I rated it 3 because my expectations were that the bristles wouldn't melt at high heat (though my expectations may be unrealistic). I use the brush to coat a fry or stir fry pan when cooking veggies. I can coat the pans when the heat gets too hot or else the bristles melt. I do like the brush though and it works better than any other bristles I've tried.
