Both heat tubes on this toaster expired today. I've had it less than a year. It heated things reasonably well but toasting was always erratic, sometimes barely done, other times burnt on the bottom. Placement of the rack was problematic. The choice was between too close to the top burner or too close to the bottom burner. Removing the rack to replace it with the broiler pan was difficult. All in all, when I paid only $25 for this I knew I was not getting the Rolls Royce of toasters. I decided I could live with the poor toasting performance. But I would have thought it would last more than 8 or 9 months. Very disappointed in what used to be a good brand.Read Best Reviews of Proctor Silex Extra-Large Toaster Oven Broiler Here
As a previous reviewer said, the oven is really not as "Extra-Large" as advertised, but it is a decent toaster oven. The same reviewer noted that you could not insert the two pans/racks simultaneously, which is also true, and also kind of an inconvenience.
I've used it for a couple of weeks, had no performance problems so far.
The ticking of the timer is a bit loud, but sometimes that can actually be helpful when you are busy elsewhere and forget about having put something in the oven.

Watch out. This is not the extra large toaster oven that is shown in the picture. The model number listed is correct. What you got with this model number is just a standard sized toaster oven. The picture shows that the pan can be sit on top of the rack, but it is not possible with this model. There is only one slot, where you can either slide in the rack, or the pan, or both the rack and the pan with the rack right above the pan. The dimension is also relatively smaller than I expected. It does a horrible job toasting four pieces of Orowheat bread. It can only handle two pieces of bread well, I guess. Such a toaster is only for personal use, by which I mean, if you are single, it should be fine, but if you live with one more person, it is too small.
