Calphalon Professional Nonstick 12-Inch Round Grill Pan

I was using my George Foreman grill for almost everything, but decided that once in a while I didn't want to clean the grill pans and I would rather cook on the stove, so I ordered this Calphalon grill pan.

I have other Calphalon products and they hold up very well. The non stick finish makes it super easy to clean. I do not use any non stick spray oils in any of my pans just olive oil, butter or canola since it is my understanding that the non stick sprays can ruin the finish. I also hand wash my pans.

So far, I am very pleased with this pan for the price and the durability.

I've had this grill pan for about 5 months now, and I use it regularly (a few times a week). It's awesome!

It's such a time saver, since I can grill right on the stove without having to start up the outdoor grill. This is especially true if I only need to grill up a few pieces of meat or make a quick grilled cheese sandwich or if there's a thunderstorm outside and I really want to make a burger...I heat up the pan, do what I need, and that's it. Coming from a guy who loves to BBQ and grill, the only thing you'll miss is (obviously) the smoky flavor (nothing a little liquid smoke can't fix), but you'll get everything else-the sear, the char, and the grill marks.

The easy cleaning is probably what won me over. 8 out of 10 times, I just let the pan cool naturally on the stove, and then come back later in the night to wipe clean with a paper towel and then rinse under warm water by hand/soft sponge with a little bit of dish soap. A handful of times when there's a lot of char and gunk on it when I'm done, I've let it cool down and fill it up with water to let it sit in water. That way, it softens up all the burnt pieces and makes for easier paper towel wiping & hand rinsing later on.

I can't imagine not having this pan. It is perfect for hamburgers and bacon because it keeps whatever you are cooking/grilling out of the fat. This pan is light enough that it heats up very quickly while still feeling sturdy.

We purchased this pan for its size and for the ridges in the bottom. Our explicit use is for cooking bacon and while we are sure it works for plenty of other things it works perfectly for our bacon mornings! It also works really well for omelets too but for us it was a no brainer to buy because the standard pans are just too small to cook any decent size portion of bacon. FYI, the ridges also help keep the whatever you are making from burning. Either way if you're looking for a good pan to cook up some bacon look no further. As an aside, the pan is very light and almost seems flimsy but our opinion is that it's just a light pan that does its job well.

George Foreman Super Sized Grill

First, let me say I always thought the George Foreman Grill craze was a joke, until I borrowed one from my parents. My Mom's cooking skills often led to a dinner-time fight over Lucky Joe, our German Shepard. No, we weren't grilling him... we wanted his undivided attention under the table so we could offload our plates, since he thought Mom's cooking was super. The George Foreman grill helped Mom make a delicious burger the other day and I was intrigued. She let me keep hers for a few days to see if I would actually use it.

Boy, did I. I made nice, juicy burgers topped with thick slices of tomato, green pepper and onion, served on a nicely warmed, not toasted, bun. Just throw it all together and pop it on the grill and 5-6 minutes later its dinnertime! No need to melt cheese while the burgers are on the grill, the come out hot enough that you can just top them off on the plate.

Boneless, skinless chicken breast turned out perfect, not rubbery like some reviewers said. A breast that normally takes 20 minutes to bake took half the time with the Foreman Grill.

My wife is a veggie and she is pleased with how her Boca burgers turned out as well.

The bun warmer is essential. Don't buy the models without one, you'll regret it. The basic model my Mom has is too small for more than one big burger at a time. The Supersized model I purchased is perfect. Three items fit nicely, yet it's not as huge as the family sized one. No sense heating surface area you're not using.

Cleanup is a two-damp paper towel affair if you do it as soon as you unplug the grill. Don't worry, the food is hot and in those few seconds it won't get cold. Also, other reviews have indicated that you shouldn't immediately close the hot grill after use, so as to avoid the teflon deteriorating. Makes sense to me. Mom's is several years old and looks like new, after moderate use.

One warning, the photos aren't totally accurate. I didn't realize the base of the supersized grills are silver, not white. I would have ordered a different color bun warmer if I had known.

I avoid most food "machines" because they get used at first and then take up shelf space. The Foreman Grill is an exception, along with a bread machine I use often to make dough, my food processor that always in use and the coffeemaker. Don't be afraid to try one.

I too wondered about this thing, but since I live in the city, with no yard, I could never grill anything so I figured it would be worth giving it a shot. No, it won't give you charcoal flavor, but it will cook food like a dream, in less time than a traditional grill, & it will clean up & store easily, AND it can be used indoors. I got mine for my b-day, last month, & so far I've cooked portabella mushrooms, fish, veggie burgers, veggie dogs, grilled cheese n tomato (on a pita, which turned out perfectly... something nearly impossible to do on a pita when using any other method)... even corn on the cob (though I still prefer making the corn in the oven, silk out & leaves on (for flavor) cause it's less awkward). Everything has been to perfection! Plus it takes up very little space (& mine is the medium size... even living alone, I wouldn't go with the smaller grill. This is perfect for making my entire meal all at once). I could live without the bun warmer, but it is kinda cute & it actually does work. If you're still on the fence, come on over, you won't regret it! It's a kitchen gadget/appliance that you'll actually use AND love. (caution, the exposed edges get VERY hot & you WILL get burned. DO keep it away from its own plug, papers... as I can conceive if it becoming a fire hazard, and that's why I gave it 4 stars)

I love this grill so much, it makes my last relationship look like, well...charcoal briquets. The meat cooks in record time,

no flipping of the burgers (a word of warning to cheeseburger lovers...nuke the burger a few seconds to melt the cheese AFTER you cook it on the grill, or you will have something that looks like a victim from the movie 'Backdraft'...oh, dear...I suppose some of you aren't hungry now). Only two other suggestions: 1)When placing meat on the grill, hold it there for a split second, or it will go sliiiiiiiiiiiiding down the non-stick surface. Also, the bun warmer cover comes off VERY easily, but I suspect it was designed this way for bigger hamburg buns

and such. Still five stars, though. Cleanup is a breeze (Oh God of All Barbecue Meat.....I sound like one of those TV ads)

I really enjoyed my grill; thought not large enough for more than two medium sized hamburgers; so its only suitable for one person. I use to broil a lot of my meals in my convection oven which took ten minutes to heat up and another ten or so to cook my meal; with the George Foreman about three min. to heat up and only a fraction of the time to cook so it will reduce my electric bill big time.

My only complaints are; wish it was just a few inches bigger and had a temperture control

Ironically, I purchased this PVC free cover to keep our PVC outdoor set clean. Our patio set is not square, closer to round, but with the four rolling chairs it makes a basic square so figured this might work. Because our table is not square, the cover is not as pretty as in the add (it droops some in the corners), however it works great. We have had it about a month and it does just what it is supposed to do protect my furniture from the hot Louisiana Sun. The color is perfect too, as it is neutral, and even if it fades will not show much.

It was difficult to find a quality square cover. This cover is well made and has provided over a year of great protection to my outdoor patio set. Lodge Logic LGPR3 Pre-Seasoned Round Cast-Iron Grill Press

This is something that had been on my wish list for a while. I had not used one before but I liked the concept. Finally got one for my birthday a couple of years ago, and this has grown into one of my favorite tools. For bacon, nothing is better. I cook up 5 pounds at a time and freeze in 4-slice packs, and this little beauty makes the cooking process easy. Nice flat pieces that are great for that after-work BLT. Works great for panini and is definitely cheaper and easier to use than a specialized machine that does the same job for 5 times the price.

This is a real low-tech old school way of cooking that proves over and over again why its still so popular.

I have one of these and may end up with another. After checking a previous review, someone obviously doesn't understand function as opposed to just looking good. The only thing he rated highly was a cookbook...

I only wish this came in a size that would properly fit a 12" frying pan for when I'm cooking breakfast for a crowd.

When you grow up with flat bacon, nothing else is good enough. So I made the plunge and bought this press for the sole purpose of cooking flat bacon in my cast-iron cookware. That makes this an expensive uni-tasker for me (which, along with the screws, is why I only gave it 4 stars), but I still think it was a good purchase.

The construction of the press seems high-quality. It is indeed heavy, but I have no concerns about the handle coming off or anything like that. You do need to assemble it, requiring a flathead screwdriver and an adjustable wrench or pliers, but it isn't difficult. The screwheads sit in an indentation on the bottom of the press and are exposed to the food/cooking surface. The hygiene implications of that might be a problem for some, but those people would probably not like cast-iron anyway. However, the screw indentations are deep enough so that the screws aren't capable of scratching the cooking surface. Cleanup means wiping with some warm water and using a stiff bristle brush if necessary. Dry off and coat with a thin layer of oil.

Use is quite simple. I can't imagine using the press on steaks or burgers since that would press all the juice (not necessarily fat) out of them and make them dry, but it's perfect for bacon. With extened use the wire handle will get warm, but never necessitated the use of mitts or gloves. One thing I noticed while using the press is that you will want to use a pan at least somewhat larger than the press. When I used the press with my cast-iron pan with a 7" bottom, the fat from the bacon had nowhere to go and would end up rising up and over the sides of the press, pooling on top of it.

Overall, it's a well constructed press with the only real downside being the exposed screws on the bottom. The handle stays cool and my bacon stays flat. A bit of a luxury, but worth it for me. Also, if you are going to use this for bacon, do yourself a favor and save the bacon grease to cook with or to season other cast iron vessels with later.

The press functions well enough, but as other reviews have mentioned the handle is shotty. It's held on with bolts which get gunked-up with grease and crud. I have to disassemble the handle (with tools) to clean the press thoroughly. The coiled handle doesn't stay cool enough to touch anyway, so why not use a one-piece design like the Lodge panini press? One good bonus this press offers is I can use it as a lid for the Lodge 6.5" skillet, which doesn't have an available lid.

With all the articles about how wire grill brushes are dangerous, this seemed like a good replacement option. For me it works ok, not as well as the wire brushes, but better than getting bits of wire in your burger in my opinion. I think it was ok for the price and for the peace of mind.

I wanted to let everyone know that I use the old toastite units a lot. I have purchased over a dozen of the new version and they are GREAT!! I am using the new and old and you can not tell the difference in the way that they work. In reference to the person that reviewed with a 1...a lot of the old ones are aluminum. They seem like solid steel but they are not. They had some that were made of thin steel but the aluminum ones are better. I would buy this new product many times. Insert this in the Big Easy and grill the burgers vertically. Fat runs off and meat is lean and tasty. You can even use 80/20 burgers in this and have a much lower-fat result.

Reasonably easy to clean up after a soaking.

Tool Wizard Grill & BBQ Brush Wizard Grill Scrubber.

I found out that the GrillWizzard sold on Amazon is not the one tested by America's Test Kitchen.

This one gets hot and the scrub brushes fell apart after a few uses. I know that they are replaceable... but I expected them to last longer.

My experience with this brush is different than some users, apparently. The scrub pad on my Grill Wizard unravelled quickly and didn't do that great a job on its first or subsequent uses, either. And when it started unravelling, which was on the second or third use, it started leaving bits of the scrub pad on the grill. I would not buy this again or recommend it, and I'm sorry that I bought some extra scrub pads with the initial purchase to save on the shipping. The combination of Weber's "regular" brass brush and Weber's 21" T-brush works much better.

DON'T BUY THIS RIP OFF GRILL BRUSH! The makers of this cheap knock-off are trying to confuse the market by making a grill cleaning brush that looks like the real Grill Wizard (Google "Grill Wizard" to find the real company website). At first this brush used the SAME name (a trademark violation) as the original Grill Wizard. They changed the name but the brush itself is still violating the original patent!

I use T-Brush and this grill pad cleaner to get a really sparkling grill before and after grilling. I have found that this scouring pad really makes the flat surface of a grill grate sparkle like nothing else. I found the first time I used it that the stainless steel shine came out on grill grates which were black from repeatedly using a flat brass bristle brush. The combination of the two grill cleaners really works on getting both the flat surface of the grill and in between the grates really clean.

In retrospect, I guess, what you are really buying is just a handle to hold a scrubbing pad. Not exactly rocket science. But the handle is long and sturdy, and it allows you to clean your grill while it is still hot, which is the best time to remove stubborn grit.

If you want to use this device by itself, for the grates on a gas grill, it wont do the job. It only hits the flat surface well. Buy this to supplement the brass bristle grill brush you already have so that you can get the grill sparkling. Then you'll be pleased with the results. It shouldn't be that hard to have a shiny grill, and this kind of brush makes it possible.

This brush is not the model reviewed by cook's illustrated. This model has a different mechanism for holding the scrub pad. This model has a plastic device that screws into the head through the pad and holds it with four arms. these arms limit the amount of the pad that actually comes into contact with(and cleans)the grill. This is inferior to the recommended model which holds the pad with two metal prongs through the side of the pad and therefore the entire surface of the pad is involved in cleaning the grill. The Cook's model also has a metal head while this model's is made of the same plastic as the handle. The company name is correct on the package, they must have gotten a new manufacturer.

Kingsford Memphis Grill Brush

I purchased all Kingsford tools for my grill, as I'm very fond of the steel and red rubber aesthetic. All of them are fantastic, except for this brush. At $20, it's already too pricey, and that's before you get to the flimsy quality on the head.

My grill has cast-iron grates, so they need a little force to be cleaned. Maybe this brush just isn't designed to hold up under that pressure, but I don't think that's a valid excuse. It's not complicated -it's just a brush.

Anyways, the head of the brush will bend back and forth if you put even moderate pressure on it. It looks nice, but it's not built very well at all. The bristles have even been bent up quite a bit, and this is after only maybe a dozen uses.

This brush is probably adequate for a small, cheap grill, but not for much else.

Item received as very average quality. I should listen to the previous buyer, just buy the cheaper $6 one instead of this one. Also, think about it, even the cheaper product did not last long, you can still buy 3 more to equal one expensive one. By the time you replace once, your grill probably need replacement anyway.

I was surprised by the quality of the metal. It will certainly last longer than the originals that came with the grill.

I bought 4 of these Music City heat plates and all were received individually well packaged. The plates are porcelain coated and feel very solid and sturdy; they seem built much stronger than the original metal cover plates that came with the grill, which began to break down after 4 seasons. Though used often throughout the year, my grill is well maintained and cleaned so for me it was well worth spending the money to replace the heat plates with these porcelain plates which I'm certain will last longer than 4 seasons. It is a bargain too for a better product compared to what you'd pay on the manufacturer's site for original replacements. They fit fine as well, no problems.

I came thisclose to biting the bullet and purchasing this item for my rusty old grill.... however I persevered & was able to find a part compatible with my grill for closer to $6/plate.... from a very well-known parts store (*hint...you can find the big box store in most malls and their name starts with a big, blue "S"). My point? Maybe it's a good item... but the cost is just too high.

My Fiance was very surprised and unsure when he opened his new Dallas Cowboys grill. After he looked it over for a little while he decided he wanted to take it with us to a friend's house and make sandwiches for everyone. I'm rating it three stars because we had a very hard time cooking with it, had to cut off the crust just so it would close and latch like it was supposed to. The inside does come apart for cleaning, although my fiance did say it was hard to clean. Overall it's a cute concept but hard to actually use.

I bought this table to go with the bed, and my review on the bed should be posted. Basically if you are buying this table to go with the bed DON"T do either. The bed is a total piece junk (dents all over it from shipping) and one of the two main bracket not angled properly so I cannot build the bed. I have to find a welder to fix it!! Do yourself a favor and keep looking because Amazon is NO help in these matters. They only pay for returns with UPS and if UPS doesn't ship it they won't take it back.

HomArt Large Decorative Fancy Fish Matches

I love this box of matches. It has a vintage kind of feel to it. The matches work perfectly. I think I will be able to reuse the box for more matches.

APOLOGY: To anyone I led astray with my original review, I am very sorry that I said these matches light easily. That was when I first got my order of three boxes, and the first few matches I tried lit beautifully. But a few matches into the first box, I started having trouble getting them to light and my ultimate success rate was very poor. The second box I opened did not contain one single match that lit. I have not opened the third box, yet.

These matches are for ARTWORK ONLY. The matches themselves are not functional. If you want a unique matchbox spice up the decor of your home, these are great. The artwork is really unique. However if you want functional matches, look elsewhere because these do not light when struck. They sputter and spark and then go out. You cannot use them to light candles or anything else.

I am a big believer in the old fashioned "bathroom match", but didn't like having a junky looking box of matches in my powder room. These match boxes are beautiful and really add to the look of any room they are in. I just replaced the nonfunctional matches with ones that actually work and they are fine in the bathroom.

The negatives are that they are very expensive for the amount of matches you get and unfortunately the matches don't light. I had been willing to buy them for the artwork on the box, and refill with cheaper matches when the originals are used up, but when it came I realized that there is only one striking surface on the side of the box (instead of two like on most matchboxes). This means that the box itself has a limited lifespan, and when the striking surface is worn down, the box must be discarded. My plans for reusing the box are not going to work out like I had hoped.

Still, it is pretty and classy looking, and if you can afford SIX DOLLARS for a small box of matches that don't light then I highly reccommend these. I love looking at them and get compliments from guests. It is a quirky addition to my home and I think little details like this are what make a house interesting.

The box is gorgeous, something I definitely want to keep and it was larger than I expected, to my pleasant surprise. I would buy these again!
