Poor quality control. Who ever welded these pieces together needs to get a square to make sure that the finished product is straight and perpendicular. My grates tubes were not welded at the same point/length in the corners, so the finished product was not a rectangle but slightly askew. This is very noticeable when the 3 pieces are put down in the grill next to each other. Although functional, it would not have taken much effort to build these correctly. Where's the quality control? They are GREAT grates! I bought a used bbq and the grate's were TOTALLY rusted and there was no way I was going to cook on rust! I like that they are stainless steal, makes cleaning easy and they heat up nicely.
I went onto Searsparts.com to order replacement parts for my bbq that I purchased off Craigslist, however they took weeks to 'process' my order and after 4 weeks I had enough with waiting! I cancelled that order, paid a little more on Amazon, but got them in 3 day's!!
I WILL NEVER USE SEARSPARTS.COM AGAIN, AMAZON ONLY!!The only reason I gave the grates a 4 is because I am not used to the steel. Previous grates were cast iron and took longer to heat up thus I have overcooked some meals. I do enjoy the cleanup with the steel and not having to deal with the rust. Very satisfied.
