The off/hi/lo switch wasn't installed right and kept falling into the housing when you tried to use it
The lo setting didn't even work
Upon looking into it, the wiring for the lo setting wasn't even hooked up!
Conclusion: Looks like someone assembled this in their garage. The wiring wasn't soldered and just held together with electrical tape. This fan is great if you just wanna throw away $10! I suppose you get what you pay for.

This is an inexpensive fan that clips on instead of standing on a flat surface. It works and it looks ok and fits on my shower curtain rod where we attach it and run it after showers to keep the mold and mildew down. The only problem I have encounter is the switch became detached an fell inside the fan housing. We were able to retrieve it and re-attach it and it seems to be fine now. Minor flaw for someone that doesn't mind making repaires to equipement but might be major to someone that doesn't have this skill. It's a good fan for the price, but Amazon can't compete with local supermarkets and other stores. Turns out that this EXACT same fan is available under other brand names. I found a second one at my local supermarket for $10 marked as "Cool-Breeze" brand. As another reviewer mentioned, the switch fell in on mine as well, but after removing a single Philips screw to get inside, it was easy to clip the switch back into place and it works fine. I would guess that it was never seated properly, because once I re-seated it, it's very sturdy and isn't going to fall in any time soon.
The fan is powered by a standard wall outlet and has a Hi/Lo/Off switch on the back. Comes with a table stand and a clip (can be swapped out with a thumbscrew). It has 360 degree rotation in one direction and can tilt up and down nearly 90, so you can cover just about every direction.
Check your local stores to see if they have the same one for a competitive price.
UPDATE: It's a piece of crap. I have two of these fans and they bother broke the same way. The plastic spring-clip snapped right through. I've rigged both of them up with coathangers and tape so that they clip again, but if I ever buy another clip fan, I will make sure it has a metal clip.

The fan was cheap so you really can't expect awhole lot. It works pretty well but has to be right near you in order for you to feel it. The front part of the part that is suppose to clip to things broke in half about a week and half after I started using it. So it is definitly made cheap but if your looking for something inexpensive and handy, I would recommend this just make sure you are gentle with it and make sure you don't clip it too something that is too wide or it will break like mine did.
