Gourmet Stone

Gourmet StoneI recently bought two of these stones for a party with my friends. I like the simple design of the stone, and would recommend for anyone who wants a change up from a regular setting. I am considering using it again for a date for this upcoming valentines day.

Kuhn Rikon Cool Gripper

Kuhn Rikon Cool Gripper, 7-Inch, RedGrips tightly. Might be a little difficult for older people who struggle to grip. But works wonderfully if you still have strength in your hands.

I bought the Kuhn Rikon scissors and they are Great, but this gripper is just ok. First saw it on a shopping channel you had to buy 2 for even more and also pay shipping. So is a bargain here...and to be able to just buy one. Does not lock once engagedyou have to keep squeezing. So not so great if you have arthritis. Like others have said I would not use them for anything heavy like a full pot on the stove, but ok for taking a cookie sheet out. They have their place.

I've had my Kuhn Rikon Cool Gripper for a few weeks now and I've found it a big help when pulling some of my baking pans out of a hot oven. If the pan had no lip or handle, this little helper really is great. I only wish I had bought two...one for each hand. I recommend them for anyone who has an oven in their wall (like I do). I miss my old stove/oven. Things were easier to pull out than they are now. But this gripper really helps.

This is such a great little device, I've ordered more for gifts. While it may not work in all situations, it is perfect for many and saved me a huge mess today. I have a slide in range with the oven below and have to bend and reach to get hot things out. I have several kinds of potholders and have used towels as well, but still have burned myself more than I care to say. For the price of this gripper I was willing to give it a try in hopes it would be the answer to my problem--and is it ever.

It pulls out the oven shelves and pushes them back in. It has grabbed every pan I've needed it to including a big cookie sheet full of cookies. I wouldn't try it with something like a roasting pan with a turkey in it, but it's worked perfectly on cake pans and the like. It even handled a roasted chicken in a square cake pan. Although I bought two grippers since the description suggested two for heavy things, I haven't needed to use both yet and am happy with just the one. I think I'd rather use my other hand with a glove for extra security with heavy or awkward things.

Today was a true test of this gadget and frankly, I don't know how I could have managed the situation without it. Here's what happened. My microwave is also a convection oven. I use it mostly as a microwave and use a plastic dome cover over food I'm reheating. Well tonight I was cooking some onion soup using the convection function, but I forgot myself and put the plastic cover over the soup crock. Later I smelled something bad, and in a flash realized I shouldn't have put the plastic dome in there when using the convection function. Sure enough the cover was melted into a pool in and all around the soup and crock. Dear. Dear. What a mess--and how was I going to get it all out of the hot oven.

Well, thanks to this great little gripper, I was able to grip the turntable in the oven and transport it with the whole mess to the sink. Everything was super hot, but with the help of the gripper I was able to empty out the rest of the soup and get the crock and the fast cooling plastic bonded to it to the trash. Luckily I had lined the turntable with a silicone sheet and the melted plastic peeled right off of it. I rinsed off the turntable and the silicone sheet and put them back in the microwave and started a fresh bowl of soup in a different crock. I'm out a soup crock and a plastic microwave shield, but thanks to this wonderful gripper I was able to clean up the mess efficiently and quickly and never once got the tiniest burn. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended.

I wasn't sure just how much use I'd have for this until I was trying to remove a blistering hot bowl of soup from my microwave not an easy task when using mitts or a towel. Then I thought of the gripper Wow! the only easy way to get that hot bowl out without spilling it or burning myself.

It's also the best tool everz for removing cookie sheets and sheet pans from the oven.

Now I'm sold and I keep it near the micro in a tool caddy.

George Foreman Grill Cleaning Sponge

George Foreman GFSP3 Sponges, 3-PackThis is a great product. Cleaning the grill used to take at least 5 minutes, now it is about 1 minute. I cook about 5-10 meals a week on my George Foreman Grill and these sponges make cleaning it a breeze. I also use the sponges on pots, pans, dishes and have found them to be excellent for those uses as well. They last as long as a regular sponge and when they start to show their wear, I use them in the bathroom.

These are the perfect sponges for the George Foreman Grill. They have a scrubby side and a spongy side. There are grooves made into them to get every nook and cranny. I keep them stocked up, but one sponge lasts a long time. I always warm up the grill and, of course, wet the sponge before I clean--makes it very easy.

These are the only sponges that can hold up to the heat and clean this grill right. I love them.

This product worked as described. It is very useful & better then a regular sponge or paper towel to get the grease off the grill.

I just bought my first George Foreman grill and after cooking a hamburger, tried to clean it using a plastic scrubber. I couldn't get it clean. So I tried a paper towel and scrubbed and scrubbed. Still didn't work. Then (finally) I remembered the sponge (this sponge) that came with it. I tried it and instantly the grill came clean---easily---no fuss! Both sides are really helpful. And of course, a warm grill with the wet sponge makes the job super quick. I immediately ordered this three-pack.

There are other sponges without the grooves in them that may work too, but these really get into the grooves so well that I doubt that anything could work as well as they do. If you have a Foreman grill, they are an essential accessory.

Even though they are pretty expensive for a little sponge, it does look like it is sturdy and will last a long time if cared for, and more importantly, it's a huge time-saver that makes the whole grilling and cleanup process easy instead of a hassle. So to me this means I'll look forward to using the grill and actually use it instead of storing it in the back of my pantry :)

Highly recommended.

Zojirushi EP-PBC10 Gourmet d'Expert Electric Skillet

Zojirushi EP-PBC10 Gourmet d'Expert Electric SkilletThe main selling point of this skillet for me was the fact that it doesn't use a coil that's built into the base of the cooking surface. Instead, it uses a removable non stick bowl that rests on a circular surface exactly the same size as the base of the bowl. This results in more even heating of the surface and less wear and tear on the non stick surface.

If you've used traditional electric skillets, you've probably noticed that the non stick coating tends to peel/bubble around the area where the heating element/coil is. I'm happy to report no bubbling or flaking during the time I have been using this since May of 2011. There are some light surface scuffs presumably from stirring items and washing the bowl (which is super easy to clean) but nothing compromising the coating itself. You should have no problems with this along as you stick to using silicone or wood cooking tools.

Again, because of the way that this skillet operates, it's very easy and predictable to cook with. It does tend to "hold" the heat for a longer period of time than some other skillet designs. As one other reviewer mentioned, the "keep warm" setting is actually better for simmering than the actual simmer setting on the slider.

Overall, I'm really happy with this skillet, but I'm taking off one star because of the fact that the power cable has a strong chemical/rubber smell that refuses to go away.

Heats up quickly. I use it for pancakes, soups, simmering cube steaks. It cooks them in less time than a regular pot or pan. Cleanup is quick and easy. The only thing to watch for is that the simmer setting is a little hot. I use the warm setting for simmering.

I'm a single student and use this for everything; eggs, meat, soup, potstickers, you name it. Even boiling water! There is actually a sort of spout, so when you pour water out, it doesn't leak everywhere down the sides. It's a very well-built product. Using it is a joy. The clear lid is very useful. The nonstick surface is wonderfully durable and effective. Cleaning it is extremely easy. The only thing I don't like is that the cooking surface is slightly convex, so when I cook fried eggs, for example, they flow to the side and become a long, awkward shape. I also have to use a sprayer to spray olive oil on it so it doesn't doesn't just flow to the side. But other than that, it's a great product. I'm sure the convex cooking surface was designed for grilling stuff in mind, so it might actually be a pro, but I still wish it was just completely flat.

I bought this item for an elderly parent who forgets to turn things off. The ad says the skillet features an auto shut off, but I saw nothing about that in the manual when the skillet arrived. I just called Zojirushi's Customer Service and was told there is no auto shut off feature. They checked the Amazon.com ad had no explanation about why an auto shut-off feature was mentioned.

This is the most versatile cooking appliance I have ever owned. The ceramic nonstick surface allows the use of high heat both for pan frying a steak or high temperature roasting.. It is a great slow cooker and convenient for roasting. When my k-cup coffee maker broke, I used it as a tea kettle to boil water and pour out the pour spout into my coffee cup. In the morning you can cook your bacon, eggs, pancakes and even bake biscuits. I am familiar with Zoji quality from my Rice Cooker, Bread Maker and travel mug. These appliances are designed and made in Japan and it shows.

This jewel truly makes one-pot meals a reality. I made chili the other night browned the meat, cooked the vegetables, drained the grease, added the tomatoes and bean, brought it to a boil and reduced to simmer and cook for two hours. Cleanup was a breeze thanks to the nonstick surface. A great product, especially for someone in a dorm room or a small apartment, Highly recommended.

Diamond Plus 11" Square Grill Pan

Diamond Plus 11' Square Grill PanBought the Woll Diamond Plus set and added the grill pan to my order. I had preferred the assortment offered by Swiss Diamond but was scared off by too many negative reviews which included poor customer service. Woll was absolutely worth the extra cost as it looks like they will last forever. Getting great results with all types of food types that I have tried. The pans tolerate high heat well, show absolutely no sign of abrasion with metal utensils and the clean up is fast and easy. "Greenpan" ads demonstrate cleanup as just as easy on the cooking surface, but Woll has the same non-stick coating on the outside as on the inside and the pans are heavy enough that it doesn't feel you're cooking with a child's toy set. The bottoms have a flat, grooved and polished disk which is kinder to the pan and kinder to the burner rack than the diamond embedded cooking surface would be.

Very glad I got rid off every other pot and pan I collected over the years other than two high capacity stockpots.

I think the extra cost was equalled by the value of the product. Would have been wonderful had thee been available years ago. Would have saved me from investing in at least three inferior cooksets.

Masterbuilt 20100111 Remote Meat Probe Thermometer

Masterbuilt 20100111 Remote Meat Probe ThermometerREAD THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!! Do not emerg the PROBE in water. Wash only the probe with soap and water and dry quickly.

I bought this to use with my Masterbuilt smoker & I'm very happy with this thermometer. this works great and is right on. I tested it with 5 other thermometers at the same time in the oven and all 6 read the same temp at the same time. the wireless range worked great at 50 feet the alarm is not very loud. I think this was worth the money & I would buy this again.

UPDATE well after using this about 10 times, a total of 125 hours of smoking time, this thermometer stopped working. I even tried a new prob and nothing. I agree with the other reviewers this is a total waste of money. I will not be buying another masterbuilt model # (20100111)

I previously owned another remote thermometer from Maverick but in the course of two years I went through 6 probes, some lasting only for a few uses. I was fed up with having to constantly replace the probes so I thought I would purchase a new unit from another manufacturer. This was my choice, and I feel it was a bad one.

I used the unit one time with success. The very next time I went to use it the readout went to "HH" immediately and would not function. Changing batteries, wiggling the probe, an restarting it several times had no effect. I am very disappointed. It seems it was a total waste of money. I might also add that, because of my previous experience with this type of probe I was very careful not to kink or submerse the cable.

I'll be contacting the service department for this company later today to see if they want to make good. I'll update based on their answer, but for now I would caution anyone considering this unit to be aware that it may have a short life of service to you.

I used the unit several times in my indoor oven. Potatoes, Steak, etc. worked okay. The first time I used it on my grill, taking care where the wire was placed, it went to HH and was useless after that.

Music City Metals 00102 Chrome Steel Wire Warming Rack Replacement for Select Arkla and Sunbeam Gas

Music City Metals 00102 Chrome Steel Wire Warming Rack Replacement for Select Arkla and Sunbeam Gas Grill ModelsThe same chrome plated warming rack as in my old original 2 burner Sunbeam Gas Grill. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because it had a slight bend in the middle probably due to shipping. I straightened it out as best I could and it works fine, but doesn't look quite perfect.
