I'd like to think I know my way around the kitchen. I followed the included instructions. The second burger attempt on my first outing using this brand new burger press ended in disaster.
The plastic snapped in multiple places on the product. The meat I was using at the time was never frozen and I had left it out for a bit prior to my maiden run just to be on the safe side that there wouldn't be any issues with a difficult pressing.
All and all . . . very very disappointed with this product. Perhaps if it was constructed of different / better material, it would be a winner. Unfortunately, I got one burger pressed for my 20+ bucks. Expensive lesson. Please learn from my experience and seek a different burger press....First off, yes this works as advertised, however...It feels cheap, the design has some flaws-such as when you go to push the center ring (to make the pocket) the outer ring wants to press down as well. The lock on the outer ring could have been a lot better! While this product is fun, its not practical. When we decide to have burgers for dinner I want something quick and easy...this takes too much work to make a set of burgers. I also didn't really care for the burger. It was stuffed with cheese and bacon, and with the first bite, a hole popped in the rear of the burger and most of the filling oozed out the back. (pretty messy) I would only recommend this if the price was under $10.I was hyped-up about this product based on seeing it in action on GrillGrate's website, but it was a major disappointment to actually use. I have to echo other criticisms that I've heard such as it's too flimsy and too much work. Also, something that none of the instructions warn you about--you have to use a ton of ground meat (fill the bottom cup up to near the top) for the press to work properly. I planned on making a 1/3 total lb burger (split into 2 portions), but that was not enough to make the pocket work. It didn't even work with a 1/2lb! It is much easier just to make stuffed burgers by hand without this device! This product looks convenient but it takes more work to form burgers with it then just doing it by hand, don't waste your moneyAmazing product. There are lots of others out there that don't work. stufz does what it say and there are no parts to mis place or loose. We have used ours over 50 times and love love love it
