

good quality, seems it will last a long time and at the right price. It fits between the grates of the BBQ which is awesome!

NFL New York Giants Vinyl Covered Long Neck Bottle Opener

NFL New York Giants Vinyl Covered Long Neck Bottle OpenerThis is my husband's favorite bottle opener. It is very sturdy, great for NY Giants fans. I would highly recommend it!

I've had this bottle opener for over three years. It is used at a high volume three to four times a year. I like the size because it never gets misplaced. The bottle opener is very durable and looks the same as purchased.

I had an issue with shipping, and the company was very friendly and quick to respond. The opener part of bar key itself started to bend/mishapen within the first month of being received, (it was purchased to be used at a high-volume bar,) and the letters were faded shortly thereafter. It made a nice surprise gift for the bartender Giants fan who already had it all though!

Rome's #117 Tri-Pod Grill with 21.5 Inch Diameter Grill Grate, Chrome Plated Stee

Rome's #117 Tri-Pod Grill with 21.5 Inch Diameter Grill Grate, Chrome Plated SteeThis is a very simple, yet "you've got to get it" kind of camping gadget. In a world that gets very hung up on tech -including camping tech -there are some easy to omit fundamentals that make camping what it should be, and Rome's Tripod Grill is one of those. Why so good you ask? Simple -the tripod is well-made: No thin guage metal involved. It's very simple to use: just put the poles together, pop them into the top, put the chain-hung grill on and you're cookin'. It's well designed: there is a raised edge that keeps food (such as hot dogs) from rolling off the edges. It also breaks down small enough to fit into a patrol (a/k/a chuck) box. And for all of this, you get the taste of food cooked over an open campfire -which is a real treat and part of why we get out there! Enjoy!

The tripod was easy to assemble, although I recommend you put it together BEFORE you light the fire. The chain works great for hanging a coffee pot. The grill spins on the chain so you'll want something to hold the grill with when you turn your food, but the spinning can be an advantage since you can move the food over a hotter or cooler part of the fire to control cooking.

I've had a few grills of this type over the years for camping. The last ones were made by Coghlan's. they had a great tripod but the grill grate was cheap and sagged and warped after the first season. The Rome grill has a much better and heavier grill grate but the tripod is junk; small diameter tubing and difficult to assemble without the legs falling apart. I've mounted the Rome grate on the sturdy Coghlan tripod and am using that now.

Couldn't wait to use my new tripod. Built the fire, put the tripod together, put the dutch oven on the grill top and added the meat. Oh boy, dinner soon. Decided to lower the grill closer to the fire. That's when disaster struck. The chain pulled apart, sending the pot full of meat into the flames. Fortunately, it stayed right side up but the rest of the tripod fell apart...there is nothing to hold the top piece into the legs...it went everywhere. Ended up laying the tripod legs across the logs, putting the grill on top and cooking that way. The legs are burnt, the chain is broken. A very expensive one time use! I'm getting my 30 year old Coleman tripod back! I know I can depend on it!

We used it camping to cook with a stock pot, hot dogs, beans, even toast a sandwich at the same time!! This guy worked great! I would just say to make sure you have the height and placement of the tri pod grill set up before setting food on there since the legs come apart easily if you pull up on them. Keep the box also so its easy to keep together. The grill has a raised edge so hot dogs dont roll off. Very very pleased with this buy and highly suggest it, all my friends loved using it as well!

Cuisinart CGS-134 3-Piece Grilling Tool Set with Grill Glove

Cuisinart CGS-134 3-Piece Grilling Tool Set with Grill GloveAfter using this product, I am thoroughly impressed. All three pieces are sturdy, and the rubber-esque grips are comfortable to hold. I especially like the features of the spatula; namely the bladed edge(great for testing the done-ness of a grilling steak) and the bottle opener. After all, a well-made spatula in one hand leaves another hand free for a refreshing beverage. Preferably one with wheat, malted barley, and hops. I would highly recommend this grill set.

First--these tools are so nice I don't want to use them, because I know they will get dirty! I like to be in charge when I grill and these tools are comfortable to use. Did I mention that the spatula has a BOTTLE OPENER. How awesome is that? The glove is heat resistant, while I would resist any urges to arrange your own coals by hand--it definitely is helpful for turning meat for a longer period of time and getting those rebel hot dogs that find their way to hard-to-reach places. I will definitely be putting some serious mileage on these tools---great stuff.

UPDATE 6/25/12: Have been using these since I got them, and they are of good quality. They feel good in the hand, the plastic stops them from getting hot, and they do the job very well indeed. I would not hesitate to recommend these to someone looking for a relatively inexpensive and reasonably good grill kit.

NOTE: I just got these, and have not used them yet. I will update my review as time goes on.

I was very excited to receive this grill kit, as it was very well reviewed and included the pieces I cared about at a reasonable price. My excitement waned suddenly, however, when the plating on the side of the tongs handle fell off while unwrapping. This exposed the fact that the metal of the tongs only extended a little while into the plastic housing and the middle of the handle was plastic only. At the bottom another metal stub extended out into the looping part of the tongs.

This type of construction made me feel like this set was much less quality than I had anticipated. I will see how they function on the grill. I worked to firmly re-attach the plating to the side of the tongs. I will say that they felt sturdy, as did the fork and spatula.

Can't ask for better, but I'm biased they are red the non metallic parts prevent heat touching even the slightest part of your hand, a problem I've had with other wooden accented grill sets. The curve in the tongs make it easy to grab multiple hot dogs or brats and the teeth provide great support for pulling steaks off. The spatula's surface area is ample for any size burger, chicken etc. Go get it, you won't be sorry.

The metal handle inserts were popping out on arrival on two out of three tools. This is badly made, low quality tool set, unpleasant to hold. Returned.

Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Steel Nonstick 13 Inch Grill Pan

Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Steel Nonstick 13 Inch Grill PanI have bought caphalon pots and pans over the years and found them to be high quality. This grill pan is too light--no heft. It stains on the nonstick coating very easily. This is a good size but needs more work to be a quality grill pan.

Definitely NOT worth the price.

For about $25.00 it would be worth it!

I love Calphalon cookware, especially the older pots and pans, which have a heft to them. The food cooks exceptionally well in them and doesn't stick, event though they aren't nonstick cookware. This pan is adequate, but not great. It's very lightweight and the food doesn't cook as well as in the heavier pans. Even with cooking oil, food sticks. And the ridges are difficult to clean.
