The concept of "Beer-Can Roasted Chicken" has been around for quite a while. A can of beer is inserted into the chicken's cavity, keeping it moist while the bird roasts in a closed grill. However, it is somewhat difficult to have the chicken in the proper vertical position without it falling over (especially if the chicken isn't the only one full of beer.)

This well-made, German gadget has a base that keeps the bird steady. The open cylinder can be filled with the liquid of your choice (beer, wine, orange juice, chicken stock, etc.) and the removable handle can be inserted after the chicken is cooked so it will still be cool and won't take up any unnecessary space in the grill (in case that you want to cook several birds at a time.) This is a well made, straight forward, quality product that should last for decades. I plan on getting one or two more.

I thought that a short video of it in action might be helpful. I grilled a chicken but this product would work for ducks or ever larger Cornish Game Hens. I hope that you enjoy the video!
