These are a nice idea but a pain to use. they smoke up right away and are hard to read to begin with without magnification.

These work well, you have to put then sideways into your steak. I would like the dial to be a bit larger, but that is my eyesight issue! One warning, do not use these in a frying pan with oil, they stopped working entirely as the oil penetrated the dial, use them on a BBQ grill only and you will be happy.
