The fan comes pre-assembled, all you have to do is snap the base "foot" on it, and unwrap the power cord. The fan has three modes: off, low, & high. All of the "on" modes are fairly noisy (as one would expect a cheap fan to be), and all of the "on" modes do a good job of keeping you cool. I use this at my desk in my office which is kept about 10 degrees warmer than I am really comfortable with, and I pretty much have it on me all day long, and it does its job well. For a tiny little 7 inch fan, I feel I most certainly got my money's worth.

I bought this fan for my desk at my office. For the price you pay the fan is great. It has 2 speeds, low and high, and offers alot of power for a low setting. The con is that its a bit noisy, but that could also be because its so close to me and blowing right in my ear.

This fan was horrible! It let out the most loud ear shattering squeal when it ran! I unplugged it and returned it immediately. I don't even remember how the air felt I just had to make the gear scratching noise stop!

This small fan is very powerful but quite loud. Had I known that, I might have opted for a different model.

I ordered this fan for my pet, a 2-year old Pomeranian. It is placed in front of him on the vinyl floor and he enjoys it very much especially when the weather is beginning to get hot, he needs it. It is a very effective and economical way to take care of your pets during summer if you are like me work full time and cannot afford to turn on air conditioner for our pets all day. It would be better if the fan has a 24-hour timer so that it can be set to turn on at a particular time.
