This item is everything and more than advertised. I've used mine for everything checking heat vents in my home, temperature in a sun room (160 degrees), stove top, oven, fridge etc.
I can't even sneak it out of my kitchen drawer, for our kitty is hooked on the infrared beam, which makes for a rather expensive cat toy!
I couldn't be more pleased.
This arrived in a plain (completely undecorated) box, and essentially no documentation at all. It works, as far as I can tell, though calibration of the "emissivity" parameter is a mystery. It feels fairly solid, and it's pretty quick to react (a second or less to a temperature readout that's updated about once every half-second while you hold the trigger). Temperature readings seem as accurate as I need them to be off most surfaces shiny stainless steel being an exception (reads way low).
This is the only device of its kind I've ever used, be aware.
