this is a solid floor fan. I use it to fan me while on the bike trainer. it swivels to allow adjustment of the air flow, and puts out a solid flow of air. Ive only used it on the lowest setting so far for fear that id be blown away on higher settings. It makes a little more noise than a cheapie, but I suppose that's what you get with a more powerful motor. It has a thick 3-prong cord, and the front grating removes easily for cleaning. It is the fan Ive been looking for.

I sleep with a fan and use fans everywhere. If you sleep with a fan then you know how serious we go through them . This is top of the line period. It will blow like an airplane on setting 3. I use setting 1 in my room. Does NOT rattle and sound metal. I've used it non stop for 8 months and still perfect.

If you are having a hard time selecting a moderately price, but well constructed fan for either your home or office, this is the FAN ..actually the ONLY fan you should purchase. Two years ago, I purchased a typical inexpensive 20" round floor fan with "turbo" capacity. The unit was made with ALL PLASTIC materials including its blades. Last week, I accidentally tripped over the chord while walking passed it & it tipped over & one of the plastic blades broke right in half. I couldn't believe it..that quickly...it broke. So, I had the dilemna of finding a replacement one ASAP since New York city was entering into a 3-4 day heat wave. So, I researched a few well-known retailers' websites to find there were so many models to choose from with various pricing from as low as $19.99 to $09.00, I just couldn't make up my mind.

I knew I couldn't nor did I want to pay more than $50 for a good fan. And, if I did invest a little more in ONE...i wanted it to be made of chrome with steel blades....NOT plastic. Well, I couldn't find any chrome/steel blades for less than $79.99. Still too high for my budget, I called my local hardware store in my upper westside neighborhood & the mgr. was kind enough to listen to my specifications & without hesistation suggested I buy this fan. He guaranteed I would like the fan...that it is very reliable...with high velocity.....steel blades....made of ALL chrome with 3 speeds & wouldn't take up much floor room. It was an industrial made fan. So...based on these specs & features, I made the purchase. Fortunately, it was priced within my budget.

Well, the store mgr. knowing I was homebound & unable to walk a block to the store delivered the unit himself..did assembly it for me...a few screws here/there...which took all of 5 minutes. He then plugged into the outlet for me..turned on the fan showing me the 3 settings. That was on Friday afternoon (June 29th)...& I have been running this fan every since...24/7. Since my current air conditioner is not working & I need a replacement ASAP...this fan was my only way to cool down the room making it more bearable. Well, after using this fan for the past 4 days....I am amazed on how well it "cools" off my very large studio apartment no matter where I sit. This fan has an incredible strong motor making it quite efficient to run. It'just perfect. It comes with with a simple owner's manual (more like a pamphlet) instructing you on cleaning & maintence.

The only drawback is there is no warranty on this unit from the manufactuer, however, I spoke to Windstream's customer service representative who advised me to keep the receipt from the store & if I have any problems with it over the next several months, please call them back & they will help me....."not to worry"...they stand by their product. Well..you can't ask more from a good manufacturer than that kind of promise. So, you know the unit is 140 Watts which is quite powerful & efficient. The manufacturer ONLY produces FANS so they are exclusive to the design & production of fan units ONLY catering to both large corporations, plants, & now homes.

If you try this product, i know you will NOT be diaappointed at all. Believe me..I am hooked. The quality & constrution of this product is indicative of manufactueres's high standards of 20 years ago. Forget the plastic ones...even the most popular brands. They are a waste of monies. WINDSTREAM is the one to buy when you want a chrome/steel blade fan designed to last for many years. This is a terrific product...& this particular model works quite well in my very large studio apartment or any large room & won't take up space. I am so very happy with it! We are entering a 2nd heat wave in the city this week...but I am keeping 'COOl' with my Windstream fan.
