X3 1000-WATT Modular Psu

I will start by saying I generally trust the Ultra line of products, and I really do think this is a fluke.

When my PSU arrived, I did as anyone would do and hooked that puppy up, checked and triple checked my connections, and held my breath as I pushed the power button.

The first thing I noticed was an electric burn smell and the fact the PSU seemed to "rev" slowly. I thought this was just a new item burn in smell so I watched the boot. Everything seemed fine (YAY!)...well, no... not YAY! I ran a program or two and then powered down to do a reboot. Posting seemed fine until the very end and it seemed to snag. I looked at my computer and both my DVD drives had their red activity lights on without the regular stutter. They were the only things connected to the molex connectors. I unplugged the molex and everything worked fine, other than the fact my two DVD drives are now possibly fried. :( Unfortunately Amazon doesn't have any more of these in stock so I have to pay $40 more at Tigerdirect. I want a modular. :( I will update this after I get my 2nd unit. If it works like I want, and my DVDs aren't actually fried, then I will upgrade the score.

They do not appreciate their customers, RMA policy is ridiculous!

hooked it up fried two hard drives called ultra yea they replaced the power supply but i was just screwed far as my hard drives being fried and thats what they told me too what if it fried somthing else well according to them they are not resposible for any hardware you might fry told me i should have tested it first well it does have a sticker saying it has ben tested so be carefull ive ben bulding systems since 1993 and this is the first time if ran acrross this sort of thing just glad it wasnt a customers system!!!!! call them and ask em

Excelente solucion para conectar y ordenar todos los cables que tengo, la opcion modular de la fuente hace que el precio no sea importante, he podido conectar sumamente facil todos los cables y soluciono mi problema de energia para mi tarjeta de video, todas las fuentes que encontre solo tenian un conector para la tarjeta de video, esta fuente me permite colocar dos conectores a mi tarjeta y funciona de maravilla.
