Weirdly enough, even though this is marked Stainless (made in China), it has rust-like tiny spots on the metal body of the spatula that I can't remove with Brillo and steel wool gets almost every stain out, so I really don't know what kind of metal this is!!!The handle folds in so that it can be stored easily. It's gigantic, kind of a conversation piece in a way, really kind of funny...it reminds me of that scene in Uncle Buck with John Candy, when he's flipping a huge pancake with a snow shovel :-)
I use it to take hot pizza off the stone to transfer it to the pan. It might actually be handy on the grill, but being that I haven't used it that way, I can't really say for sure.
