Piral 5-1/2-Quart Stockpot with Lid

I bought this pot, and it is beautiful. I have some other Piral pieces, and they are so easy to clean, and they cook very well. The food doesn't seem to dry out too fast, as with regular non-stick cookware (probably due to using lower temperatures to cook with). My pot was flat on bottom, and the lid fit well. I do wish the knob on top was a bit larger, but all of their lids are this way. Overall, I think this is a good purchase.

I just received my 5.5-Quart Piral Stockpot. I was glad I received it on a Friday because I was planning on using it over the weekend. However, like so many others that have ordered this product in the past, mine came with a 4" crack down the side of the pot. I wasn't surprised when I saw the box with no "Fragile" or "Handle With Care" stickers on it. The outer box had a hole the size of a baseball, which made me expect the worse when I opened the inner box. You would think with all the reviews from people getting this item damaged, that SOMEONE would find a better way to ship this delicate item. What a waste, and not a very "Green" way of doing business. Hopefully my replacement will come intact.

Well my second one did not come cracked, it came shattered. When I called Amazon to see if they could package it better, I was told they had NO control over it. At the suggestion of the customer service rep, I emailed the package/shipping section, but that didn't help either. I was told by the customer service rep that they will send out one more, but after that I would not be able to get another replacement, just a refund. Well, the third one showed up with the typical poor packaging, and yes, that too was cracked. I love Amazon, and will continue to shop with them: However, I am beyond disappointed because I really wanted this pot. I am more disturbed than anything that they would be so careless SO MANY TIMES to send such a fragile (and expensive) pot in the poorest packaging I have EVER seen, not once, not twice, but THREE times. I mean, are you kidding me??? I wonder who in God's name gets stuck with the loss, Amazon or Piral?

I was looking for new pot to add to my collection.I saw this one and fell in love with idea of terracotta and beautiful red color.

I got it today and going to send it back.Yes,it's beautiful,but that's all.The bottom is not flat.It has a little bulge right in the middle-so i can't see how it's going to work for electric stoves.Then the knob on the lid is so small and because of the glassy material you feel like it's going to slide out from your fingers.The lid itself not going to stay in the place,it's kind a sliding around,may be because the pot is not really round,or they wasn't made for each other dimension,i can't say for sure..But it feels like if you will bent a pot a little bit the lid will fall down and broke.

I've decided not to take chances and send it back.

I understand the idea of a handmade piece,but it's just too much imperfections for one pot.

I can't say anything about the performance of the pot,i didn't try to cook in it. Sorry.

Still it's very beautiful...

It's the perfect item for my sunday gravy with meatballs. It cooks evenly, quickly and goes from stovetop to table. It keep food warm....another plus No need for seving dish dish and gravy boat to clean. I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about
