Weiman Stainless Steel Wipes

Weiman Stainless Steel WipesWhile this product works much better than the multipurpose and window-type spray cleaners, the wipes are not as easy to use as I'd hoped. You see, you will need to actually clean the item first, then use these wipes to polish the surface. And by polish, I do mean *vigorously polish*. If you simply run these across a stainless surface, you will end up with milky residue/major streaks.

So, while I wouldn't purchase this product again, I wouldn't say that it isn't at least adequate for removing streaks from stainless appliances.

I've tried several products for my stainless steel appliances and this is the only one that works well for my refrigerator. For some reason we get streaks down the front of our refrigerator that are almost impossible to remove (we're assuming from the water dispenser). The Weiman wipes work much better than any other product. My only complaint is that they seem rather dry and it takes two or three wipes to get the streaks off. I want to try the Weiman Stainless Steel Spray, but can't find it in the stores. All in all, a great product.

These are the BEST wipes I've ever used, but I don't just use them for my stainless steel appliances. They do an AMAZING job on my flat-top stove. I hadn't been able to find anything that cleaned the flat-top to my satisfaction; I could always see marks on it. Now it shines. Thank you, Weiman Products!

I got a brand new stainless steel refrigerator and still had the hand prints of the delivery guys. I could not get water spots off or anything else. I wanted to take it back where I got it and get a black or white one. I looked on Amazon and found Weiman Stainless steel wipes and thought I would give them a try. Wow, what a difference. They even keep prints off. Love my fridge now. Even gave them as a move in gift to my friend because she had never had a stainless steel refrigerator either and knew she would love them.

Wilton Armetale Gourmet Grillware

Wilton Armetale Gourmet Grillware Grill Tray, Rectangular, 9-3/4-Inch by 16-3/4-InchI've always admired the Wilton Armetale products when I would see them in stores. They are very attractive so I was excited to get this griddle and try it out.

Upon receiving it, I first did a little research on the types of metal used in the production of this piece. I was a little concerned with the use of aluminum which I try to avoid for health concerns. I decided to try it out despite my concerns because I figured this would be used occasionally and not daily.

It fit right on 2 of my burners. I made a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches using plenty of butter. They stuck horribly to the griddle. It was quite a job to remove the stuck on food. This was just the bread itself sticking too and not cheese which is odd, I've never had a problem with bread sticking to my pans, especially since I used butter. I also tried making sautéed onions and peppers with plenty of oil. Again, horrible sticking and cleanup was a bear.

I've decided between the use of aluminum in the product and the sticking that I'm going to use this as a large and very pretty trivet and tray. I've found it nice to place on the table and set dishes on. I also sit it on my counter and place a lit candle on it.

Pricey for just a tray or trivet but it is quite attractive. I recommend using an old-fashioned cast iron griddle. You can't beat them.

We've had this Grill Tray for 5 years and it is one of the most used dishes in our kitchen. We received it as a wedding gift and its simple utilitarian design became an instant go-to cookware and serving tray. They should build tanks out of this stuff because it is extremely durable. If you are looking for an attractive serving dish that you can cook on, look no further. It is similar to cast iron but is more attractive, does not retain oils and flavors after washing, doesn't rust, and is a slightly lighter in weight. It does not mark or stain so it will always look like new. It would make the perfect gift for any cook or grill enthusiast but be sure to buy yourself one while your at it.

The grill cooks fine, but stains easily. Initially I used it to heat tortillas and make quesadillas. Wherever something burned, there are spots that cannot be removed by soaking or scrubbing with brillo pads. Although the grill is still usable, it is not presentable and I cannot take it from stove to table-top as the item description suggested.

I think I may have neglected to mention, I don't find this particulary easy to clean.

(incidentally, it's not love with the Polenta I made either :-( )

Update International HG-35 Aluminum Dragon Style Hibachi Set, Antique Brass

Update International HG-35 Aluminum Dragon Style Hibachi Set, Antique BrassI have to say that I was hesitant to purchase any of the pu pu grills I found on Amazon or anywhere for that matter.

Either they looked cheap or the review(s) were not that great, thus the hesitation.

Finally I ordered this one with hopes of it being like the ones I have used in restaurants.

The verdict is GOOD! Quality was at least what I expected and my wife and I had a great dinner using it.

What did we have for dinner you ask, well it was some thinly sliced top sirloin on skewers marinated in some soy sauce, garlic and other Asian goodies.

They were GREAT and my wife loved them (she thought I was crazy at first as she had never heard of a pu pu platter). The mistake I made was cooking them on the grill first as I was afraid it would take too long to cook on the pu pu grill (that is what I call it). Next time I will cut them thin again and cook them straight on the pu pu grill.

I found a recipe "paper wrapped chicken" that I tried the week before (and were great), and next time we will have the pu pu platter with the steak, paper wrapped chicken and eggrolls.

So a thumbs up verdict on this, order one and enjoy.

P.S. I used Sterno for fuel for the grill and it worked great.

This is the perfect addition to any platter that you may have, and acts as a wonderful center piece for most get togethers. Except.... it does not fit any standard sized sterno cans. You will need to spoon in the fuel to make this work. Another option is to use charcoal. I have not used this method, but as I understand it, the design does not allow for enough air to reach the charcoal and results in the coal going out.

This would be perfect if not for the sterno cans not fitting.

Bialetti Collection 11 Inch Square Griddle Italian

Bialetti Collection 11 Inch Square Griddle Italiani suppose what matters most is "how does it cook?" the answer is "surprisingly well". i/ve used the griddle about a dozen times now...... (grilled cheese on sourdough, pancakes, hamburgers (!), breakfast meats) and nothing has even thought about sticking. and it is very easy to clean.

the reason i am surprised by its performance is because it is much THINNER and lighter-weight than i expected. when it arrived... i took one look and regreted my purchase. but it has proved my first impression wrong.

no scratches or durability concerns yet..... but i am very gentle with my cookware. i'll post an update if durability ever becomes a problem.

its light weight and cooks my pancakes very nicely. Then non-stick is great for flipping with out sticking

This griddle is of high quality and distributes the heat evenly and very easy to clean after it cools off just run it under hot water and wipe it dry .Theres enough room on this griddle for 7 eggs and 7 pieces of bacon or 2 good size pieces of ham

Weber 7416 Rapidfire Chimney Starter

Weber 7416 Rapidfire Chimney StarterI'm a big food Network fan and my favorite guy is Alton. What I saw on one of his shows was the most awesome advice for this device. Take ONE, that's right, ONE piece of newspaper and sprinkle a few drops of vegetable oil on it; then put it under your chimney starter (outdoors, please, eggman if you're reading this) and fire it up with a full can of any kind of charcoal. You won't believe how well this works. One more thing; DO NOT set a chimney starter on a gravel driveway when you start it. For some reason, the heat transfers much easier through gravel than concrete. Just put the thing on your grill grate and wait for 20 minutes. You'll have smokin' hot coals that will be almost too hot for smokin' food. I even saw Alton searing tuna on top of one of these things.

This is the absolute best way to get your grill going. Unlike the little chimneys sold at Lowe's, this holds a lot of charcoal, enough to fill an entire kettle grill, and the airflow through it is very efficient. Two sheets of newspaper and a match, and your briquettes will be ready to go in 10-15 minutes.

The aluminized finish on this resists heat and rust quite well. Other reviewers have commented on the helper handle, but the really key feature of this chiminey starter is the conical wire grid inside that holds up the charcoal. Unlike perforated metal plate inside the no-name chimeny starters, this wire grid lets all of the flame from the newspaper through to the charcoal, resulting in the charcoal lighting in half the time.

All of that, and it isn't any more expensive that the no-name brands. Bigger, faster, and more durable. What more could you ask for?

Buy Weber 7416 Rapidfire Chimney Starter Now

I usually cook in small batches, so I have a small Weber Smokey Joe. Since the grill is so small, I figured I could get away with using a perforated coffee can as a chimney starter to save the $13. I took the can, removed both ends with a can opener, and made a bunch of holes along the bottom with a bottle opener. I then put a sheet of newspaper inside, pile the coals on top, and light it. The can worked, and I used it for over a year, but then I finally decided that this starter was cheap enough that I should give it a try.

The difference is night and day -my coals start in half the time with the Weber, are much hotter when started, and, if I need to, I can start a LOT more coals at once. When they call this "Rapidfire" they mean it. If I had known what I do now, I never would've gone the coffee can route. This thing is so cheap, and works so well, that everyone with a charcoal grill should have one.

I've had several of these. They are great. Word of warning when done dumping coals look into the chimney to be sure all coals are gone. In the process of transporting my chimney to bare ground, I hadn't noticed that a small piece of coal dropped out and rolled near the house on my deck out of sight. Dog woke me up at 2AM my deck and house were on fire. Got it under control and repaired. Very thankful to my dog and that my home is brick. Since then I have seen coals stuck in the chimney grate after pouring. Please be careful folks. I was fortunate to have a persistent dog. Still use one today.

Want Weber 7416 Rapidfire Chimney Starter Discount?

This starter is bigger than I thought it would be when I ordered it. It is big enough that I have never filled it more than about halfway with briquettes. Even at about half-full it is enough to supply two dutch ovens (12 inch and 14 inch, stacked) with enough firepower to cook a good meal.

I really like that this requires no lighter fluid and will start the charcoal faster than the lighter fluid ever could. Applying a little cooking oil to the paper you place in the bottom does seem to start the charcoal faster, although it will temporarily smoke a bit more. Without adding oil I have found that I sometimes need to wait 10-12 more minutes longer or add more paper to the bottom before the charcoal is fully going.

To stress again the size of this, filling the starter completely as shown in the picture would probably use between one-quarter and one-third of a 20 pound bag of charcoal.

By consistently filling my it to approximately the same level (between the second and third holes on the side) my starter has developed a nice dull ring around it from the oxidation of the aluminum at high temperatures. Yes, the can was red hot (actually glowing). This does not in any way affect function and is almost certainly the reason for the aluminized steel, since this layer of oxidized aluminum will help to prevent oxidation of the steel (rust). I suspect that this would extend to cover the whole can after several years of use or a few big barbecues where the whole can is filled.

All Clad Electric Griddle

All Clad Electric GriddleWe bought this for Christmas for our daughter and her family. She loves it. The size lets her make enough for the whole family (husband and 3 children). I can attest that pancakes came out perfectly. She has since made several things like french toast and grilled cheese sandwiches. The griddle works great. We are now ordering one for ourselves. She does not like the scraper that comes with it; it seemed to make "marks" on the surface. She uses a plastic spatula instead to scrape stuff off.

I love to cook pancakes and eggs at the same time. This one allows you to do that and add more if you want, because it has separate settings for the left and right sides. You can cook something on one side at one temperature and something else on the other side at a higher or lower temperature, which saves time and effort. This griddle is handy to cook on and easy to clean. I've had it for more than a year and if it ever breaks, I'll get another one just like it. I'm not the best cook in the world, but this grill makes it a lot harder to make mistakes.

There is a compartment at the bottom with a little pull handle. You just use their tool, so you don't ruin the surface, and move any left over food, grease, etc., toward the front, where it drops into a little trough, which you then pull out and empty and/or throw in the dishwasher. The splash-guards that surround the grill are also detachable and can be thrown in the dishwasher. They are easy to take off and put back on.

The griddle helps me to be a better cook and it's easy to clean. The what I would call 'spatter guard' just comes right off and goes in the dish washer or you can just wash it off with a cloth. This thing is so easy to clean!

It makes great hamburgers, even though it isn't a grill!

EDITED later to say that I still use it every day and still love it!

I thought this time it would be different. I was wrong. What was I thinking, to spend such a fortune on an electric griddle? Well, I was thinking I'd get a top of the line product, that's what. Unfortunately, what I got was a griddle that looked great and worked perfectly...for about six weeks. Then the knob to turn on the burner simply broke one day and I no longer had a griddle that functioned. Imagine my dismay when I called Amazon and they said the 30-day return policy had expired a mere two weeks earlier. When I was able to chat online with someone and explain my situation they were kind enough to allow me to return it for a refund. However, what that really meant was: 1. I no longer had a griddle, 2. because it was so large and I'd thrown out the box it came in I had to pay $22 for shipping materials(!), and 3. when I recieved confirmation on the refund I'd been charged $48 for a "restocking" fee. So I spent $70 to find out the All Clad griddles are certainly not worth the enormous price tag. Ouch!

I am still cooking on this beauty. It is like having an outdoor BBQ inside. I use BBQ recipes on it. It works great. Jus tent the marinaded meat on the grill with foil..bast with extra sauce on each side and it is cooking. Comes out like off the outdoor BBQ. You won't go wrong with this...I live in a apartment so I can BBQ indoors on it! Every bit as good...if not better. BBQ afterall is about the marinade and sauces you put on the meat to creat the end result.

I enjoy All-Clad's quality cookware and I have their handsome slow-cooker but I have a passion for griddles and this one doesn't cut it. Non-stick is a non-durable finish. I have All-Clad non-stick and it's worthless after the first year. Non-stick Aluminum is a flimsy deal for $300. I can get a Presto grill like that for $30 which I won't mind tossing in a year or two. For $300, I would expect a griddle to be durable for many years. This one indicates it has "thermostats" but it's not clear whether it has thermostatic control. Most likely it cycles the heat on and off based on a timing switch just like the cheap ones -but if it doesn't, All-Clad isn't saying because they don't document this griddle on their website at all as of December 2009. Their electrics don't impress me as my slow-cooker boils everything on the low setting (We're at 5000 feet where water boils at about 200F). I have a feeling All-Clad's headed the way of Kitchen-Aide -once renowned for their mixers and now known for every piece of imported junk you can think of.

A quick look at shows that real thermostatic electric griddles with polished steel plates are a little pricier than All-Clad's mini griddle here. Why would they make world-class pans that nobody in the world would be ashamed to use but down-class their electrics to fit among the junk at the all-import stores?

Wagner 915 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner

Wagner 915 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and CleanerFirst off, make sure you read all the directions before use! After getting through the short manual, I set up shop in the bathroom and intended to clean every surface. It took about 15-20 minutes with a full tank (48 oz) to be ready for use. I kept the bathroom door closed and locked because I was concerned about my children and puppies being curious and getting hurt. I understand why it takes so long to get going, but I was worried that one of my little ones would get into it. There really should be a lock on the trigger seeing as it has to be left for so long to warm up and all it takes is a second to get some major burns. That said, locking it in the bathroom did the trick for me.

Once it was ready, I started with the brass nozzle and cleaned my bathtub and shower. It worked very well with a bit of elbow grease to remove all the build up in the grout and around the shower head which are always a pain to keep clean. It was very easy to clean the areas around my faucet that are too narrow to clean with anything other than a toothbrush. I also did some polishing up of the toilet and the toddler seats and felt really great about the idea of disinfecting everything without chemicals. I had wanted a versatile cleaner like this for some time as my mother has a nice one that I've always been jealous of, but it costs her $40 every time she needs to refill the chemicals and they go pretty fast with regular use. As a result, she doesn't use it as much as she would like to. Not so with this steamer! I absolutely love that it's just tap water. So easy and simple. The manual does warn that over time you can get mineral build up from using non-distilled water but gives you clear directions on how to clean that up so I'm sure it won't be an issue when/if it happens.

Before finishing up with the nozzle, I found my own personal perfect use for the steamer. Cleaning my window screens! Several times a year, I have to take apart all our windows and haul the screens into the backyard to spray down with the hose. Not only is this time consuming, but it isn't all that effective. I still have to use up a ton of towels wiping them down to get them really clean. I decided to give the steamer a try on my bathroom screens and oh my gosh! Instantly clean. No scrubbing, no wiping, just clean. Even if I could use it for nothing else, I would use it for this. It will save me SO much time and headache in the long run.

Once I was done with the screen, I wanted to try the squeegee attachment on the windows and mirror. I am impatient and was annoyed that I had to wait 20 minutes for the attachment to cool before I could swap it out, so I used my oven mitt and easily took off the nozzle and replaced it with the squeegee. I'm very picky about streaky glass, and was VERY pleased that within seconds I had my mirror clean from top to bottom, even at the very top where I can't normally reach without a step ladder or climbing onto the vanity. It did leave little pools of water at the bottom but a quick wipe and it was cleaned up. And NO STREAKS!!

Finally, I put on the floor attachment and went to work on my tile. It was very quick and very simple. I left it to air dry as normal and the floor was clean in half the time with no chemicals. I love this steamer so much! It's making my family healthier thanks to being able to throw out the chemicals and it's saving me time and money. Does it get any better?!

My only gripes are the fact that there is no safety lock on the trigger for use when it's warming up and that there's no on board storage for all the accessories. I get that they wanted to keep the unit small and portable, but I have all this bulky accessories with nowhere to store them. Also, the cord is pretty short. I can imagine this is for safety reasons, but it's kind of a nuisance to keep moving it from plug to plug, even within a single room. Overall though, well worth the money!

Please note that I have posted before and after images for 2 different stains on cement floors.

The first thing I did when this item arrived is pour myself a tall cup of coffee and read the instruction booklet. Radically banal, I know, but I did this for 2 reasons:

1) Things that steam and operate under pressure wig me out a bit

2) Is it advised for use on my specific application? (Cement floor? Answer: yes)

My Main Intended Application (possible gross-out alert):

This steamer is marketed primarily for wall-paper removal. While my house does not have any wall-paper, it does have certain tell-tale signs that 4 cats live here. They have produced prodigious and near-permanent 3-D stains using every orifice available to them. Scrub-brushes, a garden hoe, bleach, TSP, Brillo pads ... NOTHING removes the stains that went undetected for more than a couple of days, especially on our basement's cement floor.

WHAT I LIKE:

1) Ease of set-up and ease of use not messy, though it did scare the cats, and required lots of paper towels

2) Attachments (1 jet nozzle, 2 nozzle brushes, 2 extension wands, 1 steam plate, 1 large cleaning brush, 1 squeegee)

3) Light-weight, easy to carry up and down stairs

4) 16 ounces of water heated in just a few minutes (max of 48 ounces will require longer time)

5) Results on cement floor outstanding!! (see my Customer Images) Just a few swipes with the cleaning brush attachment did the job (plus a whole lot of paper towels).

WHAT I DO NOT LIKE POTENTIAL HAZARD:

This steamer has no water-level indicator and you should use your own timer to prevent fire and/or electric shock from allowing the steamer to boil dry. The machine DOES have a thermal safety fuse reset capability for when the steamer is allowed to run WHILE dry (i.e. if you turn the machine on without filling the reservoir first), yet it does not seem to kick in if the steamer had been previously filled but allowed to boil dry. Thus, for safety, you have to be VERY mindful about your usage time based on how much water you have inserted (see "Good To Know" below). The manufacturers seriously need to add at least an automated timer to this machine and ideally an auto-shut-off feature.

WHAT I DID NOT EXPECT:

During my first 10 minutes of use, I had to stop and wait 4 times for the water to reheat. This is a bit of a pain for longer periods of cleaning, but I can get used to this. (I just have to remember to look at the indicator lights very frequently; when the light is red, the machine is working on creating steam, therefore you must wait for the light to turn green again, indicating steam is available for use.)

GOOD TO KNOW:

1) 16 ounces of water provides 15 minutes of steam time

2) 32 ounces of water provides 30 minutes of steam time

3) 48 ounces of water (max capacity) provides 45 minutes of steam time

4) Distilled water is recommended over regular tap water.

5) You'll most likely need an extension cord, and only a heavy duty 3-wire 3-prong (grounded) cord.

6) You'll need to use your own timer to avoid a hazardous boiled-dry situation.

BOTTOM LINE:

For cleaning nasty old 3-D pet-stained cement floors, I am positively pleased with this steamer. What this steamer was able to accomplish in just 10 minutes outweighs the concerns I mentioned above. I am looking forward to experimenting with all the attachments and getting to know this machine much better.

Buy Wagner 915 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner Now

I was very excited when this came in the mail today. My luck with a steam cleaner has not been very good lately. This can be attested to a steam cleaner (McCulloch 1246) I bought a few months back and after trying it on, provided extremely disappointing results, it was returned within the day I received it. Only a comprehensive evaluation of the Wagner 915 On-Demand Power Steamer would tell if my excitement will turn into exhiliration or disappointment, and I am proud to conclude, it has exceeded my expectations of what a steam cleaner should be in every way.

The Wagner 915 comes in a bright yellow-colored body and it is ready to roll right out of the box: fill it up with water, attach the jet nozzle, plug it in the outlet, wait a few minutes for steam and pressure to build up and voila! steam power at your command, ready to tackle the most demanding cleaning job in your household.

It comes with following attachments: the main jet nozzel, plastic and metal brush, attachment to remove wallpapers and the mopping attachment. My first order of battle for this steam cleaner is the bathroom. Once the red light indicator turns off, just leaving the green light, it means you're ready to wage your war on germs. I tried it first on the shower curtains and the superheated and high pressure steam blasted away soap scums like it wasn't there. The superheated steam softens the scum and the pressure blasts it away at the same time. The grout also proved no match for this steamer. Along with the plastic brush attachment, a gentle scrubbing motion was all it took to make the stain disappear on the grout edges. Since the steam was very hot, you can also sanitize the toilet without worrying about the smell of chemical cleaners or getting it on your skin. My second task was the stove top, oven and the microwave. Again, the superheated steam and both the plastic and metal brush, softened the baked in grime and stain and blasted it away with high pressure. All that needs to be done in the end is a simple wipe. You can also prefer to skip the wiping and just air dry it. I haven't tried the wallpaper remover attachment since there are no wall papers anywhere in my home.

Be advised though that, you need to have a little patience when using a steam cleaner. As you prolong the steaming, you release pressure from the steaming unit and it needs to build up again. This is the purpose of the red light indicator. If the red light is on, it means it is building up steam and pressure. It has exceeded my expectations in the sense that with the Wagner 915, this steamer MAINTAINED the superheated status of the steam for a much longer time compared to the previous steam cleaner I had, the McCulloch 1246. Maintaining the heat of the steam for a prolonged period of time is very important feature in my opinion as it gets your task done faster without the frequent waiting in between for the steam cleaner to heat up and build pressure again. The McCulloch 1246 failed miserably with this feature. (You can read all about this in my separate review for the McCulloch). Another nice thing with the wagner is that it has its own compartment where you can store the tiny plastic and metal brush. It can be stored there after using the steamer, eliminating the need to look for it elsewhere or misplacing it. Be careful though because it is also where the water tank opening is located and just after using the steamer, the tank cap can be very hot so avoid getting in contact with it right after use.

Other reviewers noted the short power cord. This is a minor gripe in my opinion as I can always use an extension cord. Overall, very impressed with the performance of this product and I just hope it continues to function well and not break down in the near future. Highly recommended!

I purchased the wagner steam cleaner because the 1st one I purchased (McCulloch MC-1275 Heavy-Duty Steam Cleaner) broke after the 2nd time I used it. I liked the wagner because

1. The wagner steam cleaner is lighter and more sturdily built compared to the McCulloch.

2. The wagner emits a more powerful jet of steam compared to the McCulloch which is useful in cleaning the bathroom and fixtures.

3. The squegee on the Wagner left no streaks vs some streaks left by the McCulloch

4. The wagner came with a cloth/mop that was really useful in mopping the floors. You could use any small towel as well as there is space to pin a cloth onto the tool.

5. The wagner works with tap water whereas the McCulloch requires distilled water.

The only disadvantage to the wagner is that the electric cord is really too short. I have purchased the "Stanley 31536 Heavy Duty 9-Foot 110V Extension Cord, Grey" from amazon to compensate for the short cord on the wagner.

My wife and I had been using a steam mop in the kitchen for the last year which died on us recently. I wasn't ever too happy with it it had a small tank which needed to be filled all the time and wasn't useful anywhere else in the house.

I started looking for a more durable replacement for it and none of the steam mops had that good of reviews.

This steamer, although it's not a dedicated mop, has served as a great replacement for it. It has a huge tank (it does take a few minutes to heat up), several attachments and feels much more rugged than the mop only models.

We probably use it for mopping 30% of the time, with the rest of it being spent cleaning everything from grout lines, messy kitchen appliances, shower doors and even stains on the carpet that have been there for years. For most everything, we have the small nozzle on it with the plastic bristles. This lets us scrub our grill and even clean pet stains on the carpet which I really wasn't expecting. It also comes with a squeegee attachment that quickly got rid of old mildew on our guest shower door.

This thing gets used almost as much as our vacuum and has done everything and more we bought it for. Very happy with it.

Highly recommended.
