This product is good, however if you really want to crank up the heat often to cook pizzas and really sear some steak get this product Nomex Hi Temp Gasket Kit for Big Green Egg Large Including Spray Adhesive. I have replaced the original gasket and this one about three times. Finally I stumbled across this one and it holds up alot better. I love my egg, but I hated having to buy a gasket every other month until I got the other one.

The felt gasket is easy to install. The only drawback is that this gasket does not have the longevity I was looking for. If any food or liquid spill on the gasket and is not wiped up, it will get sticky and pull off. It will also cook the gasket to the point that it will fall apart at high temperatures. I have been averaging about 6 months with this gasket.

The gasket looked great...I took my time to totally removed the old gasket and old "stickum" by scraping and using denatured alcohol to remove the balance of the old glue. The best and easiest way to remove/replace the gasket is to remove the top.

I let the unit totally dry before I installed the new gasket. It went on very easy and looked great...HOWEVER...after just 3 uses the bottom front gasket (about 18 inches) pulled loose at normal cooking temperature.

it is straight, not curved, and will never work on a kamado style smoker or green egg. real ripoff, very misleading, a.k.a. lie.
