everything I remembered it to be, and still fun to create different meals/snacks....
I have to admit, I use it even they are not around.

When I was a boy in the 1950's, my parents bought a toast tite which my sister and I loved. My mother gave it to me when I moved out on my own. When I had a son and daughter, they enjoyed making "flying saucer" sandwiches as they grew up and, after they graduated college and left the area to work, a must on their visits home was to make "flying saucer" sandwiches. I was perplexed as to how my one toast tite should be handed down to them. Then I saw an article in my local paper and my problem was solved. I bought one for each on amazon.com and they were thrilled. Now they don't have to wait until I pass away and fight over my one toast tite.PatI wanted to let everyone know that I use the old toastite units a lot. I have purchased over a dozen of the new version and they are GREAT!! I am using the new and old and you can not tell the difference in the way that they work. In reference to the person that reviewed with a 1...a lot of the old ones are aluminum. They seem like solid steel but they are not. They had some that were made of thin steel but the aluminum ones are better. I would buy this new product many times. Thank you Toas-Tite LLC for starting them back into production!!!!This is a nifty, low-tech way of making an awesome grilled cheese sandwich! Very little cleanup is required. Bravo, Toas-Tite!
