Mini Hibachi for use with Sterno #Hib-01

Mini Hibachi for use with Sterno #Hib-01I recently purchased a Mini Hibachi Grill from House of Rice through Amazon.com and was very happy with it. It was for a gift, so I was glad to see that it came very secure, and with all of its parts. (Nothing was broken, everything was there.) I have been looking for this particular item for a very long time...my best friend saw it at a local restraunt where they put sterno gel in it and cooked marshmallows over it, making s'mores. Super cute...needless to say, she was thrilled with her birthday present ;-). I wish it would have come sooner (I had to give it to her late). Other than that, very pleased with my purchase!!! Thanks!

This hibachi is very small. It's ok for making Smores, but be warned that you can only toast one marshmallow at a time.

After reading the reviews, I had to submit a review myself. This item is very small and is not intended to grill large pieces of meat, not even a hamburger. It's great for marshmallows and smores. Family and guests will have a great time using this item, even indoors. It's also great for grilling small thin pieces of meats (Japanese style). You aren't supposed to use charcoal as others have implied in a previous review. You're supposed to use sterno. If you can't find small cans of sterno, you can scoop a teaspoonful amount from a large sterno can and just dump it into the bottom of the grill. This item deserves a five star, if you use it as intended.

Works great! Not sure why someone rated it badly unless they had a can of old sterno. I had no problem getting it to work right away. Pu Pu platters are very common in the north but unheard of in the south. I decided to order my own.

I purchased some of these as gifts for making s'mores and also one for myself. It was a little tricky finding the right fuel because the shape did not allow any of the small gel fuel cans that I could find to fit inside. I ended up going to Joe's and getting Stansport Fuel Tablets. I just put one tablet inside the mini hibachi and lit it with a match. It took about a minute to warm up and then it was no problem lighting my marshmallow on fire. The tablet burned for about 10 minutes which seemed like a safe time frame. Now I can make s'mores without a campfire!
