Okay ... so last weekend was the first time we used our new stove for some heavy cooking ... deep frying to be precise. We fried several loads of french fries, chicken strips, and cooked hamburger patties on the griddle ... simultaneously. With 17 impatient and hungry teenagers walking into the kitchen every 90 seconds to see if the food was ready, with the woks filled to the rim (my mistake ... I filled em too much), with all available BTUs firing at full force, with sizzling (and splattering) oil all over, by the time party ended at 2:30 a.m., the sight of the stove was worse than filthy. Oil was all over the stove and was cooked brown and black. I did not have the energy to clean. Honestly, I didn't think cleaning would do any good, I thought the damage was permanent. Few days went by while the cooking (and nagging from the wife) continued. Last night I tried to clean with multi-purpose household cleaner. Not even the mildest stain budge. So this morning I went to the Home Depot and bought 3 different and well known oven and grill cleaners. Easy-Off Heavy Duty Oven and Grill Cleaner was one of em. Came home, sprayed little bit of each of the product on three different areas and waited. 15 minutes later I went back to see if any of it worked. I was not expecting much (you should've seen my stove to understand why). I wiped the treated areas with clean paper towel and my jaw dropped. While the other 2 products did their job ... sorta, Easy-Off worked like magic. It removed some 1/16" thick layer of grease from the treated area in one swipe. Despite the fact that I had to treat the stove 3 times to bring it back to never-before-used condition, I am giving this product 5 fully justified stars and will try more of their cleaning products in future.

I am disappointed in this oven cleaner. The odor is overwhelming, and the cleaning ability is underwhelming. I went through three cleaning cycles with this product on an oven that was far from filthy. Even with three consecutive cleanings, the bottom of the oven still had baked-on dirt. I am not sure what is 'heavy duty' about this, but it is most assuredly NOT its cleaning power. I won't be buying this again.

I was looking for a product to clean the top of my gas stove and the two large grate plates that sit on the surface--have had the stove 2-3 years and even though I clean it often, it was getting a build up of hard to remove stuff. I put each grate in a plastic bag, sprayed the grates, then sprayed the surface of the stove and covered with plastic bag as well; left overnight. In the morning just wiped the gunk away--the stove and grates look like new! So glad I tried this product.
