This Steel Grate is a perfect fit for my wood burner which only has a 15" door to add logs to the fire. Before I started using this Steel Grate my fire would just smolder & smoke every time I attempted to start it up putting off so much smoke that it filled up the house. I also had the same problem with the smoke when I was successful at starting the fire with keeping it going throughout the day. The Steel Grate has solved my smoldering smoke problem filling up the house. It's easier to start the fire and it lasts a lot longer using the Steel Grate! I would recommend this product to anyone who has a smaller wood burner or smaller fireplace.
This was a little smaller than expected, but is well made and still fits nice in our free standing fire place. We did not realize that the legs extend out and the measurement is taken at the extended legs.

This grate was just the right size for our small stove/fireplace. It seems to be very sturdy and has a small piece of what is probably hardware wire underneath, so that the little pieces of wood/embers don't fall through too easily. However, it isn't smaller on one side than the other--it's square-shaped, not triangular. That doesn't really matter much. I'd absolutely recommend it! A great deal for the price!
