It has all the functions a modern Microwave should have. It needs to be mounted very carefully, otherwise the vibrations of the metal housing create the most frightening noise your kitchen ever has experienced. My problem was the automatic fan which should prevent the oven from overheating: it run from the first second and never shut down. Ordered through Amazon, delivered by AJ Madison and manufactured by GE I first had to find out who is actually responsible for warranty and service. Once the GE service appointment was arranged, the technician came two hours too late, did not have insurance with him, did not find out what was wrong, had no spare parts with him and left without doin anything. I still have my microwave with the fan continuously running, consuming electrical power for nothing....

LA's Totally Awesome Grill and Oven Cleaner (40 fl oz)

I actually got this at my local dollar store, but this stuff works great! Just note that if you are going to clean more than 2-3 squirts of the liquid indoors you should use gloves and a respirator mask (a cloth one seems to be fine). I've been cleaning my kitchen with this and it literally melts the built up grease off of anything it touches. Highly recomended.

Heavy Large Cast Iron Reversible Stovetop Griddle

This griddle is much more generous in size than any other griddle I have found. The placement of the handles provides a good compromise of cooking surface to handle.

Since it lacks that grease channel that most other griddles have, you gain that in usable cooking surface. You don't need a lot of grease to keep foods from sticking to cast iron, particularly the griddle side. Also, other griddles have a slight slope to them for that grease to drain toward the grease well . . . which means, lopsided pancakes.

The grill side is also more evenly spaced than other griddles and makes for great panini sandwiches.

The preseasoning was acceptable, but all cast iron gets better with age and more seasoning. All in all, a great griddle/grill and great price. I use it almost daily. Only regrets are that it's not a little bigger to fit better over electric burners and that it's not an American made product.

Quality of product is very poor. Hoping that after seasoning and using over time I will have a decent griddle. This is the only griddle that actually fits on my gas stove. The size is perfect.

Chef'n Oil Wand Silicone Oil Dispenser, Frost Meringue

It works especially well for using just a little in a nonstick fry pan. With a soft squeeze about a tablespoon comes out and can be spread around a 10 or 12 inch skillet, much less than if I pour out of the bottle. I don't like a dry "fried" egg from a nonstick pan so this is a good solution.

Good idea but bad design. It leaks when positioned in the ceramic holder but worse the lid pops off when you try and use it spilling the oil everywhere. It's not useable!

Filled this with coconut oil and use it DAILY! It is so easy to just take top off and spread oil evenly around pan surface before heating up to cook in...No messy brush to replace in jar in frigerator or to wash each time...It looks fine on my countertop...it looks white on white because of the coconut oil but it really wouldn't matter if it was a different shade. Generally, there's not too terribly much you can say about a coffee filter. These are nice, but could be better. The only reason I say that is because I compare them to the size of the Bunn basket filters. It's a trade-off. I like these because they're unbleached, but I wish the sides were just a little bit taller.

Although the description on Amazon says that the display is backlit, it is not: I ordered this item only to discover that it is not indeed backlit (confirmed by the packaging, manual and on the manufacturer's website), but also that at 11" it's considerably shorter than most thermometer forks, which will likely lead to some very hot fingers over the grill.

I'd suggest looking at the same company's model DTF212 CDN TempFork Thermometer (also available on Amazon), which is only a little more at $19, but is almost twice as long and does have a backlit display, along with a bunch of other features that may come in handy.

I purchased these for my husband after his last pair broke. It works very well and is very well designed. One thing I want to point out on these is that the prongs are one solid piece. With hubbie's old pair, the tips of the prongs were a second piece and they eventually broke off.

I enjoy using this, but I wish I would have gotten a longer handle. I didn't realize how hot my grill is it takes about 3-5 seconds for the temperature to register, and in that time my hand gets hot. I suppose a BBQ mitt will help with that issue.

With that said, this is absurdly easy to use, and fun. Just stick the fork in the meat, and in a few seconds you'll know the temperature.

If I ever find a longer-handled fork, I'll give this to my neighbor. But until then, he can't have it--this is mine!

Up until just recently I had been using a Sharper Image All-in-One Grill Fork which I liked very much. Unfortunately it was damaged beyond repair when it was accidentally immersed in water so I purchased a CDN DBBQ212 Digital Thermometer BBQ Fork as a replacement. Right out of the package the construction appeared to be a bit dodgy, but I was willing to give it a shot based on the reasonable price. As soon as the "on" button was depressed, my suspicions were confirmed. It didn't work, or at least, not the way it was supposed to. Several lines that make up the 3 digit characters were not working, making it almost impossible to tell the difference between the numbers 8, 3 and 0, 5, and 6, or 7 and 9. The only reason these forks exists is to give accurate cooking temperatures, and if you can't tell the difference between 185° and 135°, what's the point? Also, even though the only button is labeled "on/off" it only appears to turn the digital display on; the off function doesn't work. After several days of looking at the crippled digital display I pulled the batteries to put it out of its misery.

The temp comes up fine and seems to be accurate. It's a bit small and feels a bit cheap. It does the job though. I have seen nicer looking ones for less, but I have no Idea how well they work as far as getting temp.

I had bought a Hunter table fan, only to be completely disappointed to find that not only was it made in China, but it was difficult to disassemble for cleaning, and the blades won't start to spin unless switched to HIGH (and even then it sometimes needs a push or several to start turning). So, I set out on a quest to find a fan that is made in the US, easy to disassemble, and works properly. I stumbled across reviews on the 'net which indicated that not only are Lasko fans still made in the US, but this particular fan is easy to disassemble. So I ordered two from Amazon. They arrived in a matter of 3 business days. I am SO pleased with the fan! I put the first one together in about 1 minute, didn't even need the instructions (the other I'll just keep in the box until needed). The head doesn't tilt downward very much, I'd say only 5 or 10 degrees, but it tilts upward quite a bit farther than other fans I've owned, I'd guess somewhere between 30 to 40 degrees from level. It's very quiet other than the inevitable white noise of the fan blades pushing the air. I run my fan in the bedroom at night for the white noise and the air circulation, so it's probably on a *minimum* of 12 hours a day. I don't have any idea how long this fan will hold up to that kind of use. But I am so pleased to have something made in the US and fits all of the other criteria that I set out to find!!! Thanks, Amazon, for the quick delivery, and Lasko, for the great product!!!

Now if it will only last for 25 years like the Sanyo desk fan I used to own... if it does, I'll probably be dead and the second fan will be brand new in a box on the shelves downstairs, so my family will inherit a brand new "old" fan LOL.

The quietness of my 10-year-old fan prompted my friend to ask me order her one. All the parts disassemble easily for total cleaning. A real workhorse; I leave it running 24/7 in summer.

This fan was reported to be very quiet and reliable, but after I put it together (not a hard task at all), it was considerably noisier than I had hoped. It was about as noisy as other small table fans I've bought. Not terrible, but certainly not the soft hush I had hoped for. The biggest problem was that the fan only worked on two of the three motor speeds!!! Although it created a strong breeze, the lack of quiet and the defective speeds don't make it a great bargain.

I bought this fan a year ago thanks to the great review by dontwannabeageek, who had the same basic criteria I did.

I wanted a fan primarily to use when I'm on the elliptical machine Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer, and also for use in the living room enabling me to use the A/C less frequently.

Pros: It's super quiet, even on high (and I'm pretty sensitive to noise), moves enough air to keep me cool when exercising, it's easy to clean because the grille is removable, AND it's made in America. Yay! The neutral color makes it unobtrusive, and blends in with any decor. It's also light weight, so it's easy to move around, yet very sturdy. It oscillates and tilts up and down. It's exactly what I was looking for and has every feature I wanted.

Assembly Tips: The round part that screws down over the fan blades to lock them in is tightened counter-clockwise, which is backward from the usual way. Tighten till just snug, don't over tighten. Also, when attaching the grille, it helps to have a flat head/slot type screwdriver to push the tabs in, and also for removing the grille for cleaning.

Note: The year before I had purchased the Honeywell HT800 Super Turbo High Performance Fan, Black in white, and it was so noisy I couldn't stand it. I wish I had found the Lasko fan then!

Bottom Line: I love the fan so much, I bought a second one for the bedroom a few weeks later.

P.S. Usage Tip: I also got this remote switch Super Switch Wireless Remote so I could set the fan across the room, and be able to turn it on and off from the bed. Not out of laziness, but if halfway through the night you feel cold/hot, you don't have to rouse yourself out of bed, or disturb your partner. It would also be good for someone with mobility problems.

UPDATE 7/30/11 I have had these fans for 2 years now, and am just as happy with them now as when I wrote the original review. I have three of them now, one for the bedroom, one for the living room and one for the elliptical/exercising. LOVE!

Cabcool 1201-2 Two-Single 120mm Kits with Thermal Control

At close $90 it had better work, and it does.

I was hoping it would have been worth the money; it has definitely lowered the inside temperature of my entertainment center.

To give you some background on why I was looking into this, I have multiple pieces of equipment inside my entertainment center, an Onkyo receiver that gets very hot, an original PS3 and they definitely run very hot, an Xbox 360, my router and NAS, and my cable box and DVD.

I used to keep the doors open to keep the doors open, but I have a 10 month old in the house and now have to keep the doors closed to keep my son out.

I finally got it all hooked up tonight and ran my ps3 for about an 2 hours; normally it would be super hot inside the cabinet, but tonight after setting it all up I now have no fears about keeping the front doors closed and overheating my electronics.

Great Product at least in my initial observations, remember this is my first night with it, and first impressions are very good so far, if it stops working or fails, I will update this post.

I have these cooling the home theater equipment. They do a very good job and dnt make any noise. I love the fact that they dont run when they're not needed. They cost a lot, but work very well.

I needed to buy fans for my TV cabinet because keeping the doors closed meant that everything would get too hot. I have a toddler at home so I needed to keep it all closed. I went with this kit because I knew that I wanted thermal control, at least 2 fans, and a means to make the final project look fit and finished. The kit comes with everything I needed. You can find the stuff separately for a little cheaper, but I didn't think tracking all the individual parts was worth the savings.

Installation involves cutting into your media cabinet with a saw. Make sure you measure properly and make sure the holes are level before cutting. The face plates, grill, and screen are what attracted me to this kit. Everything was meant to fit together. I'll upload pictures of my final product, as well.

The thermal controller works well too. DO NOT remove the insulation on the thermal sensor. There is a toggle switch for constant on fan or thermal controlled fan. When the fan is off, the LED is red and when it comes on automatically, it is bright green. When you have it on constant on, it's a yellow-green LED that lights up. That way you can tell if that fans are working because they are pretty quiet fans. When the TV is on and cabinet doors are closed, you wont hear the fans at all, but you can see the light. I put the switch farther back in the cabinet so the LEDs are not visible while watching TV.

The fan displaces enough air to make sure that my HTPC and receiver stay cool. I have an Onkyo receiver that is notorious for getting too hot, thus it heats up my HTPC too causing it to shut off. These fans keep it all cool.

I have the fans set up so that one is for intake of cool air and the other is the exhaust of hot air. Intake is at the bottom of the cabinet and exhaust is at the top. I also bought another fan from a local computer store for cheap and installed it into the shelf. The shelf fan pulls hot air from the bottom compartment to the top compartment where the exhaust can expel it. All three fans are connected to the same thermal sensor so they all turn on at the same time. You will need to plan a good airflow pathway in order for this system to truly be effective. I will post pics of my set up, as well.

Overall, this little project took about 2.5 hours from start to finish, including cable management and clean up. Post questions in the comments and I'll answer them.

What's scary about this BBQ brush is; when cleaning your grill the metal bristle come off. If your not careful it can get in your food and in you digestive track causing all kinds of problems.

Tayama Electric Barbecue Grill

This grill is cheaply made and performs as well as a cheaply made piece o doodoo can be expected to perform. Doesn't get hot enough to really grill anything but can be used as a toaster. The most freaking annoying thing is that it won't turn off. The dial used for turning the thing on and then adjusting the temp is so crappy that even at the lowest setting there is no way to switch the thing completely off so it must be physically unplugged if you aren't planning to return to your kitchen in flames.

Don't recommend it at all. Also with this crap type of design it desperately needs a cover to get anything even halfway cooked. If u want something like this cough up the extra 10 bucks for one with a cover

Heat control broke after first use. It was stuck in the on position so the only way to turn it off was to unplug it. Also did not get very hot. Sent it back to Amazon within 24 hours of receiving it. Stay away.

I have to say that I am disappointed in the grill in that it takes a very long time to fully cook anything. I was surprised that the rack could be adjusted, didn't catch that from the description. Even with the rack at the lowest setting so the food is close to the heat it still takes longer than I expected to even get the food hot. Very compact though!

Fiskars 9210 Long-Handled Swivel Grass Shears

I hate to heap mockery on some of the reviewers' statements below, but I have found immediate gratification with this set of long handled shears. They, to be polite, are all fulla beans.

In fact, my wife has agreed that we need a second pair, so she can use them when I'm obsessing with this pair.

Down the list of criticisms that turned out to be so much hot air:

LIGHT, not heavy. Very controllable, not fatiguing at all.

Very sharp, right out of the box.

Easy to balance with the front handle -this is a two hand job, if you're going to be trimming more than a snip here and there -and I didn't find any need to stoop or bend over at all. I'm only six feet, though, so perhaps some of the negative reviews were written by retired NBA folks.

FAST, FAST, FAST delivery. To tell the truth, with some of my experiences of late with Amazon, I was astonished to see it in my carport just two days after ordering. TWO DAYS, people! Ready to use, right out of the box, too!

There are some negatives. I have NO idea how I'll sharpen the blades, but, with the slight expense, I can afford to toss 'em in a landfill for future generations to deal with and buy another.

UPDATE June 08: Use these almost daily, when things are growing. Actually they were easier to put a newish edge on than I anticipated. They are a bit hard to keep clean, but that is mostly me, I'm afraid. I'd buy a pair if I were you, and I am hard to please (see other reviews under my name.)

A while back I attended a lecture at an old house nearby. While poking around the property we spied some ingenious looking trimmers that were mounted on wheels. The perfect thing for edging lawns! When I saw these long handled shears in This Old House magazine they looked to be the closest thing (albeit without wheels). They are light and well balanced. The blades seem to cut nicely and I like the fact that the blade lock is easily located on the top. The blades are rather short, so you have to make lots and lots of cuts to edge a bed. Naturally, this leads to a very tired hand. The shears are easy to use in either hand, although I am pretty ambidextrous so it may just be me. I have found that something of a scythe movement enables me to cut through grass somewhat easier and quicker. I have an aversion to gas powered weed wackers as they are noisy and smelly. They are far more effective than these shears which I was hoping would not be the case. All in all, if I had just a small area to edge, these shears would be great. For a large lawn or many flower beds, they just don't "cut it."

I had great hopes for this. I've long searched for ways to cut weeds without having to bend over. This tool is lightweight, enough so for one-handed use. Perhaps durability was sacrificed for weight, but after being used for only a short time, the spring in the mechanism up top dislodged somehow and the blades would no longer open correctly. No amount of trying to grab the end of that spring with longnosed pliers would work to pop it back where it was supposed to go. The tool is riveted, not bolted together, thereby preventing me from taking it apart to try to fix it. I had to toss it in the trash as it was useless, taking up room, and irreparable. I've had other stuff from Fiskars that I was happy with, for example a bypass pruner with long handles and a gear mechanism for leverage.

Great idea for those of us who have difficulty bending to trim areas around plants. The tool is helpful, light in weight, but does not handle large clumps of grass. A few blades here and there is what this product handles. If you do try to cut clumps the blades can get stuck.

The removable plates was a major reason for selecting this waffle iron. I'm very happy with how easy it is to wash the waffle plates since they can be soaked in water or put in the dishwasher.

(With our previous waffle iron, I spent a lot of time trying to get it clean, which I was never able to do satisfactorily with a paper towel or sponge. It would get sticky from the oil and extra things like bananas that we added to the waffles...and it seemed gross to wipe it off and put it away in the cupboard like that).

The quality of the waffles seems very good. My kids like it when we make extras and then they can heat them up in the toaster for a quick hot breakfast on a school day. Waffles with mini chocolate chips are their favorites.

This waffle iron does not have a light or timer that will tell you when the waffles are done. But that is not a problem for me -as soon as I pour the batter in, I set my stove timer for three minutes and that is just the right time for my waffles to cook. The waffle maker heats up again for the next batch very quickly. I had debated about whether we really needed a waffle iron, since we could always make pancakes. However, making waffles is much easier than babysitting pancakes that have to be watched for bubbles and flipped. Those three minute intervals can actually be used to do other kitchen tasks -without worrying about burning the breakfast.

I've only made sandwiches a couple of times...and my family seemed pleased with the sandwiches, both their nice appearance and that they were cooked very well (much better than if they had been fried in a pan). We are looking forward to trying a variety of new hot sandwich recipes.

This is truly an "easy clean" appliance. We have tried both the waffle maker plates and the "snak" or sandwich maker plates. The plates attach and remove easily and clean up in the dishwasher. The waffles come out of the plates without effort, and it is very easy to use. I would recommend this to everyone.

I purchased this one to replace a cheaper one we bought years ago. The other one still works, but we have not used it in several years because we can't sufficiently clean it. This one makes pocket sandwiches and waffles, but I bought specifically for the sandwiches. The plates easily remove for cleaning. Only attempt to remove them after they have completely cooled. Although this unit was about twice the cost of the cheaper one that can be found on Amazon or locally in stores like Wal-mart or Target, I completely recommend this one because it can be perfectly cleaned while the cheaper one cannot. My old one still has cheese baked onto the unit from several years ago. Trust me when I say, aged cheese is not always the best... LOL

This is a great sandwich toaster, the best thing is the plates are removable, that makes them easy to clean. They are oversized to fit regular bread with lots of stuffings. Makes great stuffed sandwiches. Put some butter on top and bottom to make them crispy. I havent used the waffle maker yet, but I am sure it works well. I was surprised there werent many sandwich makers in the market as small griddlers/grills, just a handful.. so choosing this was easy. Enjoy.. cheers.

It was the only "personal" sized grill pan of good quality I could find and I am happy I did. The results are the same as the large Calaphon pan that is a royal pain to wash for cooking only one piece of meat :-).

I just purchased a previously owned townhome and needed to really clean the entire kitchen. I used an industrial grease remover and was unable to remove all the grime (YUK!!!). I had seen this product advertised and was skeptical; however, I was pleasantly surprised. The SteamFast SF-226 Handheld Steam Cleaner did an exceptional job. Following the use of the steamer, I was able to wipe down all surfaces in the kitchen. It worked great on the grout, stove-top, kitchen tile, floor tile, refrigerator, and woodwork. I highly recommend this little work horse!

Not much to say... it's a low end, handheld steam cleaner -meaning it can't compete in any way with professional models at twice the price. For the most past, it gets the job done. Set up took all of 5 minutes -fill with water, attach a nozzle, wait for the light to signal it's ready, and steam away!

Most people will probably use the main nozzle (as pictured) and attack the usual areas -bathroom, kitchen, and every other nook + cranny you can think of. It did a good job on all those areas.

It's light enough to carry around for a while, and the long power cord allowed for good flexibility. It removed most of the burnt-on grease inside the oven (though it took a few cycles).

As to be expected with a basic model, it doesn't take long to lose its' steam power, and it needs refilling rather quickly (so don't pump for steam if you don't need to). Also, depending on the angle being applied, it leaked more water than steam action to some surfaces. Additionally, I wish the main nozzle was longer, as I found myself unable to reach certain areas.

To sum up, it's fine for most basic household uses but don't expect maximum power from a model like this. I found myself wanting to upgrade.

This is a great product at a great price. This is my second one, because they don't last forever. But four years for one of these isn't a bad life-time, considering the price. There are some things it DOESN'T do like soap scum on the shower door. But I use it for cleaning the grill, the oven and the stove-top. The steam really does melt the grease like in the infomercial. While it doesn't really work on soap scum, it does a great job on mirrors. Next time I'll spend the extra money and get the one with the extension hose, because without it you can't get to the bottom of the mirror (the squeege attaches right to the tank, which gets in the way). About the time I run out of steam, my arm is tired and the break to let the unit cool so I can refill it works out nicely for me. With common sense (don't force parts together, empty the tank before storing, etc.), the unit should last. The one thing I would change would be to add the ability to purchase nozzles and brushes seperatly. Those are the things that get lost/wear out, etc.

it loosens dirt and grime,,,then you have to wipe it away...

i say this because some people may think you steam it off,,and that when done the area is cleaned,,it isn't. it lessens the elbow-grease you have to put in.it IS worth the money, you don't have to work as hard, but you still have to wipe up the residue....so much for cleaning unreachable places,,,for that you need to use an attachment with a fabric cover, which they do give you, but it's teeny, tiny...you need about fifty to complete a dirty job... all in all, i recommend,,but prepare to get creative... it's a good and helpful little product!

This item does provide steam, however it is not hot enough to get rid of simple soap scum and mildew. Pain in the butt process: Fill with small amount of water, wait three minutes for it to heat up, use for 1-3 minutes before item runs out of water, wait five minutes for item to cool down before opening the pressure chamber to refill... repeat. Total waste of time.
